I put the update and recovery in the internal sd card. I installed tnt and when I rebooted I went into a boot loop.
I then put update.zip and recovery ( changing to sdcard2 in command) and I see the box. It installs then it reboots into a boot loop.
What should I try next?

Per this very imformative guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=865245
If your tablet bootloops…
Press and hold the power button to shut the device down. Boot back into Clockwork. Select the advanced option at the bottom, then go to “partition SD card”, for the first option select 4096, and for the second option select 64. Then, redo steps 7-10.

Follow same procedure with microsd 2, but this time install Clockwork .8. Same setup with placing Clockwork on the device.
Once installed you can access Clockwork at power-up by pressing power + volume up. Once there, clear the cache and data (two options on main screen and use volume to scroll and home to select). You should boot up now. If not, some of the XDA elders may need to chime in to help.
If still in bootloop, open Clockwork again, but this time go to bottom to activate USB storage. Connect USB and then activate- this should show you the internal space. Place the TnT 2.4 update in the root of it (no recovery directory).
1. Deactivate USB storage
2. Clean cache and data
3. Chose install update.zip
4. Pick the update.zip
Should be out of the loop once complete.
Try a reflash, clear cache, wipe the user data (in that order, try the next if the previous did not work). Worst case scenario is re-partitioning the SD card which seems to work most of the time.
I have mentioned this before, but I really think that our devices are either not imaged properly or our SD partitions become corrupt over time. I would also argue that clockworkmod is really a requirement for anyone using these mods. It's so critical when problems like this occur.
I tried this:
Instructions for those with clockworkmod .08:
- Extract the RAR and place the update.zip file anywhere in /sdcard (do NOT just copy the original RAR, that won't work! You have to open up the RAR and copy the update.zip inside. You don't need the /recovery folder for cwm). I would recommend putting the file on the root of /sdcard, since it will be easier to upgrade that way.
- Reboot into recovery. Do a backup first, as that's always a good idea.
- Then, choose "apply sdcard:update.zip", assuming you added the update.zip to the root of /sdcard, and run it.
- Reboot.
Note: I have heard reports that this might "Status 7" and I have no fix for that, yet. It seems to be intermittent.

Clockworkmod v.08 only update.zip (for technical users only!) :
I installed the sd card update and I still get the same reboot loop. What am I doing wrong?
The flash was probably successful, but a boot loop occurred afterwards. This does happen. Since you have clockworkmod, you have a lot of things you can do, as I mentioned.
I got it running.
I fixed the adoble flash, installed a pdf viewer, and titanium backup.
I cant't see the tabs in titanium backup for some reason.
My screen does not auto rotate even thought its set to auto rotate.
Install Adw.Launcher , if you want it to rotate.
Hi everyone, I'm a new android/gtab user and looking for some help with installing clockworkmod. I've followed some instructions from this web site. It looks like the installation goes through successfully because I see "Detect a recovery key pressed" followed by "Booting recovery kernel image" after pressing Power and Vol+. A package gets installed and the device reboots normally. they I power down again and try to enter clockworkmod by pressing the Power and Vol+ again and it just keeps doing the same thing over and over. I have in my root the update.zip file and a recovery folder. Am I supposed to delete these after installing? Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Once the tablet boots once it deletes the command file in the recovery folder
Thanks, I've read it through and had the files on the internal SD card exactly as the image in the link shows. I get the message in the upper left corner saying "Detect a Recovery Key Pressed", and then a 2nd line that reads "Recovery Image Detected. After that I see the cardboard box. The tablet then reboots as normal and I do not see any signs of a clockworkmod menu. Can I use the built in data erase function to restore it back to factory conditions and start over? I have rooted it with z4root.

If you are installing from the internal sdcard make sure the line in the "command" file says "SDCARD" not "SDCARD2"
/sdcard/update.zip
/sdcard/recovery/command
The command file deletes every time you boot into recovery even if it doesn't install cwm. Make sure the file is there and pointing to the right sdcard.
You have to reboot after installing to get into the clockwork menu. Power/Vol+. If it doesn't go to cwm recovery it is not installed
Thank you very much! That did it! I did read your suggested link carefully but I guess I just didn't understand it enough to really "get it"
Thanks again!

i hate to start this up again but i'm having the same issue and followed the steps from the other thread about cwm and roms.. to my understanding i followed the instructions and downloaded the file then exstracted it and putting the update.zip file & recovery fold on my enternal sd card but each time i do this it boots up and the two lines of txt appear but once i delete the folders and push the pwr & vol + buttons it just boots up normal again. i think i may be doing something wrong while labeling the files but i've done this at least 8 times already and no dice.. i'm at the point of returning it if i cant manage to get this to work unfortunately i was so excited to get this tablet with such high hopes but now its just a head ache, well if anyone wouldn't mind to give me some pointers, i would be greatly thankful.

