[Q] Does USB JIG for Samsung phones work on LG Optimus 3D - LG Optimus 3D

Hello.
I own that LG phone and i would like to update it to new official gingerbread or unofficial (kdz files).
But there is no update yet available in my country over LGMobile Update software and i doubt that my phone provider will get GB update cause i am still on v10d jul-8 version and they love to limit firmware changes ...
And I am also wondering why my phone doesn't have OTA update support in Settings->About..?
And final question is: will usb jig for samsung remove binary firmware counter?
Thank you all!

First, Optimus 3d hasnt firmware counter, second, update by kdz is like official becouse it's official firmware not custom.

Ok that's great. What about running a custom rom? I just change from Samsung i9000 to LG 3D so be gentle...

i had i9000 too,so procedure of installing custom roms is the same as on i9000.install Cwm and go straight ahead to development section for superb roms, mods, kernels and many more from our great developers
look at how to install official gb rom and then custom, more in dev section.

Well, if something goes wrong, you could always wipe and start from scratch provided it still boots to CWM.
If it doesn't boot even to CWM, you could try the Recovery Flash method which will format and install a stock ROM.
If it doesn't even enter to recovery mode... well, odds are the guy in the sweatshop repairing LG phones will just throw the motherboard to the bin and put a new one without checking if you rooted it or not.

Custom rom vs att official update

I installed a 2.2 custom rom, now att sent me a txt that there is an update for my phone, should I update?, will it brick my phone?
There's 300000000 other threads about this. For the majority if your not completely stock att will tell you to update

Do not run an update while on a 2.2 custom rom. It is most likely not the froyo update and rather a 2.1 tweak. If you tried it probably would not take, if it did it would probably screw up your phone. If you really want to try the update I would do a odin flash back to stock. If you do not know what odin is you can find it in the development section

ok,thanks ....i wont update since I dont have a data plan , and I know ATT will screw me over.....btw custom 2.2 running great
Either it:
-Won't work, or
-It will work
I'll let you decide which is worse.

I wouldn't update if I were you since it isn't 2.2 yet. You'll end up just installing a custom ROM again.

Right now YOU CAN'T ROOT the updated Gingerbread from LG but i'm a sneaky FOX ..... what i did i used NVFlash (google it) than i did the manuall recovery of my froyo than root it again and than used the updated gingerbread.zip file over xda forums... and fualah!!! rooted gingerbread from the updated lg update..... sweet!!!! now if they can somehow bring back the lg camera :/
They have had it rooted for a few hours. Just flash the rooted official gb rom and reboot. It's pure stock just rooted.

I don't understand. I thought the rooted zip has the old baseband.

The zip file provided to flash through CWM is the new leak but the old baseband. The ONLY way to get the new baseband is to flash the leak using the LG Update Tool.
that's funny cause the baseband is different from the froyo and i had the lg updated GB.... it has the same baseband as the one i have know.... it still has the date on it (jul 15)

Right...at one point, you updated to GB using the LG updater right? That's why you have the updated baseband. So even after you nvflashed recovery and flashed the rooted GB rom, you kept the updated baseband.
However, if someone that did NOT update with the LG updater flashed that same rooted rom, the phone would have the old baseband.
So those of us that got the newer batch of g2x's (P999DWP) CANNOT get the new baseband by any purpose other than waiting for someone to strip it out and release it as a separate flashable file for us. Then again, prayer might work too. Unless, of course, LG adds the DWP's to the list of elible phones. But it would probably make no sense for them to do that since this was supposed to be a test-build update for a limited selection of testers that had the original P999DW models.
Xboarder has a rooted new gb leak rom
He extracted the su and busybox files and pushed them to the new gb leak

I saw that but i don't want to flash the whole ROM just for Root. My phone is working perfect the way I got it right now and just need root to debloat this thing and restore with titanium.
I would flash it over this one if at least three people confirm that gps is instant lock like the update.
When I say instant lock I mean it lol, Even inside our house.

