I tried VA for a while.
It's very smooth, smother than oder roms I think. There is a great player, the beats plays well. It's nice to restart rosie without phone restarting.
But...
I used my phone till battery came to 8% and after that... freezing, restarting, freezing, restarting - you can choose one.
It started normally but after minute - freeze.
I use oc/ov beater but I didn't undervolting my device.
Any ideas what's wrong?
By the time it reaches 8% I would be expecting wierd problems - and I'd have it on charge well before then if I possibly could. I don't know exactly what goes on under the hood of the ROM, but it will be doing enforced power-saving by then, so could be trying to shut down applications which don't like it or anything else. If you got to 8% without problems then you should be happy - how long did it last on battery only before that?
I used phone something about 48 hours, last time before crash I've been listening to music, battery came to 10%, my phone communicated that fact, everything was ok. After 8% I've seen virtuous pulsing logo. Phone didn't answer, I restarted device by taking off the battery. After it phone didn't work normaly. System was loaded, sense was loaded, after two minutes I saw a frezing phone. The same story - battery out and hard restart. I fully charged phone and tried use system but it wasn't possible.
Now I'm running in endymion v3 rom and a everything is ok. Before virtuous I had endy v 2.2 and I've run on it more than 300 hours battery was taken down to 2% not once. So I'm thinking that virtuous kernel is not very stable.
That is possible - different ROMs can have different problems and I am currently using Endymion v3 with no visible problems at all. You shouldn't pull the battery if you can possibly avoid it though, try holding the Volume Up, Volume Down and Power buttons for at least 10 seconds first to try a shutdown that way.

I've recently started having this problem. I charged my wizard overnight, saw the battery was 100%, then as soon as i removed the charger, it drops to around 80%. If i follow this with a soft reset, it drops to 50%. During normal usage the drainage isn't so sudden, but it is still a lot faster than usual. For e.g. a 20 min video would drain 30% of the battery.
My extended rom is clear, I first installed the 2.26 tmob rom, then wrcx1, so I dont think that should be an issue. I've installed the power saving cabs as well. What else could be the problem? I'd really hate to have to switch to another rom just to sort this out...
Forgot to add, this is a recent problem. I used to get excellent battery life, this has just suddenly started happening. I haven't changed my charger or battery.
which BS are you using?
I was using the latest BS release (0263 i think) but have removed it from my today screen and still the problem is persisting...
Battery... that's what driving me crazy now! With WM5, I can use my device almost 2,5 days with lots call/sms and solitaire. Tried 3 WM6 version and couldnot save the O2 life last more than 3 hours (uncontinuosly). Please any one help to solve this.... (
Sounds like either your battery is screwed (they DO go bad after a year or two) OR you've got one seriously ****ed up ROM.
By the way, BatterySpace is known to do this if you use the dynamic overclocking. Somehow something in the ROM or Registry gets trashed, and then the system will peg the CPU at 100%.
This will WASTE the battery like nobody's business! Once this happens the only fix is a HARD RESET - I've not figured out what's getting scrambled, but whatever it is, a reboot doesn't fix it.
Shut off the dynamic overclocking if you're using it and see if the problem goes away.
I just had the same erratic behavior from my battery, it was over a year old. It would charge to 100%, but when off the charger strength would read random levels and drain really fast. I could kill the battery in about 30 minutes of browsing web pages.
A new battery solved it.

OK, thanks!
Now I'm thinking about downgrade to WM5 to check wherther battery died or not, before buy a new one.
I have the same issue on the g3 wizard connected thru tmobile us running the bd3 rom. I have had excellent battery life in the past but in the past 3 days or so the battery status is just inaccurate. The main prob is that when you go connect to the internet 5 min later the device restarts and sometimes it just keeps restarting in a loop. Then sometimes it restarts but battery is at critical, when before it was at 80%.
But i noticed when it gets stuck in the boot loop, just stick it on the charger for a sec and it will start back up fine, but then die after a couple phone calls or so.
I have also cleared the rom thinking it was some battery drain issue that usually happens when you don't flash the original rom before you flash a cooked one. I installed the tmobile original one and then flashed "boring rom for tmobile". That rom works quite well. But the battery is still draining.
I also changed the radio rom from the 2.69 and now went to the 02.25.11 but still the same issue.
I didn't try running straight wm5 and see if it did it their, but the previous poster is trying it so ill see if that worked for him or not.
The next step is to try a new battery but this battery is only like a year old
Believe me when I tell 'ya that Lithium Ion batteries, when they die, do so exactly like this.
Try a new battery.

