Endymion v2.2 phone is restarting on every 20 mins - HTC Desire S

Hi Guys,
I am new in this forum although I am reading specific threads almost every day. I am currently using Endymion v2.2 and I am pretty happy form it. Previously I've tried some other ROMs but I think Endy is mine ROM.
In version 2.1 it was undervolted with -50 and it was working stable on my HTC Desire S. So when I've installed v2.2 from time to time I was UV it with -50. However after restart everytime it goes back to default state. So today my phone restarted incidently (happen about once per 1 or 2 days) and I've UV it with -50. After pressing Save and Activate permanently my phone freezed. No keys were working. After that it is restarting on every 20 mins. In fact it is alive for 1-5 mins, freezing for 15 mins and restarting itself. I've tried to boot it in recovery mode and deleted all types of cache (probably bad decission) but no change. I will be very thankfull if anyone have any ideas (Alternatevelly I could try to wipe and install v2.0 from scratch since it is the only one I have on the SD card)
Thanks a lot!

I know that probably this is not the best thread for this but forum rules do not allow me to post anything on Dev forums until I have 10 post or more.

Change the U/V to -25 and if that doesn't work put them to default !
Also did you Underclock it?

I've tried with default and even with +25 (current one) but there is no difference.

You don't have setCPU installed by anychance?

I haven't overclocked it further. I am using default settings comming with v2.2 (I think by default it is OC to 1075)
(Sorry for the slow reponse but as a new member I can post just once per 5 mins)

I never had setCPU but I have Juice Defender (free version) but probably it is not related to this issue.

Thats ok did you update OC/UV Beater2 as there were issues with newer versions above 1.5?

One interesting fact:
When phone is freezing all keys are not working. However I can call it! It gives a free signal but it doesn't rings. So maybe it is 'sleeping' somehow.....

To me that sounds like an under clocking or under volting problem problem

No - I haven't update it. The version is the 'stock' one included in the ROM. I think it is v1.5

Most probably since the problem begins when I've tried to do -50 in UV. But now according to OC/UV Beater2 UV is by default and OC is using the default setting which are comming from the ROM. I've revoke permissions to this application from Superuser but nothing changed

Any ideas how to swich off Undervolting/Overclocking?
Unfortunatelly I should be quite fast since I have usually 1-2 mins before next restart. (Today probably the phone restarted at least 20 times.)
I am also having my phone in the charger. I do know that I should not pull the battery in any case.

I have to travel so I will be back after about 3h. Since my phone is unuseful I will not be able to respond to this thread before I am getting back home.
Thanks to all for the help

Agreed, seems something wrong with of/iv beater. Please uninstall it completelly, by doing this (i assume you know how to use adb):
- reboot to recovery and connect USB cable
- adb remount
- delete the app from /data/app , don't quite recall the name, but its obvious once you see it
- delete /system/etc/init.d/98setvddconfig
- reboot
See if this helps.
Cheers
--edit--
If you don't have time, the really important part is deleting the file in /system/etc/init.d

I've just installed Android SDK and JDK Will try to delete it on next restart probably after 10-15 mins or in worst case in next-next restart - about 30 mins. Will let you know as soon as I have some more info.

I was not quick enough in first attempt (since I had less than a min). I run ES File explorer and tried to find /system. By default it was on /sdcard and I do not know how to go to root folder and then to system (hope next time to have more time before freeze)
Btw now the phone is frozen quite funny because of back button press it is vibrating
Updated:
found this on Internet: menu->settings->root options-> check "Root Explorer" Will try it on next restart
Root Explorer option is swiched on. Now it says that /system should be mount

Sorry maybe a dumb question:S
But I think I will not have time to copy the file. Probably there is a way in recovery mode...I will google for this...

[Q] Step by Step?

