As the title says, and much to my surprise a cheap replacement battery i bought on ebay (http://goo.gl/y4RML) for my Omnia 7 makes my phone reboot constantly when put to charger or USB. Works fine when not charging.
Just out of curiosity, what is the reason for this, other than battery being a cheap replacement?
On a side note, the original battery weights 4.7g more than the replacement, as measured by my perfectly working digital scale i bought on ebay.
BUMP
I just bought another one, same problem. So I'm calling it quits and buying an OEM battery.
Same problem, I try a non original battery and now when I try to charge my original battery my omnia reboot
Decided to sell my Omnia......although I liked Windows a lot, the battery does not charge very quickly, it will not charge above about 90% and I have tried 3 different batteries, 2 or 3 chargers etc. all with the same result. The phone needs either a software update or hardware mods.......Samsung get your finger out and fix this problem......
I also found it very difficult to get a genuine battery, had to buy a 3rd party battery which did not seem as good........
Bump... I also bought 2 cheap batteries for Omnia 7, and had the same problem, although it works ok, when you plug in the charger (or microUSB on PC), after 3-4 seconds the phone reboots. and then boots again, and instantly reboots...leading to an endless booting-rebooting loop. When you disconnect the cable, it's boots ok.
The batteries I got were marked 'Made in China' (made in Korea for the original). Also they had a (slightly) different P/N: EB504465VB (chinese) vs EB504465VU (original)
I have tried to charge the battery when the phone is in Download mode. It works, but I'm afraid that the constant image of the bootloader may burn in the Omnia7 AmoLED screen.
Has anyone found any decent source of replacement batteries for Omnia7 (apart from Mugen, that is very pricey)?

Does that dock charges only the battery? Can nyou provide a link, if you have bought it online? I have found some docks on ebay, but not for omnia7 specifically. They say the y are universal for almost all types of batteries. Do you have a universal one or a omnia7?
I bought this: cgi.ebay.it/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=190666195369#ht_4052wt_1134
p.s.: i can't post full link beacuse I'm under 8 post...
Grazie newfl, i found it.
The batteries that came with the dock charger had the same problem, right? What is their Part Number, EB504465VB 'or' EB504465VU?
Part Number is EB504465VB. Yes they have same issue
Have any of you noticed if the battery really is 1500mAh? The packaging says 850, which is ridiculous. Can you get through a day with 1hour calls, some IM, 2 hour music, 1 hour gaming, 1 hour reading an ebook, etc, the usuall?
I'll probably buy an original battery though, as i plan to keep this phone for at least a year more.
The ones I got are very identical to the original, and they say 5.55Whr / 1500 mAh. Their difference is the manufacurer country (original Korea, replacement China) and the last letter of their P/N (thing that might explain their incompatibility).
I didn't have the change to fully test the batteries, because of the aforementioned charging compatibility problem, but I expect my dock charger in any moment, and I will provide comparative results firstly on WPBench, then on real life.
So here it goes:
WP Bench Battery Test
==================
Settings: Airplane Mode: ON, GPS: ON (forgot it on so left it on for all tries), Brightness: LOW, Backgroung Agents: Disabled (through forcing Battery Saving Mode)
Replacement Battery: 1st:02h 40min 06sec, 2nd:02h 45min 08sec, 3rd: 02h 43min 43sec
Original Battery: 03h 41min 29sec
There is a big difference (original > replacement 34%) that I don't know if it is because of the low actual capacity of the replacement battery (despite its capacity is cited at 1500 mAh, the same as the original battery), or because of the not good charging of the dock charger (although the phone index in every case stated 100% when the freshly charged battery was inserted)

It's fake. There is no chance a company being able to squeeze that much power into a battery package the same size. Otherwise Samsung would have included a 2000mah+ battery already!

The gold brand battery capacity shouldn't be trusted. Like the post above me, there is no way you can cram a lot more mah with the same battery technology while having the same physical size as the original battery. At best you can have 10% more than the original, but from my experience, most of the original battery already maxed out their capacity for their size.

