Yes work on the Arrive crack that puppy.
Do i need to be full interop unlocked to flash this rom? Or can I use that chevron wp7 unlocker to flash this?
Also why was the Arrive stuff moved to legacy devices is the phone that old already lol?
I got mine like 2 months ago and i really like it alot. I own my own business and this phone is everything i could have ever wanted and than some....
edit: Just seent he posts above me so im guessing nogo for the arrive... bummer... well Thanks for all you guys do I will definitely keep checking back here for updates.
at a loss - but standing in awe
Hey guys,
first and foremost: hail to the kings (here especially DFT and Cotulla amongst all the other eager beavers - keep up your excellent work. All of us could never hit the thank buttons hard enough!!!)
I´ve been a true disciple of this forum since windows mobile. I was really trying hard to follow the development of windows phone from day one. BUT because I was afraid of losing my chevron and touchxplorer capabilities I never updated to nodo (still on 7004) until Cotulla managed to do what I (and everybody else) was longing for. But instead of feeling happy about having the opportunity to finally flash any rom (back and forth) I like (just like in good old days of windows mobile), I feel absolutely unsure about the possible outcomes:
1. Is it safe to update from 7004 to mango 7740 without nodo in between? (this bootloader thing and ID change from version 5.xxx coupled with my own inability to come to terms with both of them drive me crazy) Everything I was trying to understand was partly in vain because I actually have difficulties interpreting the semi-brick explanations from the cotulla thread ( I apologise in advance for my stupidity) which seem to work for those of us who wanted (as far as I have understood that all) to update officially from beta versions (nodo & mango) or who wanted to keep their chevron.
2. Is the bootloader update relevant for hspl/rspl-ed phones? Isn´t it just irrelevant whether I´m trying to flash any kind of rom with the hspl by my side?
3. Why is returning to old roms only possible for certain versions (the ansar thread is so detailed and yet soooo confusing )
4. I was wishing for the dft rom soooo badly and now I´m afraid of applying it to my phone
(just in case it´s needed:
HSPL and:
OS Version 7.0.7004.0
Firmware revision # 2250.10.12203.207 (!)
Hardware rev. #: 0002
Radio software: 5.63.09.13_3a_22.36.50.15U
Radio hardware: A.102.0.D4
Bootloader: 1.22.2250.0
Chip SOC: 2.2.5.0)
A HELPING HAND WOULD BE APPRECIATED (search function didn´t work out for me either)
I feel like a noob although I´ve been following the development so carefully
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1322973 Dinchy´s information matches mine - the question is now - does this also work for the DFT Rom? I expect so - anyone able to confirm this? TIA !!!!
#### problems solved by myself #### thank you for your attention
works fine, (this rom is with tethering!)

Yeah I would really like a rom with tethering support, pretty sure Sprint will never release that function to us.
Hell, what I would really like is a GSM/CDMA worldphone device like the Touch Pro 2 was. I travel oversees from time to time, and having a worldphone is very useful.

I noticed that as well. However money motivates and I'm sure based on what I seen in October that alot of time has gone into this. I think a small paycheck would him get it wrapped up.
As poor as Iam I'd gladly give a $10 donation for a tethering rom and the ability to flash it.

There is no OFFICIAL 6.1 rom. Just test and cooked roms.
oh ok then so why are microsoft advertising this as a release when its an up and coming
it diffenatley says 6.1 has arrived
I think Microsoft are done with the rom but not HTC or the operators.
No official ROM with WM6.1 is released as of this moment.
It depends on your OEM (Orange I guess) whether you will get an official WM6.1 update.
HTC has promised they will release a new ROM based on WM6.1 (and it will include something of a driver or stuff...). But it is intended for original unbranded HTC devices. It will be released later (this month?).
If you would really want WM6.1, the best option is to flash a cooked ROM. Most recent ones are WM6.1 based.
Don't look at Microsoft for ROM upgrades, that's not their duty.
does that mean they wont be letting it go from there website until htc has started releasing it, what about the uk operaters
jayjay8585 said:

Correct. MS will NOT release a WM 6.1 ROM for anyone to download and install. Only the phone vendors (HTC, Orange, AT&T) release such ROMS.
The release of WM6.1 by Microsoft was a Release-To-Manufacturer (RTM) event. Ofcourse Microsoft puts this information on their site. It isn't really their intention of teasing you (I presume at least).
I takes some time for the OEMs to finalize a ROM with WM6.1. That's why there is a time interval between the MS announcement and the actual release.
What about UK operators? No idea...
cool so does anyone have the date of the release are is it speculation up until now, all of the websites i am reading say that htc will be releasing the rom mid may
No one really knows. If we did, everyone would have been really happy. HTC had promised a while ago they would be releasing a fix for the graphics problem somewhere near the end of March. It was never released.
Although I have all confidence in HTC and the sites reporting the impending ROM release, we'll never know the exact release date until the ROM is released.
If it's really such a big deal for you, start flashing!
well it does but my major issue is
a) i dont kno how to do it
b) will over write all my data
c) will it take away all my presets and settings
d) will invalidate my warranty
e) i thort microsoft were trying to take all the roms down
and last nite i seen a youtube clip of a person with a windows mobile 6.1 rom on a tytn II is this american
He was probably using a custom ROM...
Regarding your issues:
a) There is really enough info on this site which clearly explanes how to do it. It should be no problem really.
b) It will indeed reset all your settings and data. Some programs are designed to back up some of your data. Pim Backup is an example which backs up your PIM data.
c) see b)
d) It does, but it can be reverted. There is a thread regarding the issue.
e) Than enjoy it while you still can...
like someone said, there are leaked roms on this site, they're not official, but over here, that's plenty official enough for us
most of your questions can be answered by reading the first sticky in the forum, and/or the wiki, which i advise you to do so. once you are done with that, you will understand this rom upgrading process a lot more
imo cooked roms by chefs here at xda r so much better than oem roms so i don't even know why u would want the oem ..
does mean the eventual official rom will delete all the stuff too
im just pissed off coz with the programs ive got running ive got the best setup ive had
i used freestyl but there was too many bugs so now i use ifonz and s2u2
ive got all my cabs backed up tho which is good
my poroblems with my micro sd are worst
bought a 6gb micro sdhc off amazon, which only showed up as 1.69 gb after researching i got theat pnanasonic formatter thingy and then it worked fine, then it just stopped working. ive got a claim in with amazon to get the money back
still dont know wether it was a fake or not
Make no mistake, upgrading any ROM will completly reset your device.
If you would ever start flashing, there are tools which allow automated installations of CABs. In that way, you can get your device up and running in a very short period of time.
Tools that come to mind ar UC (user customization) and the tools provided by XDA-member Bengalih.
Better luck next time with your microSDHC card...
i just hope it get resolved
does anyone kno the telltale signs of a fake micro sdhc. apart from the fact that it ceases to work after a while. it came in the origional packet

if it works once you probably don't have a fake, you may need to reformat the sdhc, also a lot of older roms have issues with sdhc. On your original note, jump in man the cooked roms are great. Google xda pim backup, download pim backup and backup your stuff (or just use activesync), Use Olipro to safeguard your device, and then flash a cooked rom, I recomend Dutty's April 29, read the wiki before you flash, your phone will become so much more useful, give it a try.

That is correct, the HTC branded devices have different firmware to the o2 branded devices. You can obtain that from the HTC website.