mine is doing the same thing..
if i start any aplication that requests more procesing, the device keeps rebooting, even if the battery was indicating 100% when i started using it
if i plug the charger when he is rebooting, he comes back to life 80-100% charged..
if i do not use it, and leave him on stand by, the battery lasts for like 2 days without any issues.
Draining in Sudden Bursts! Sounds like it feels good.
well i guess i will just get a new battery and hope that solves the problem since I have tried everything besides just using regular wm5, and someone posted that this is what lithium ion batteries usually do, so I'll give it a shot and report my findings after christmas, lol I hope I get a mda battery for christmas
anyone bought a new battery?
did it worked?
i´m still waiting for mine to arrive
I bought a new battery, but i cant say yet whether its working or not. It seems to work fine at times, and gives the same problem at other times. Not sure what acould be wrong....
Are you using TNT5 ROM? I've flashed two days ago this ROM to give WM6 a second go and my battery vanished like smoke... the battery that used to last for about 4 days, was gone in only half a day :\ I'm back to my ROM!
I'm using TNT5 for a few months now. All of a sudden i had batteryproblems. Tried everything but solved the problem with a fresh battery. Only 9 dollars on Ebay....
And now the phone is running smoothly again (lasts about 2 days)...
still waiting for mines to come should come wednesday, its getting worst and worst i used to be able to use it for at least an hour now only for about 15 min off the charger, when it says its at a 100%
I'm having a different kind of problem, except for the burst that I get after taking off power or after a soft reset, my battery life is exceptional. My last charge lasted about 7 hrs (including ebooks, mp3s, sms, and some phone calls).
I flashed XDA Mobile 6 Release 5 RC1 with .NET CF 3.5! recharging full battery. After flashing It showed low battery warning and when i restarted it, it showed full battery. And one hour later it swiched off. Now i flashed another rom .No problem yet.
Is there a rom that has fixed the battery issue we have with the G2x to read the proper info?

The eagles blood froyo is the only rom that will give you a really good accurate battery read... After that I would say faux's ASOP has been giving better reads since he worked on the driver but it is still wonky...
We are going to be stuck until LG/Tmo finally release our big update patch
I think the battery drain issue and the reboots are related. I have Battery Monitor widget on mine and After a phone call I saw my mA's go up to 234, so it was sucking juice. I saw it go up and up, to 431mA. Upon a reboot of the phone it goes back down to 2mA when not being used or being lightly used. When running like that the battery is amazing. But at times I see it spike up to 197mA and then start climbing. In order to stop this Himalayan climb in power use, I have to reboot the phone. My thinking is that the forced reboots could be part of the defective battery driver and the sudden surge of power use causes certain G2X's to reboot and get back to the 2mA range from 200mA+ range, on others you don't get the random reboot, but get this surge in power consumption. So if the battery drain is fixed it should also fix the random reboots and vice versa!

I also noticed this. I was checking the battery monitor and noticed that the current draw was quite high 200+ mah and almost immediately my phone shut down and I had to take out the battery to turn it back on again. Interestingly this has has only happened twice and only just last week. I've had this phone since launch day.
Also I found this article that perhaps might be of interest.

Is there a way to install the driver for blood froyo rom onto the stock rom? Since they are both froyo, I would think there must be a way for those of us that want to stick with stock for now.
Hi,
I was running MIUIXperience V5 and everything was fine till got a random reboot last evening and after that, battery started draining very fast doing nothing 20-25% in an hour. Mobile is heating up a lot now back side near camera and charging also became very slow (30-40% in 4 hours). Tried full wipe and reinstalling the ROM but still the same issue, wiped battery stats as well.
I was getting 25-35 hrs before this so doesn't look like a fault in battery. Any help will be highly appreciated. Thanks.
Seems a hardware issue to me. Maybe try to swamp battery's and see if the current one you're using is busted.

Thanks for your help but I still doubt the battery as when charging in powered off, it charge well & quickly as before
Can you try another ROM? If it would work ok with another ROM that would put the hardware suspicion aside. If it still keeps the same with a different ROM, then it's most definitively a hardware issue.

I have tried another ROM and same ROM with clean install, they seem good as before the issue but as soon as I enable root permissions, battery started to drain fast again (35% in an hour)
got a similar issue with mine, usually my battery stills 20hrs, and that's ok for my usage, I'm running brainmaster cm9, but same with CDA 2.0.0, randomly the phone, in some case after a reboot or disconnecting power cable, start to drain battery and become hot, in battery usage stats AndroidOS is the main issue and android.process.acore the resource that never sleep,
I think this can came from a bad deep idle management on some rom-kernels combo or ics 4.0.4 issue, but I nobody to say this...

