Silent USB Connection - T-Mobile LG G2x

This has been an ongoing annoyance and finally figured I'd ask. Does anyone know of a way to disable the audio notification when connecting to computer?

I think disabling debug

Nope, does it either way.

Settings - Applications - Development - USB debugging notify.
Turn it off.

Perhaps a CM7 option? Don't have that option, running stock based TSUI right now. It's the same on other stock based roms I've too though

I'd like to disable this but don't see the option either. There's a debugging checkbox but nothing for notifications.

You would have to change the audio file itself which is stored in one of the system files, I think either framework or system UI.

That annoying "USB Debugging connected" Notification

Ive looked through most of the threads in this forum but don't recall seeing anything removing that notice. I saw it listed as a feature in a custom ROM not too long ago. Any ideas? Thx in advance
USB debugging can be turned off by going into the main menu and clicking on applications>development>USB debugging.

In CyanogenMod you can disable the notification. You just click on the debugging icon and select the "be notified" option.

Caulkin's 2.2 Evio rom allows this to be disabled as well, I believe

device options greyed out on EOS JB nightly

I've been running the EOS 3.0 JB nightlies for about a week now, and everything is working great with none of the sound/mail/issues.:good:
However I find that the developer options page in setup is totally greyed out.. no access to any options, not currently a major issue although titanium backup complains that I'm not set to USB debugging mode on startup.
and I can't access any options on that setup page. all other setup option pages seem normal with full access.
I must be missing a simple step but nothing I've done seems to change it.
reflashed with latest rom and gapps (126 and 0726) with full wipe.. still no selections available
if anyone has a suggestion I would greatly appreciate it
Top right corner there is a switch to enable them.

[Q] Home and search buttons not working

Hi all,
Since installing CM7 (20130201) and Mazout's 2.6.32.60 kernel, my phone's home and search buttons are no longer functioning. Any ideas how to fix it? These are important functions.
It also doesn't go to sleep anymore, even when I push the power button.
Sounds like some gremlin mischief. Have you tried using the nullifier to wipe?
Edit: here's the link

Thanks TwitchyEye. That worked, for a while, but the issues are back now. And randomly, the menu/home/back/search icons light up when the phone's otherwise asleep.

Maybe it's something you restored?

Those are your lights acting as a notification. You can turn it off in cyanogenmod settings.

Where might I find that in the settings? I went through and couldn't find it.

Settings => CyanogenMod settings => Interface => LED notifications. I select unconfigured then, edit category settings, LED mode, and force LED off. I suppose if you wanted to you could set individual settings for applications. There's also a few apps in the play store that take care of it too.

[Q] Permanent Disable airplane mode option in Custom ROM

I'm working on permanently disabling airplane mode in a slightly customized ROM I'm working on. Essentially, I want nothing to change when a user clicks the airplane mode button.
This is on the Verizon Galaxy Tab 2 (sch-i705).
I'm hoping for a simple solution (i.e. deleting some module) that will disable the functionality behind airplane mode or adjust which radios toggle when airplane mode is enabled.
I'm not sure where to start - right now I'm slogging through an upacked system.img with no success, and haven't found anything in my xda/google searches. Ideas of what files I could remove or modify?
So far I've tried looking through existing modules to see if airplane mode is like wifi (ie has drivers or something that can somehow be removed). It was a longshot, and I didn't come up with anything.
Anyone have any idea what I could modify in the system image to adjust which radios airplane mode toggles?
Still haven't figured this out - anyone have any ideas?
Out of curiosity... why?

I'm working on designing an educational tablet that can be remotely managed (new content can be pushed, new apps can be added for the students, etc.). The issue is, if a student accidentally (or on purpose) turns on Airplane Mode, I would lose my connection with the tablet and be unable to interact with it, or restore it remotely. Not allowing airplane mode would be an easy way to avoid this problem.
It doesn't seem like there is an easy way to do this though.. I'm trying to sort out whether I could change the radios Airplane Mode toggles, or maybe change the UI so Airplane mode isn't offered as an option (right now it can only be accessed by pushing the power button, because I have access to settings restricted)
Any ideas?
That sounds like that solves your problem to remove airplane mode from the power menu.

Yeah, if I knew how to do that, the problem would be solved. Any idea how to do that?
Try settings/device/buttons/power menu

Not available on my device, unfortunately. I'm on sch-i705 if that makes a difference.

Maybe check in developer options? If you don't have it, tap the build number multiple times...

Weird behavior? Bug maybe?

So I've noticed since upgrading to Pie, when using the quick toggle switches, the wrong item is displayed at the bottom of the screen. If I was to click the wifi toggle, it will say mobile data enabled at the bottom of the screen. If I was to click the wifi toggle off, it says wifi enabled at the bottom. I'm 110% stock (Verizon version ?) thoughts?

I don't remember seeing this, but do you use any themes? If yes, try to remove the theme and see how it is without it

Gotta be an app you have installed. I just reset to most recent stock 9 a few days ago and don't even get toast notifications when using the quick settings.

I can't figure it out for the life of me. I think you are on your way something tho, either an app or a setting. None of the other toggles show a toast notification. Don't wanna factory reset, might just have to tho
Mine keeps enabling "Night Mode" to "Always on" all by itself. I set it to "Always off" and it turns itself back on again after just a few minutes.
Weird stuff going on.
I may just start going through system apps and clearing cache and see what happens.

That I believe is because you have night mode turned on in the messages app, or any other Google app that has a dark mode setting. The night mode setting in developer options I've noticed, doesn't really matter. When I use Android auto, it switches between day and night on its own. Now if I pick up my device and use it while it is still plugged into my car, and I open messages which I have dark mode enabled, it will switch Android auto to dark. And I would have to unplug the USB and plug it back in. Hope that helps

You're absolutely right. The night mode setting for the notification pull down follows the setting in the Messages app ... which I had turned on.
Thanks! That was driving me nuts.