Mine was not written anywhere on the box or the phone itself. In fact, ON the inside of my phone, underneath the battery, it says P999DW. It wasn't until I already reverted to stock, unrooted, restored stock recovery, and ran the LG software updater, that I discovered it read my phone as P999DWP.
With that being said, I had my doubts that I would be able to update anyway, because I know my phone is a newer build than many. My first g2x had a serial number starting with 104, and I know most people here have numbers starting with either 104 or 105...but my new replacement g2x that got here 2 days ago has a serial number starting with 106.
Well, I have confidence in the devs here...and I'm certain good things will come to light soon enough.
Now all we need is that sweet lg camera apk back and more fixes and we are good to go! someone try to get back the lg stock camera!!

Great news i'm also waiting on the lg camera app rather than the stock Gb one.... also the devs already started developing cooked roms i have one from eVil... two reasons why 1. the keyboard doesn't lag like the v21e orignal version and 2. i have a 32gb microsd card and i wanna save my apps on MY SD CARD not the "internal Built SD card"

Samsung Exhibit II 4G / T679 Official ROM

Hello all!
Seems a basic question and I did a search around, but didn't find a exact answer.
I have a Samsung Exhibit II 4G/T679 which came with carrier's ROM. So lots of undesired applications and some blocks (tethering, for example).
Instead of going to a modified ROM (which can be an alternative, of course), I'm wondering if there is available anywhere the official ROM release by Samsung for this model. Since there is the unlocked model from Samsung, I assume there is a official ROM from them (carrier independent).
Does anybody know where to download this official ROM?
Thanks!
If I am not mistaken, no. But we have some great Roms for this phone check them out. Trust me you don't want stock.

Thanks for your answer!
I wanted the stock mainly because some applications that I use explicitly say they don't run on "rooted or moded roms". So installing one of those customs roms would prevent me from using those applications. Maybe installing the stock one released by Samsung (on unlocked phones) the application would accept that.
Any idea or suggestion?
Seems obvious, but link was not so easy to find...
Here is the stock ROM for this model (attention: not carrier shipped, but manufactured shipped, rooted):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/Samsung_Exhibit_II_4G#Flash_Back_to_Stock
In my case it's still not the right solution since I have a carrier-shipped ROM and I would need to have this ROM back if they need to provide any service.

How is it not the right solution?
What applications are you trying to keep on stock ROM that you're convinced won't work on a custom ROM

Because my phone has the carrier-custom ROM, not the clean manufacture one.
So if I have to send the phone back to carrier, they will notice the ROM was changed. This one I couldn't find...
I'm thinking about using CWM Recovery to backup the ROM. But... then the CWM will replace original Recovery System, so it's a signal that ROM was changed too...

It's my office app. Somehow they have explicit lock on custom or rooted phones (maybe for security). I already tried to install on another moded phone and it doesn't work. Only with factory or recognized ROMS.
I don't know how they identify that... but it happens!
I have an ODIN Stock ROM for the SE2, when thats flashed it takes away root and completly restores the phone to out of the box state.
want it?
The carrier is Tmobile.

No I didnt.
Iv had it in my downloads folder foreverr and I use it alot for when I soft brick and need to use a jig.
Since the jig puts my phone into download/ODIN mode, Iv always saved that folder cause it is ODIN friendly.
Why don't you just flash to what ever you wont and not worry about it and then if you were to have to ship it back to to t-mobile just use the directions here http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/Samsung_Exhibit_II_4G and flash back to stock. Because I am sure that is what he is uploading.

[Q] Ported ICS XBSA V5.2a LG Mobile Support Tool finds an update...

i am using XBSA V5.2a and the base band is XMM6260.on LG P920. According to phone settings my model is SU760.
when i start lg mobile support tool it identifies my phone as P920 and version is V18A then it says that there is an update for my phone...
what do you think if i install this update?
Also LG PC Suite for ICS identifies my phone as SU760 and when i check for updates, it says that a new firmware is available.
should i install this update?

That update will downgrade you to the latest stock firmware in your country/provider.
Probably one of the V21 versions.

but what if i install via LG PC Suite? this pc suite for ICS then it may update ported ics files for better performance?
I don't think so, official tools will take you to latest official software.
But you can try, if you want.

don't cause if it recognises your phone as su760 it will update you with the latest firmware for su760 and that my friend is another phone... so u end up with a brick.... my opinion at least...