Hey guys!
Noob here who has flashed other phones in the past, but never anything Android based. Is there a step by step guide anywhere for the Mesmerize? Something generic and simple to follow from post root to a fully flashed phone?
Thanks for any input.
Tyler
Well our moderator is nowhere to be seen.. we should have a step by step sticked.. but we don't.
1) Root your phone. Search the forums to figure out how to do that.
2) Install RomManager and the ClockworkMod Recovery. There's a thread for that as well.
3) Download and install the ROM of your choice. Roms are located in the Dev Forums.
The details can be found in the Mesmerize General and the Mesmerize Development Forums. Search is your friend.

When I began this process about 2 weeks ago, I was at the same experience level as you Tyler. This is what worked easiest for me for my US Cellular Mesmerize.
(I'm just going to elaborate a bit on what Dcow posted, hopefully he doesn't mind .
Also keep in mind there are many variations to each step, this is what worked for me the easiest as a newb, hoping it does for you too.
And last but not least. There is always the disclaimer that attempting any of this can and will make your phone dysfunctional and or possibly bricked beyond repair (but most likely just dysfunctional which is a pain in the arse to deal with) if you do not follow steps completely (and of a trustworthy source such as xda).
So take your time, read each step that these people have taken the time to carefully write up, and you'll be just fine. Be patient as things don't always move fast and you never want to freak out as you may screw things up bad, when it's actually just taking longer than you would expect. There is alot going on behind the scenes so just give it time, trust me!
1) Root your phone. - Basically all this means is gaining the ability to give programs/apps and yourself SuperUser access (equivalent of being admin in windows) and also the ability to flash roms via recovery, detailed below.
The easiest way to root is to acquire the z4root.apk.
Download Here
After download, put z4root.apk on your SD card root directory
Then make sure in Settings->Applications that the "Unknown sources" box is checked.
If you don't have a file manager, download a free one from the market, using the file manager navigate to the z4root.apk and select to install it.
Reboot your phone
After it boots, open the z4root app and press root. At this point it is going to hang, give it 2 minutes and pull the battery. Count to 10, put it back in and turn it on. - This is normal, trust me.
After it reboots open z4root again and run it, this time it will run no problems and phone will reboot.
Once you are rooted (you will see the superuser icon in your apps, it will show apps you've given that permission to eventually) you will need to make sure you have a file manager that can request root permissions (read/write) before you will be able to complete the next step. Search the market for "root file manager" and pick one to download and install.
Also at this step I would download and install RomManager and TerminalEmulator as you will need these later.
2) Install RomManager and the ClockworkMod Recovery. These will basically just give you the ability to boot into recovery where you can more easily flash kernel's/rom's and anything else you wish to push to your phone.
I was able to install the Clockwork Mod Recovery very easily just by simply using the root file manager app I downloaded with these instructions.
Download the two zip files located in the first post here
Place both files on your SD card root
Using the root file explorer app, move the Redbend_ua file from the SD card to /system/xbin/
Long press on the Redbend_ua file and click permissions, there should be one check missing, check that.
Now open the TerminalEmulator
NOTE:The spaces below are actual spaces and the bml8 is a lowercase "L" not a "1" there is also a space after cd, after redbend_ua, after restore, and after recovery.bin
TYPE THIS ALL EXACTLY AS SHOWN BETWEEN THE QUOTES
at the command line ($) type "su" (then hit enter)
Type "cd /system/xbin" (then hit enter, which changes directory)
Type "redbend_ua restore /sdcard/recovery.bin /dev/block/bml8" (then hit enter, It will now scroll a bunch of text and reboot.)
After phone boots, open RomManager
Click on Flash ClockworkMod Recovery
Select the Samsung Fascinate your phone will still be the mesmerize
At this point you're all stock and ready for new kernel/rom.
3) Install Voodoo lagfix kernel and new 5.0 sound
If you want speed and good battery life (and high standard marks) +unlocking the headphone amp and eq controls (it makes even the samsung headset sound killer) go here and follow those steps for using your now functional recovery mode to flash the new Voodoo 5.0 kernel.
Note: There are a few ways of getting into this recovery mode, the best way if all else fails is to hold phone from the back with left hand (thumb on volume button, in the middle holding both down and pointer on power button) hold these down until the mesmerize logo pops up then slide your thumb down a bit to volume down only (if you slip don't worry it might blink but it'll still go to recovery)
Note: If you are more code/computer oriented there is a method using a program called ADB, which I'm not familiar with and seemed more complicated than what I went with. Search for that on the forum if you wish to do the above process that way instead.
4) Download and install the ROM of your choice.
Just pick one from this list Here, read through the first post of each before you decide, some are plug and play some take a few steps first.
Credit goes to all of the OP's and many others included in my sig, these people are awesome show them some love!

