I've recently started having this problem. I charged my wizard overnight, saw the battery was 100%, then as soon as i removed the charger, it drops to around 80%. If i follow this with a soft reset, it drops to 50%. During normal usage the drainage isn't so sudden, but it is still a lot faster than usual. For e.g. a 20 min video would drain 30% of the battery.
My extended rom is clear, I first installed the 2.26 tmob rom, then wrcx1, so I dont think that should be an issue. I've installed the power saving cabs as well. What else could be the problem? I'd really hate to have to switch to another rom just to sort this out...
Forgot to add, this is a recent problem. I used to get excellent battery life, this has just suddenly started happening. I haven't changed my charger or battery.
which BS are you using?
I was using the latest BS release (0263 i think) but have removed it from my today screen and still the problem is persisting...
Battery... that's what driving me crazy now! With WM5, I can use my device almost 2,5 days with lots call/sms and solitaire. Tried 3 WM6 version and couldnot save the O2 life last more than 3 hours (uncontinuosly). Please any one help to solve this.... (
Sounds like either your battery is screwed (they DO go bad after a year or two) OR you've got one seriously ****ed up ROM.
By the way, BatterySpace is known to do this if you use the dynamic overclocking. Somehow something in the ROM or Registry gets trashed, and then the system will peg the CPU at 100%.
This will WASTE the battery like nobody's business! Once this happens the only fix is a HARD RESET - I've not figured out what's getting scrambled, but whatever it is, a reboot doesn't fix it.
Shut off the dynamic overclocking if you're using it and see if the problem goes away.
I just had the same erratic behavior from my battery, it was over a year old. It would charge to 100%, but when off the charger strength would read random levels and drain really fast. I could kill the battery in about 30 minutes of browsing web pages.
A new battery solved it.

OK, thanks!
Now I'm thinking about downgrade to WM5 to check wherther battery died or not, before buy a new one.
I have the same issue on the g3 wizard connected thru tmobile us running the bd3 rom. I have had excellent battery life in the past but in the past 3 days or so the battery status is just inaccurate. The main prob is that when you go connect to the internet 5 min later the device restarts and sometimes it just keeps restarting in a loop. Then sometimes it restarts but battery is at critical, when before it was at 80%.
But i noticed when it gets stuck in the boot loop, just stick it on the charger for a sec and it will start back up fine, but then die after a couple phone calls or so.
I have also cleared the rom thinking it was some battery drain issue that usually happens when you don't flash the original rom before you flash a cooked one. I installed the tmobile original one and then flashed "boring rom for tmobile". That rom works quite well. But the battery is still draining.
I also changed the radio rom from the 2.69 and now went to the 02.25.11 but still the same issue.
I didn't try running straight wm5 and see if it did it their, but the previous poster is trying it so ill see if that worked for him or not.
The next step is to try a new battery but this battery is only like a year old
Believe me when I tell 'ya that Lithium Ion batteries, when they die, do so exactly like this.
Try a new battery.

mine is doing the same thing..
if i start any aplication that requests more procesing, the device keeps rebooting, even if the battery was indicating 100% when i started using it
if i plug the charger when he is rebooting, he comes back to life 80-100% charged..
if i do not use it, and leave him on stand by, the battery lasts for like 2 days without any issues.
Draining in Sudden Bursts! Sounds like it feels good.
well i guess i will just get a new battery and hope that solves the problem since I have tried everything besides just using regular wm5, and someone posted that this is what lithium ion batteries usually do, so I'll give it a shot and report my findings after christmas, lol I hope I get a mda battery for christmas
anyone bought a new battery?
did it worked?
i´m still waiting for mine to arrive
I bought a new battery, but i cant say yet whether its working or not. It seems to work fine at times, and gives the same problem at other times. Not sure what acould be wrong....
Are you using TNT5 ROM? I've flashed two days ago this ROM to give WM6 a second go and my battery vanished like smoke... the battery that used to last for about 4 days, was gone in only half a day :\ I'm back to my ROM!
I'm using TNT5 for a few months now. All of a sudden i had batteryproblems. Tried everything but solved the problem with a fresh battery. Only 9 dollars on Ebay....
And now the phone is running smoothly again (lasts about 2 days)...
still waiting for mines to come should come wednesday, its getting worst and worst i used to be able to use it for at least an hour now only for about 15 min off the charger, when it says its at a 100%
I'm having a different kind of problem, except for the burst that I get after taking off power or after a soft reset, my battery life is exceptional. My last charge lasted about 7 hrs (including ebooks, mp3s, sms, and some phone calls).
I flashed XDA Mobile 6 Release 5 RC1 with .NET CF 3.5! recharging full battery. After flashing It showed low battery warning and when i restarted it, it showed full battery. And one hour later it swiched off. Now i flashed another rom .No problem yet.

