I bought a new sdcard and it works in my PC without any errors, but the second I put it in my phone and try to download navigation maps it just shows "SD card unexpectedly removed". I try the card in the PC again, even through the phone mounted USB storage in recovery and it works, without errors. Does anyone now a fix or atleast a reason for this to be happening?
Did you buy it from a reputable dealer? I'm just wondering if it's one of those fake cards. try this if you suspect that it may be. http://sosfakeflash.wordpress.com/2...standard-in-detecting-usb-counterfeit-drives/
yeah, i tested the card on my pc using using a couple of those types of tools, a actually put in 16gb of movies and could watch them on the phone and the second i started to download locations or the sd files for NFS Hot Pursuit it showed the "SD card unexpectedly...." message.

hello everyone, i just got my HTC Mogul (Sprint PPC-6800) and i love the device, except for the memory card i have is corrupt and i cant format it. any file i put on there, program, music, anything gets corrupted and wont work. I cant delete the my documents folder that is the only file on there and is what i believe is causing the corruption, does anyone know how to fix this?
Try formatting it on your pc?
Like he said, you might have to use a media card reader on the pc side to format it.
I tried that and it doesnt work on the PC, it says Windows cannot format the device. Any other way to do it?
put it in a camera? do you have an adaptor?
Might be time to go back to the store
SD Card Failure on Sprint Mogul
I'm sorry you've run into the same problem I have.. Its the micro SD card that has failed. You may be able to get a little longer use from it doing what I did but ultimately you need a new micro SD card.
I got one of the cheap chinese MP4/MP5 players that use SD cards and used an SD card reader with my micro SD card in it..
If you don't use this your PC will refuse to have anything to do with your micro SD card.
I formatted the disc with the player and then used my laptop to format it again to FAT32 at least 16 sectors. This woke the micro SD card, it still has I/O errors and it misbehaves a lot but its at last usable and its 2GB can retain 800MB. It will hold until I get a new card...
The moral is to save your backups to your PC so you can buy a new card and restore to it..
Hey all.
FIrst off I dont recommend this phone. haha, that being said...
I just bought a 16gb microsd card for it. I was able to install it and transfer a bunch of tunes over. Then when I disconnected it from the computer, it has a little sd card icon with a sprocket at the top left of the screen and says "checking for errors". As a result, I dont have access to the info on the sd card > music contacts photos etc.
Its been 12 hours or so and this status has not changed.
Can anyone shed any light on this issue? Has it "farted" or do I just have to wait...
Thanks.
Have you tryed turning the device off taking the battery and SD card out then putting it all back and turning it back on, had issues with my phone not recognizing my SD before and it worked for me, just give it a try and see.

Thanks, but tried that many times...
I did try removing the battery and card multiple times to no avail.
I even sacrificed my programs etc through a hard reset. As soon as the reset completed, I have the same notification about the sd card.
Some details...
When I first inserted the 16gb SDHC card, the phone acknowledge its presence and I formated the card in the phone. It said there was over 15gb available... all fine...
I then was able to que it up with my pc through the USB cable and transfer about 8 gbs of music to the phone... transfer when fine.
Upon removing the phonne, it started with this "preparing sd card, Checking for errors" nonsense.
I am firmly convinced that there ACTUALLY is no SDHC support on these Acer Liquid E phones. My old 2 gb card that came with the phone works just fine and is back in the phone now. My only other option is to buy a 4 gb card and see if that will word fine, as 4 gb is not considered SDHC. then step up again to a 8 gb card (SDHC) and see what happens.
Does anyone else have a SDHC card in there Acer Liquid E? Does it work?
There is also NO help from Fido or Acer to work through issues...
Really makes me want to go back to the iPhone........ grrrrrrrrr....
Make sure that you formatted it to FAT32 first of all and does the card still connect to the computer using a card reader ? Why don't you try formatting it on your liquid by going onto storage and then unmounting it then format.

