I have owned all these phones and my fav by far is the Infuse. Atrix is my second choice then g2x. atrix is fun after you unlock the boot loader and flash some roms. G2x is nice with the gingerbread installed but battery life sucked.

You're the 1st to recommended infuse why do u like it although it seems less powerful than others -one core &512RAM-?

Infuse is less powerful, but the screen and body are much superior. If you can spend the extra money, go with the gs2, or if you want a whole better display then any phone out including the coming gnexus, go for the lg nitro. It is one beast phone lol.

I have a infuse, my fiance has atrix. I like my infuse more than her atrix. Her atrix is quicker and snappier but the battery life sucks, bad. I pulled a stock atrix rom for her phone and looked around in it and it's ridiculous how much moto blur crap they put in their roms. Get a infuse.

Is she on official Gingerbread? I get great battery life with stock Gingerbread on the Atrix.
--------------------------------------------------
As to the OP, I can't speak to the G2x. I would say it depends on your needs:
The Atrix is a fast, solid phone with official Gingerbread, great battery life, a Tegra 2 processor (which gives you access to Tegra 2 apps) and a fingerprint unlock feature. It's around the size of an iPhone 4, but with a larger screen and smaller bezel. The screen looks pretty crappy in my opinion (especially compared to the screen on the Infuse), and MotoBlur is one of the worst manufacturer frameworks in my opinion. I've never flashed anything custom on my Atrix to see how much the experience can be improved.
The Infuse is like a Galaxy S 1.5: it has higher clocked version of the Galaxy S CPU, same GPU, same audio, etc. but with the Galaxy S2 body, screen and camera. Being a single-core phone with a large battery, it has potential for great battery life, but your mileage may vary with custom ROM's, kernels, different modems, etc. The Infuse has a wide selection of ROM's to choose from due to its ability to run Galaxy S ROM's (with certain libraries and the kernel replaced). The Infuse is thinner and lighter than the Atrix, quite a bit larger side-by-side due to its incredible 4.5" SAMOLED+ screen and has a better camera. Just like the Atrix, it is a very solid, durable and well-built phone. The phone won't feel as smooth as the Atrix, and you'll probably want a custom ROM to get your Infuse to peak performance. You can run Tegra 2 games with the Chainfire 3D app, but performance and graphics quality will vary.
The Infuse is superior for music and video due to its media support, screen and audio hardware, but demanding games will generally perform better on the Atrix. Web browsing and Flash will perform better on the Atrix. I feel that the Atrix, despite its MotoBlur, is more useable out of the box, whereas the look and performance of the Infuse really pushes me to customize it and flash—probably because I know what Samsung phones are capable of.
If you like listening to music and watching videos, like the stock apps and gestures of TouchWiz, want a better camera, and don't mind the size tradeoff for the large, awesome screen, the Infuse might be better for you. If you plan to use your phone mostly for web browsing with Flash, playing the latest games, or if you have an interest in the docking options on the Atrix, you might want that instead.

Ok...It's almost settled..for low budget...Infuse 4G but for a higher one Atrix or optimus 3D!! Which one do you recommended?

I was considering whether to get the atrix or the inspire and went for the inspire.
Motorola blur is terrible not to mention the bootloader, the small screen, the cheap feel and all that nonsense.
I absolutely love the inspire.
It's not that loud but there but CM7 will release a rom enabling volume boost.
Display is fabulous. 4.3 inches of beauty.
I score almost 3300 on quadrant.
The dev community for the htc inspire/desire is fantastic.
They had the phone rooted, rommed, and overclocked the day it came out.
Some people have trouble with the gps.
I don't use it myself.
But i hear it's pretty good for those who got it to work. (theres a fix)
I play n64 games on it no problem. No lag.
Watch flash movies online.
Listen to music.
It feels as though it makes my cheap sony headphones sound like 100$ sennheisers.
It's very fast.
and it's built like a tank.
Have you held one?
You be the judge.
There's a story around the inspire general forum of some guy's inspire surviving being under a car.
and IMO the whole atrix thing is a scam.
Motorola release this "state of the art" dual core phone.
yet hardly anything for phones support it.
and with motoblur + all the motojunk on it, you won't be getting performance any better than a desire/inspire.
Go try it out!
Inspire. I've owned both phones since their release dates and I think the inspire is much better. I just couldn't bring myself to keep the atrix. Ditto on the low quality feeling, motoblur sucking, etc.
Via the XDA app for the HTC Inspire
FYI, Atrix price is dropping like flies.
Cartoys.com has it for $29 after rebate for new account.
They also have the Inspire for $0.
I was also looking at getting the atrix or the inspire as my first android phone. After playing around with both at the store, I decided on the Inspire.
*Did not feel plasticy like the atrix.
*UI was much better.
*The 4.3 screen which looks much nicer and crisper than the atrix.
I have had it for about a week now and I am loving it!
I owned both. Lots of reasons why Atrix is better (speed, battery, video and audio quality, camera quality etc) but im sticking with the inspire because its just a better overall experience.

