Guys,
My phone randomly reboots sometimes and I can't seem to pin down why.
What are the possible methods of root causing, and how do I turn on those system debug logs?
Thanks

My nexus s keeps freezing. I have factory reset from a recovery boot, formatted cache and SD. I'm at 2.3.3 and have not rooted.
It will not freeze when it is plugged in so adb debug session doesn't tell me anything.
I have tried alogcat with it set to 15 mins but it usually won't save anything before the phone freezes.
I am not using a custom launcher but it did freeze when I was using launcher pro.
When it freezes the clock stops and I can wake the device up but the screen is non responsive and I cannot unlock it. After the screen is turned off I cannot wake it up again.
Sometimes there is a error triangle but I am unable to see what the error is.
Ideas?

Hello,
Today is my 14th day with the device and this device seems to be hot rebooting itself. Its not a complete reboot but a hot reboot that take 1/3rd the time to start up. Attached is the Alogcat. Anyone have any ideas? Should I swap the device out?
There is no reason for a reboot. I am not running any applications at time of reboot. And it happens randomly.
I didn't see anything in the logcat showing what the problem was. It looked like alogcat didn't pull everything, or maybe something got lost when it hot booted. Could you try to get a logcat via adb if it happens again?
Code:
adb logcat > logcat.txt
Run the above and wait a little bit (10-15 sec) and then press ctrl+c to stop as it will just keep outputting the log to the file.
now i notice that only 3 apps are showing in my downloads in the market and i have around 20 downloaded applications. what can cause this?
do you use any app2sd+ technique (script, application, ...) ?
this happened to me in one ROM it was app2sd+, specially when i install/uninstall any app
or if i mount the sdcard as drive.
i do not all apps are installed on the phone internal memory.
after installing a new app all my apps showed back up in the market.

I have been having ringtone errors recently, after device wakeup, sometimes during device sleep; but most often at wakeup the ringtone will sound off without any notification present, nor a caller trying to connect. It started after I engaged the pattern lock, but it must be caused by something else because after I turned off the lock screen and did a restart it still has the error. Anyone else having the same issue? Any ideas on a fix?
well, I've been working on this and so far I have found it is related to the use of the alarm server but the only fix is a temp fix. I set the phone to vibration and then turn back on the ring setting and that works for a day. I am still working to find a more permanent fix. please feel free to post any ringtone issues here maybe they are related and everyone can help with fixes here.
Ok I got it worked out. I had to flash from my nand backup and reinstall all my apps. The trouble came from titanium backup. It shouldn't be used to reinstall app data. If just the app it's ok, but app plus data will make the ringtone go flakey
I have been using titanium backup for app and data .No issues here mate.
May be you are trying to restore system settings across ROM's

Nope, I'm using my stock Rom it's just rooted. I have stopped using TB. However I think it may have been only one or two apps causing the trouble. I think it was Facebook and Catfiz.

Once in awhile if the battery feels a little hot, this mode pops up and says entering CDA in 20 secs. And after that the only thing i can do is enter emergency calls or turn off phone. Luckily i hit a few apps this time so it wouldn't have that happen for now... but any advice on what to do?

I've had mine do this once or twice after Maps crashes or some other background service gets stuck. You could try and find the offending app and kill it or just reboot the phone.
For several days now I've been having this problem appear in different apps. First, it happened on the Facebook app, then on an app called Goal, and most recently on the Textra (SMS Alternative). What basically happens is when I press on the back button (be it the capacitive button on the bottom of the screen or the button in the app that appears on top), the screen just refreshes. I'm not talking about a refresh like on an internet browser, but more like it redraws the screen really quickly. I basically get stuck in a specific screen. What's worse is that even if I do somehow get out of the screen, the next time I come back to the app (say I switched apps for a minute), I will be back in that same screen.
No matter what I do, it's almost impossible to get rid of the screen. I tried clearing the running apps, and even if I start it over again it will go back to that same screen. The only thing that has so far worked has been either clearing data for the app, which can be troublesome especially if it's an app that requires some sort of a setup, I end up having to do that all over again. Or in some cases, I reboot the system.
I have recently installed a memory booster software, and this only occurred to me know that I'm writing this message. I will uninstall it to see that was what was causing the problem, but if it isn't, does anyone have any idea what it couuld be?
I'm running NOVA Prime 3.0.2 on the Ultra MAXX.
Have you booted into Safe Mode to see whether this same behavior occurs?

How do I go about doing that? I'm not rooted.
This can be done on stock unrooted. Power off, but long press "Power off" to see the option to boot into safe mode.