I check in on all my forums many times per day (even at work ) so if I miss something, please feel free to PM me anytime and I'll try to help where I can
I'll get in touch with bdemartino regarding getting a guide together that I can sticky
In the meantime Ill move this to general.
I few days ago I found an explanation here on how to do this:
http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php/1694111-Installing-Clockwork-and-Voodoo-onto-the-Samsung-Mesmerize
(The same explanation bdemartino gave here today)
1. I used the files from there. How do I tell if I am running voodoo5?
2. If its not the same, I've read that I can install voodoo5 over another voodoo, correct?
3. Is anyone having trouble with 3g, vibrate, etc...on the mez? I saw in the voodoo5 thread that a few people were having trouble with these things. I couldn't tell if they were fascinate, mesmerize or captivate.

That is the old Voodoo kernel, you will need to go to the link I listed in my post for Voodoo 5, and yes you can simply disable lagfix and flash the new one over the old.
And no problems on the write up, I spent a good amount of time digging up the links and stuff but I'll spend a little more time polishing it and will post it in another thread for Scotsman to stickie.
And to answer your last question, no I'm having no problems with any functions of my phone after upgrading to voodoo 5.
Thanks for the write up and nice job on it too. It seems, sometimes when people try and tell others how to do something, they don't break it down enough. But you did and made it easy for us noobs. Thanks again.
My clockwork ( or voodoo, not sure) didn't come with a "disable lag-fix" button. I just have to create an empty file called "disable_lagfix". I'm just unclear where to put it. I saw it somewhere before I just have to find it

There isn't a button, per se. When you go in to recovery, there is a disable lagfix option under voodoo. You can put the file, disable_lagfix, in the voodoo folder on your sdcard to do the same thing.
He does write up a good how-to, though, doesn't he.
Haha thanks guys, and you're welcome!
I think the reason you don't usually see this much detail from others is because they are more developmentally enabled and therefore "forget" to break down the little steps that are second nature to them but foreign language to a non-developer.
Thanks. I found it. and disabled it aready. now i just download the file in the write-up and boot into recovery, install zip from sd card and select my file correct?
I always wipe dalvik cache (in advance settings within Recover) before flashing anything.
So it's;
Disable Lagfix
Reboot (you'll hear the chick reversing the process)
Clear Dalvik
Install voodoo 5.0 from zip
reboot
re-enable lagfix and reboot one last time.
Then you'll need to download the voodoo controller app from the market to control the amp gain and set a few other eq settings.
Man you guys are fast. Thanks for the quick replies. WOW
Ive done all that except re-enable lag-fix. Noone ever mentions that step. Do I just remove the "disable_lagfix" file from the voodoo file and reboot?
I just enable/disable it through the voodoo menu in recovery, much easier than pushing files around. In your case i think you should be able to delete the file and reboot, but if not you may just need to go into voodoo and enable it that way (after removing the disable file)
I guess if I edit a post and dont finish it, the post gets deleted. Oh well, I asked how to reenalbe lag fix but i figured it out. Like I said I had to put the disable lag_fix file in the voodoo folder. I just had to remove it from that folder.
Is there a way to tell (besides the quickness and the extended battery life) how do i tell if its voodoo5? just out of curiousity
Just a guess here but possibly under About Phone the kernel version might? Mine is listed as 2.6.29
I would also think that when trying to use the Voodoo app it would fail if you didn't have the kernel so that would be a sign too, if that's what you're looking for.
Well thanks alot. Thats what mine was listed as also. And the voodoo app did work, so I guess I've got it. And I think thats all for now.
Now I think I might wait to see the awesome developers come up with for 2.2. I dont mind the stock 2.1 for now. I just dont want to keep flashing ROM's, if they might be close to getting a version of 2.2 going. I can wait....I think.
Thanks Again

(TOOL) Perma-Temp Root with *R/W* & Stable!