Thanks... no go though. At wits end...
Thanks for your attention!
When formatting in the phone, it doesnt allow you the choice to format specifically in FAT32 or other. I can only assume it is formatting in the proper system.
As for mounting and unmounting (what I feel this phone has been literally doing to me for the 6 months i've had it.lol)... as the sd card was stuck in this "checking for errors" sequence I had no access to mount or unmount the card or reformat again. These options were simply greyed out and not accessable.
I have not placed it into a card reader to reformat through my PC. I will try this step next and see what happens. I will have to find a card reader, or perhaps plug it into my camera as the card came with an sd adapter... see if that route will work.
Regardless. extremely user non-friendly phone here in the Acer Liquid E.
I am having a problem finding thins in "Files" and "Astro" on Tmo GS2. This is a general ? that could happen to me or anyone on any phone, I assume, so I put here. I hope its ok
I just upgraded to a 32gb sd card class 4. I was told it was good. Its a
Sandisk. I was going for a class 10, but people said it was not only not necessary, but it would slow down occasionally ... but be fabulous with games and video
regardless of that, i then looked for a class 6 Only found no names and someone said its better to have a Sandisk at a lower class than one class higher from a no name'
Well I don't know if that has to do with my problem. I can't find things. I search, nothing. I use Astro, now this is weird. Nothing. I plug into the computer, it is listing the phone as TWO separate drives. THis has never happened to me in the past and never heard it mentioned
I am sure it is nothing wrong, but a settingn somewhere and I can get all the files combined
also, I am assuming all of those file explorers on the phone cannot look into the hard drive of the phone? Is that correct, no other excuse? And this other "drive" I am speaking of, one can only assume it is the hard drive
Well in any case, if anyone could straighten me out, help me, etc.. I'd be most grateful
happy Halloween All
Eric
I have the same problem on my eeepad transformer
I bought a 32 GB microSD card from Trascendent. When I nstall apps that are supposed to be installed on the external SD card it does not do that. It goes to the internal SD card. When I sync it with my PC it shows both devices. The SD card is completely empty except for a folder that reads LostDir. How can I get the external SD working?
Any pros or mods, please correct me if needed.
The GS2 does it differently keeping them separately
You can choose on your phone which apps to store on phone or sd card. You can go to settings/apps/ and select move to sd card etc.
some, however will not go there no matter whatt
when you go to usb mode on the puter, you will see two drives show up
One is SD CARD - this is actually your PHONE
The OTHER is labeled EXT. SD CARD (for external) - This is the actual inserted sd card
On the SD Card, you will see in its contents in the computer window the external sd folder within the sd card
...even tho, on the far left (windows 7 and others) you will see the two drives listed separately
That is the best I can do. I understand it enough that it works. I may even understand it better than that but just not able to explain it
Enjoy
The phone suddenly no longer reads SD card, nor the internal memory. Settings> Storage displays all of the memory as Unavailable.
It all started yesterday when I took out the SD card. When I returned the card and switched the phone on, the problem started.
Computer and tablet normally read the card, so the SD is not faulty. I tried to insert another SD card in my phone, I doesn't read it as well although that SD card is also working normally in my tablet.
So, the main issue is that all of the memory from the device is not readable.
Is there some kind of general memory chip or smthng that can just collapse?
Computer does not recognize the phone, the phone notifies that the mass storage is connected but the computer shows nothing.
Have you restart your phone? Restarting the phone might solve your problem.
Always remember to unmount SD card from phone setting/storage.
I restarted it few times since yesterday to see if the card is properly inserted, I also regularly unmounted before taking it out.
So I unmounted, but the problem is that it doesn't want to mount now when it's back inside.
I also wrote that it's not just SD card, the phone doesn't show the internal memory as well.
Can anyone tell me if there is maybe some general memory chip that's dead or could it be something else?
I think you should take your phone to service center in your area. I''ve never heard problem like this before.
I have a class 10 SDHC microsd card from samsung in my galaxy s7. EVERY time I reboot, the card is shown as corrupted. I checked it with my card reader on my PC and not a single error was found.
Note: I noticed that when my device is even the slightest bit warm, this happens during reboot; however, if I turn off my device and let it cool under an air conditioner and then boot it on with the card, it's more likely to detect the microSD card and work as normal.
Anyone face any similar issue?

Either the SD Card is faulty, or you have a defective device... I am using an SD card and never faced such issues.
I have exactly the same problem as you do. Whenever I reboot my phone or unmount the SD-card, the card becomes corrupted. Wondering if buying a new SD-card might solve the problem. Any suggestions?

Have you tried reformatting the microSD card?
Yes, multiple times.
