[Q] Emails - Shortcuts & Text to Speech - General Questions and Answers

I have 2 questions for fellow users & Mod of this forum.
Q1. Do you know how can I set up shortcuts in my android email client while writing
emails.
For example - I want "TFYE" to convert into "thanks for your email"
or "T&R" to convert into "Thanks & Regards". One of my buddies does that in
BB and it saves lots of time.
Q2. How can I have my Android phone read me my emails (Text to
Speech) as they arrive. Specially when I am driving and Bluetooth in ON.
Any help on above questions will be greatly appreciated.

Send text message to group contacts only on not answer call

Thank you to all the developers on this site. It has answered already most of my queries that I had upon receiving my new HTC Diamond 2.
I am very happy with the device and using some of the tweaks and programs the phone is now nearly set up exactly how I want it.
However there is one feature that I think is missing. As standard the HTC D2 will allow a call to be rejected and a standard text message be sent. But this will be sent to all callers.
I do not want to spend money sending a sms to cold callers for example. Just wondering if it would be possible to create an application that could expand on the standard function.
Some ideas for the app would be:
Send sms only to contacts in the address book that are included in a catergory or multiple catergories.
Send a different sms depending on the catergory of the contact.
Set up profiles to define the reason for not answering call, eg in meeting, driving, sleeping etc
Of cause the above list is not exhaustive.
Would like peoples opinions on this function and whether some one would be able to create. I would of course offer to test the app. Sorry do not have the current skills to create the app.
In advance thanks for reading this message and for replies.

[REQUEST] Help fix IMAP/POP/Exchange Folders in Android with 1 Click

Having recently switched to Android from WM, I was shocked at how a relatively new OS has a default e-mail client that doesn't support moving emails between folders in non-Gmail mail accounts. If you're a corporate user, you know what I mean.
I was equally shocked to find this issue labeled a Medium Priority by Google, being down at 26 on the list well under things like:
Feature Request: "pure" ipsec vpn client (cisco-compatible)
FLAC file support enhancement request.
Enhancement: Call Recorder
Plus a host of other non-standard functionality. If you're interested in helping improve this everyday issue, please take 5 seconds to star this issue at:

All you have to do is be logged into Google and hit the star button.
Thanks in advance.

[Q] SMS app that indicates received/sent?

Got a Desire Z with Cyanogenmod 7.
The SMS app displays only with whom I was in contact but it does not indicate if I received the SMS from that person or if I sent it.
I tried a couple apps from market but they were all alike, including GO, Pansi, one other I already forgot. (Plus they had tons of features I don't need, ad supported. I need something *simple*.)
Suggestions appreciated.
I don't really get what you are asking for. Sms to and from one person are grouped in conversation. You can see which sms you sent by looking at the alignment of the person's picture (or placeholder for that). If you wrote it, its right-aligned.
I believe the OP is asking like the other NON-Smart phone SMS display like you see messages in folders with Inbox and Sent items.
Well in android, I have no need for that coz grouping is the next generation and much logically displays your logical conversation.
Still you can do all your SMS tasks with this.
Did you try Handcent sms app?