Thanks goes to #TeamWin for Temp Root
This is For Windows only, if you wish to make it work for linux or mac help your self...
Remember, This is still a Temp Root & any Changes made will be Rest back to stock on a Reboot
It's stable & works 100%
I Personally have not lost Root with this new Method
Q. I thought RW was Fixed?
A. Caused by Deleting an apk / file that was already deleted. Journaling shows it still there!
Keep Track of what you delete, as trying to delete something off system that you alread di hangs the /system into RO state.
Before Using!!HTC Sync Must be Turned OFF
Put the Phone into Charge Mode only ( Not Disk Drive )
USB Debugging Must be Turned on
What's Fixed:
Revamped due to new Method:
~ Superuser Apps now Function
~ If you Lose Root, all you have to do is Open terminal & type SU then type fixit! > No More Rebooting & running the exploit again for R/W on system to get Root back in place
~ Fixed R/O Bug!!
~ R/W is now Forced
~ /system is fully editable now! until reboot that is.
~ Busybox is installed to /vendor/bin
~ hex Edited libext4
~ hex edited libfuse.so

Q. Is this permanent?
A. no, it's a temp root method..
Q. Will I lose SU Access at some point while running the OS?
A. You might, but open terminal & type fixit to get root back!.
Q. What about apps that need a reboot to use superuser?
A. Use Fast Reboot form the market for app that need a reboot..
Q. Can I push & remove items to system & will it work?
A. Yes, but all changes are reset on a reboot.
Once Downloaded, Unzip & double click on the Run_ME_fre3vo_Root.bat File & Enjoy long lasting Root!
OLD NEWS:
Everyone knows that currently with any temp root, you still lose links to the SU Binary & Busybox links, it's just a matter of time before it happens!!
So after digging around somewhat I found an over sight that HTC might use later for system updates via /vendor/bin, who knows at this point though... Anyways, after amount of time the SU Binary along with busybox links if be in system/bin or /system/xbin gets deleted / removed..
Now, what I did was enable the $Path to /vendor/bin which is in the Sensation export PATH..
Any Calls made from this point either be SU or Busybox don't get deleted nor touched from any App requesting the SU Binary!! I've tested this with alot of apps & the Root sticks in place..
Other than Reboot, it might as well be a Perma-Temp-Root!!
I am Asia Sensation..Can i use it?
thanks loads
will give feedback
seems to work the same as before, cant wait until we can permanently change /system files
Thanks a lot !!!
I think the new thread it's beter, for the noob not confusion
with the old one
Great update. You should seriously consider talking with agrabren since your making temp root so much better. And I'm assuming you still can't permanently delete system apps right? Just permanently delete them for the time being until a reboot right?
does this still remove the bloatware as per the previous release? looking at the .bat doesn't seem to remove the apks in the manner/or at all?

Even though Root Explorer is granted SuperUser, I still can not modify system files. I also can not actually overclock with SetCPU 2.2.4. It will show the max as 1728000 but it will never scale above 1188000

I really hate to add to the chaos, but no matter what I do. I am not able to get this to work properly. I have HTC sync turned off, and debugging and mock locations checked off, but when it gets to waiting for device, it just hangs, and never picks up the device again. I tried to remove the wait for device commands out of the .bat file, and it gets through but when I attempt to use even titanium, it says root not achieved, and will not let me through. Yes superuser is installed.

EDIT: I finally got it to work. The last two downloads of the files must have been bad or whatnot. I redownloaded a third time and it was the charm! Disregard this. Love your work Eugene!

(TOOL) Temp root with overclock!

