I attempted to use this ROM: [4.2.2][OFFICIAL] LiquidSmooth v2.3 - d2vzw|d2usc - 05|04|13
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2148261
Summary:
The android phone process crashed whenever I would try to make a phone call.
The Wifi Tether did not work. It would fail to start the Access Point (AP).
Specifics:
com.android.phone process kept crashing while making calls. It would ring, crash, then disconnect the call.
Wifi tether would not work with the Wifi Tether TrevE Mod - WifiTether-TrevE_Mod_11_22_2012_driverReload2
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1988735
My wifi tether settings were:
Galaxy S3 - Netd-ndc with driver reload
-Device-Profile: Leave this on auto (default)
-Netdndc Max Client Cmd: Required for GS3ish devices. If not enabled you will likely get an AP but cannot connect.
-MSS clamping: on (default)
-Routing fix: on (default)
The wifi tether application would fail to start the Access Point (AP). I was indeed using SuperSU which I had to install manually since LiquidSmooth comes with SuperUser by default.
I recently updated my modem and rpm to:
Baseband version: I535VRMBM1
This modem update was done after checking to see if the Wifi Tether would work but before I had tested the phone calling function.
If there is anymore information that would be useful let me know and I will update.
Thanks everyone!
Sorry for not posting in the relevant subforum, but I am in the newbie prison. Please release me if you can. Thx.
I updated my hardware to this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=969411
now wireless is broken ? ?
Build number now says: 'imx51_Utopia_xaumod_0.12'
Printed manual says: Android 2.2 MID, Model FR-809 with Freescale A8 (Mx515)
Kernel Version: 2.6.31-01012-g4f92f83-dirty [email protected] #40
Model number: imx51_bbg
Wi-Fi - Turn on
'Turning on ...' - works, and green tickbox switches to ON
then 'Scanning ...' appears, and sometimes "Unable to scan for networks"
then WiFi switches itself off after less than a minute.
And advanced ... MAC address says: Unavailable
Is this problem "Unable to scan for networks" after upgrad known, and easy to fix?
Is there something wrong with the Wifi support of this
"XAUMOD firmware" http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=969411
what to do?
Secondly, could I also upgrade that hardware to android 2.3 ? How?
thx a million!
just testing ...
... am I still in newbie prison?
I just flashed the latest release of CyanogenMod onto my Nexus 6. However, I now cannot connect to my school's wifi. I think the most important part is that it says to set EAP method to PEAP and Phase 2 Authentication to*MSCHAPv2. Is this not compatible with CyanogenMod?
Hello!
As per the rules in this section i have tried searching for other USB tethering issues and I found this thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/idol-3/help/usb-tethering-t3352376
His solution was to use easy tether, this can't work for me as I am tethering to a Router. I have tried clockwork-mod, PDA Net and easy tether, and they are not compatable with my ASUS RT-AC56R.
Here is some information about my Idol 3:
TWRP: LUX 3.0.2-r5 for Alcatel idol 3
Device Model: 6045O
CyanogenMod version: 12.1-20160715-UNOFFICIAL-idol3
Android Version: 5.1.1
Kernel Version:
3.10.49-gac18c2b-dirty

Build Number: cm_idol3-userdebug 5.1.1 LMY49j73aa3e58e3 test-keys
Partitions and Sizes ( from TWRP ):
Aboot(1MB), Boot(32MB), Recovery(32MB), System(771MB), Data(4386MB), Cache(0MB)
Modem(50MB), Modemst1(3MB), Fsg(1MB), Persist (0MB), Misc(1MB), Splash(16MB)
Hyp(0MB), Tz(0MB), Rpm(0MB), Sbl1(0MB)
Here is what works:
Bluetooth Tethering
WiFi HotSpot
Easy Tether to my PC
PDANet to my PC ( actually bought the app it works well in all other cases )
ClockWork-Mod tether to PC
What does not work is:
Native USB Tethering
SD card totally broke not even showing in TWRP
Specifically when i plug the phone into the router with MTP or PTP not charge only and attempt to toggle USB tethering it says "USB connected, Check to Tether" I tap the switch and it disappears for a second and then shows up again, not enabling USB tethering.
I don't know if i need to upgrade to a different ROM or if i need to re-flash the modem but any information, suggestions or thoughts on what I can do at this point will be greatly appreciated
ROM Problem. You'll have to upgrade.
Hey,
In the latest Wi-Fi encryption standard WPA3(SAE) there is an option for "Password Identifiers" [search for "sae_password_id" in LINK] which is a label that indicates to the AP which password is being used, the required code do exist in the WPA Supplicant in the android tree [Android source code] but the issue that I can't see any option to enter this value when I am connecting to a network with WPA3 enabled using the Wi-Fi Manager[Based on Android 11 on Galaxy Tab s7 tablet].
So my question is where I can find the required field that can be used to fill this value in the Wi-Fi manager ?
