I found a site that will flash a droid to work on straight talk using the verizon network. I bought an htc incredible and they did the flash. It worked for one day then the phone did an update. Now I can't make any calls. Data still works. I have been trying to contact the guy to re-flash since Saturday but no answer. I think I might need to do it myself. Can somebody here help me? Thanks in advance

I am running the same HTC version as you and used unrEVOked3. I would like to hear why you didn't want to root that way again. I just recently rooted my friends phone using unrEVOked3 too. email me at bobbyoftulsa @ yahoo.com so as not to crowd the thread. I haven't had a problem yet.. just want the opinion so I might start over.

Metro as in MetroPCS? If so, MetroPCS only works with CDMA phones. The Glacier/MyTouch 4G is a GSM phone.
so basically there is nothing to be done lol....well anyways, i have the MAXX for VZW and originally it was CDMA but as of last month the ICS ota came through and now its GSM capable...so can i swap my sim to the mytouch just for ****s....if so, how do i unlock it and root ?

Mod Edit: Do not flame..
If you are on Gingerbread, you'll need to downgrade to FroYo to root. Go here.
Once on Froyo, use this to attain S-Off.
Then flash a custom recovery like Clockworkmod or 4EXT (my favorite) and flash away.
If you ask what the best ROM is I'll find you and stab you to death It will be out of kindness, I assure you.
The above statement is probably against the rules and may get me an infraction. :fingers-crossed:
Cheers!

Also guys you know the rules do not be rude to new members... You know the rules. Last warning..
I have the carrier i wireless and I'm not able to recieve the update.
I've contacted the company, and they say that HTC should send the update or to check it manually. I already have.
Still, I have Android 4.0.3. What do I do?
I wish I could just send it right to my device.
I don't want my device to be rooted, because the update is out already and that would be wasteless.

I got rid of this device and apparently this is an imported phone.
CID: HTC_017 isn't coming up anywhere all I get is that it's international.
Either get the Galaxy Nexus like I did, or try and flash a custom rom like Viper!
OK first off apologies for being such a noob idiot. I've converted from years of iPhones and thought it would be easy to root a HTC One X Plus. I've owned one for around 24hrs now and it's spent most of it's time being broken.
I've have searched high & low for an answer and checked all other posts for fix's but I still can't get this working. I am a complete newbie to Android so please spell things out.
I've basically got it in a state now where it boots but no wifi or carrier - bluetooth seems ok. wifi just says error when trying to enable.
I used Hassons tool for the phone, but unfortunately when it got to kernel options in the tutorial I got a bit lost. I flashed the kernel and since then I have no wifi etc. so I'm guessing I've used the wrong one.
I don't know which to use and to make things worse now I can't seem to find the correct RUU so I can revert back to factory settings.
Model HTC One X Plus - O2 UK
Can somebody please help? Thanks.
Well, congratulations, you have NOT bricked your phone. From what i can understand, you just flashed a kernel not supported on your phone. You can download any ROM for your phone and flash it. It will hopefully solve your issue

Well that's a relief, thanks. I think this must be the route of the problem obviously as I could only find 2 kernels that I thought were compatible.
Anybody know if there is a list of compatible kernels for a HTC One X Plus O2 UK???
Thanks again.
Hello, I'm a noob. Thanks for dealing with my noobiness (in advance), But I know you guys(or gals) can help me.
Recently I acquired a HTC one S, I unlocked it and rooted it with much success on my own following tuts here and there.
Today while away from home I was experiencing some issues and decided to "factory restore" it. Now this is the noob part.
I have TWRP(s4) installed in there I somehow deleted EVERYTHING OS and all.
Later today I found a tut on recovering a soft-brick, followed that and now my phone is working perfectly except for one major problem.
It doesn't find T-Mobile US. under network selections it shows AT&T and US. I flashed it using the RUU_ville_ICS_40_s_2.35.531.7_radio (etc...etc...)
My noob question is. How can I get it to work back on T-Mobile US?
What is on it:
Is current;y NOT rooted.
recovery is clockworks.
ROM is from the RUU please tell me if i am missing any info.
Thanks again (in advance) for dealing with my noobiness. Wish there was a way to avoid it but maybe someday I can contribute back to the site.
TL;DR
Used RUU on HTC one s and now can't find T-Mobile US.
How do I get it back on T-Mobile US?
