Can Desire S support USB OTG?
In desire case, I see they adjust the usb cable.
But in xperia case, they don't need to adjust usb cable. Why can they do this without an external power?

I've read that is not possibile with htc, but with a samsung software!?
It is, but you need a rooted phone with USB Host function, external power source and a usb y-cabel. Use the search function someone explained it for the htc one s

Hello,
I have the TF300T (without the keyboard dock), and I want to get a USB port dongle. However I have two needs:
I want the USB port to provide enough power for a USB 2.5" hard disk. I suppose I can use a powered USB hub for this?
I would really like to be able charge the tablet when the USB dongle is on. Is this possible?
Thank you

If that USB HDD requires 2 USB (one data one power), then a powered hub is your best bet.
When the USB dongle is in, it takes the place of the charging port. You can either charge the tablet or use the dongle.
I've searched everywhere online and i'm getting conflicting results, so I was wondering if anyone who has one can confirm if the idol 3 5.5" has USB Host or On-The-Go (OTG) capabilities. Thank you very much.
Yes!
I'll confirm 100% I have used the following SUCCESSFULLY:
- 3 port OTG cable with TWO USB thumb drives plugged in, one USB3 64GB and one USB2 8GB
- 1 port OTG cable with ONE USB super nintendo controller
- 1 port OTG cable with generic USB 2.0 SDR receiver for Radio tuning (scanner capabilities confirmed)
I hope this helps!
I think every phone with kernel version 3 and up has OTG support... Correct me if I'm wrong

Mmmh software talking, I do think so. But hardware talking, it's not always the case. My current phone as kernel 3.4.67 which can theorically support OTG but hardware is not compatible, so I can't use OTG at all :/
Awesome! Thanks!
I have an OTG cable but don't know how to work with on my alcatel one idol 3, could you help me out?

Usually, phone mounts the USB storage automatically and display a pop-up window.
If not, Go to Settings > Storage > Mount USB Storage
I tried otg also, in 9 of 10 cases, phone reject usb, in one case connections was achieved, and i can copy files from usb. But, even in that case, after some time, connection brakes. Annoying. This phone definitely support otg, but something doesnt work well.
Does alcatel Idol 3 support micro sd using otg?

Considering to use a Huawei Mediapad X2 7.0 for my 2DIN car install, since the dimensions of the tablet are nearly identical to 2DIN,
Therefore I would like to know if the device supports USB OTG Host mode and charging the battery of the mediapad simultaneously using a certain Y cable?
Thanks, much appreciated if you can give it a try!

Not sure about OTG Host cum charging combination because my understanding if you use OTG Host mode very likely you plug in a USB OTG thumb drive meaning you cannot charge at the same time.
However connecting the X2 micro USB port via standard USB cable to my laptop, I noticed I could use it as an USB device and it charges at the same time albeit not as as fast as a dedicated charging.

Yes, but not OTG.
I can confirm that, on my side, using an OTG hub with a external power plug, no way to have the device charged by external power when in OTG mode.
It is OTG or Normal charge and functions via USB.
Seems Logical because the Phone is supposed to provide the power to its USB accessories in OTG. Just my HUB has a switch that provide power to those accessories instead of the phone Itself. May-I add that switching this power button on the HUB does not function until you had unplugged & replugged the Hub in the phone after switching between the two modes. I'm afraid of the survival of the Micro USB plug of my phone, on the long run, with all those plugin, unplugin actions !!!
It's possible but with anothere Device the Nexus 7 (2012/2013) with Timurs Kernel. What's the difference of this kernel to the normal kernel, so OTG with charging is working for this device, too.
Hello
I use an external screen via the USB C port (usb C/HDMI cable), it works as advertised (Samsung Dev X,...)
I would like a USB C port replicator that allows external screen + Power tablet power supply (I found one, but it no longer works for the external screen)
Do you have a model to recommend to me?
Thanks in advance
I got this one from Best Buy
