Expected average data speed? - Samsung Infuse 4G

So I was wondering speeds should I be expecting with the infuse in an average ATT HSDPA network
I am averaging 1.4 -1.7 Mbps, with highest 2.52 Mbps
Normal?
Sorry if this in another thread, I didn't see one.

I does depend on where you are and what is avail. I asked the very same question the other day and really no one had much to say except try different modems. I live in a small town in Northern CA. and average 1.6mbps but have seen 4.00 a cpl times. I am on my 5th modem to test...some are horrible for me but others say it is fantastic. Theere is a super thread for infuse...look there...they are all posted in CWM flashable zips.

The best settings for 3G speed....

I'm only getting 1.5M down speeds and I'm sure thats not right. I'm in a 3G area.
1.5 is decent. No settings you can really change...
1.5 is good for 3g.. i'm not sure what you're confused abo ut?
OH, OK thanks. Me=(Rookie)
That's pretty good for Verizon 3G, depressing once you have done a speed test in a 4G area.
how do you do a speed test ? *NOOB*
1.5 mb on 3g is pretty good the most i gotten on verizon 3g is 2.2 mb. I may be slow to some industry but at least I get 3g everywhere they have coverage

Chicagoland TB owners: what are your 4G speeds?

I'm averaging about 6 mbps down and 4 mbps up. Speedtest is using the Aurora server.
Is this considered "slow" for 4G?
I am working up in Deerfield today, DL of 13.07 and upload of 7.6 mbs. I live in south suburbs and average between 8 & 12 up, and 6-8 down.
I'm in the far north suburbs and I average 22 down and close to 6 up

WTF? 22 down is nuts. I need to move up there. I'm in Wheaton.
my speed varies alot depending on where I am at. I have seen my up speed as high as 40(yes that was an upload speed) and down 25. But I tend to average around 5 down and 2-3 up
I used to get around 15-22 down and 5-10 up every time. Now I average about 5-6 down and 3-4 up. :/ I'm in mchenry area. I miss those super fast speeds.

Schaumburg.
Used to be 20/12. Now I'm @ 5/4. Went to the VZW store and ran speedtest side by side with their demo. Demo unit was pulling 3 to 4x the speeds that my phone was just inches away.

Yes, they directed me to their tech who had no idea. His personal bolt was running at the same speeds mine was.

I tried the Chicago server as well and got 9 mbps down and about 6 mbps up.
I'm visiting my girlfriend in the city this weekend. I'm curious what my speeds will be like there.
When I ran my test, both phones were attached to Aurora's test server (because I know someone's going to ask) and I ran the test about 15 times to make sure.

I have my suspicions about the speedtest app, even after the recent fix. Those getting slower speeds, open a browser with UserAgent switching, switch to desktop UA, and go to the speedtest.net website. I always get much higher results that way, which seem to be consistent with the results I get when tethered to a laptop. I'm usually pulling between 10-20 down, 1-4 up on the Northside. It's a very welcome upgrade from WiMax.
btw those thinking they got 40 Mbps upstream a while back, that was the speedtest app giving bogus results. Many of us thought we got those speeds, but nobody really did. The developer of the app was the first to say so.
The chicago server tests much faster than the aurora server.

TB 3g speeds

I hear TB has a different version of 3g. What is different? Is it the voice and data at the same time version?
What are the speeds?
It is voice/data, not sure the speeds.

Speed Tests here in NY were showing anywhere from 400k-600k down and about 100k up on 3G.
It's not actually a different 3g, but a revision of the current 3g that allows for faster handoffs from 3g to 4g. Speeds should be the same as any other 3g phone.

Even if you don't live in a 4G area you still get voice and data at the same time.

On Vacation in Orlando.. usually get around 20 mbps in Chicago but I must say I'm disappointed with Orlando 4g.. no 4g at the hotel and walking around Orlando it seems to drop in and out which never happens in Chicago.. on stock radio and cm7

I am in San Diego I am getting 736 kbps down and 2740 kbps. This is very slow too.
1:17 am here in LA and only 3g seems to be working, it's not very fast either but it's better than nothing :/

My record is 21.77 MBPS, maybe 20 miles from my current location, I've experienced some really good service in San Francisco, but didn't run a speed test (two days ago).
Currently running Bamf Stripped 1.8 with Stock Radio.

It usually not this bad here. I usually get between 20 and 30 mbps Here. Just been Really slow for me and even when I do get 4g it usually hangs with the upload arrow lit up and I have to switch to 3g to get any data at all.
And FWIW, my buddy with a charge just did a speed test and was getting 16 down/4up at work while I am stuck on crappy 3g signal.

LTE Issues in NYC (6/27/11)

Anyone having DL speed issues in NYC today? Speeds were awesome this morning, 20mb dl and 6mb up. Now I can't get over 1 mb in dl but uploads are still good. I'm running the 402 radio and a co-worker is running stock and his speeds are effected as well.
If so, this would be my first LTE semi-outage. I'm new to Verizon and was wondering if these things are frequent.
Same in Boston, upload speeds are fine but can't get over 1Mbps down. I've heard they're supposedly working on the networks right now. I don't use 4G all the time, this is the first I've personally seen speeds be this slow.

I've been on 3g all day today in the Chicago area, I figured they were doing some kind of network tweaking, been having great battery life though!

Hmm, well atleast I'm not alone. On the phone with Verizon, they show no issues in their system. I'm rooted and my co-worker isn't, same speed issue though.

I'm in Chicago and 4g has been fine for me the entire day, 16 mbps down and 4mbps up right now. (jefferson park is my current location)
Seems to be the network as a whole here in NYC. Another co-worker has the droid incredible (Stock unrooted) on 3G he normally pulls 4-5mb and can't get over .40 currently. Glad to know I don't have to flash different radios, etc.

I work in the basement of an office in the suburbs where 4g is spotty so constant 3g has been great on battery life

yea it was perfectly fine at work last night, was watching my shows on youtube and flash sites since my job hates me with the killing of flash and most websites access
Been on the 3G network the last 3 days here in Atlanta. Today 1X only. Called Verizon they are currently experiencing issues in my area. Also said Please allow a couple of days to regain full speeds. I recently updated roms to BAMF 1.8 Remix. Had good 4G for a couple of days befor this so Im pretty sure its not the ROM.
I've been on campus all day using wifi, but I did notice that it kept showing 3G when I moved between repeaters. NJ right across the Hudson.