How long have you had it and no issues? Some of these third party batteries can be flafy and this seems awfull cheao.I am interested to hear your experience.
I've had it maybe 2 weeks now and I don' t take it out still waiting on my external charger from hong kong. It really works great and for 17 bucks if it lasts me 2 months I'll be happy but this particular seller has had no complaints about her batteries so I would give it a .

How many hours did you get with the stock 1500 mAh battery?
Good find.
I'm guessing this battery is compatible with the Imagio? I don't see it listed under compatability.
Definitely compatible, It is 8:30 in the am I charged it the night before last I have 32 percent battery left currently. Now yesterday was a lighter than normal phone usage day for me but I made calls and checked email all day. The oem battery lasts me from about 8 in the morning till about 7 in the evening which is my normal usage which I consider heavy. I email, call, text, and scan documents with it all day long. I would say the rhodium 1600mah battery would get me to about 9-930 before needing to put it on the charger or replacing the battery. With two batteries you can't go wrong. If you are dying in the afternoon to early evening don't expect this battery to last you till midnight because that's unrealistic. Stock this phone has several applications that access the internet and cell phone towers constantly so if you consider what it is done the battery life is quite good, especially compared to my fiance's droid.

This is what I use because I can charge my phone, mp3 player, bluetooth headset and my battery operated lighter (don't ask was a gift) and never have to pull it in and out of the socket. You can plug a unpowered usb hub and charge several at once. And then you always have your data cable on you.

hey guys,
just wanted to let you know that i've found this website where you can buy this item for only $8.49 - bargain!
i have used andida batteries in the past for 2 other phones and they've not only increased battery life but they are also quite reliable. (eg. My x10 mini pro used to heat up when charging but with the andida it didn't)
so here is the website . check it out:
search in google - obostore 1600mAh andida bp6x
(dunno why server wont let me put a website here)
hope you all find it useful!
i need to wait for mine to get here which will take 2 weeks.
i'll update everyone on its performance when i can
Will i need new Back Case?
Sent from my T-Mobile G1 using Tapatalk
the website saids it fits original device.
so no back cover needed apparently!
Personally, I'd be wary about these knock-off batteries (especially being so cheap as well!).
me too! but i've used andida batteries for the last 2 phones i've had
and they not only worked better but lasted longer!
obviously i will check the labels and make sure its a legit battery.
still waiting for it to arrive!

its not a bad increase. if you can get 24hrs out of the standard battery then you can get nearly 3 and half hours more with this..
I really don't trust on "higher batteries".

i bought 1 of the batteries but i have a small problem since as soon as i put on the phone instead of the battery indicator i get a ? and when i charge it it says battery cannot be charged please use original motorola battery.
any help?
any help pls?
Milestone 2 works well only with original battery bp6x and bp7x, probably because of an embedded control chip
You can charge your non-original battery with a external dock, there's nothing else you can do
have you tried contacting the supplier and asking them? that would be the obvious first port of call! maybe its a duff one.
I will try that i am just asking here to see if anyone had the same issue
Sent from my MotoA953 using XDA App
It is well known (at least in the german speaking board I am mostly active on) that the Milestone 2 only accepts Original BP6X (maybe BP7X? never heard of them) Batterys.
As patton82 wrote, you can charge it externally and use it, thou you won't see how much percent you have left nor charge it inside the MS2, so at best it is a "emergency battery" to carry with you charged.
There are problems even with "original" BP6X due to a lot of illegal copys of them which look legit at first (differences are quite small) and some online-shops sell them even without knowing they are not original ones.
Regards,
sceada
thanks for your help then
google search
I had da exact same problem with a non-original 2400mAH battery. I Inserted it and it worked fine jus' didn't show da battery percentage, simply not being able to read the battery because it wasn't an original, and jus' showing a "?" icon instead.
It was very annoying, seen as I was excited to have an extended battery to make up for the POOR Milestone 2 battery, but in the end I jus' contact the seller and was issued a refund. Brought it off Amazon frm a third party seller by da way.
Anyway, would flashing a new/specific rom GREATLY improve the battery life of my Milestone 2? Or is there an alternative extended life battery that is compatible. Someone please help, and sorry for da story. Thanks

