Hi to all
I use my DHD only for:
- browsing internet
- shot a photos
- videos... many videos
I use now MIUI official dev but video quality and photo tools are very very poor.
I would like to know if there is any ROM that is really optimized (and tweaked) for better videos, photos, as possible.
Obviously I find an exceptional battery saving.
Any suggest?
Thansk friends
Wrong section.
Anyway: fight your way through all ROMs. I also did this to find my ROM.
Nobody can really say which ROM to use, it's just your personal opinion.
It depends on what you like (do you like Sense? ...). You should find it by yourself.

Sorry for wrong section... but I looking for sense or no-sense rom but with very optimal audiovideo section
Welcome to XDA. As stated please search and post in correct sections. My advice would to try the roms that catch your eye and make up your own mind. No one will be able to tell you what works best for you and your needs.

All,
as the title says, if you can make a youtube video review of your latest ROM that would be really helpful for other users. I would suggest 5 min video to the max and showing the features specific to the ROM. Please show us
1) how speed the graphic performance in home screen, app drawer, scrolling, browsing, gaming etc,.
2) Additional features the ROM might have like CRT, overscroll, Batt indicator etc,.
3) Anything more that make sense to mention..
Its just an idea. If most of you think this is not a good idea, i will let mod to close the thread.
Thanks.
I am going to collect all the reviews submitted in the first post.

Not to flame, but this isn't development. This should be in the general section.

Point taken. Since its ROM review, i thought it would be more appropriate to have it in this section. I will let mod decide on this.
That's great idea for a tread... Hope will see dev reviewing their roms
Hi my name is DloBrown and Im A nightly addict!!!
i think it should be here so people could review a rom before they dl. Mod make this a sticky one video for each rom not everybody uploading a vid of the same rom infact this should be for devs only to upload thier vid of they rom
Or we do something like an audition where everyone who wants to, can submit a review and then the person with the best review does the reviews for every rom. It makes the reviews less biased and its better to have 1 viewpoint to avoid confusion.

Any chance we can have a separation (or sub forum) to distinguish between Sense based ROMs and true AOSP ROMs? The true development of AOSP ROMs is what this community excels in, and I think there should be an easy way to find those ROMs without digging. Additionally, people who like Sense will never consider an AOSP ROM so giving them there own sub forum to play in might also make sense.
PLEASE TAKE THE POLL DIRECTLY ABOVE THIS POST!!

That would be awesome and very useful but I think it won't be possible... Cause if we can have it all can! So the forum will need a lot of editing in all phones' threads
Why double post?

My first post didnt have a poll. So be sure to vote if you like the idea!
it ain't gonna happen.
Same as someone asked to split the forum between ICS and GB....that certainly ain't happening so I can't see it being split just to separate Sense and AOSP roms...
Just read more

Too much duplication & extra resources...won't happen from stuff I've read in the XDA General discussion sections.
Proper named threads are good enough for me
Yes and no. Don't forget that there is a whole bunch of forums, and sub forming everything would get complicated.
Properly tagging thread titles should be more than enough.
Are there any aosp roms for the sensation which the users flash? That when cm9 and senseless roms are not counted in.
I think there are 2 issue:
- We don't have a specific rule for create a thread's title for a rom.
- developers put to many feeling words on their rom's title. That's make each rom's name is too long.
I like all the rom threads have their name somewhat like this : [ Android version] -[ MIUI/AOS or Sense version ]-[ rom name] - [rom version] - [ last updated's date ]
If possible that would be great, but if not I think the prefix of the ROM threads must be clear i.e. [SENSE] & [AOSP]

Well then we have to talk to devs and mods about it
there are about 4 distinct non sense based ROMs, many Sense based ones, and many de-Sensed ones. This almost suggests 3 sub-forums, except that (1) many devs hope to do ROMs of more than one type & this would force them to track multiple threads for their active work and (2) we as knowledgeable users need to be able to read enough to tell things apart.

One of two ways.
Either force developers to properly name the thread and keep the "Stable, FAST, Solid, etc.) comments to the forum itself and out of the title, or separate forums.
[ROM/Kernal/HELP] [Date] [OS, ICS or GB, etc.] [Revision Number]
Easy...but it must be followed. No need for "Stable, Fast, etc.".
That is for the users to decide, if you ask me.

Second that. Second that soooo much.
This ASCII stuff and useless non-infos are really, really annoying.
Someone playing pipes (╚══╬) in his threadtitle make me think of a 12year old kid, not a serious developer i trust with my phone stability or data
YES! I am always weeding thru the Sense Roms.