Orbit 2 WM6.1 ROM
Loaded it today!
A couple of nice tweaks but I still feel the os needs a major revamp which will hopefully come with WM7.0.
I'm not a big stylus user and a couple of things really bug me, especially the silly little 'x' to close windows in the top right of the screen.
Whenever I'm in the Comms Manager and want to close the thing I seem to keep turning on 'airplane mode' rather than hitting the 'x' button because they're so close to each other!
I still think the device is the best out there though.
just wondering if anyone else has found this problem at som points my orbit will freeze and then start reacting like 10 seconds later.
This is the only problem i have yet to find/annoy me with the rom so far so quite happy, even more happy by the speed increase over the original rom
Hi, i downloaded the rom update, from O2 was wondering if gps and tomtom work fine still, and also with igo 8, i dont wanna flash it and find my gps wont work, thanks peeps.
I have updated to 6.1 and all appears OK, in fact I havn't noticed any major diffirence. For info I have both TomTom and CoPilot working OK.
I am no expert on this ROM upgrading lark, but it took me hours to get my Orbit back to its previous state with the installation and configuration of various apps.
Do those brave guys who are constantly changing their ROMS have to go through hours of re-configuration each time or is there an easy way??
A
is that with your internal gps, i have not got a clue myself about this stuff, you dont unplug anything while its doing it do you.
Battery life seems much improved. Also, the QuickGPS util works very well and a lock can be had in seconds rather than minutes.
One funny - my Direct Push email would not work correctly after the initial upgrade. I could download all my content but the device refused to stay in sync requiring a send/receive to empty the Outbox. No amount of deleting/recreating the Exchange partnership helped. In the end I chose "Clear Storage" and did it all again from scratch. That did the trick....
From my other thread in the sub forum...
Hello!
I'm trying to upgrade my orbit 2 from wm6 to 6.1 using the official patch on the 02 website. When I enter in my serial number I get the download link with some instructions.
One such instruction is...
"Please note that if you already have CoPilot satellite navigation software on your Xda, read this installation manual (links to PDF) before upgrading to Windows Mobile 6.1"
The PDF talks about upgrading from wm5 to wm6 with co pilot 6 installed. Now im upgrading from 6 to 6.1 with copilot 7 installed
Do I still need to follow the guide? or can I just install the upgrade without touching the copilot 7?
I dont want to lose the use of the co pilot software by not deactivating it prior to the upgrade.
I tried calling o2 but they were useless.
Cheers
just reactivate it as you did the first time round @orbit2user123z
Windows 6.1 for O2 Xda Orbit 2 - and the features are?
Now this upgrade is available what do we O2 users get in terms of features? The HTC version on their site details some minot tweaks but not enough to want me to install the upgrade, can anyone give us a definite list of features in O2's new ROM?
I've got it all working now - cheers Madheadwil
Before i found this thread i thought my Orbit 2 was faulty, i could not get any roms to install onto my device but now YESSS!, thank you

That would be really helpful. I don't want to waste a couple of evenings reinstalling and reconfiguring all my applications if 6.1 doesn't do a lot more than 6.0 (or the things which have changed are things which I wouldn't use). Anybody know?
I didn't see any news about this here so... It seams like HTC has released an update for the AT&T Fuze. According to the HTC Support site, here's what's included:
Microsoft's Windows Mobile Adaptation Kit Update (AKU) 1.4.6
Slide to Answer
Push To Talk Button is now re-assignable
FM Radio Application
Enhanced MS Voice Command
Call waiting indicator is now audible when using Speakerphone
HTC Music player supports Album art/info
Improved TouchFlo3D (TF3D) and User Interface performance
A-GPS Update: Speeds up the time it takes the GPS to get a fix on your location
Quick GPS is still recommended for the optimal operation of GPS based applications and services
The update can be found here.
But... what does it take to actually download it? I have a 3-month old Fuze in the US, but when I plug in my S/N - it says that it isn't for my Fuze?

Same here. I just got through sending HTC an email about it. My fuze is only about 2 weeks old.
Same Problem -

The phone is less than a year old and it makes me want to reach for an iPhone.

