[Q] HTC Desire S MIUI 1.11.25 - Root Access Suddenly Gone? - HTC Desire S

Hey,
EDIT!: I restored one of my backups with ROM Manager (Which still could restore ROMs? ) and i got my root access back! =)
Sorry if theres already a thread about this somewhere which Google haven't been able to find.
About a month ago i successfully rooted my phone using revolutionary. I tried out a few ROMs and ended up with MIUI 1.11.25, and suddenly i lost root access. Im not sure when this happened, it might have been when i updated from MIUI 1.11.18 to 1.11.25, which i did a couple of days ago,(I wiped dalvik cache and flashed with ROM Manager since the buildt in updater didn't work) or when i tried to update Busybox with an app from the market... :/
Weird thing is, Superuser runs perfectly normal, while almost every other root app i have tells me i need root access to use the application. I tried updating and installing the Su zip file (Binary?) and updating Superuser, but it didn't work .
Another weird detail is that root checker says "Congratulations! You have root access!" While ROM Manager can't run fix permission.
Should i reflash my ROM or a backup? Or is there some weird simple fix to this (Please!)?
Im not a wiz at rooting so if your able to, please put it in simple words
Thanks,
Mikkel

[Q] update 2.1.0-2.2.3 LOST ROOT??

I did the update just now and thought everything went well. This is my first time. Someone else put infused 2.1.0 on phone and everything that goes along with that. I followed the directions in beginning of post to manually do the update. Now all my root apps are telling me i'm not rooted. I rebooted, took battery out and back in. I have read entire Infused post and no one has had this issue? Before i started i went into ROM manager and made a back up first.
Not sure what to do now??
i APPOLOGIZE if i posted this originally in wrong place.
First all, are you sure you're running the Infused.v2.2.3?? Beacuse if you are, then you're rooted.
If not, then you can simply root your phone again.

Yes, under setting>about phone i was running 2.1.0 and now says the update worked and i am running 2.2.3 infused. I was rooted before update now all my root apps are being denied by SU. SU was in app drarer before update and all was well. SU still in app drawrer but now not working. I installed Root Checker from mkt and it does see SU 3.0 on phone but says i never got rooted or it was done wrong. I can get a log from that app if you will be able to make heads or tails of it. I tried to install busybox and it just fails causes it says i'm not rooted. so i'm confused...i uninstalled updates to SU, that didn't work...i have looked at all the SU settings and as far as i can tell i have it set right...
as far as rooting again?? I didn't do it the first time...someone did it for me..can someone give me a link for the best way to do that...and if i have to do that..can i just do it on top of what i have now and not lose anything? I read that rooting an infuse running GB is not or close to not possible? am i wrong? I hope so.

[Q] [Solved] ROM Manager & Rom Toolbox both freezing requiring force close

For some reason that I can't fathom or find a solution for (search is also temporarily unavailable) both ROM Manager and Rom Toolbox refuse to do anything. I can't boot into recovery, backup a ROM, restore a ROM or download a ROM from within these apps. I can boot into recovery via the power button and make backups that way but am non-plussed as to why they have stopped working. Is it a super-user issue? I've not seen a super-user request/notification come since installing the apps.
Bantaumod CM9 Kangs
glados2.8
Nexus I9020
try fastboot flashing recovery then flash different rom to see if problem persists
Ok will do. The only way I can do anything at all at the moment is via clockwork recovery.
I was getting an issue initially where it was telling me I needed to purchase the premium version even though it was already installed but that isn't happening anymore now.
Anytime I see the issue youre having I do two things. First fix permissions. Then I install busybox and superuser. Hope this helps

I tried fixing permissions but that just sat there ding nothing as well. Busybox and Superuser were installed.
I tried a different Drew Garen ROM and everything now works as it should. Was this likely to be a daily with the ROM itself or just my installation of it? I tried re-flashing a backup of it but the problem was still there.
Thanks for your help
I've just flashed the Orca Project ROM on my phone and Rom Toolbox works but ROM Manager won't!
Am I right in thinking that upon starting each app for the first time they should request superuser access and I should get a prompt?
have you had any issues with that rom?
Having the same problem, but only with Toolbox. I haven't gotten it to work on my ROM... That or any overclocking apps. The over clocking apps give me a boot literally a minute into turning my phone on over and over again.
I flashed orca and rom manager works great

I had to flash/install a different version of Superuser that someone in a different thread gave me. Now everything works a treat.