New kernel supported 2.6.35.10-g6d6a25c!
Guide is two posts below!! This is a stable temp permaroot with overclocking!!. DO IT ON YOUR OWN RESPONSIBILITY
It goes up to 1,5ghz, 1,62ghz and up to 1,8ghz
It works 100% for me, and root has been stable all the time, haven't lost root unless i rebooted!
Just to ble clear, this is not my basework! Thanks to teamWin, eugene373, idanfima, coolbho3000 and wisefire for the easyfrevo part!
All i did was to repack it a little, edited some scripts etc.
If you wan't to donate, do it to these developers .
Anyways here it is
It comes packed with a overclock module folder, find the file that is the same as your kernel, and drag it into the base folder, run the script and when it says press a button to continue wait 15 seconds, then press a button
Oh, if the easy start doesn't work, try the redo one
It should now autocopy the setcpu.txt file to your sdcard!
And press thanks if it do!
Edit: added more steps, 1.5ghz, 1.5ghz undervolted, 1,6ghz and 1,8ghz and added 1,8ghz undervolt TEST + 1,6ghz undervolt TEST!
Drag the files in the 1,8 ghz folder into the main folder to go up to 1,8ghz. (did this to prevent accidental overclock)
If you get a constant popup with setcpu has been granted superuser access you can turn this off in notification

*Download SetCpu 2.24 at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=505419
*ALSO Figure out your phone kernel. r3v0Lut10n said: to figure out the kernel of your phone go: settings > about phone > software > other (bandwith, kernel ...)
Now on step for Temp-root Overclocking:
1. Install HTC sync to your computer, and uninstall it. or another way is download the Naked HTC USB DRIVER: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1161769
- You will need to do this to enable usb debugging onto your phone
2. Go to your phone: Settings > Application > Development. Turn on USB debugging
3. Connect your phone to your computer via USB. You should see USB Debugging Enabled Icon on your phone if its working.
4. Download the Temp root with overclock file given in this thread and extract it
6. After extracting the file open up overclock modules, find the same number as your kernel and copy/drag it then to the base folder (where the adb.exe and the rest of the files are).
7. It should now autopush/autocopy the setcpu file on your sdcard! No need to this manually anymore!
8. Now all you do is run Easy Fre3vo (Start).bat, or if you want the undervolted 1.5g version open up 1,5ghz undervolted folder and copy Easy Fre3vo (Start) 1,5ghz undervolt.bat to the base folder and run it.
9. After its done, (wait 15 seconds? I didn't do this step still works haha.) before pressing anything on your keyboard. the cmd prompt should close and your done!
10. To check if your OC is working, open up SetCpu you should see your max at 1512 if you OC for 1.5.
anybody have quadrant scores?
yes please run a benchmark and post results thanks
Mine has always been slow, but i got much more with overclock! 2200 in quadrant, and went from 78 to 95 in linpack multi, 48 to 58 single.
I had one reboot while doing quadrant though, so i don't think mine likes it =/
Did it work okay for you guys?
for me after a few minutes it goes back to 1188 mhz from 1512 mhz D: what's wrong?
Hmm, it does that for me too, until setcpu asks for root access again, then it goes back up, try setting it as a profile!
any chances of getting this for us Mac users?
Thanks!!
trying as profile, i'll let you know.

When you use setcpu, did you all use setcpu.txt?
Sent from my HTC Sensation Z710e using XDA App
Ok, so I used this and it worked great for a while, everything seemed as if it was working, then when I open up setcpu and point it to the txt file, it shows my Max at 1900000 but even when I select performance, the speed is still only 1188 MHz
Does browsing still lag?
You have a typo on the T-Mobile US module (there is a space before .ko in the file name), so it currently has to be dragged and then renamed to work.
Also the overclock script caused me to crash and reboot like right away.
Hmm, ill upload a fix later. I had one reboot too, but was it with 1,8 overclock? Did you wait 15 seconds before pushing next key? It works 100% with mine, even with a factory reset
The setcpu file was something i threw together while heading out the door

Second try worked, but failed on Quadrant in performance mode. Was with the 1728 or whatever stepping that was. Will fall back to 1500 for now.
I'm stuck at 528 max in setcpu. Ran the 1.8 root.

