[Q] internet pass through not as fast as pc

is it normal for the pc internet to be around 24mbps and the phone to be around 3 mbps under internet pass through?
also under Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Network and Sharing Center
it lists my normal pc connection which has internet access and then it lists "unidentified network" with "no internet access" is that normal?
i tried asking this in another internet passthrough question but i think it was overlooked. i also tried looking for detailed walkthroughs on line but i was unsuccessful. any help will be appreciated. thanks in advance
I just checked it out with 2 different phones and my desktop (which is wired to modem) and my laptop (wireless). And got about the same numbers so I would say ... Yes that is the norm.
why so low though? shouldn't it be close to the pc internet since its using the pc internet? some times it doesn't even get to 3mbps and stays around 0.60
why is the internet passthrough so slow compared to pc internet?

Probably a hardware limitation.
I'm guessing its the USB cable.

Also its even slower when I enable wifi from a internet pass through phone
has anyone noticed when u use the pass through feature u cant go to the market and download anything? i noticed it wouldnt load the market and wouldnt let me download nothing so i thought this feature was pointless then
also i dont have the issues with slow download speed with the internet pass-through thing. my internet is 15mbps and my phone gets 9mbps using pass-through

[SHARE][FREE][2.3+] [App] Fast File Transfer - The WiFi Direct For The Rest Of Us

Hi, i would like to share this thread for Fast File Transfer - The WiFi Direct For The Rest Of Us
I did not develop this application so, all the credit goes to the original developer. I found this app so liked to share it here because i read a lot on wifi-direct discussion on cm9 by willy thread so thought i can share it here.
if its duplicate in this forum [Galaxy Fit apps and theme section] then mod can freely delete it.
Fast File Transfer is a free Android app that uses WiFi tethering for file transfers between two devices.
This technology allows for speeds of more than 32 Mbit/s, which means e.g. 1 Gigabyte in under 5 minutes.
The app has received an update recently and now allows to display QR codes for easier setting up the receiving device.
Features:
Up to 20x speed of bluetooth
The receiver is device-independent
No need for a common Wi-Fi connection
No data usage for file transfers
The receiver does not have to have the app installed
Send single or multiple files
Easy to setup:
Use QR codes to allow the receiver to easily connect to the wifi and open the receiving URL

Tethering help :(

Hey guys,
Here's what, my phone manages to establish a connection with my computer just fine, as it is able to with other devices. But apparently, it does NOT share my 3g while it's at it. I guess it's a common problem?
MB865, Vodafone 3g...
Oh and bluetooth tethering does not work either(similarly)

The only way that I know of to tether without root is to pay your carrier a fee (most probably a monthly fee) to enable it for you.
There are apps in the playstore that are supposed to work, but I haven't tried any so I can't say how well they work.

NUMA is my main ROM and I haven't had any problems tethering with it. It should be enabled by default, though. Are you using the native tethering app?

WiFi or USB? I've only used WiFi, but not in a while so I'll double check it when I get home in a couple of hours. As far as USB tethering goes, I may be wrong but I think you'd have to have something installed on your computer that supports it. A friend of mine uses PDAnet on both his phone and PC to USB tether his desktop but I don't know if something like that is required.
