Signal problems....which rom is best? - HTC Desire S

I am having some signal problems with my phone. Sometimes it is so bad I dont get any incoming calls or texts for hours after sent......
I am using the saga v3 rom at the moment.
any tips what I can do?
Is there a better rom or is it something to do with the radio?
Thanks

Signal is mostly addicted to the radio. So i recommended you that you first try out some radios befor you change the Rom

I think the Same Change your Radio... If you search a good rom try cyanogen

Ohh what for me

Sorry for all the new threads I'm starting, but as a new inspire user I have many, many questions. My question here is what Rom should I run? I'm looking for stock feel, but with extra features and fast performance.,decent battery life, sense, great support, popularity, and most of all, stable. I can't decide between Android revelution and rcmix or whatever. I kinna want to overclock but its not a deal braker. Also I'm looking for something with a better radio. My signal is crappy rite now and ive tried a few different radios without prevail lol. Please, any opinions are appriciated

Ya the raisins will depend on location. I'm not a fan though.
RCMixHD is a great choice. I also like Honeysense for the theming and Coredroid for the battery life and buttery smoothness.
Check out leedroid its been trouble free for me

Best, don't know. But, the other day, on a medium use day, I still had 26% battery left after 22 hours.
*** disregard this post I didn't realize you were only considering sense based roms. ***
With my very heavy usage and not the best signal in my basement I have had the best luck with gingerbeast. Never had 22 hours... when the screen is on for an average of 3 hours a day I don't think ill ever see that.
Granted I've only tried three roms, miui leedroid and now gingerbeast.

Sorry, didn't see you were on your phone (it's in my sig on the full board).
CoreDroid 6.7 with mdj's v22 kernel overclocked to around 1200 mhz. I'm running the at&t 06.06.30 radio with matching ril. Turn sense syncing off.
Sent from the computer I carry in my pocket.

Thread so maybe other users can maybe benefit from it. I appriciated it bro. And I know I'm really coming off as a huge newb, but I'm not. Im an ex flashaholic who states up days on end flashing roms and really don't wanna go through the whole setup proccess 5 million times until I find a good one,i know it differed due to everything being based on opinions but if someone provides a setup (Rom+kernal+radio) for me,then maybe it will help me narrow it down. I don't have a problem browsing the thread, but I'm the type to have 50 gazillion questions behind my main question so a "quick search" usually consists of tons of searches which lead to confusion most of the time lol. But thank you guys for understanding and helping a new inspire user out. I just wanted to make it clear that I'm not some newb with no knowledge looking for all the answers without looking my self. Once o get used to the inspire, and the threads,I'm sure ill help some newbs out along the way. Thanks for the kindness guys. It's rare in the forum world these days Haha

here is the radio and ril
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1106324
Rom: CoreDroid v6.7
Kernel: MDJ's v22
I think that CD 6.7 has MDJ's kernel by default, but don't hold me to it. I saw in the changelog that v6.8 (due out today) has the latest Lee Kernel. I used GTG's RIL flasher in Rom Manager to flash the RIL after installing the radio, but there's instructions at the link burton provided.
I have been using LeeDriod for awhile now jumping back and forth to other roms but I for some stupid reason like sense and the 3.0 lockscreen. from what I have been seeing in others change logs is that they are using the leedriod kernel of and on so he must be doing something right, as for Radios I stopped flashing the after the latest release of the stock AT&T radio, I really never noticed any difference with anyone's radio

Need a ROM suggestion

Hey guys quick question I've been working with my brother in laws t bolt.
When you flash a radio from hboot is that like fast boot before recovery?
and since he is rooted what rom its solid and should I flash so I don't have to revisit it again I had das bamf 1.63 running but have had a few reboots and gps locking issues

Do you have the Gingerbread Radio currently or froyo. If you have Froyo I would def go with BAMF Stripped its a great rom with great battery life and none of the crappy sense. If you have Gingerbread then go with the GINGERITIS rom which has been running great for me in terms of stability and battery life and ofcourse the uber cool sense 3.0 lockscreen with shortcuts.
And for your Hboot question it is is the white screen with little androids at the bottom . It will tell you if you have S-ON S-OFF and other information such as what radio you are running.

Truthfully, ROM choice is a matter of personal preference and whatever anyone tells you here is just their opinion. All of the ROMs for TB on XDA are in the Development section, so it would do your brother-in-law justice to have him pick what he wants based on the features.
Ill recommend Liquid Gingersense. I used Liquids ROM's throughout the year/s with my Original Droid 1 and they were fantastic and Ive stuck with them ever since. Always very fast and stable and usually its updated quite frequently.
Go for the sense 3 preview from Adrynalene. This thing has the best eye candy I have ever seen. If you are looking for something speedy, any of the stripped ROM's would work or CM.
Try them all

this s on or off in hboot screen is that a seting I need to adj?
Once you have permanent root you should have s-off. I if he suffers from random reboots I suggest he run the stock radio the device was shipped with. I have the stock radio and have never had reboot problems. I've tried both das bamf and CM7.

Started out w Chingeys Perfect Storm. If you want to stay froyo, Stay with V1.4. Or today I switched to DroidTh3ory 3.5.1 if you want to try GingerBread!
Both smooth and solid choices
Mike

[Q] which rom to use?

I'm new to the inspire and I was wondering which rom and kernel set up would give the longest battery life I came from the atrix and battery was great cause the battery was huge lol but every rom i've tried has been giving me 9 hours at the most with moderate usage. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated?

Any. Just choose. If you don't like that one, try another. You can also flash roms from the desire HD thread too. But you will need to flash a sound fix

No one is gonna be able to tell you what works best for your device. Flash some roms and test them out. Each device and set up is different. A search would have told you this.

(Q) Best ROM for call quality.

I'm currently on sk8ers 7/14 Cm9 build with Seans modded radio and on the 4.0b Instigator kernel, and apparently people can't hear me most of the time. In the coming weeks, I'll be making a lot of conference calls for work and I'd like superior call quality. Any recommendations? GB or ICS. I'm from Youngstown, OH in case anyone else is from this area and has opinions on the best radio.

Different ROMs have different features but call quality/signal issues is never one of them .. Developers change almost everyhting except the radio/modem part which is develped by Samsung and networks ... Try flashing different radios and see which one is best for your area/usage ... Honestly speaking I have gone through most of the radios and data speeds seem the only thing to differ and never noticed a difference in call quality
I didn't have call quality issues using Seanzscreams rom and radio. I have them now using the same radio and a different rom. So back to my OP.

I still use gingerbread Alien 6.
I've tried many many roms including the newest official ics....but Alien 6 is and has been abdolutely OUTSTANDING...as far as dependable & excellent call quality.

TMOUS Firmware Data Issues (ASOP/CM9)

Hey Guys, I've been scouring the forums for several weeks now trying to figure out an issue. I am a TMOUS user with a Sensation 4G running Elegancia Blitz. And even though I've enjoyed using this Sense ROM, I'd much prefer to use the more pure ASOP/CM9 ROMs. I have the correct 3.32.531.14 firmware flashed on the phone; when I flash non-Sense ROMs (or non-Tmobile) my data connection suffers. I don't get full 4G speeds and signal strength is decreased. Is there a way around this? I apologize if this has already been answered.
Try a new radio/ril combination and see what works best in your area this should help.

I figured, but even though I have a pretty good understanding of Custom ROMs, I am not quite sure how to change/try a different radio.