[MOD] MDPI Phone apk for CM9/AOKP 160dpi

I'm fairly new to the xda community... So I'm hoping this works for others like it worked for me. I tried about 20 different modded phone apks that were supposedly designed to work for 160dpi setting on AOKP and CM9 roms and I was just about to give up when I stumbled across one that actually works!!! Directions are pretty simple...
1. Download phone.apk file from below
2. move to root of sd card
3. In root explorer (or any file browser with root access) go to /system/app and rename original phone.apk to phone.apk.bak
4. Copy and paste new phone.apk in /system/app
5. Reboot phone and enjoy
No need to change app permissions to -rw-r--r--
UPDATE!!!! For those of you that prefer a flashable zip, Mr. Apocalypse was kind enough to upload one in post #12 of this thread
If you run into any problems let me know and I'll try to help with troubleshooting.

It replaces the stock phone app... The stock phone app will crash on any LCD density below 200 dpi. This modded phone app will run on the lower densities so you can use the 160 dpi setting and still be able to make/receive phone calls without a FC error.

It's nothing major... Just a fix for a force close error when using the phone app on different LCD densities. A lot of ppl like the look of 160 dpi and 128 dpi (tablet mode) but you lose call functionality as a consequence... This fixes that issue.
Also... If you decide to return the phone to stock LCD density there's no need to revert back to the old phone apk... This one will work in all densities from 128-240 dpi. (I haven't tried anything larger than 240 yet... IDK why anyone would though )
Ah, okay got it..

thankyou so much! fixed my issue wondered why it kept crashing when it was lower than 200 lol
I'll try it out. That FC pop up gets annoyings as stopping and clearing data after every reboot gets annoying lol.
Does this permanently replace the stock phone apk?
I can't get anything to work. Not the rename, not the copy and past. Nothing.

Make sure the /system folder is mounted as read/write before you do this... If your file explorer app doesn't have the option to give you root access you can mount /system by using terminal emulator.
Use the following commands:
su
busybox mount -o remount,rw /system

Didn't find any working package so I started browsing the Android source.
I think I found the root of this problem:
https://github.com/AOKP/packages_apps_Phone/blob/ics/res/layout/incall_touch_ui.xml#L52
Code:
<!--
(1) incomingCallWidget: the UI displayed while an incoming call is ringing.
See InCallTouchUi.showIncomingCallWidget().
Layout notes:
- Use an opaque black background since we need to cover up
a bit of the bottom of the contact photo
- The verticalOffset value gets us a little extra space above
the topmost "Respond by SMS" icon
- [b]The negative layout_marginBottom shifts us slightly downward;
we're already aligned with the bottom of the screen, but we
don't have an icon in the downward direction so the whole
bottom area of this widget is just wasted space.[/b]
-->
<com.android.internal.widget.multiwaveview.MultiWaveView
android:id="@+id/incomingCallWidget"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:layout_alignParentBottom="true"
[b]android:layout_marginBottom="-46dp"[/b]
android:background="@android:color/black"
android:visibility="gone"
I guess this -46dp is too much and needs to be lowered a bit.