Do you seriously think the Atrix camera is better than the Inspire's? The Inspire's camera blows the Atrix out of the water in terms of camera. Also I don't experience audio problems with my Inspire like others do. The Dolby Digital option when listening to music is amazing. Just my 2 cents. Ithink the Inspire is a much more enjoyable device

Is the LG G2X worth to upgrade to from a Samsung Vibrant

I have a Vibrant w/ CM7 on it. Was wondering if this phone is worth the upgrade. I love the screen on the Vibrant, and know this is a bit of a downgrade, but everything else just seems so worth it. And yes i would be putting CM7 on this as well.

Definitely worth the upgrade. Only thing the Vibrant has over this phone is the Super Amoled. The G2x has a faster processor, 1080p Video recording, front facing camera, 8 megapixel camera, 4g (feels way faster than my myTouch 4g and G2x) one of the loudest speakers I've heard on a smartphone and I've owned numerous of smartphone's (Nexus One, Nexus S, myTouch 4g, G2, Vibrant, HD7 etc.). The screen has a nice curve around the edge that feels so good when swiping across pages, pictures etc. The issues this phone has is mainly software based since Gingerbread isn't intended for dual core. ICE CREAM SANDWICH should fix this issue if we will ever get an official release from LG. If not there's always XDA devs that will be more than willing to bring this update to the G2x.

Not to argue, but my reason behind saying gingerbread isn't optimized is that when Google created gingerbread there was no dual core around. The software had single core in mind. G2x users are still experiencing random reboots, but not as frequent as before.

Because the gb update is still ****!!! Cmon I think there even saying T-Mobile pulled the update to fix some bugs and gb is more optimized for dual core then froyo is what I was getting at. Dude gb is definitely good for dual core especially if optimized rite and all the bugs are worked out u can manage ur apps better and gb has a built in task killer if u choose to use it and I/0 is better. Oh and better battery management, idk I would say gb bug free is definitely great for dual core phones look at the sgs 2
Hands down a major upgrade!! I've had a mint vibrant sitting around the whole time I've had a G2x, and never have seriously considered using it during the trials and tribulations with the G2x. The GPS is all but unusable, and while the screen is very contrasty, saturated and bright, it's also grainy, not very sharp for the resolution specs. I prefer the sharpness and clarity of the G2x IPS LCD.
I ended up getting a second G2x for testing/hacking and sold the Vibrant. A good phone, but the useless GPS was completely unacceptable.

Yes, Gingerbread is more efficient and stable than Froyo hands down. I read the post about someone claiming the Gingerbread update being pulled. Hopefully it's true and LG gives us a better version of the update.

Wait for the Samsung Galaxy S II to appear in the US. I hear it's coming August. I have it now, bought out from over seas though. You can buy it from overseas and use At & t for using the 3G/4G speeds. And AT&T has a $50 unlimited talk, text, and data. Galaxy S II doesn't show up as a smartphone so you don't have to pay extra for data plan.

That said sold the vibrant and got a g2x for my wife....
I was gonna wait for a SGSII Varient, or the Hercules, but i just didnt feel like waiting for the SGSII, and the Hercules screen is probably going to be too big. So i went out and bought it.
Gonna root and put CM7 on it. Hope its worth it!
Thanks everyone!
Its definitely worth it u will be happy your video camera will do 30 fps. , u will still have screenshot, just hold power down u will see the menu, cm increased data speeds, fixed battery issues, there's touch to focus for the camera, alot of nice **** that cm has incorporated into our phone download the latest nightly it is very stable and more stable then rc1 plus more stuff has been incorporated since rc1. Oh and we have voodoo sound for the g2x which is sick just flash fauxs kernel I think he's the only one with the loading module in his kernel, and we also have tons of roms to choose from if u ain't feeling cm, I love my phone with cm tho, the g2x is the best phone state side

Should I trade my G2x for Nexus S?

I've got a couple offers for my G2x trading for a Nexus S
Should i do it?
I need upgrade-ability and customization
I've heard people say the G2x will never get
Loss: Single core, VGA front facing cam, 5MP front cam.
Win: Almost guaranteed upgrade to IceCreamSandwich, Faster Update supportm NFC, Super AMOLED, Curved Glass, Louder Speaker than G2x, more stable
What would you choose?
Do you think the G2x will get ICS? (Cyanogenmod may not be able to make ICS, due to the fact that honeycomb is not open source and Google said that ICS will look like ICS.)

