PC wont recognize Infuse in Odin at all!!!!! - Samsung Infuse 4G

Long story short, something happend when I was trying to flash Gingerbread.
Tried restoring my last back-up and things went south. The only mode the phone will go into, is Download Mode. If I try to turn it on, it will say Samsung then go to thousands of colored dots. It just keeps cycling that.
Have tried everything to get my PC to recognize the Infuse. 5 Different cables, all the USB ports, unistall and reinstall countless drivers, etc.
Ive literally been on the computer all day with no luck whatsoever.
Hopefully you guys can help out.

what gingerbread did you flash? sounds like you didnt get a package with bootloaders. also if you tried uckk4 it's a fail right off the bat. it is corrupted. look for the kj4 package. the bootloaders are there. then if you must you can update to the kk3 version.
the failure to connect is just windows failing at being an operating sustem and samsung failing at writing drivers. it's common, keep trying. open odin, pull the battery, plug in the cable, hold down the volumes and slide the battery back in. sometimes that helps. wait for windows to recognize the phone and install drivers.

if you want to be able to flash with reliability install the latest ubuntu with the wubi installer (no repartitioning on your computer) then get heimdall for linux debian. no drivers needed in tht combination. ive never had an issue. not even ever.

I had this same issue the first time I tried it, as well, but I pulled up USB Deview and deleted all the instances in which my phone had come in contact with my PC. Then I reinstalled the drivers using Keis.
Have you tried GingerReal yet? I'm running v1.1.9 as of last night and loving it.

Not sure where everyone else has been getting their drivers, but if you get the drivers from Kies Mini You'll be absolutely fine getting Odin to Recognize your phone.

I had an issue once where Odin wasn't recognizing my infuse so what I did was go to device manager and just updated them from there and it worked so give that a try

How exactly do I install the drivers from Kies?
Do I go to Tools, Install Driver? or do I just plug the phone up and see if it recognizes it?

Same here its sooooooo smooth! LOVE IT!!!

Alrighty, downloaded all the drivers from kies. Also did USBDeview and deleted all the times my phone has connected on the computer, still nothing at all.
The computer just wont pick it up at all. What am I doing wrong. I really dont see where I could mess this up.
Its starting to irritate me a little now. I just dont understand why its saying its not connected or anything.

Be sure the cable is in good condition and check different USB ports.

Did you Download Kies Mini and Install It to get the Samsung drivers you need?
You can find the download for Kies Mini Here: http://ars.samsung.com/customer/usa...ID=2&PROD_SUB_ID=557&PROD_ID=560&AT_ID=341559

Yeah, I have Kies. It said it downloaded the Drivers. Ill try the one you gave me the link to though.

Even when you load your phone through Odin sometimes it will take up to a minute for Odin to find the Com Port for your phone.
Edit: I would also try to reboot your computer after installing Kies Mini. Sometimes new drivers install during windows boot up.

Lol No Problem.

Alright, I tried the Mini and still nothing.
Just to make it clear, I pull the battery, hook up the USB cable, Hold the Vol buttons down, put the battery back in and then the Download Screen comes up. Is that the screen that I need to be at so the computer recognizes the phone? Cause I go to that screen and and it doesnt pick it up at all.

Yes put it in Download mode, then Pull out Battery, Unplug USB cable, (The phone should be off now) put the battery back in, Hold down the 2 volume buttons while plugging back in the USB cable and it should come up with the needed screen to get into the correct Download Mode to flash your phone.

Black screen with phone exclamation triangle connecting to computer?

Bricked two stock ee4 phones today flashing jt's voodoo root kernal using the odin in pda mode. Any idea what this screen is and how I can stay away/fix it? after flashing it would fail and stay in this screen. I could get them into download mode but odin would just fail. Tried using the link to the team black hat back up and samsung restore program but that also didn't work the screen would not go away. Any ideas? Thanks

That's what the phone will show whenever you tried to flash something in Odin and it failed. Its a soft brick, nothing major to worry about, you just have to figure out how to reflash the phone. Honestly, nothing you do is a major problem to worry about, as long as you can still get the phone into download mode.
Odin can be really finicky, try using different usb ports. Or even uninstall the device drivers for the USB host and let them reinstall. Remember to close Odin and open it again each time you try, and make sure to check the hash of jt's package you're trying to flash, you may simply have gotten a bad download. Failing that, you may need to try a different computer, or give Heimdall a shot. I'm not sure why these USB flashing utilities can be so finicky, but they can. Rest assured though that the problem is almost certainly not with your phone as long as you can put it in download mode. All you've gotta do is keep trying to find the right combination of flashing program, computer/OS, and usb port, and make sure you have a good file. I know it sounds silly and like a bunch of work, but at least the phones are okay.
I'm used to using odin with my fascinate idk why this phone is kicking my butt ha luckily verizon replaced both phones for me bc they were unable to flash them back to stock as well. His kernal worked once on the first phone then the recovery did the soft brick when I tried to just flash his kernal on the second one it soft bricked again. Thanks for the reply I'm just worried bc I didn't buy my phone from verizon I was lucky enough to have them replace it