[FAQ] Q&A, Troubleshooting, Help For SebastianFM [ROM] Revelation 1.0.0 | JB |

This thread is for asking and helping others with issues that are not development related for Sebastian's latest ROM.
If you're looking for the development thread, click HERE
THE THIRD POST IN THIS THREAD DEALS WITH ANSWERING PROBLEMS. READ THROUGH THE THIRD POST BEFORE POSTING IN THE DEVELOPMENT SECTION!
For Sebastian's sake, please don't clutter the thread for your vanity. Go here, and the XDA community and I will help you with your problems.
Also, be sure to thank the SebastianFM and Ivicask for all their hard work!
Rule 1: Read the first post in the development thread thoroughly!
This is going to help you a ton. Most developers religiously update their first few posts with information pertaining to the ROM you just flashed. Known issues, bugs, advice, tips, suggestions -- it's all there. You're going to make your life easier, and not have to sift through a bunch of posts, by just reading that first one thoroughly!
Rule 2: After you've read the first post and still can't find anything related to your issue, search .
I know, everyone says to search and no one does. Doesn't matter, I'll be saying it again here. Automatically assume that your problem has already been solved, and use the search button just as you would Google to find an answer. Out of the hundreds of people using the ROM you have, there's almost always a chance that your issue has popped up. You're not a snowflake, so chances are your problem isn't unique.
Rule 3: Battery life discussions go in this thread.
The easiest way to piss off a developer is to complain that your battery is draining quickly immediately after a new flash. You have to troubleshoot that one on your own, and compare it to others usage to deem your battery life sucks. Let it charge and discharge a few times before you complain about battery life, or otherwise do it here. The odds are it's A) a problem with your battery or B) a problem with your usage. There are literally very few times where I've found a ROM is actually demolishing battery life rather than the user. Capiche?
Rule 4: Problems with the games you play go in this thread.
We get it, your Facebook won't sync up to your Candy Crush game and you can't beat level 101 because of it. Your Real Racing is sluggish on this ROM compared to Vipers. GTAIII is only running at 12 FPS. Whatever. That does NOT belong in the development thread, ever. Bring it here so you can see what others have to say about it.
Rule 5: The features/kernels/tweaks you want implemented will come whenever the developer decides to implement them, so don't ask.
Sweep2Wake, USBOTG, Faux/Brick/TamCore kernels, overclocking, underclocking ringtones, boot animations, wallpaper scrolling, tweaks.
ALL OF IT BELONGS HERE! Nearly none of that is development related, and as I've said before, it's all been asked already (as of page 41 on the development thread). Don't ask again. Ask here, we can help you. If enough people want it, Sebastian will notice and probably attempt to implement it. He's one guy, stop nagging him.
And finally the Golden Rule: everyone should be courteous to one another. Don't nag the developers who are helping you, don't compare his ROM to another ROM you love, don't insult anyone's intelligence, and pay it forward. We've all been n00bs before, so lend a hand to the n00bs who come after you. Also, this is an international phone, so don't insult people's grammar -- they're trying.
Please, please, please direct your questions here. If you don't have ten posts, post here. If you have legitimate issues, post here. This is meant for discussion, and it'll help you and everyone else if you keep the development thread clean!
Stolen from SkipJacks thread is some great advice:
How to best ask for help in this thread!
Give the following information when asking your questions. This will greatly help the community to find you an answer.
Are you S-On or S-Off? (If you don't know, you are S-On)
What firmware version are you using?
What is the build date of the Revelation ROM you are having trouble with?
(Go to Settings>About Phone>Read the Build Date)
What have you already tried to fix the problem? (No point in telling you to try 12 things you've already done)
And I can't stress this last one enough...BE AS SPECIFIC AS POSSIBLE!!!
Please don't ask your question in this thread AND in the develoment thread. If you do you can expect to get flamed in the development thread.
Here are some of the most commonly asked questions already (just 40 pages in!)
Q: My battery is draining super fast! Screen off, 80% drain in under a few hours! Anyone else having the same problem?!
A: It's probably your battery, it's not the ROM. People gripe about battery life all the time because they have certain expectations when coming from another ROM. Four hours screen on time with CM10.1 or Viper does not equal four hours screen on time with Revelation. There are so many factors that affect battery life, and you have to do your due diligence before complaining about battery life.
Run the ROM for at least two or three days before complaining. Compare your screen on time with this ROM versus your older results. Buy a new battery. If the vast majority of people aren't upset with their battery life, your problem isn't unique: it's your battery. Get an Anker, and get more life out of your phone.
Q: My phone is being laggy something must be wrong! Sense is reloading! Help!
A: We run a two year old piece of hardware, but we're running a newer operating system. Phones have their limits, and in this case, the Sensation has less memory than almost any phone running Jelly Bean. Add in the fact that this is a Sense ROM, and you're going to have the occasional reload. You can't have your cake and eat it too.
Slight lag and reloading of Rosie does NOT mean something is wrong with the ROM, it's the reality we live in for using the latest and greatest OS on an older phone. Our Sensation is great, but it has limitations. You can't expect it to run as smoothly as an HTC One or even a One X.
Here's what SebastianFM has already had to say on the matter:
By default Launcher isn't locked in memory. When there is no free RAM available it may be sometimes closed. I think it is better than crashing app due to insufficient memory.