I recently upgraded to WM6 ROM, "Jwrightmcps Crossbow ROM Update 2.02.02 WWE", and all went well.
But then at 40% battery my phone died... and this is very similar to a problem I used to had in WM5.
Can anyone tell me which WM6 ROM doesnt cause the battery problem?
For the record, I don't think either my phone or PDA is damaged. The last time I had this problem, I went back to the service center (several times I might add), and they replaced everything eventually (both PDA and Battery). Since then it has worked fine (for about 6mths+), until I flashed to the WM6 ROM.
**** man, I hope this has not damaged my device. Out of warranty already.
I had a similar problem and also initially didn't beleive it could be the battery, but guess what -- getting a new battery solved almost all problems I had including the phone dying at 40% or above. So it might be worth a try...
IT"S YOUR BATTERY
Just trust me
the battery 'dies' after like 6 to 12 months. It just goes bad in a week.
Mine went out on like 20%, then a week later on 54%
replacing it fixes it.
mine crashes over 20%.... the battery it's new
I had same problem with battery, then I buy new battery from ebay, and then the battery status was OK it goes from 100- 4% with warning and everything. But the problem was that battery last only a couple of hours, even aftzer a few days nothing change I must have charger with me all the time.
Then I search the forum and found someons solution, that works for me too.
Just charge the battery full take the cable out and put it in again a couple of times so the battery is realy full charged, the put the device in bootloader mode by pressing Power + Light + Reset, which brings up an un-backlit screen with "Serial" at the top, and "v0.XX" at the bottom. And then just put your device somewhere and dont touch it until it died that coul be the all day. Anyway next day I put the charger in and again didnt touc for all day. And my problems are gone, the battery since then last fortwo or three days if I dont use it much.
Hope that will help somebody
Dears,
i used to read about this issue in the forum again and again.....so i desided to wrote this post....everyone was claming the battery is the reason....OK do not belive this.....it is the rom.....i used the wm6 for sometime and i was facing the same problem....and when my carrier started the 3G i had to switch back to wm5.....and now my device never turns off before i get notified that my battery level is too low it about 10% of the battery....so if you do not belive me just do this test....switch back to wm5...i am using now Hilme 3.5 v1.3.1

Mine dies at 35% with wm6 and wm5 and my old battery, but never dies with my new battery.
Use Radio 1.15
My battery life increased by 200% just by upgrading to this radio ROM.
same here
i m also sufrer of same problem. now after this forum i m confused
Here is the simple fact of the matter:
Batteries are EXTREMELY complicated pieces of equipment
They often give false readings because the chemical reaction that creates the electricity is easily affected by heat\age\use\etc. Also, the electronics that measure the temperature are based on the false assumption that the battery drains in a predictable way down to the same level.
Your battery draining quicker\slower and dying when it says it has charge may be because of the ROM. However, this is HIGHLY unlikely. What is most likely the cause is external factors (eg heat, number of programs running, etc) or that the battery has "died" or become unreliable.
Recommendation: Try different batteries, and remember that batteries have a chemical reaction, before posting here
I don't know... I started having problems as well just after a ROM upgrade... but it was an official ROM upgrade. I start thinking this has something to do with the upgrade process, like some setting being "wiped out" during the upgrade and the battery going "out of sync" with the device, reporting the wrong battery level...
But, more likely, this is just a psycological effect, you install the new rom and then start playing a lot with the device to find the improvements, and you begin noticing the problem for the first time!
My relatively new I-mate JasJar also started dying when the battery level reached 40% the day i flashed WM6.
i posted here, trying to explain that it was perfectly alright 2 days back, prior to WM6.. pointless to say, everyone still said it was the battery 100%
well.. i got a new battery.. and it did indeed solve the problem.
but guess what.
i flashed WM5 back, and both batteries work fine there.
not sure what the heck is going on here.. but i'm certain there are two fixes:
- flash WM5 back on.
- get a new battery and stay with WM6