I tried different MIUI Roms but issue remained same. Then I installed Androxide after full wipe and now seems to be working fine (72% after 7hrs). Still can't figure out what is the issue that different variants of MIUI Roms after clean install and battery starts to discharge heavily.
Tried going back to MIUI but probelm came again and after restoring to Androxide, again working fine

I suggest to install an app like Quick System Info anche see id there is a process running high on CPU usage: there you can see its log and try to understand what's happening...
BTW, I started to have some massive drain with the last CM9 nightlies: it was the Phone app that sucked all the juice in a few hours.
I wiped & reflashed dozen of times, checking if the drain was caused by some app, until I used Quick System Info and saw from the logs that the problem was the new 2g/3g toggle widget: I had set it to "3g preferred" but this caused a loop. Setting it to "2g only"/"3g only" fixed the issue.
First, MIUI is a Chinese ROM.
Second, Chinese things are always known for bad quality.
So MIUI is bad
Really, dude? Maybe you should take the tin foil hat off.
Hi there,
I'm using a almost 2-years old HTC Sensastion and I was having huge battery problems for the last few days.
It all started back in february when my phone started shutting itself off just like that, showing strange battery stats (after a phone-forced reboot, 70 % of my battery would be gone), etc. So I checked some threads on XDA and came to the conclusion that my standard HTC battery wasn't functioning properly anymore. Per the advice given by some users here, I bought an Anker 1900mAh which worked fine for the past few months.
Unfortunately, the problems started again last week. Loosing battery whithout even using the phone, weird reboots which resulted in an apparently empty battery, etc. I wiped everything but the sd card and installed a new rom, but that didn't solve the problem either. So I suspected the Anker battery - you never know if you get a somewhat broken battery...
I bought another Anker 1900 mAh battery last week, but my phone is still acting weird. I didn't have any more forced reboots, but sometimes the phone just shuts down without me doing anything. Unplugging the battery for a few seconds is the only way to get it started again.
For example yesterday: I used the music app and Sygic Aura as a navigation app for about 30 minutes (screen on the whole time). The phone had 100 % battery in the beginning and after I shut everything off, it still had 95%. 10 Minutes later though the battery dropped by (!) 10 %. Just like that.
I got home and kept the phone running for about 8 hours (just "sleeping"..no data connection, no wifi, no app running). After 4 hours, the battery lost 20 % just like that. I've installed some "battery apps" to get to the bottom of this:
8 hours of just laying there:
12 hours of just laying there:
----
I'm a little concerned that this might be hardware related and that I might have to get a new phone. Changing the battery didn't solve the problem. Could it be an overheating issue? When I got home yesterday I noticed that my phone was really hot (it was freaking hot in my car though as well...).
I've been using that MIUI rom for almost a year I reckon and I've never had any problems remotely to this, so I don't think it's a software problem (at least not ROM related).
I hope you can help me
probably i think there is no proper contact
did you try to put a piece of paper ibetween the pins to improve contact?
No, I haven't.Do you mean on top of the battery or should I put the piece of paper on the bottom of the phone so that it's like
Battery
Pins
Paper

on top of the battery
edit:try both ways
The Sensation is a bit funny in the way that it reports battery usage, and can jump all over the place even on light usage. Try rebooting if you get a big jump and see if it goes back up.
Edit: Woot 100th post!
That would mean that the Sensation shuts itself off because it misreads the battery percentage? That seems highly unlikely to me. But I'm no expert

You're on Miui i see you could try an new kernel to reduce it i recommend Sultan kernel but watch out you dont download the sense version
Sent from my HTC Sensation with JellyBam ROM
Press thanks if i helped!?
In last couple of days I uprageded ROM to miui 9 and problems with shut downs escalated. I wiped, and return to prevous ROM, and still got the issues.
I suppose the battery died, cause phone was shutting down lately on 50% and after plugin to charger the percanteges were rising like crazy (eg. in couple of minutes they rose to 80).
I wonder if it's possible to check if it's for sure battery fault, cause phone shuts down also during charging(but not so often) I can recreate the problem with doing something heavy or opening snapchat app, don't know if it's important...
My main question is: is there any program that saves logs or anything like this to assure it's time for a battery change?
Thanks.

There is only a (simple) hardware method. I posted earlier on the subject here https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=72237880&postcount=6
If your result is substantially lower than 3.2Ah, then it is time to replace the battery.
:good:
I coudn't do that cause phone was shutting down after short time (sometime after 20 seconds, and sometime after 5 minutes) working on battery. I decided to change battery for a new one and it's working fine