Errm actually it is the ROM makers choice in what they put as the thread title and frankly if a user told me to remove what I have as my thread title I would tell them to do one (probably in slightly harsher language )
I doubt many chefs would like the users to dictate what must / must not be included in the thread.
Just my 2 cents

Your opinion, being a Dev...you're certainly entitled to it.
However, since users are your target....and there's more of us, it would just be nicer/easier to sort through the BS..sorry...
Dear All,
Excuse me if I start a new thread here but it is my understanding that certain questions are not to be made in the development section.
I know much has to do with personal taste, your own experience and research, but I am coming from an HTC Aria, and I am looking for a custom ROM for my Inspire.
There are many ROM's posted that I know and appreciate have a lot of hard work and dedication from developers and unconditional testers and followers, as for instance the specific ROM thread for BinDroid's ROM itself alone has close to 900 posts, so please don't be offended by my questions, as for what I have seen and managed to read it seems to be that this might be what I am looking for:
Is this a stable ROM for daily use?
Are there any trade-off's / sacrifices (camara, video, flash, sound, buttons, gps, etc? that don't work or have limitations?)
I can understand that for many long time users and followers there can be "known issues" , but please understand that for newcommers these are not, so your kind comments will be most welcome.
I thank you all for your support and look forward to your answers and any recomendations that you may have.
Cheers!
I would say this Rom is stable for a daily use. For awhile I was running this Rom for little over 2 months. It's very clean. Its one of the handful of roms out here that works form start to finish. The support from the inspire to the desire hd threads for this is very quick if you had any issue that you may come across. I couldn't remember the last time I.had any major issue when using this. Battery life is great if you do a lot of Pandora browsing uploads like to fb etc. Works for me with my inspire. So would differently say flash this sucker.. its worth it.
If I remember right the only thing I did was a different kernel and a uv script lite other then that bad ass.

Let's first start with, welcome! Secondly, while you're correct dev threads are typically (depends on the dev team or individual developing the ROM) are reserved for development, there are Q&A's for each respective ROM that you should use to ask questions regarding a specific ROM. If everyone created a separate thread about each question they had for each ROM they use you can see how chaotic the forums would get.
The best way to figure out what "issues" a ROM has is to read some of the recent posts in both the Q&A and Dev section, you'll see there what most people are dealing with. Most ROMs here are pretty stable and I would say fine for daily use (ICS has some minor bugs due to source issues but from what I'm seeing there are a couple of somewhat stable ICS builds).Remember this is a development site, so some independent searching and reading is expected on your part.
As for Bindroid, I used it way back when they firsant started with sense 3.5 and loved it. Danny and the team are real nice guys and do great work. I would say that ROM is more then capable of being a stable, daily driver. Just remember, only you can decide what you can live with and c live without. All ROMs come with trade offs, some users don't mind them and don't even consider them trade offs or issues which is why you need to decide for yourself. Goood luck man!
Looking for recommendations on a Non-Sense ROM for the Inspire. Prefer Gingerbread over ICS.
Looking for battery life and functionality.
Cheers.
.
Wonder how long it will take to have this thread closed?
Bad question. There is no such thing as BEST. All ROM choices are dependant on many factors but especially your own preferences. What I think is best is not what the next person thinks is best. It's all opinion and we have a ton of opinions already. Another thread is not needed.

Download and try them out. That is the only way to find the 'best' because each user has different experiences. Rule of thumb, the less the phone does, the better the battery will be.
Ok, let me re-phrase then. Can anyone point me to some Non-sense Gingerbread ROMS.
I have found ICS and MIUI Non-sense, but not many others. The ones I have found have too many visual mods etc. Looking for a stock (ish) gingerbread.

You will not find many GB roms as most have moved over to ICS. There is CM and a few others.
As stated above there is no best as each rom will run differently on every device.

This is my first nexus 5 coming from a g2 .. I see tons of Roms to choose from but for the sake of taking days to try them all and read thru every changelog ...who has a suggestion for the most stable and customizable ROM by popular demand so far .. ?Theee go to ROM that most are stickn with..
Something as good as or custom as deviant development does with there twiz Roms over on the Samsung side
Best ROM threads are against the rules, as stated in the sticky at the top of this section. Everyone has different needs, and while one ROM may satisfy someone else's, it may not serve your purposes.
Try a few out and see which one works best for you. If you're looking for the most popular ones just take a look at the dev threads with many views/comments. Also lots can be learnt by reading the op of ROM threads to see what features they have to offer.
Sent from my HTC Desire using xda app-developers app
Highly recommend all of them by our great XDA Developers! Happy Flashing!!
If your looking for the most popular ROM you can check the post counts. By no means does that mean it's the "Best".
