I made a framework-res.apk file for my own use to include
1. battery percentage mod
2. crt off effect
It wasn't planned as the official release or something alike so I haven't tested it extensively. Again, it was just for my own use and I decided to share.
The file is based on official deodexed kj6 from RaverX3X with stock kj6 kernel so it should work for anybody who uses this ROM. It works fine on my device.
Not sure about the odexed version.
TO USE - overwrite the framework-res.apk in /system/framework/ with rootexplorer or any other file browser with root access.
I suggest to run a backup first but it's your choice
12/1/11
Adding CRT-ON animation
Same deal as with the CRT-OFF but this time we're overwriting the services.jar file in the same location inside /system/framework/
Works great. Thanks!

Now I'm running the kj1 kernel since kj6 didn't have vodoo & cmw, will this MOD not work with kj1?
Update: got it to work regardless of kernel. Thx for the work. It's awesome!
Thanks dude. This also works on SimplySimple v1.0 with StockKJ5 theme.
Dude do you think you can also do the CRT-ON screen animation?

Yup, I copied the two files to the framework folder.
I rebooted twice.
I have all animations enabled.
I am running stock kj6, so I don't don't have recovery to clean up dalvik unless there's another way.

Titanium backup can clean dalvik.
or you can try cleaning cache in the stock recovery... Are you on deodexed build?
Quick note for people who dont have CRT On Off working - If you are using SpareParts and have the transition and animation speed set to FAST, you have to change it to NORMAL. CRT ON OFF do not work with FAST speeds.

Raver's odin is odexed. Only CWM version is deodexed.

I took the ED2 ROM, deodexed and zip aligned it, then debloated it and added in a few useful things. This has most of the stuff removed that came with the Stock ROM, including TWLauncher, which has been replaced with AOSP Launcher. The ROM is rooted and also includes busybox for some useful linux tools. I've also included the Gingerbread keyboard from here as another keyboard alternative. This is not fully tested yet, so there may be a few issues. As people use it, I can add things people would like (such as mods as they become available), or remove stuff people don't want/use.

No, you will need to flash this via the CWM that he posted.

Same question as above, I just installed voodoo's kernel. Do I just boot into CWM and then install as a .zip?
This can be flashed regardless of what kernel you're on, as long as you have CWM available. You can choose to wipe cache/dalvik if you want, but it isn't necessary from my experience.
If you were on stock and had an update for My Verizon, you may need to use Titanium Backup to finish removing it as I found out. The same likely goes for any other apps that were in stock but were updated from the Market.
I'll start removing more things then as I figure out what it is they do and if they are necessary for normal use of the phone. There are some apks left that I'm not sure what they do yet, so I'm leaving them in for now.
If you keep the media hub, you should probably revert it to ED1 so the can't play on 3G "feature" is gone.

Here I present you the CF-ROOT for I9003 [XXKPH only]
You can flash this over any other CWM or over the stock FW.
Feature Set:
- Root ( don't need to use SOC or any ZIP);
- Busybox 1.17.2;
- init.d support (you can put in the folder /system/etc/init.d all the script that you want to be loaded at the startup);
- Added EXT4 support to the phone ( so you can convert the filesystem to ext4 to improve performance);
- Added "Reboot into Download Mode" from within CWM
- full working CWM Manager (backup - restore - delete backup - install apk (Thanks to Skin1980)
- flash update.zip - flash kernel - reboot to CWM);
- Tweaks Manager with various tweak ( Ram Min Free - SD Speed - I/O Scheduler - Kernel Scheduler - CPU Conservative Governor - Swappiness - Ram Script by Juwe11 - Media Stagefright)
Thanks to Skin1980 (I have used his CF-Root for XXKPE and tweaked it for XXKPH).

Brilliant!
Btw, any possible issues installing this after the rooting has been done by old CWM+SOC+reflash new normalboot.img method?

Sorry for that Skin1980. I was in a hurry to get my hands dirty on XXKPH. I have my own version of CWM, where I am doing more things like 2nd partition in External SD, EXT4 on internal and external SD, Busybox 1.19, etc.
I have a different version of CWM version created for public, as I have very different setup from the rest.
I really liked your work on CF-Root, so I thought of including that as well and also provide you necessary credit.
Also, I am in the process of porting CyanogenMod for I9003 (still a long way to go), in which I would be creating a different version of CF-Root.
I am going to remove the CF-Root portion from my version of CWM and will post this soon (Removing the current CWM version from this thread, for now).
You are correct, I could have contacted you. Sorry again for that.

just glad i downloaded that one before it got removed
I have been trying endlessly to find the cause of the bootloops when you factory reset(wipe data/cache)> I believe I have narrowed it down to either in the framework-res.apk(however I do not believe it is the battery mod causing this). Its not the reboot recovery mod either because I made a version of my theme of the stock deodexed theme with no mods, and just modded services.jar to change some colors around and it still bootlooped.
But the normal unthemed stock deodex template you can wipe data(however I believe the android keyboard fc's everytime)
I need some advice/help from some of the experienced devs out here. At first I thought it was because of compressing the .jars when modding them(for example serives.jar) however I realized that if the stock deodexed template or ROM didnt bootloop on data wipe, it couldnt be that because when deodexing you have to compress the .jar's when adding the classes.dex using 7zip or somthing.
I also took a version of my theme that has the reboot recovery mod, and the 1% battery mod(both of which I confirmed not to be causing it by process of elimination) and unzipped the .jars I had modified, and zipped them up with no compression, and it still bootlooped.
It seems like its a combination of several things. If anyone out there experienced with theming and how the framework works that can help I'm all ears because I want my ROM to wipe data on the first release to give the best possible install without them having to go back to stock to wipe data. Hoewever at the moment it just bootloops if I wipe data.
I am at a complete loss lol! It's so frustrating and confusing!
Have you been unzipping and rezipping with the latest version of apktool (1.4.2, unofficially distributed by Brut.all)? And if so, then... I may be at a loss for words too. Then again I haven't wiped data in a while, but never had any issues either...
The very act of recompiling those files might result in smaller ones (blame apktool not me)... maybe that's the reason?
Going to check that out on my BL right now.
Extra thought: Where are you wiping data from? I remember on my old Optimus, if you wiped data from the regular phone, it would crash the phone into a bootloop too. But if you did it from recovery, everything was fine.
Recovery. I never wipe from phone menu. Its somewhere in the framework Res but I don't know what it is!
Sent from my MOTWX435KT using Tapatalk
How does your phone look with the stock framework-res applied?
Is there a bare minimum of a /data structure you can flash back onto your phone to get it to worK? If so, you could make a /data-flashing update.zip instead. A little hacked, but it would still work...
Tried that. Too many permission complications!!
Sent from my MOTWX435KT using Tapatalk
Is there a way to just delete stuff until you can't delete any more, and then make a nandroid backup of that specific image, and then make the image flashable?
Or just delete all your data or something, then Nandroid it... I dunno. Opening images for editing is too much of a pain.
Stupid permissions, why can't everything be more like Windows?
If you use the latest CWM(5.0.2.3) with the blue text it defaults to making .tar backups instead of .img nandroids. But if you wanna unpack a nandroid use a tool called unyaffs.exe compiled for windows.
The new CWM can be found in a flashable zip here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1282951
And I'll attach the unyaffs.exe program. You just use it through the command prompt and change directory to where you unyaffs.exe is located at and put you system.img or data.img in there with it and call unyaffs system.img or unyaffs data.img. It will extract everything to that folder. Pretty neat its how I made the stock ROM for this phone originally!
One of these days, you devs gotta tell me where you find these tools, after I googled and googled and only came up with a Python script! (Heck, even the name "unyaffs" sounds familiar.)
Is there an easy way to throw those files back together? I mean, the structure would probably be the worst part, but from what it sounds like you can just throw a bunch of files together by practically appending to them... (Edit: from the unyaffs source page. "Now it can only extract images created by mkyaffs2image" probably answers my question.)
again, not like I know what I'm doing. But ah well .w.
Edit 2: Herp derp, this would be a little easier from Linux... I think. But I really, really don't want to put Linux on my computer.
Edit 3: I suddenly don't feel totally stupid... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=16084313&postcount=17
Try this; wipe data, flash, wipe cache, wipe dalvik, and fix permissions. I just did that testing my rom. It booted. I didn't flash back to stock. But, my dumb ass didn't include the set up wizards in my rom so I really couldn't do much. Had to restore. I always flashed with this procedure with my vibrant with no problems. Hoping it will work for y'all.

As cool as that is, I don't think that counts... hmm. Is your framework-res.apk signed? I had bootloop issues with an unsigned framework-res.apk (just pushing it over, file-explorer style), and then force-close up the wazoo when I signed it.
Ironically, I solved the problem by putting the framework-res.apk into a flashable zip and, well, flashing it.
Feels weird man. This is like deja vu or something...

Hi Guys, Here is the mod to extend your status bar to 14 buttons [ALL IN ONE]
Installation instructions:
For Stock Roms
Just download attached flashable CWM zip and install it in recovery.
I think this should work for all other Roms e.g. ZSKP3/KP6/KP7/XXKPU.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
UPDATE:
Installation instructions:
For RC7 and broodROM RC2;
1-Go to /system/framework and delete SystemUI.apk(Dont worry about FC).
2-Restart phone in Cwm and install Extended-Status-Bar-signed_2.zip.
3- Enjoy
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
EDIT: Sry for the zip not working, but NOW this one works, thanks to broodplank1337 for clearing it.
EDIT: Dont forget to mount system!!!
Check the Screen shot:-
Thanks, I'm gonna try it, it will mess up my interface for sure since I'm using ICS theme but will test it anyhow, will post a screen soon
edit: can't install it, it gives me an error:
E: Can't open /emmc/Extended-Status-Bar-Signed.zip (bad)
Installation aborted.
have you compressed the zip? Because you shouldn't
Edit2: Fixed it.. this one is working (attachement)+
edit3: it doesn't work like this, the file in system/framework is called lidroid-res.apk I don't think that will work unless the files in system/app (quickpanelsettings.apk and systemui.apk) are calling the custom name for the framework file
Please check your package I'm not gonna try renaming lidroid-res.apk framework-res.apk, since the lidroid-res.apk is only 1 mb and the framework-res.apk is 5mb
Here is a NEW update MOD for XXKQ1 14 Buttons stutus Bar.. With i9001 FlashLight.
UPDATE:
Installation instructions:
Restart phone in Cwm and install Extended-Status-Bar-XXKQ1.zip.
Enjoy

I will try it today and post another ss if it will works ...
I saw from that screenshot go launcher in background I will install it too then install the status bar and see what happens.
I`m using CraniumROM RC7 btw
EDIT:
weird ... installed but my status bar remained unchanged ... only the settings appeard in aplication menu lol
it seems that you installed everything except the new systemui.apk
because ICS theme is still there
EDIT:
i tried to apply the mod on ICS-Theme
should work.. but i did not test it .. don't have time right now
Nothing left
make CWM backup before flashing
So after a few days of the release of ICS, I've seen people complaining about the quicksettings panel which looked to me like a combination of honeycomb and ice cream sandwich. Epic Asus is epic. So today, I decided to spend some time theming it to look more like ICS on the whole. Enough said, a picture tells a thousand words.
I dunno what else are needed to be themed. As I spend more time with ICS and if I spot some Honeycomb rubbish graphics, I'll update this thread.
Compatible with any deodexed ICS Roms. Not compatible with AOSP Roms (CM9, TeamEOS etc.)
Flash this everytime when there's a major rom upgrade (Rebase etc)

For Revolver Users ONLY. From Beta 1.3 onwards, there is no need to download this framework.jar as it is included in subsequent updates.

For Revolver users, I've modded the framework.jar in /system/framework such that caching across all apps are disabled. This will reduce scrolling lags. I assure you this mod will not wipe your system, erase your data or whatsoever. Though, if it eats your cat, it's not my fault because it works well for me. However, if you're scared, make a backup of the your current framework.jar before applying this mod. For more information regarding this mod, read here.
Here's what you should do if you want this mod:
1. Download the framework.jar into your sdcard. Backup your current framework.jar[OPTIONAL]
2. Using a file manager which can mount rewrite and change permissions, copy and paste the framework.jar into /system/framework.
3. Overwrite your current framework.jar.
4. Change the permission according [permissions should be the same as the other .jar files within the folder].
5. Reboot.
6. On startup, you should see a system update, just like when you first flash an ICS Rom. Do not panic because no data will be lost.
7. Enjoy the smooth scroll mod.
8. Hit some thanks if you liked the mod.
Nice to know VRTheme still works. Did the script need to be modified or did it work out of the box?

Thanks, was going to do the smoother scrolling mod myself when I got home, now dont have to
Buttons and quick icons look soo much better too!!
I put a few hours into those galaxy nexus buttons figuring out how to make it work right.
Flashed theme and it looks good!
thank you i thought i was the only one that didnt like the stock ics quick settings
Worked like a charm. Thanks!
Tested on android Revolution D
Thanks, gonna give it a go
At first when I used ICS on TF101 I thought ASUS did a really good job and didn't really notice this theming. After flashing the new update to Revolver (included) this is a amazing theme.
Really good work
Is this supposed to be flashed using CWM?? I've tried it (using the Rogue one) and it fails with Status 0. Have tried to download again a few times, from internal and from SD, always the same. Any ideas?

Try unzipping and zipping the contents then try flashing again. If not I recommend using rogue recovery. I guessing it has got something to do with the scripting. Not too sure man. I believe all those who can flash uses rogue.

As I've said, I use Rogues CWM too, tried flashing from Internal memory and from microSD, but none work. I'll try unzipping and zipping again and report back
Please update for Asus's latest .17 update. Thanks!
I cant flash too - status 0
Tried to unzip and zip again with no success...

It will still work all it is doing is replacing png's who's locations have not changed from .10 to .17
Flashed this using Rogue CWM on ARHD and worked fine.
Can I use this on rooted stock ROM without CWM, meaning just replace the SystemUI.apk with the one here? What do I do with the odex file?