Just the first post
SDCARD!
Jalladi,
That is exactly what mine was doing until I edited the COMMAND file that is in the Recovery folder. In my case, I installed CWM on my internal card. After editing the COMMAND file to point to SDCARD instead of SDCARD2, it worked correctly. I used Notepad in Windows to edit the file while connected to my laptop.
Good luck!
Thanks for this forum, worked like a charm. FYI the command file does not have an extension (ie .txt).
I'm sorry I still don't understand, I'm trying to install on the internal card, but just keeps restarting. I see the recovery folder with command file. It doesn't have anything about sdcard or sdcard2. What do I do with the file to correct?
Thank you for your help!!

When you download CWM, you extract the contents of the file. The contents are an update.zip file and a recovery folder with a command file in there (no extension on the command file at all). The command file will have only one of the two lines below, depending on where you are installing from:
--update_package=SDCARD:/update.zip
--update_package=SDCARD2:/update.zip
SDCARD is the internal memory of the tablet, whereas SDCARD2 is the MicroSD card that you have in the SD Slot on the side of the tablet. The update.zip file and recovery folder with the command file inside of it should be placed on the root location of either your internal memory or your MicroSD card. I hope this helps. Good luck.
sorry guys but i made an "uh oh" and need help please! i had Virtuous Unity 1.31.0 & was attempting to flash the beta version. i had blue magic theme on my rom as well. Here are the exact steps i took: downloaded rom, put phone in clockwork recovery, wiped dalvik, wiped cache, wiped data, mounted system, flashed the zip & rebooted. Now i'm looped in the "blue magic" boot animation. what'd i do wrong & can it be fixed. i backed everything up too. i can get it into HBOOT screen by pressing power & down on volume key but am not able to scroll to any of the options. after a cple seconds it automatically selects HBOOT & asks if i want to install update from sd? i assume it's the gingrbread update but i've selected "no" every time so i could talk to someone first. right noe i'm on a publis cpu & it won't allow me to access the phone internals. i need admin passcode. i haven't messed much with playing with my phone thru a cpu so i'm not quite sure i'm even doing it right. sorry for my cpu lack of knowledge but i've adapted to android pretty well. Help please & thank u in advance
problem is that you have a PD98IMG.zip file on your sdcard....
pull the sdcard, boot into HBOOT, select recovery, then pop in the sdcard when you get to recovery

Yup. If you happen to have a PD98IMG.zip on your SD, bootloader will try to flash it everytime and you won't be able to access Recovery. Either pull the SD card until after you've selected Recovery like pirateghost suggested, or find a card reader/other device to read your card to delete PD98IMG.zip
Ok sweet. That got me back to clockwork, slipped the card back in once in recovery, clicked reboot and it still looped. It did say I had that file so I'm guessing I have to find a card reader and delete the file maually now or did I do something wrong?
Thanks so much for ur reply and it looks like I'm going to have to find a card reader and do it manually cuz it still loops. Thank u so much!
Just go in recovery rewipe and flash the beta rom only no themes yet let it reboot it should load right up I think the theme messed you up the bata rom is based I'm 2.3.4 so 2.3.3 themes wont work
sent from my unity loaded inspire 4G
Ok, did all that but Noticed before I rebooted that at the bottom where it shows the processes it's going thru, it says installation aborted. Says E:Can't open/Sd card/ download etc...2.33.0 BETA.zip....(bad). Do I still reboot or attempt to flash again?
Try going into mounts option in recovery and mount the external sd card.
Not giving option to mount. Only unmount so I guess I unmount and try to remount?
Try that and see if it works.
Aborted again. I'm getting worried friend
Still aborted. I'm getting worried friend
Don't worry. It will work out fine. Let me check something and I will reply momentarily.
Thank u so much for helping. I'm wishing I could pay u at this point
Don't worry. Turn off phone. Check to make sure sd card is properly inserted. Power phone back up and boot into recovery. Select install zip and see if you are able to view your files.
Well I can go to install the zip but still aborts
Try going to backup and restore and select restore. Select the backup you said you made and try restoring to your backup. You may have a bad download of the beta rom. Let me know if you can restore. Wipe first.
What happens If I scroll down to that PD98IMG.zip u were talkin bout. I see it on the zip file list...
You don't want to use that. That type of file can only be used in Hboot. It seems like you can see what is on your sd card so it is mounted. The rom file you were trying to flash may be corrupted. Unless you can get another rom on your sd card I would say restore to your backup until you can get another rom on your card and also delete that PD98IMG file.
if it says corrupted that means that your ROM file is corrupted or didnt fully downloaded.
1.Turn Off Phone
2.Take out SD Card
3.Vol+Power to Hboot
4.You will be at recovery mode.
5.Insert Sd Card back in
6.go to Mount
7.Mount your SD CARD(make sure USB is plugged in the computer)
8.Wait a little, your computer will have pop-up, if not go to My computer and click on your Sd Card.
9.Drag in a new fully downloaded rom into it.
10.Unmount the Sd Card
11.Happy Flashing!
sorry if this does not work, tried my best to help. This worked on me, so It should work for you as well.
another method is, if you got a Card Reader(micro chip goes in side a big chip) then put your ROM in their and delete the PD19 blah file, and skip steps 6 to 10
So I performed the HTC bootloader unlock, ran the Revolutionary S-Off. I when to install the PG58IMG, and what I thought was the CWM, turned out to be a radio IMG. Now I have the CWM .img and .zip. Everytime I go to Fastboot it is looking for the original PM58IMG.zip file. So I took the CWM .zip, renamed it to the .zip file the bootloader is asking for but it keeps parsing and saying no IMG found.
HTC Sensation 4G (pyramid 1.17.111, Android 2.3.4, ROM Version 1.50.531.1)
I have gone through as many of the forums as I can, but found no way of fixing this dilemma. The Phone is functional at this time, but my fear is I will screw something up if I keep going. I thought I was following the steps correctly, but I apparently did not.
Can anyone provide me the means to fix this or am I stuck?
Power off your phone, remove battery and sd card, insert your sd card into an adapter and then card reader on your pc. Next browse the files on the card and delete the zip from your sd card. Next find the correct recovery.img, I recommend 4ext, way better than cwm, there's a thread in development forum, download the zip, put it on your sd card, safely remove the sd card from your pc. Put your sd card back into your phone insert battery, boot into bootloader, h boot and choose to install package. You should be fine now.
You also need to root, follow the guides in development section.
Good luck.

Also super cid your phone, most custom ROMs require it and you will prevent problems later down the road if you want to run ICS.

Also, and this should be THE number 1 thing you do before anything else, get the RUU for your phone...saves panicking in the future
By default, the phone will always look for the pg58img or any other IMG zip when its boot to bootloader.... It's normal, don't worry about it. It will say "no image" if there's none found in your sd card's root... If you do have one and don't need it or after using it, remove it from your sd or else it will keep installing whatever inside that pg58img file everytime you boot.to bootlaoder....

Pardon my ignorance...Development forum for Sensation or general development forums? Also this was my hangup in the rooting process. I appreciate the response, but in my opinion my G2 seemed somehow more straight forward.
Sensation Development Forum.
Ok so I have downloaded, installed the 4ext.zip file onto a freshly formatted SD card. Re-ran the fastboot, once again It was still looking for the PG58IMG.zip. Didn't even see the 4ext.zip file. So I unzipped the file, put the unzipped folder on the SD, and again nothing.
Here is what is listed at the top of the H-Boot screen as it is listed:
-Revolutionary-
PYRAMID PVT SHIP S-OFF RL
HBOOT-1.17.1111
RADIO-10.11.9007.06_M2
eMMC-boot
Jun 2 2011.22:31:39
Then my list shows
HBOOT (highlighted)
<Vol Up>
<Vol Down>
<Power>
FASTBOOT (Highlighted)
RECOVERY
FACTORY RESET
SIMLOCK
IMAGE CRC
Now when I go to Recovery, I get the phone image with a arrow circle, then it goes to a red triangle with "!" in the middle.
I am at an absolute loss here. That PG85IMG file I ran previously, was a radio flash I believe, and ever since, FastBoot see's nothing on the SD, unless i change the .zip file to that name, which then Parses.
I understand your frustration and worries, some devices are easier to root then others. As long as your phone is functioning you have nothing to worry about.
It's normal in H Boot for it to look for PG58IMG.zip file, don't worry about it if you deleted the PG58IMG.zip from the sd card nothing will happen. I apologize you have to be rooted first before you can install 4ext recovery, don't unzip it.
When you try to boot into recovery you have no recovery because you haven't installed one. Here is the link to all of the CWM Recoveries http://download.clockworkmod.com/recoveries/ scroll down quite a bit to the pyramid one, that is the one you need for sensation.

Step 3. To permanently root your Sensation - (This means you will NOT LOSE ROOT on rebooting)
1. Download the file su-2.3.6.3-ef-signed.zip from here: DOWNLOAD
2. Copy su-2.3.6.3-ef-signed.zip to your SD card root folder (main folder of your memory card)
3. Start clockworkmod recovery (instructions below. See To Start Clockwork recovery)
4. BACKUP YOUR ROM USING CWM BEFORE ATTEMPTING ROOT!
5. Navigate to "Backup & Restore" using the Volume Down button and press select (power button to select) then select "Backup"
6. Select "install zip from sdcard" after backing up
7. Then select "Choose zip from sdcard"
8. Then select "su-2.3.6.3-efgh-signed.zip"
9. Then select "Yes - install su-2.3.6.3-efgh-signed.zip" to confirm
10. Then go back
11. Then reboot.
12. You're rooted!
It will usually fail the first and second time, possible more but it will work. It will give you an install aborted message a few times, don't worry this is normal, just keep trying, it eventually works.

Ok, just so I'm clear, I download the recovery-clockwork-5.0.2.0-pyramid.zip right? Because I have downloaded that at well, and the FastBoot continues to look for that PG58IMG.zip. No matter what I do, I cannot get it to recognize any .zip's on the SD. I have tried 3 SD card's now. Is there a way for me to reset the FastBoot?

That's what it supposed to do, if there's a PG58IMG.zip on your sd it will see it and ask if you want to update it. The CWM zip should be a PG58IMG.zip choose yes to install.
It won't recognize anything other than PG58IMG.zip as it is not supposed to, your need a custom recovery installed that is how you flash all other zip files.
The way I see the file you are downloading you have to rename it to PG58IMG in order for it to work.

Yup, did that too, and unfortunately it keeps parsing.....so frustrating. The only thing I can come up with is to try to figure out a way to start over, but at this point, not sure that is possible. Let me try something and I'll post results.
I GOT IT!!!!!! I finally found the correct PG85IMG.zip file after multiple searches. I actually found the right file from:
http://www.mediafire.com/?bqy928akq0oty8e
I downloaded it and it fired right up! I'm backing up the image now, and am getting ready to invoke su-2.3.6.3-ef-signed.zip now.
I appreciate the input, and have "Thanked appropriately"
Glad you got it working. I know a lot of the links got messed up when the feds shut down certain file sharing sites.

You are actually doing a mistake. Remember your sensation's hboot can only read a zip file whose name is PG58IMG.zip. Generally it is an uncompressed zip file. So anything (like radio, splash, recovery) you want to flash has to be inside this (PG58IMG.zip) uncompressed zip file along with another file called android-info.txt. The file android-info.txt just contains your CID and MID. So HBOOT check the PG58IMG.zip on the root of your sdcard---> reads the android.info.txt ---> checks your CID ----> if it matches , then hboot prompts for an update . If does not match , hboot gives an error something like "model id incorrect". So if you want to install a custom recovery , you have to download your recovery file . Generally it is .img format. Then you have to rename it recovery.img , then pack it in a uncompressed zip file along with android-info.txt. The resulting zip file has to be renamed as PG58IMG.zip . Following is the method what you need to follow.
1. Download an appropriate PG58IMG.zip file from this thread. By the word appropriate I mean that the PG58IMG.zip is having your CID and MID. Hope you know your CID and MID. The PG58IMG.zip can be of any version. I would suggest V1.17 as it has less files. If you are superCID, then you can download V1.17 firmware from any section.
2. Download latest 4EXT recovery touch from the development forum. It will be in img format. Rename it to "recovery.img"
3. Open the PG58IMG.zip by winrar on your pc.
4. Delete all the files except the android-info.txt.
5. Add "recovery.img" into the PG58IMG.zip .
6. Now your PG58IMG.zip contains only two files i.e "recovery.img" and "android-info.txt"
5. Save the PG58IMG.zip.
6. Copy the PG58IMG.zip on the root of your sdcard.
7. Boot your phone into bootloader.
8.Your phone will prompt for update.
9. Say "yes" by pressing volume up key.
10. Once it is finish your phone will reboot and you will have 4ext touch recovery on your phone.
11. Now you are ready to install any custom ROM of your choice. Your present bootloader is 1.17 which supports only gingerbread rom . If you want to install ICS ROM then read here.

What exactly did you download and provide the link so others can confirm?
If it's the .img it need to either be flashed via fastboot or putting into a PG58IMG.zip file.
If you have the "zip" file it need to be renamed to be exactly "PG58IMG.zip". I uploaded a copy some time back, I'll see if I can find the post again.
Hello
I got my HTC One S s4 a couple of days ago. It was unlocked. With the guides here I managed to root it and S-off and ass I was feeling confident, I installed Maximus HD 10 rom (I think I had android 4.0.1). I followed the instructions and I even got the error described in there.
My problem starts here:
Code:
Make sure that installation was successful and press enter to reboot device.
Device will boot in system, wait till you can see device on PC and copy ROM on internal SD card once again.
Repeat ROM installation with Aroma installer, do wipe during install.
Congratulations, you have device with fully working Android 4.2.2 and Sense 5.0
The device did boot in system and everything seems to be fine, new android and sense version, ect. I pluged it to PC, copied again the firmware.zip, went to TWRP recovery but the file isn't there. I even placed it inside a folder from root but still the file doesn't apper and that's why I can't continue witht he flashing process even though it seems that there is nothing more to do.
I could leave it like that but what if I want to try another rom some day?
In thephone I see 16 gb of storage, in windows explorer 10 gb more or less. If I mount the folders TWRP lets me, I get a device showing in windows explorer that needs to be formated and it's only 48 mb
What can I do?
thanks a lot!
Hello mate.
I second this.
I am currently having the exact same issue as described here.
I have rooted my phone, superCID, S-OFF, installed MaximusHD, flashed new firmware for MaximusHD and this is where I hit a roadblock.
It began like this:
I went to TWRP, plugged in phone, mounted it (I chose to mount Data in TWRP not SD card, as SD card could not be selected) - system was asking to format the device - I chose no, and moved over the MaximusHD rom (let's call it ROM.zip) using
Code:
adb push ROM.zip /sdcard/ROM.zip
The operation was succesful, TWRP showed the file ROM.zip in /sdcard, however, when I tried flashing it, I couldn't -> the access to SD card was blocked. I followed all the instructions in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1630459
After this, I went back to TWRP, mounted SD card (this time it was selectable) and pushed ROM.zip onto /sdcard
The operation was succesful, and yet TWRP did not show the file in /sdcard.
Note: System does not ask to format the device anymore, but it shows only 50mb of storage. TWRP also confirms 50mb (47mb, to be exact)
I repeated the process, same result.
I tried to boot into system using TWRP -> reboot -> system, the phone restarts and hangs on HTC One screen.
To try something else, I went into bootloader and locked it using
Code:
fastboot oem lock
The device restarted into system, once again went into HTC One screen but this time, after a couple of seconds began optimizing apps.
A system launched. Weird, considering firmware update supposedly wiped everything off the phone, not even mentioning all the resets and wipes I did by following the thread I posted earlier. I went through first launch steps and was now in a fully functioning MaximusHD system, the one I installed the first time.
The device connected to PC easily and now it showed full storage size, with all the folders and structures inside.
Inside I found two icons which surprised me. They looked like two 0 bytes empty partitions that could not be double clicked or deleted (upon deletion system throws an error that device might have been disconnected). I tried to move ROM.zip onto there, after it finished, instead of ROM.zip now there were three 0 bytes empty partitions. This is when it struck me - my 2 previous attempts to bring ROM.zip onto /sdcard with adb push are those two partitions that were already there. I unplugged and plugged my device back on, the partitions disappeared and ROM.zip showed up.
I went back into recovery and it still showed 50mb storage size and nothing inside SD card (nothing other than two folders, TWRP and .android_secure).
I rebooted the device into system and it hung up on the HTC One screen. I unlocked my bootloader and locked it again using
Code:
fastboot oem lock
and was able to return to system. Somehow, locking my bootloader lets my device get past the HTC One screen. However, the system started fresh again so I lost all the apps that were meanwhile installed (a file manager) and all settings. I went through the process and was back into working system. This is the moment where I am now, confused as to what to do next.
I went into my file manager which I got from Play Store again, which showed the entire folder structure. When I pressed back to go into the root, I was surprised to see that I actually wasn't in /sdcard.
Right now, the exact same folder structure seems to be located in four places on my phone:
/storage/emulated/legacy
/storage/emulated/0
one of these two were on default in the File Manager,
also found one here:
/storage/sdcard0
and also in:
/sdcard
My theory is that the file system in /sdcard gets wiped every time the phone is restarted and somehow brought back fresh onto /sdcard, but it doesn't make much sense and doesn't explain why TWRP shows completely different paths.
I also flashed TWRP to the newest version, to no result.
I fixed my own issue 5 minutes after posting this response...
I skipped the point where you have to install TWRP that is given in the Install Package in RUU mode. This was the root of all problems.
Reflash your firmware, following the instructions here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=45621060 (post 68).
What a way to waste 5 hours just because i thought I don't need TWRP because I already had it installed.
Good luck on your issue.