Does anyone know where it is possible to get original motorola BP6X batteries for sure? Preferably not for a price worth half the price of the phone now
I've few of those ultra-cheap chinese batteries as a backup battery in case my main battery dies. However It looks like my main battery won't hold charge as when new and I would like to have that original battery capacity once again (plus cheapo battery backup ofc)
I bought this battery and it's amazing. It lasts for days using a stock ROM with Juicedefender... I guess custom ROMs won't need JD.
My last try (after having bad experience with noname 2500mAh replacement battery which was a waste, and 3000mAh S3 battery which did not fit).
Just ordered AceSoft 2600mAh http://www.ebay.com/itm/AceSoft-260...d=100033&prg=1011&rk=1&rkt=4&sd=181188883709& (w/o NFC)

there is also another one from sporting persistence http://www.ebay.com/itm/4-Accessory..._Cell_Phone_PDA_Batteries&hash=item4176c8f4f7
but this one I don't mind anymore, for those who is interested can have a look
edit:

THE RESULT
So, after warming it up for some days, I decided to make benchmarks, and did it with two different apps.
While the stock battery (1800mAh) drains 30% for the same test in the same time, the AceSoft battery drains 40% although it is allegedly 2600mAh (or 2830mAh).
Also, the AceSoft is the same as the sunsky 2500mAh noname replacement battery. Looking in it clearly they only changed the sticker and selling it this way. You can see the battery material is identical in design.
------
Thus, no need to buy that! I am tired and give up trying any other batteries.
cheers guys
I want to try the battery of the Galaxy Note, the dimensions of it are almost equal.
Has anyone tried it?
Hi folks!
So I received the battery from AceSoft today and the first thing that impressed me was that Im reading on it "2850mAh", so let's see.
To get confident that it is not just a sticker over another noname replacement battery I pulled down the red sticker a bit to check whats behind, and I see at least no other sticker behind, only the battery. But unfortunately the design of the battery looks like same the replacement battery from sunsky, both bit different to the stock one.
I put the battery into the phone and it got already about 50% juice. The only weird thing was that on my first use, the phone was working and reacting very slow. I put to charging and waited 10min, when it was still slow, then just rebooted and now it is fine. Is that normal with the first use? I hope it was only once.
Will see and report the results these days!
@Balthasar85 sorry, haven't tried it and don't know about it
when plugged in for charging, i found out that it stops charging as soon it reaches 4.3 V or reaches a temperature of 43 C to prevent any damage. it got (from 10%) to about 85% charge, i then need to wait about 20min till it cools down a little and comes lower state in voltage, in order to proceed fully charging.
maybe it needs some training in the first usage, in order to get used to charge completely. will see..
but for now i am fine with the battery
Looking forward to the results

Hello,
For now, as I guessed it is better when charging over USB from pc, because the temperature of the battery stays always cool below 40°C, not getting quickly warm as through the charger, neither does the voltage reach as quicker to 4.3 V. You can see in the pics attached.
Though I have to say that I am using a different charger and not the original charger (american) because I am in Europe, as the power supply socket is different here.
I previously read for extended batteries, they need a few charges to get out the full capacity. In the screenshot we can see that the charging jumped from 92% to 100%. I then waited a bit, and recharged smoothly again. I believe this is normal for the beginning and will be fixed after some uses/recharges.
the screenshots include the graphs while charging in % of the battery state, Temperature (it is more warm before the charging, because I was using the phone) and in Voltage, all of during the same time range. and the re-raising to 100% in the last pic.
will definitely let you all know the further results.
cheers for now

i don't want to sound like a douche but the outcome was to be expected. given a definite size for a battery, there's only so much power you can cram into it and it's already highly unlikely that a 3rd party cheap battery would match or slightly surpass the branded original one, that it's basically just screaming scam when dirt cheap, noname batteries claim insane power like 2600-2850 mah vs the stock 1900
There are ways to cram more power into the same space. Using higher quality cells or better manufacturing can lead to better batteries. I'm not vouching for any of these off brands, and in most cases you can consider them bad, but there are exceptions. But it seems finding a reputable brand or original S3 batteries would be your best bet for extended slim batteries