Q: Video playback is disastrous and glitchy! What do I do!?
A: Read the original post with a linker fix. Or just download it here:
Revelation 1.0.0 linker fix (md5: ee21b41790a2e384f304c6b63eca9137)
Everyone should flash it because it is related not only to video playback.

There. Problem solved.
Q: This is so great! But we're on 4.1.1....when are we going to get 4.2.2 with Sense 5!?!?!?zomg
A: Never say never, but probably never. This is a direct quote from Ivicask (a brilliant dev) himself regarding the issue so you never have to ask it in the dev section:
"Android 4.2.2 with sense 4+ doesn't and will never exist.Only 4.2.2 + Sense 5, and HTC ONE S wont be getting official update so we can only use HTC ONE, which will be much harder to adapt to Sensation."

Q: Help! I'm stuck on the white HTC Logo! Bootloop! Phone is bricked! I'm dying!?
A: Relax, and take this advice from MidnightDevil:
For the users who are having bootloop (on HTC logo) after flashing the rom and are S-ON, it is safe to flash boot.img from the rom.
Steps.
1 - Extract boot.img from /kernel directory on the rom to the directory where you have platform-tools (adb, fastboot, and so on, if you don't have this, download Google SDK and extract it).
2 - Open a prompt on the dir and type: fastboot flash boot boot.img
It should be quick, reboot and it's done.

Q: Help! My phone is rebooting! What do I do?
A: This is how you solve that issue, directly from the man who solved it Ganeshp:
for people having sense restarts and want to prevent it
here is the SUPER CHARGED services.jar file
services.jar
this jar file has Launcher locked to memory and ADJ values adjusted to suit the launcher memory lock
how to install this ?
1. First you need to mount system r/w
(if EsFile Explorer->Root Explorer->Mount R/W-> system to R/W )
2. Then copy the services.jar file to /system/framework
3. set the permissions of the file to rw-r-r then reboot
EDIT: it seems after doing step #2 the phone is bootlooping for some and unless you set proper permission to services.jar you cant boot it up. So in that case do step #3 first then step #2 (file permission is preserved over copy in EsFile Explorer. Also a dalvik cache wipe might be required to adjust the adj values )
thats all
Set permission this way
User - read and write
Group - read
Other - read
Btw you can't see the proper permission of the file when it's on sdcard (if esfile explorer)
So first copy the services.jar to /system
Then change the permissions as mentioned above
Then cut it to /system/framework

This one is trickier but its doable. You have to place your files into a specific folder using a file manager.
1. Download ES File Explorer
2. Open the file explorer and copy the media you downloaded that you want to use as your notification tone. It should be on your SDCard. You can even search for it within ES File Explorer (Long press the media and select copy from the menu to copy it)
3. In ES, select your "Device" (not your SDCard) in the drop down menu at the top of the app.
4. Select the folder that says System
5. Select the folder that says Media
6. Select the folder that says Audio
7. Select the folder that says Notifications

Thank you. I have another question. I have one mp3 the size is 5.77MB. when i tried to copy it too /system/media/audio/ringtones, it will be truncated to 800kb or 0 kb (depend on which file explorer i use).
i know that i don't have to copy it there to set it as ringtone, but i'm just curious why i can't copy it. maybe because of the size? the notification can be copy just fine and both are very small in size.
Thanks again.

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe its because the phone has a built in ringtone trimmer to save space. If you're rooted, I would think you'd be able to copy it. But no matter what if it's in that folder it's going to be trimmed. At least that's my understanding

Are you S-ON for S-OFF? Locked or Unlocked?
Either way, I think you have to flash the kernel in fastboot, extract the boot.img from Revelation and place it in a folder, open cmd and navigate to the adb folder and type fastboot flash boot boot.img
I believe this may also solve your issue more easily:
