I need to change my phone back to the telecom nz stock rom. I have checked http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1074559 and google, just can't find it.
please tell me where to download one, or how to make one from a original phone.

Ww im amazed to see a Fellow New Zealander Here at the xda forums. But first of all why do you need the stock telecom rom for your htc sensation (have you stuffed up your current rom). Do you know much about roms & kernels and stuff. If yes than you may know that the telecom nz sim cards work with many of the 2.3.4 & 2.3.5 roms found here on the xda forums (i know this as i have both vodafone and Telecom sim cards). If not then you should probably learn a little.
I was interested in this thread as i to were looking for a telecom nz stock rom but was unable find any and just went with the europe stock rom. But now ive learnt a little more im using The ARHD 3.6.3 which is working fine with my xt sim card
Personally i would just use a custom rom that is NOT! t-mobile and you should be fine
thanks for your reply. sadly my volume key came out and i had to send it back for repair. i can get hold with another htc sensation with the stock rom. will i be able to copy the rom from it?

Unfortunately I have no clue how to do so but I think if you back up the Stock Rom onto an sd card then restore the Stock Rom backup on the phone you want it on, this should work.

Okay I can confirm that by backing up a stock Rom you are able to install it in recovery on another phone as I have just done with an Australian stock xe Rom (not found in the shipped roms thread)

I know it works... Its just a matter of getting a stock xt back up
And I think it would be easier if you registered on this website http://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=97&topicid=85414&page_no=78 then asked if anyone had a backup of the system and boot img from there back up files because the previously uploaded files link, doesn't work anymore

That's cool. I will register on that website and ask for a copy of the stock rom. I apperciate if you can send me a copy of the stock xt rom for sensation z710a? The USB port of my sensation is not working properly.Whenever I connect the phone to my laptop/pc, it can only be charged, cant be detected by my laptop/pc. So need to retore to stock state to send back to telecom to have the problem fixed. Thanks.

thats because it is (the Inspire 4G and Telus DHD are the EXACT same device internally, externally, its only a difference of the logo, the telus one uses the HTC logo, while the Inspire 4G uses the AT&T logo on the back.
The higher build Radio from the 2.52 Korean build works amazing with the ril's from this/the 2.43 Telus build (which are also the same btw)
Never mind. Thank you.

i really dont understand whats going on here. i installed this factory rom to replace the custom rom i had. and after i flashed it and go into hboot, my phone is still s-off. can i please get a factory stock rom that will s-on and unroot? seriously.. why was this rom passed off as a factory rom when its really not? i dont get it.
Is this rom, suitable only for USA networks or it is suitable for the Europe also ?

It is pure stock. You have to s-on seperately before you flash this.

Flashing a stock rom will not remove s-off or eng mode. It's a separate process
Mind you - if you flash via sd method idk.....
Sorry for digging up an old thread, but I want some clarification.
If I run this, it will not unroot my device, just install the update and the AT&T bloatware?
Hi All,
I'm about to root and flash a new ROM onto my HTC Sensation but before I do so, I want to have a backup of the stock ROM in case I need to take the phone in for a repair.
I'm looking for the Vodafone Australia HTC Sensation stock ROM but can't find it!
Does anyone have one which they could send me a link to?
Or, is there a way which I can make a backup of the stock ROM from my phone?
Thanks!
EDIT: just to clarify, I've tried searching for the RUU but there don't seem to be any for Vodafone AUS. So is there anyway to backup the stock? Thanks! (I'm not exactly a newbie at rooting/flashing, just never had to worry about backing up for warranty purposes before)
i was wondering the same thing! cant find the ruu! hope someone can guide us to restore without a RUU
or some method gets invented

hey did you find a way to do it?
People, before you flash a new rom you need to make a nandroid back up! In case you need to restore your phone for what ever reason.....
This is also done in clockworkmod recovery.....
Hit the backup/restore button and you are good to go.
If you look at the step by step install protocols in the tread of your choosen rom, one of the first steps is DO A NONDROIDBACKUP....
Goodluck!

you cant S-on without a RUU though? thats what the guide says?
If you do restore, you are unrooted.... But be careful restoring s-on, its more riskie than requiring s-of! Read the threads regarding this proces and do what it says every step!

You'll need to have stock recovery and bootloader, which a nandroid backup doesn't save. And only an RUU, AFAIK will give you those.

Here is a link to an Australian Vodafone stock RUU, I note yours is a slightly newer version than this RUU, however I would expect this would be fine if you need to go back to stock.
http://www.filefactory.com/file/c13...00U_10.14.9035.01_M_release_220002_signed.exe (thanks to Football)
BTW you either need your stock RUU or you need to have backed up stock recovery and Hboot before rooting (via temp root) because these are overwritten in the revolutionary s-off and custom recovery installation process. A nandroid backup is important but it won't take you back to stock.
For a short time I've got the RUU in my dropbox, it might be a bit quicker and less ads! http://is.gd/Vaq45l

Hello. Yesterday I unrooted and s-on my sensation, because I have som dust in the screen. For it, I used germany's Vodafone RUU, due there isn't a RUU for Vodafone Spain (my country).
Some people from Spain told me that using that RUU from Germany was ok, but something confuses me: when I try to search for OTA's I get this message:
We have determined that your phone may be running a modified version of its system software. For your protection, we cannot update your phone. Please revert your phone to the official HTC system software to update your phone. If you did not modify the system software or would like help reverting your system, please contact us via the support section at www.htc.com
So, I want to know if HTC will see this, or if they'll refuse to change my screen. I'd also like to know experience of others whose country hasn't got a leaked Vodafone RUU, and your experience.
Thank you all
Anyone?

so when you decided to leave stock rom and go custom.... didnt you make a nandroid backup like ALL the threads insist ? If you did you could restore it.
Or brick the device completely and say that a dodgy OTA upgrade caused it (no recommended)
EDIT: Wont a European RUU be good enough ? or a stock Spain RUU, It doesnt have to be carrier branded to re-validate warranty...Just stock

First of all, thanks for your answer. I didn't make a nandroid because the phone was bought already rooted from internet. I don't think so about the stock debranded ruu because they have the info that my phone was Vodafone branded and if they see a stock Rom they'll see I've manipulated the software.

Regarding the European RUU, I have a completely stock branded to vodafone desire S with the 2.3.5 OTA. Will I have to take any measures besides backing up my stuff to install the RUU?
Normally i wouldn't ask this, but the phone being limited to vodafone only sim cards makes me wonder if the RUU will affect any of it or if i have to do extra steps that I wouldn't with an unbranded phone.
Thanks,
Daniel
I think no one really knows yet. RUU is still too fresh. My guess, yes you can just install this on your branded Desire S. Your SIM lock will stay (this is never affected by a ROM). If you now have a Vodafone boot logo, you might lose that. Any apps put on there by Vodafone, you'll also lose, of course.
Actually that would work great for me, tired of the preinstalled crap As for not losing the sim lock, doesn't bothed me so much.
Kinda just want to update without issues, wondered how it would fit this specific situation.
Thanks for the reply m8
Update:
Installed the RUU without issues, phone seems to be working fine so far.. actually have more free memory than before (both without apps installed, did a reset before installing the RUU)
Wifi and 3G are working, phone is smooth but to be fair.. only installing apps atm.. glad to have the update

If your doing this to just use straight talk then I have to inform you. You don't have to just slap the sim card in with phone off then boot and adjust the apn settings.