I used to think like you, but now I beg to differ, my dead battery never usable under any OS.
It used to be always dead at some % starting from as low as 0 (good ones) and increase until now it is permanent dead at 100%. I have all your intermediate voltages before reaching 100%.
If your's still usable than your battery is not complete dead yet or half dead or maybe soon to be dead.
By the way, I am using helmi_c aku3.5 v1.3 (add on version) as compared to v1.3.1 (vanilla version).
One last thing, please do use big bold characters in forum, sounds like shouting. Thanks!
You cannot judge the battery is old or new by just months.
This older version of Universal battery, it counts by number of time charged I think, inserting in USB for a sync and remove would probably counted as 1 charge.
I now do not sync using those working condition battery, I change to my dead battery for sync purpose.
As I sync only contacts, now Dotfred has a tool and now I hardly use sync anymore.
By the way, there is one guy in this same forum start another thread without reading this (closest info) or all other previous threads.
People like this deserved to be flamed, but I didnt.
IMHO WM6 uses and drains the battery different then WM5
My experience is that everyone that has problems with their device dying just switched to WM6. It has nothing to do with the WM6 itself, it's just that WM6 is more 'sensitive' to a low battery output then WM5. So if you switch back to WM5 it looks like it might 'solve' your problem but in the end the battery will die, it'll just take a little bit longer before WM5 appears to have problems.
You'll postpone the problem for a little while but it's not a fix
Just my 2 cents

Mine still working very good at WM5 as i told you.....just let the battery get off and recharge it till full....now mine is working great and keep working until 10% or less
The point is that WM6 treets the battery and power in different way then WM5. First when you upgrade to wm6 and start it first time it assumes that battery is full (the instruction says that you should charge your battery before uploding new ROM). If the battery was not fully charged then you have a problem. WM6 registers the point of current while starting first time and assumes that this level represents the fully charged batteryl. Then it is programmed for consumption of power according to processor cycles, so after such and such time of use of your device it should reach certain level of power. If your battery was not charged full at the start then it will always show false percantage.
The solution is to fully charge the battery (possibly using the way described in some post above) and then reload the ROM once more.
Of cource when you buy a new battery, WM6 registers this (each battery has unic number) and creats new pattern for this battery. That is way it is so importatnt to properly charge the new battery when you load it first time.
Hope this is helpful.

I have 3 original batteries.
In principle, good battery can goes to perfect 0%.
First battery started half dead (that is phone is dead 30%) after upgrade from WM5 AKU1 to WM5 AKU2 happen to be around 6 months after I start using the phone, I thought it was the problem with WM5 AKU2 ROM. My usage pattern of this battery is that I charge anytime I wish with Power charger and also during sync. This battery is still with me now after 1 year I have encounter the problem. The dead % grow (no change of ROM) until now it is around 100%, that is phone is dead just before it goes to 99%.
Second battery was bought the same time my first battery has problem, 1 year passed. Usage pattern are, never use this battery for sync or short connections to PC USB, never charge my battery until it is 0% (always possible) or less than 5%, never upgrade ROM using this battery. Always charge to LED turns GREEN & always sync & upgrade ROM with the dead stuck at 100% battery. 1 year has gone, the second is still able to reach 0% till now with battery last average 1 to 3 days, normally 2 days & sometimes 4 days depends on usage pattern.
Third battery, claim by vendor that some electronics is modified compared to the those bought last year. Charged this battery, use a few time to check if it is an ok battery, need to do this as I have ever bought brand new dead battery last year. After confirmed it is a good battery, I continue using the second battery and third battery always carry along as backup in case I used up the second battery.
Hope my usage pattern can help some of you to have optimal use of the battery and do not let the manufacturer earn extra money due to the problem in the old version of the battery. Anyway, this original battery will be discontinued soon due to end of life of this product. Guess I will have to look forward of getting imitations when my second & third battery is gone or maybe when my phone is gone too.

Bought HTC Touch HD second hand -(nearly new) the other day and think it's great. Had one locked password screen ( HTC's have habit of doing this occasionally) and needed hard reset, but in the whole great PDA.
However, couple of times now battery charged night before and checked in morning - only two bars gone. Then an hour later gone to turn phone on and it has no battery life in at all. Not been used except for perhaps alarm. No WIfi on and no programs running. This has happened twice now. I have updated to the latest ROM as soon as I got it and problems hae occured after that. Could this be the reason.
It has only happend in the mornings. Charging up fine again now, but has left me high & dry without warning. p.s I check battery life all the time but it just went from nearly full to none in an hour??? Why