What? Google has confirmed that ICS will be fully open source at I/O 2011 just like Gingerbread, so the CM team will most probably support it. Otherwise, I'd stick with the G2x for the better specs, and the screen IMO is fine. It's only a little bit worse than Super AMOLED.
Glass is not curved.

In my experience the G2x screen is WAY better than any other phone I have ever used at one important thing... it is easy to view in direct sunlight. Better blacks and rich colors are great when you're huddled in the dark, but there are times when I want to go out and see both the world and my cellphone screen at the same time. The G2x is the best I have ever used in this regard.
As for the trade... i'd be tempted, but I'm sort of a path of least resistance kind of guy. I'd probably stick with what I know. I have been burned in the past with phones that have issues that don't show up right away while you are testing with your own SIM, so be careful. (Of course that advice would be even more prudent for the potential G2x recipient to follow!)
In the end I think it's whatever works best for you now, and the G2x has killer support right here in river city. I wouldn't worry too much about future proofyness, the future is seriously uncertain as it is.
I'm going to trade. Samsung tends to be better at making phones. They've made much more than LG. Also, my phones a lil bit knicked up. The one I'm getting is new. As long as the phone I'm getting doesn't lag like my Droid on gingerbread I think I'm fine to take the deal

Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA App
The only reason I would swap is because it is guaranteed that I will get ICS other than that I wouldn't swap it.
G2x is superior in every other way, and if we happened to get ICS through Cyanogen we will be already superior in every aspect against the Nexus S.
The only reasonable thing for me to do is to get the new Nexus if cyanogen doesn't update our phone to ICS.

Don't compare my phone to a third world piece of junk assult rifle. If the G2x were truly a weapon, it would be something more like a PS90 or a Magpul Masada.
Dont mean to start a flame-war but, I also heard Samsung does better jobs with their RMA/Warranty than LG. It's just what i've heard.
Nexus s owns the g2x not by hardware stats but by shear support, longevity and dedicated updates for issues from Google directly. No carrier or manufacturer issues to deal with. That's a win win.

Put it this way, Nexus S is a prettier Vibrant 4G, without 4G, a SD card slot, and NFC Support. I loved the Vibrant 4G and wanted the Nexus S from my dad. I tested the G2x at T-Mobile, bought it, and don't regret it one bit. Samsung make better devices than LG, but Stock Gingerbread with an amazing launcher(extreamly fast launching) and dual core with an amazing battery, I wont leave G2x. If anything, trade for a Samsung galaxy S 2, from what I heard, best phone ever and looks like it too

I currently own in the house a g2x, nexus s, mytouch 4g, sensation and a firefly for the kiddo...with all the issues from the g2xs ive ran through its almost worth using the firefly....on a serious note the nexus s had a few let downs for what should have been a flagship phone when it arrived, though its been THE most reliable. They could have pushed more features into it. That being said...Ill use the sensation now until the prime arrives. No more screwing with carrier/manufacturer updates F THAT NOISE!
The G2x haters are still hanging around this forum. They must be closet g2x lovers. You have the sensation which is basically eye candy otherwise it really sucks. And I dare one of you to get a better quadrant score on the nexus s with its "single" core than my g2x. I can tell you I got a low 2900 on my g2x compared to a nexus s at 1850. Not even close. The nexus is a nice fone but you can't put it up against a g2x. And as far as the g2x being ugly, you're off again. Its a good looking fone maybe not as good as nexus s but I have a ton of roms that I could put on my fone that would put the nexus to shame.

Galaxy S 4G (rooted) or Sensation (rooted)???!

Okay not sure where to have put this, but since my wife & I have these phones (I use the Galaxy S), I'm wondering if you guys can help me decide here.
I currently use the Galaxy S (rooted) and it works nice for me. I love the photo quality and nice screen, even though seems a bit bright regardless of settings.
But using my wife's phone (Sensation - NOT rooted yet), the Sensation just feels better to me for some reason?!? I'm not too sure how the photo quality is, but I do like that it has a flash & led notification.
So basically I'd like to get some opinions on people who actually root their phones, not the opinion of an everyday android user who doesnt root.
What are the pros & cons?? Because if I want to, I can just give her the Galaxy S and I'll take the Sensation.
Well the sensation is dual core with a better resolution. I prefer sgs4g though for the screen.
Sent from my SGH-T959V using XDA App
Sensation for sure
Look for screen filter in the market, you can lower the screen brightness more than the stock minimum settings.
Sent from my SGH-T959V using XDA App
Sensation for sure. SGS4G is good for what it is, but Sensation is in another league. Especially if you like flashing a variety of ROM's.
If you want led notifications root and flash the bali kernel it lets you use bln (download in market) it turns the the bottom buttons into a notification light
Sent from my galaxy s 4g using XDA app
Thanks for input guys.
I dont have the Bali kernel, but may consider it.
I guess I'm just over the Vibrant/Galaxy feel?!?
I see my wife's Sensation and it feels sturdier to me, plus the fact that it is dual-core, I would assume would let me do more with less lag right? I always seem to be using my phone for surfing or streaming on wifi that may demand a lot from the phone.
I think I'm gonna just swith with her.