Thanks very much for pointing this out. I had played with my phone for several hours after soft-bricking it in this manner before finding this post. Reading this made a light bulb go on over my head, and I tried again plugging my phone's USB cable into another port - one directly connected to my PC's mainboard. My flashing problems with Odin magically went away! Not sure I'd have considered this without your feedback.

I had this same problem yesterday. If your computer detects your phone but not ODIN go to your device manager, click on samsung composite USB device and go to driver details and click update driver(via internet) it should update them and ODIN SHOULD detect it. Good luck
I had this problem yesterday trying to flash to stock. The first time I tried it said FAILED in odin. When I rebooted phone got the cartoon phone and computer icon. I just tried the same thing again and it worked. I don't know what happened either.
In my experience using a different USB cable than what Samsung supplies or having a flaky USB port can cause hit or miss Odin flashes.
I don't think it is possible to brick this phone from flashing. I've done pretty much everything you can possibly do wrong and both of mine still work fine and dandy.
It is possible to be in Download mode and never have anything even come up on the screen. If you are uncertain, listen for the sound your computer makes when you plug in a USB device or watch your device manager. Even if you don't have the driver installed something will most likely show up.

[Q] Skyrocket phone stuck onSamsung Logo

Hi all,
My Samsung Galaxy phone is stuck on the Samsung boot up logo. I shut off the phone and it starts up again to the Samsung logo again. I am rooted but still had the stock rom and kernel.
I went to selections and wiped my cache and tried to format it like a new phone. The same thing still happens. I am not sure what else to do. Anyone know how to fix this?
Keep the instructions simple please, if you do know. (I'm a desperate noob)
Thanks for any help.
IF you ever did nandroid than just restore that otherwise.........
Hey first follow this steps to flash any rom. If you flash the rom properly than you can use any stock rom from dev section and use that.
OR
follow this step to go back to stock and it will unroot you.

Same Problem
My problem is that my Rogers SGSII LTE I727R, is stuck on the logo screen, which is flashing the boot screen. When I connect the USB (even after install of Kies and Odin), my PC does not see the device. I am really not sure what to do. I think I set the wrong phone ID when I installed recovery (I think I was supposed to use the T-Mobil SGSII setting), but I selected something else. I then tried to backup the existing ROM, and am now in this unending loop. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.

Try another USB port or another computer. If you can get the logo you are in a boot loop, the most common form of a soft brick. If you can get into download mode you should be able to fix it.

Don't panic. If you're in a boot loop it's fixable. It's when you get nothing that you need to worry about a hard brick.
Try the button combo mentioned above to get into download mode. If that doesn't work, pull the battery again and try using just the volume down button button--I've heard people say this worked for them when they had a hard time.
If this doesn't get you into download mode, I guarantee you that a jig will work. You can buy one online or make one yourself for about 75 cents and a cut-up data cable (I had a car charger that I didn't need--car charges the phone through USB port, so I cut that one up). Always good to have a jig, at any rate...

(Q) about one click to stock

I've one clicked back to stock before, but not from cm9 herring, the one click shows my phone as disconnected. Windows shows my phone as unknown device when in download mode. I've reinstalled usb drivers. Can I flash a GB rom with no issues then try one click?
Your phone should show connected if the correct driver is installed. Is it a heimdall one-click?
Don't flash a gb rom, only bad things will happen. Fix your driver situation first.

Yes heimdall, I've used it before with no issues, when I connect my phone while it's running it shows up fine. It's when I go into download mode that it doesn't. I'll reinstall drivers again
Crazy in download mode it recognized my phone then a second later didn't
Crazy, it would go from recognizing the phone to not so in my frustration I spam clicked flash and bam it stuck. If I wanna be full stock should I flash bootloader?

Tried a different cable? I got a drawer full of ones that you have to hold a certain angle to get to work.. but, they work on other phones that I have with no wiggle..