Any ActiveSync / Messaging / IM / other data-pull services active? What is the signal strength in your area? I live in a strange area: in my room I sometimes have 70% strength, ten minutes later only 10% - maybe this drains your battery.
turned off 3g
Noticed since I turned off 3 G battery life has been great. I t did searchquite a bit on H and 3g. perhaps this was the battery eater. Cheers anyway.
May also want to check your running apps as harddisk_wp was discussing. I had a very similar issue come up with my Kaiser/Tilt a few years back. I went from having great battery life to having maybe 2 hours max. Was carrying a second battery, etc., etc... Come to find out, the problem wasn't with my battery, it was with the software the phone was running. Specifically, that time, Emoze. The PC Connector was causing a problem (corrupt file) and every time it connected, it sent a pile of data, failed, then reconnected, and continued the loop, over..and over..and over again...
Needless to say, I corrected the problem (Emoze support made suggestions, a few weeks later I was gone from Emoze completely). Anything using data, heavy or not, can effect your battery life dramatically. Your 3G of course will drain it more, as will WiFi, but in my experience it is related to the data being processed itself...
-John
Thxs for that. Since I disconnected from 3G battery life has been great. End of each day still only two bars gone with lots of use. Ryan
^^yep, that darn 3G can suck the guts out of these batteries!
Hello. I am dealing with an extremely fast battery drain issue. My battery can drain from a full charge in onlt seven or eight hours even in standby. I can have a full charcge, make or recieve no calls, and look agian in twi hours and have %70 percent or less. I have tried a new factory battery and it is the same. Now the battery life during use is the same. I can talk for an hour, ant the battery has only drained about ten or fifteen percent, about the same as if I am not talking. It is almost as if it is alway transmitting at full power. It does not matter if I close everything, turn off data, and even run a clean ram program. If I go to sleep at night with a full charge, it is dead in the morning.
specs,
Factory Rom, Factory radio. Touch pro disabled with some today screen plugins like a clock and a launcher.
please help.
Yes I am new, and yes I used search and read several threads about battery life. I did not find resolution.
Thanks, Drew

I think you should flash a Rom.If may seem you have less battery at first but after it settles you will get a good week maybe.I normally get 5 days with alerts,Music etc.
Try this!
Try to play a music in TouchFLO 3D Music Tab or Windows Media Player, then press the power button (on the top of the device). The music should stop playing, if the music doesn't stop, there's something wrong with your Raphael.
no, the music stops like it should.
I had this issue once with custom ROM and hardreset solved it.
same here, i had this problem a couple of days ago, it is then that i realized that the Radio Version should be accompanied by it corresponding Rilphone. now i have a better battery performance
I have the exact problem, thing is though I have the default ROM. Should I flash it with a custom one for it to last longer? I went to the store where I bought it from and they recommended me to upgrade the soft or do a reset. Meh, I'll try everything, only for it to last me more than a day...
This sounds like a stupid idea, but what about throwing the device into "airplane" mode for the night? Maybe on a night that you're not going to expect calls. This can rule out the radio portion of the phone as the drainer and possibly point the fault domain towards a runaway application. Or - it could show that something is cranking on the data during suspend.
I've had some of the best battery life recently with 1.14.25.35. My initial runs with it were about the same as .05, but in Columbus Ohio my reception seems to be good enough that the radio backs down and I have >90% charge after 4 hours of standby/light phone use.
In Chicago a few weeks ago, my signal wasn't as good and the phone dropped capacity significantly faster.... so it's not all about the radio for me, but decent reception helps.
Hey all,
About three weeks ago I had a strange problem. I noticed that in two straight charge cycles, my battery life plummeted from about 80% to zero in just a few hours. I'm not sure what the issue was. I hadn't changed settings, installed new apps, etc. My first screenshot shows an example of what happened. 4G and data were off during the entire time.
Since then, things have been okay. I typically get 3 days standby with 4G on and light use, or 4 days with 4G off. That's mostly standby with maybe an hour or so of talking and minimal use.
After those strange battery plummets, I installed and used GSam Battery Monitor to get more details about what processes were running on my phone in case I noticed the sharp drop happening again. Everything had been fine for over two weeks, with me getting expected battery life before this issue and not experiencing any odd, sudden drops (maybe 5 or 6 charge cycles). This lends me to conclude that my battery's charge capacity is okay, and calibration also shouldn't be an issue.
However, the problem arose once again a couple days ago. Went from 75% to nothing in just a few hours. 4G was off during that time. The third and fourth screenshots show the same issue. Charged my phone, and this morning the same thing happened yet again. At about 90% the plummet began, and within an hour or so I was at 75%. At this point I took screenshots of Android's battery status, and I also did the same for GSam to show what apps and processes were running. The phone's temperature seemed fine.
The GSam screenshots taken when the phone was at 75% and dropping are in the next post, since I'm limited to four images in this one. I have no idea what's causing this massive, sudden battery drain. The only thing I can think of is that I've done Verizon's OTA updates, but otherwise pretty much all my settings, apps, and usage are the same. Plus, for two weeks I had normal battery behavior, so I'm completely baffled.
I also know that cell standby is incorrectly reported in the GS3 battery screen, and I'm getting a good signal where I live so that shouldn't be a problem. I forgot to get screen time for the first case (first two images), but it shouldn't be more than 10-15 min there since most of the charge was lost due to the freak plummet.
If anyone may have an idea of what's going on, or if there are some tools/tests I may use to figure this out, I'd really appreciate it. I turned off my phone after taking the screenshots at 75%, so if I need to turn it on and check something for you I can probably do that. Thanks a lot.
FYI, here are GSam screenshots from when the battery was in the process of plummeting this morning.
i think you built in battery status settings are off. i barely get 12 hrs with medium use, so what i think it happens is that the battery monitor is not showing the proper discharge, and then all of a sudden it catches up to the discharge rate.
are you on stock rom, rooted, unlocked bootloader?