TBH there is no real noticeable speed increase with dual core.
But I would chose the Sensation purely because a 4.3" qHD screen looks so amazing... Plus it has more RAM and on board memory than the GS4G.

Definitely Sensation. G2x doesn't have a qHD plus it's .3'' smaller.
The G2x just has far too many hardware problems and such that I have read. The Sensation's development will now boom with the emergence of CM7.
Plus you'll get a variety of ROM's that you won't get on the G2x, mainly you'll have the option of Sense 3.0 ROM's which the G2x doesn't have of course.
Plus the Sensation has 50% more RAM than the G2x if you like playing heavy games.

Sensation 4g vs G2x

So I side purchased a HTC sensation to compare wit our G2x and I have to say the G2x is not even comparable with it. The games run so horrible laggy on the sensation and the screen is so unclear compared to IPS display. The only good thing is the camera and even so it still performs horribly in dark places compared to the great flash and focus of the G2x. Here is where Tegra's chip making is superior and I noticed everything from battery life to app loading, multi tasking and even ICS performance was better even if the Sensation has leaked official firmware. So props to all the devs that have made our G2x comparable to such phones as the HTC Sensation and more.

Briefly. Owned a MT4G for a long time before I traded it for this G2x, and loved it. Can't imagine the Sensation being any worse.

Did you root the sensation and flash custom roms and launcher? Give us some more details on the testing you did. Lotta factors go in to determining a good comparison, processor, UI, battery etc...

Yes, full s-off & ran various gingerbread systems including sense, stock, aosp, and miui. But to be fair, since I'm running CM9 on my G2x I loaded Android Revolution ICS Sense 3.6 and even alpha Sense 4.0 to compare ICS functionality. Through out 2 weeks I tested battery life and that's how I came to the conclusion that the G2x is overall better. Their is way more devs on the sensation but because of the size most of each ROM or mod is very unsupported unlike our community where we have a few but very dedicated devs with amazing rom's.

i owned a evo 3d which is very similar and its not a bad phone. you guys have better dev support honestly.
I dont play games.......so i cant say anything about that
The G2X does have a better display i feel, the hi rez evo 3d one was ehhhh.....
i do miss the larger screen just a little bit but not too much. for me...(abq, nm) I finally get 4g ish speeds. usually 3-5 mbits down everywhere in my city.

I have both also. I am selling my sensation because the screen is crap compared to the G2X.

I love the qHD rez of the Sensation, but after playing with them for around 15 minutes, I liked the G2X more. The screen is brighter, clearer, I like the aesthetics of it, and the 1.3 mp FFC compared to the VGA on the Sensation. The Sensation was thinner I think, but also a bit slower. Not sure if this had to do with Sense running the whole time or the Snapdragon CPU being crap. It has 768 MBs of RAM compared to our 512, so I thought it would handle multitasking better.

I really wanted the sensation because I do like the look of the HTC devices. Now I want an Amaze but I am very content with the G2x. May pick one up to play around with at some point.
At one point of time I swore by HTC device. After exploring around with different manufacturers ie Samsung, LG etc. I'm not so thrilled by their lower hi class devices such as the Sensation, Evo 3D etc.
I have had my share of ppcs, androids and etc. I adore the performance of my G2x and tegra 2.

+1 I've owned HTC, Samsung and LG devices and I would put HTC's hardware as dead last out of the bunch. I use a co-worker's Sensation pretty often and there is no comparison between the two devices. The camera, the lone redeeming quality of the Sensation, takes pictures that look good on the device, but terrible once you view them in full size on a tablet or computer. I was tempted to get a Sensation when I bought the G2X because it had a fully functional ICS ROM (albeit one that is a Sense ROM with Sense stripped instead of AOSP). I'm glad I chose the G2X. The Sensation is not a bad phone, just not a great one either.

Heck yeah.. That's very close to my experience also. I'm very glad I choose the G2X too.
When i was shopping around for a T-Mobile device I was looking to go back to a up to date sense device. I read that HTC is going to slim down on sense on future device so it doesn't tax the ram as much as it do.