Short but powerful,
Without all the blablabla straight to the point. I got ?fooled? by a phone company 's expert(?) who told me this was not going to do any damage to my phone, and refused me to give me my money back after i found out that the battery was not good(the same as OEM z710e voltage ratings) when i came home.
I have a z710e, it came out of the factory in 2011. Original battery specifications:
m/n BG58100 p/n 35H00150-02M (3.7VDC 5.62Whr 1520mah)
The battery triple checked by "Expert" and sold by him is a:
m/n BI39100 p/n 35H00170-01M (3.8VDC 6.08Whr 1600mah)
My phone model: z710e (PG58130) original battery p/n: 35H00150-02M from 2011.
Next time I'll check this stuff myself and don't let those people do it for me. They either don't have any good batteries for this model and just sell the one that actually over volts your phone. Or other batteries and so had in his mind to sell me this and don't care about it, like "oh well who the heck cares, this person will never find out and will return to me when his phones is death". Well I'm pretty sure that this will not make my phone last any longer than a year / half a year or less! And i still need it for a year or longer if possible.
Feel free to reply, but only if you know that what you are telling is 100% correct. Please avoid non-valid information or answers, thanks :good:

The question in a nutshell is simply : Will this higher end battery do damage to the phone and is my story right, i mean is this battery not compatible with my model because it can do damage duo to over volting the ma inboard/soc (because of higher battery output ratings?)

First of all you should search a little bit more to see that the same battery (35H00170-01M) is offered by numerous companies as a replacement battery for various phone models (Titan, Vivid, z710e...) just like the battery from your phone (35H00150-02M) is offered for the same models.
Then, you can find the same battery (35H00170-01M) offered with different voltages, both 3.7V and 3.8V, and the difference of 0.1V will not harm your phone, cause, you can see it yourself, voltage rating for the original phone charger is 5V and it doesn't harm your phone.
And the last, the other data you got for the battery (Whr and mah) mean only that you have battery that should last longer than the original one you have.
I hope I helped...

It indeed is, but i have really bad experience with replacement batteries. And those small 'voltage increases'. They end up to die quicker a lot quicker in my personal experience. And i think it is also the reason why, many sellers don't include my model in the compatibility list. The 3.8VDC 6.08whr version is meant for the XL and titan version witch is actually indeed the same but +300mhz overclocked.

It don't has warranty. But it's oke. It is a OEM battery they said. Btw it works fine, only had to use another charger with a output of 1.5a. It would not charge otherwise. But well, lets see how long it keeps working.

Yes i did but it got extremly hot so i switched back to the stock charger. And it actually should be fine? +0.1 volt doesn't matter?
The battery does not hold charge at all. It turns on battery level is 0% and will reboot and do orange/green led indication for as long as you keep it in the charger. When you get it out of the charger and turn it on it will go off as soon as android is loaded up intro the pincode screen. Guy at the store told me the led indication meant that the bettery is at an extremly low level of power and that it just needs to charge some more.
Well i have been charging it for like +5 hours now for sure. Using the OEM charger rated at 5VDC 1A. It is not the cable or faulty charger. If i test the output or on my tablet it works just fine. And with the old battery i'm able to charge it, but the old battery is dead, it does not hold load properly anymore. It drops a lot of times from 80% to 1% in like maybe 30 minutes of usage.
Also when using the GI39100 i cannot get intro adb or recovery..

And with the old battery i'm able to charge it, but the old battery is dead, it does not hold load properly anymore. It drops a lot of times from 80% to 1% in like maybe 30 minutes of usage.
Also when using the GI39100 i cannot get intro adb or recovery..

Faulty battery. It's not about volts, it's about bad battery.
You should require replacement or reimbursement.