I am stock rom. No rooting, no unlocking.
These plunges are definitely an anomaly. Truly, with me barely using the phone and turning off mobile data, I get a few days of standby. I've had the phone since July, and the aberration in battery behavior has been the steep plunges I've shown.
In between these instance of steep plunges, I've had normal use. I really don't think it's an issue of calibration. Please believe me when I say that my normal, light use during the past four months gets me anywhere from 3-5 days with me barely using the phone. When I say barely using it, I mean not even touching it for an entire day if nobody calls me. But now, a sudden plunge in battery life is happening at 80% with no apparent reason.
I think it might be some kind of software or hardware glitch, but it's impossible for this to be normal given the battery life I typically get. Just looking at that steep drop, it's crazy and just happens out of nowhere.
But please trust me when I say that these sudden plunges that have happened a total of 4 or 5 times, causing the battery to drain completely in a few hours when I'm not touching it, are quite a drastic aberration from the normal standby life I get. Something is definitely wrong here, I just don't know what.
And one more thing to add is that after this sudden plunge and rapid drain, charging the battery still takes the normal time it does when I'm not having this issue. That is, about 2.5-3 hours to reach a full charge (and I charge with the phone 'off'). The battery is being completely drained. But this happened twice, then didn't happen for maybe 5-6 charge cycles, then happened again twice.
Before the first instance, I remember an OTA Verizon update around 10/5. My phone was okay for 2-3 charge cycles after that. Then two rapid drains. Then 5-6 normal cycles. Then two more rapid drains. There was a second Verizon OTA update somewhere in there but I can't remember.
and you said it only started once you did the OTA update from verizon right? well you could either try to go back to the stock verizon rom pre-update and see what happens there, or contact verizon and let them know what happens with the new OTA update. they could replace your phone, or it could be a bug of the new OTA update. i am on stock rom and rooted and deleted the apk that kept on trying to push the update. just unlocked by bootloader and so far my battery life has improved compared to previous locked bootloader.
i would take it to a verizon store and show them. They might give you a new battery.
I may have to do that. I'm just not really sure what the issue is.
- The battery can still hold a full charge.
- Based on running services, nothing is causing high CPU usage.
- The sudden plummet almost seems kind of random.
- Since there have been normal charge cycles, it's not an issue of calibration.
I'm not sure if this is a hardware issue or software issue. I'm trying to wrap my brain around what could cause the battery to drain so suddenly and sharply. Could the charge somehow be "leaking"? But in that case I'd expect it to happen all the time. If there's an underlying software issue, is there any other tool I might be able to use to figure it out?
Does the phone get hot?

Not from what I can tell. Note that the first couple plummet drains were overnight.
But today I caught it before noon. The phone wasn't hot, and the GSam screenshots show no CPU stress.
Maybe you can do a factory reset and se if that helps. They will probably do one if you bring it to verizon anyways. It sure sound like a hardware problem. You'd think if the processors are working that hard that the phone would get hot, I know mine gets pretty hot sometimes under heavy use.