Oh well, hopefully later today
This is the response I got from HTC.
"Hello Shannon, Thank you for your inquiry about the HTC Fuze. We would be happy to assist you with that information. However, we are experiencing an issue in the download of the update for the Fuze. We are aware of the issues and do apologize for the inconveniences. We are working on getting the issue resolved at the current time. Feel free to contact us again if you have any further questions. HTC Technical Support http://www.htc.com http://www.htcwiki.com."
Can't download Official ROM either
I have a FUZE I purchased in February, same issue with not accepting my S/N. I know I will be a candidate for the new ROM so hopefully, the issue as described above from HTC support will prove to be accurate and we can download in a relative short time. I am really excited to try this new Official ROM as I am not comfortable flashing the ROM's that are available otherwise. I just don't have enough technical background to feel like I can do it without the real risk of bricking my FUZE.
HTC Fuze support site is down...
For now, they are probably fixing the issue with the S/N error because the support sub-site for the HTC Fuze is down.

It could have some updated drivers and it looks like it has a new radio in it. That's the main benefit of getting this.
I wouldn't downgrade to 6.1, even if it has "new stuff"....won't take the cooks very long to extract any new stuff, and add it to the 6.5 roms

I agree, that's what I meant by my post...once someone gets their hands on it and can extract the goodies
Well, this ROM is appreciated regardless
I think custom ROMs are sweet, and I am a big fan of 6.5. But, I personally kinda like official releases, despite 6.1 and the AT&T crapware. I'll probably end up installing a 6.5 rom anyway if AT&T doesn't make one, or if AT&T's really sucks. Besides, I am overloaded with MS betas on my PC and phone.
Does anyone know when it will be downloadable again? The link seems to be down again or is there another place to find it?
If this allows the MS voice command to say the name of the caller, then I'm all for this update.
Hello *********************,
I can understand how important it is to know if you will have a Windows Mobile 6.5 update available for your Ozone on October 6, 2009. I will be more than happy to assist you with the information that you are requesting. Unfortunately, there will not be a Windows Mobile 6.5 upgrade for the Ozone on October 6, 2009. Currently, I have no information indicating that Verizon has requested a ROM update be made for the Ozone. If Verizon requests that HTC make a ROM upgrade for the Ozone, HTC will begin developing a Windows Mobile 6.5 upgrade. Verizon will work in cooperation with us to develop the ROM upgrade for the Ozone. This process can take a couple of weeks to several months.
Thank you so much for contacting HTC. If you have any other questions, feel free to contact us again. You can find additional support at our user forum www.htcwiki.com. There is also a customer satisfaction survey for you to take if you are interested.

I still don't feel that the Sprint Snap will be getting an offical upgrade, but if Microsoft says so... haha i don't trust them anymore than i can toss my own mother.
well, I guess there are prerelease ozone roms floating out there that Verizon is making, but thus far nobody was willing to share them - considering that Verizon could fire the person. I hope that somehow one will be leaked either on torrents or something, as my ozone has been bricked for a month now and the USB port on my q9m just broke. So I have no way of charging it
I work for VZW.
There WILL be an official 6.5 ROM for it.
There is a very buggy pre-realease available internally now.
I have used it (no - I can't send it to you - don't ask) and switched back to 6.1
That is how buggy it was.
No ETA on a new build.
I check my internal sources everyday for updates.
Just as frustrated as all of you.

thanks brent
Anyway you can provide the stock flashable 6.1 rom for the ozone?
Brent,
Can you tell VZW not to put so much crapware in their ROMs?

Thanks for the heads up. I look forward to the new rom.
I'm happy Verizon is willing to update the pre-6.5 released phones at all.
Be well Brent.
Can anyone verify this HTC Captain aka snap, maple, ozone rom?

I think Ozone users are looking for this: RUU_Chief_W_WM65_VZW_WWE_2.16.605.15, that's the official WM6.5 upgrade for the Ozone, I will upload it.