It is the second brand new battery the guy in the store put intro it.
Both did the same, it just doens't work.
1. Does not turn on (sometimes when lucky)
2. Holds no charge
I did
1. Wipe battery stats (in the end, like 5 minutes ago from writting. It took me half an hour to get the phone booting while charging)
2. The phone started only twice, now it does nothing anymore (with this new bat).
Also the battery info was all wrong.
When i checked the 1st time when i got it on i went to settings > about the phone > status > batterystatus it did show me(i left it nearly 3 hours like this and still 0%):
- Batterystatus: Unknown <----------------- Before battery stat wipe, after wipe still the same, no power on.
- Battery level: 0% <----------------- Before battery stat wipe, after wipe still the same, no power on.
While it should look like this!
- Battery is being discharged (when not charging)
- Battery level: 93% (old poor battery meanwhile after so much testing already full again)
When i put the old battery in place it works without problems. When i put the new one in it doesn't + battery stats are not even readed by android itself and recovery menu stated a warning. "Warning phone is under-volted" or some message like that. And the LED indicator flash in an unusual way (orange/green) this probably is an error code. Well, complete nonsense because i use the same charger. And the XL version has the same 1A charger, so this makes no sense. The battery is just not compatible.
The battery has been charging for almost 13 hours now. And still 0% + orange/green led flashes.
I have no tools here i had to imprevise with crap, gluetape and a doorbell to get a cracky 5 dollar multimeter working, LoL.
here is the bat output;
a 0.08 v 20 3.52v hv 750 0.07 hv 200 06.8 with other words it should be fine to run and maybe get 50% battery level. But it is still z3r0~ when i put it in my phone.
Topic prefix can be set to [ANSWERED]. The m/n BI39100 p/n 35H00170-01M battery works just fine in the z710e. Confirmed to work, even with 0.1v increase (does not produce more heat or instability, like some cheap fake batteries do without protection IC xD)
I went back to the store they gave me another battery and it instantly worked. So i had two faulty batteries. Lucky me again haha....
Probably or the store where i got it from does not test bats and throws them intro one big box or just very very unlucky.
The battery stats now work, no warning in recovery menu and no orange/green flashing in the led indication.
So if somebody has the same issue as me, your battery is 100% sure faulty. And you should toss it back to the re-seller for warranty or if you purchased the parts loose RMA it.
Get or an good alternative non-oem brand like anker. That is sure to be safe and good of quality. And never use fake chargers from like cheap Chinese tabs or phones. Often they have terrible output and this can badly damage your battery/phone because the output might not be stable enough and drops and increases a lot of times, either using a 2A charger does not make any sense at all. It will go just as fast as a 1A charger because the limit is 1A through(in most phones some can have other ratings). Only thing that can damage your phone/battery is if you go over the 5VDC. More volts = more heat = less lifespan. Amps are taken by the device and volts are given.
Confused
The new battery i have now is a BI39100 35H00186-00M. The 35H00170-01M does not seem to work in a PG58130 z710e or i had two faulty batteries... ?
So, my phone, which is the THL T6 PRO, has the charging light and it was charging perfectly fine up to 65% and then it started draining down. The phone is conected to a plug. Is this because of the battery?
Before the charging port was kind of loose but I managed to fixed that as of now the charger isn't loose. phone being idle takes 50% of battery life?
My phone has the "same" problem: charge until 66/67% and stay at this percentage for 15/20 minutes. Then it continues to charge.
I'm going to search online a new battery (i've already ask at my seller to ship another one, i'm waiting..) and I've find a 2680 mah battery, but I don't know if is for the t6 pro
(sorry for my english )

I found one from this website that has 2250mah which is 350mah more than the original.
If you search up Aliexpress.com and type up T6 Battery you should be able to find it. I could send you a link but since I'm new to this website and have not posted more than 10 post it won't allow me, sorry.
I'm just going to buy the normal 1900mah battery because the battery life for me is good enough as to what I do in my normal days.
Don't worry for the message. I'm going to search what you tell me. Meanwhile I'm waiting the new battery, hope that it works fine.. Otherwise I'll buy another with an high amperage. We'll wait for other people that have the same problems!
Hey man, i've an update: i have another battery (the seller of the smartphone has shipped a similar battery because I tell him that the mine doesn't work very well) and this is very incredible; no battery drain, no stopping charge at 66-67% how I said a few posts ago. When I woke up in the morning I use the phone since the 10am until the 9pm with intense use (data network always on,web, whatsapp, 30mins of calls, online game like clash of clans) and it still works for another hour (because it has yet 25% of battery).
I think that I solved the problem. Hope that you can do the same. Best regards.