[Q] root problem, need help

I have a rooted phone that has worked like this for a while changing a lot of roms (I'm on ordroid right now)
Few days ago it seems as if apps can't get full root access even though I grant them.
Examples: when I turn on TB it says "asking for root access" while notifications on the bottom reappear every 30 seconds saying "titanium backup has been granted superuser access to interactive shell", my backup takes a long time to load, fasterfix stopped loading.
Tried fixing permissions on recovery but it just thinks for 10 minutes so I stopped it by taking the battery out.
Supersu tries to install an update but it fails, doesn't uninstall itself.
bootloader says soff, hboot 1.27.1100
What can be done?
Thanks in advance

try to clear all the apps that were granted root privileges from supersu app
all the apps are shown once you open supersu...just click on each of them and click forget...
then for whatever app you require root access...supersu again asks for granting permission ..so grant it and try again using titanium backup
Still doesn't work

You can try one thing.
First download root check basic from market and check whether you got your device rooted or not.
Then
Download superuser app from market..don't open this after downloaded
Then go to supersu-settings-cleanup-click "switch superuser app".
After this you can use superuser app you've downloaded to manage root privilages

Downloaded root check, ran it and same thing happens: it works a long time and during it brings up notifications every 30 seconds that it has been granted root access. The app didn't come to a conclusion.
Clocked on install a different superuser ago in supersu, the prompt says "if succeeded the app will close in a few second. It doesn't.
Went anyways to superuser and tried to update binaries and it failed gaining root access.
Would reflashing the ROM work? What about full wipe and reflash?
The weird thing is that it was rooted correctly for a long time and it suddenly happened.

The thing is I also had this issue earlier...I messed my root access...so what I did is I did a fullwipe and flashed the Rom again...I did a full wipe because in my case fmradio didn't work either....
But what i would suggest you to do is ...first just flash the Rom again...no need to wipe cache + dalvik as Rom installation will take care of it ...and see if this solved your problem...if this didn't work then do a fullwipe (superwipe) and flash the Rom ...this will surely resolve your problem..as it did in my case

Flashed latest rom version with full wipe and works perfectly now. Also restored data using nand.
Thank you!

urgent help needed - xperia c

Hi people. I own a Xperia C. Recently, I was trying all sorts of mods on it. I had installed Busybox before and updated it today. Then I just randomly pressed install button, uninstall button and then install again. Then a problem came in my device. Busybox broke. Wifi is no longer working on it. I tried reinstalling busybox and even factory reset. SuperSU is now not even uninstalling, ie I can't even unroot my phone now. Now, what do I do? Should I flash Stock ftf? Will it work? If so please link me there. Regards, please help urgently!!
Note: I can access my device, working. But Wifi isn't working and in ES file explorer if I go to the mount option in root it crashes. Busybox root not found even though SuperSU grants it.

Try Flash using PC Companion.
Hi, thanks. But I already managed in fixing the device. Went to recovery, wiped pre-flash. Then flashed Xperia C Stock Rom (Got from Development forum). Then rooted, installed busybox and everything else, and done.

[HELP] Honor 8 rooted on Nougat, but can't delete system apps!

Hi guys. First of all sorry if i'm writing in the wrong section. I have a problem with my Honor 8 (FRD-L09) updated to Nougat. Today i've decided to unlock the bootloader and root it. I managed to unlock the phone via Huawei official unlock bootloader method, then i've pushed the latest twrp (3.1.0-1-frd) by cmd. All was going fine. After that i've probably downloaded an old version of Superuser, the phh SuperUser r275 and installed it. I've downloaded Phh's Supersu application from playstore, installed busybox (by Jrummy) and i was able to use various apps that required supersu just fine. But i faced a lot of problems when trying to uninstall system apps. For example, i wished to uninstall "Maps" with System app remover and it shows me that the app was correctly uninstalled and in fact it disappeared from the list, then i rebooted and the app was still there! Tried again with System app remover with the same app and this time even if the app showed "successfully uninstalled" it was still there. Then i tried Root Essentials, Titanium Backup, Root Explorer, SD Maid but i was unlucky with them all. Always problems and errors. In particular, Root Explorer, after mounted the system for r/w, shows "unable to delete the file". These problems appears with all the system apps. I don't know what's going on, i've never had this problems with my old S2 plus. Hope some of you can help me. What i have to do? Uninstall phh's superuser? If yes how can i do it? Can't find any uninstaller zip around the web. Or i need to install "SuperSU-v2.79-201612051815-EMUI5.0" attached in the TWRP post? Can i overwrite phh's superuser script with this? Is safe? Will it work? I'm very desperate, please help me.
P.S. I basically followed this guide: "http://www.theandroidsoul.com/root-honor-8-nougat-twrp-phh-superuser/" but using the new twrp. Don't ask me why...i can't explain why i did this stupid thing.
Rooting the honor 8 just sucks. It's pretty much a crapshoot.
Try the TWRP and special SuperSU from this thread, and let me know if it works.

I'm in the same boat, I rooted nougat before but didn't actually have r/w permissions. So I've been waiting to re-root until huawei patched their bugs, but it doesn't seem like that will happen.
Best of luck.

It worked! With this version of supersu i was able to unistall all those useless system apps! I just flashed it by twrp overwriting the previous one and it uninstalled phh'supersu app and installed chainfire's one. Everything seems to work flawlessy thank you. Just wondering if there's a way to remove the annoyng screen at startup that advise that the device can't be trusted. . .

That is a product of unlocked bootloader and happens on every phone no matter the brand. It can't be removed