happen to have the RUU_Commander for the Sprint SNAP S511?
Report on the VZW ROM above...
Hey Folks,
Coming over to Win Mobile from the Blackberry side and just picked up my Ozone a couple of weeks ago. I always had luck flashing my Berries with leaked ROMS so I figured I'd give it a whirl here too
Keep in mind that I am not the power user that most of you guys are!
The flashing process itself was pretty quick and painless. No bumps along the way there - I just followed the instructions of the installer.
Speed is pretty good so far although it seems to be a hair more laggy than 6.1. It has not been detrimental to using it so far though.
Stability seems really good. I think that VZW is coming down to the final version of the 6.5 upgrade and this release shows it.
Program compatibility - Internet Explorer's viewability is messed up and has been useless to me since the upgrade. I have been using Skyfire instead for my default browser. (BTW, IE does have an Active X toggle in its menus - I have tried it on and off but didn't see a difference). Also, Calendar 2 from SBSH has problems with repeating dates on 6.5 for some reason. I have seen no other issues beyond those 2 programs.
Changes? Honesty, I don't see much so far...It says 3g instead of EVDO on the network indiactor icon, there is a basic customize homescreen program included, there is a MS App store download icon included.
Bottom line: I'll continue to use this ROM (well I am kind of forced too since I don't have a stock 6.1 to revert to LOL) until the officall release (and again, I think they are getting pretty close). However, those of you with 6.1 don't feel like you are missing out on anything but NOT trying this one out...I really don't see that many improvements at all. I am kind of underwhelmed actually.
Hope this is a help!
Been waiting for that above VZW Rom For 2 Months!!!
I can verify that the above Rom upgraded to WM6.5 for Verizon. Fixed my rainbow colored Ozone with bad SPL flash!!! YAY! Please sticky this thread as the Ozone finally has a signed ROM!!!!

Thanks, very cool. Going to flash as soon as my battery charges ;-)
Hate to be picky, but can you upload it to another site (mediafire, megaupload, etc.) as rapidshare is "overwhelmed" and I can't get the file. If not, no biggy.
Just upgraded to this rom. Been having an issue where the phone likes to go from programs to the home screen a lot. Happens across all programs. An example is loading up skyfire once the loading bar gets to about 100% the phone goes to the home screen. The programs don't fail or anything, but it's a really annoying problem. Anyone else having this issue?
So, after selling my x7501, about 3 years ago, I have had the HTC Touch Pro (unlocked), HTC Touch Pro 2 (Tmobile US), & now the HTC HD2 (Tmobile US) - don't get me wrong, they were all great devices in their on right, but I was much, much happier & productive with my x7501. & with those devices I still have 2 carry a netbook - not 2 mention all the freezing & resetting i am dealing with with my HD2 - such a headache! in order 2 get back to my "happy place" I am in the process of ordering an x7510!
Question: Can someone tell me what's the maximum size memory card it supports??
Double post
it depends what rom you use (my one has the latest drivers/build ), 16gb card works. (haven't tried 32gb)
Thank you!! I'm sorry for the double post i hit the back browser by mistake & couldn't figure out how to delete one - but thank you for replying, I appreciate it!
I notice in your signature line you have WM6.5, is it easy to upgrade from 6.1?

You can't 'upgrade', its like a 'full instalation' , it does a hard rest and so you lose your data. Also you need to change your stock SPL to a hard SPL found in the sticky.
i guess i will have 2 try it when i receive my phone, before i load anything.
i hope the process is painless, i've never did a full install before.
on that thread will it give me information & warnings on what to look out for? will i loose any valuable programs thats already installed on the phone?
You can always revert if you don't like it, no problem.
Hey, chellie, good to see an 'old' new X7510 user.
It's very simple to change your ROM.
First of all, read this thread about Hard-SPL: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=441684
After that, just select the ROM that you want. We have few 'chefs' here. So there are few options, but all of them are making good ROMs.
The new one is from Vico100.
Unfortunately, 6.5.x does not support RealVGA (if you don't know about this app, search it here on xda. It is a real new life for X7510 to make it as a wonderful netbook).

Thank you hiroshi.rio.
I owned a x7501 previously, but I used it stock.
With purchasing the x7510, I may just do the same, I am way to nervous to dry to change or update the ROMs - I have no experience in doing so, and I don't wanna mess anything up
I appreciate the information and I will look at the recommended forum and take in as much info as I can.
So updating the system or changing it to RealVGA makes it more like a netbook? That sounds interesting, I have to look into that.