Thing is, all indications show the CPU isn't working hard, and the phone wasn't hot.
I'm stumped.
This is a noobish question, but I presume the only way to go back to stock is to factory reset? One thing I might wait for is the Jelly Bean update, presuming this random drain holds off until then.
But yea, I dread going into VZW because they're just going to try to pass this off onto me doing something wrong, or me not knowing how to calibrate the battery, etc. The information I've provided in my OP and in the screenshots would fly over their heads. Maybe I can just do an online chat and tell VZ to send me another battery?
The only other thing I can think of is that sometime before these plummets happened, I went online to MyVerizon and turned off the Backup Assistant for movies/music/etc. so I wouldn't get all those notifications. I don't think this could be the issue, since the plummet happens when data is off. Plus, GSam would show that Backup Assistant is hogging the CPU or forcing a signal.
I doubt swapping batteries will fix it, though. I'm thinking my internal hardware might have a serious problem.

Before the update, was everything normal?
Is the update with the HE base/baseband?
It probably isn't a hardware problem, just a bad base.
I've noticed after updating my GS3 to the HE base and the battery life was just horrid.
It's said that the new HE baseband uses up more battery also

Sorry, I don't know what you mean by "HE" base/baseband.
But yea, this problem didn't come up until after an OTA update.
Check your baseband version under Settings -> About and paste it here

It's I535VRLHE
Kernel version: 3.0.8-1092717
Build number IMM76D.I535VRALHE
I turned on the phone and within 10 min or so the battery life went down by 2-3% without me doing anything. As a test I've put it into Airplane mode, and it's decreased by about 2% in 45 min.
Now I'm wondering if I have a faulty antenna or something.
Yup ive had it drain 90% overnight many times for no reason. Called verizon and my new battery should be here today.
1+ day on battery and only 11 minutes of screen time?!?

HE is the baseband version and the build number. For example I have: Android Version: 4.0.4
Baseband: I535VRLG7
Build: IM76D.I535VRALG7
which is the version before the update.
Like everybody else said, call Verizon or go to a store and let them know about the battery issues and they should send you a new one. Or even call Samsung and tell them you bought an S3 through Verizon and you are having battery hardware issues.

Well, no calls made or received during that time. No data being used.
So, wasn't really using the phone during that time...
Hi there,
I'm using a almost 2-years old HTC Sensastion and I was having huge battery problems for the last few days.
It all started back in february when my phone started shutting itself off just like that, showing strange battery stats (after a phone-forced reboot, 70 % of my battery would be gone), etc. So I checked some threads on XDA and came to the conclusion that my standard HTC battery wasn't functioning properly anymore. Per the advice given by some users here, I bought an Anker 1900mAh which worked fine for the past few months.
Unfortunately, the problems started again last week. Loosing battery whithout even using the phone, weird reboots which resulted in an apparently empty battery, etc. I wiped everything but the sd card and installed a new rom, but that didn't solve the problem either. So I suspected the Anker battery - you never know if you get a somewhat broken battery...
I bought another Anker 1900 mAh battery last week, but my phone is still acting weird. I didn't have any more forced reboots, but sometimes the phone just shuts down without me doing anything. Unplugging the battery for a few seconds is the only way to get it started again.
For example yesterday: I used the music app and Sygic Aura as a navigation app for about 30 minutes (screen on the whole time). The phone had 100 % battery in the beginning and after I shut everything off, it still had 95%. 10 Minutes later though the battery dropped by (!) 10 %. Just like that.
I got home and kept the phone running for about 8 hours (just "sleeping"..no data connection, no wifi, no app running). After 4 hours, the battery lost 20 % just like that. I've installed some "battery apps" to get to the bottom of this:
8 hours of just laying there:
12 hours of just laying there:
----
I'm a little concerned that this might be hardware related and that I might have to get a new phone. Changing the battery didn't solve the problem. Could it be an overheating issue? When I got home yesterday I noticed that my phone was really hot (it was freaking hot in my car though as well...).
I've been using that MIUI rom for almost a year I reckon and I've never had any problems remotely to this, so I don't think it's a software problem (at least not ROM related).
I hope you can help me
probably i think there is no proper contact
did you try to put a piece of paper ibetween the pins to improve contact?
No, I haven't.Do you mean on top of the battery or should I put the piece of paper on the bottom of the phone so that it's like
Battery
Pins
Paper
?

on top of the battery
edit:try both ways
The Sensation is a bit funny in the way that it reports battery usage, and can jump all over the place even on light usage. Try rebooting if you get a big jump and see if it goes back up.
Edit: Woot 100th post!
That would mean that the Sensation shuts itself off because it misreads the battery percentage? That seems highly unlikely to me. But I'm no expert
