damn no wifi? :/ how stable is it?

Wow this is awesome im so gonna try this on my mothers G1 in the next build.
I love how I have the galaxy S 4G and we barely have any DEVS and yet here the G1 stills alive ,hurray to the first Android phone
If this help(Ed) you plz say THANKS

crazy sonnova...
you made it.

Incredible...

I can't believe my G1 will see the daylight with ICS before my DHD. Epic work there

Any way this can be ported over to the magic? I would absolutely love for this to be out

Is the mtd included?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App

I can't believe this has actually been done. I didn't think our dear old G1 could handle it. Well, according to the vid it does seem laggy, but who cares! It's ICS on G1 =D
Awesome work to the dev and thanks for posting. I'm going to go install it and report back =)

When I heared that Google stated that ICS should be executable on every GB device, I new that someone would do the port for the G1 ... Congrats!
I am quite sure that we will see quite soon a version which will perform more or less like GB on our G1, probably not with all features of ICS.

Good job! Didn't think this would happen.

HW acceleration ?

I should buy one of these just for the kicks., 100€ for a new unit on ebay, aaw, anyone willing to sell used unit in good condition for me?

Just installed it! All I gotta say is WOW!
Wasn't expecting it to actually turn on lol, but it actually works pretty nice. Not lagging as much as I thought it would. The rotation problem isn't that big of a deal for me personally as I usually use my phone in landscape anyway, but I can see how it might be annoying for others.
It scrolls quite smooth through the menus; in the mtd partition i set the cache to 3mb instead of 2..not sure if that the reason for the extra smoothness..???
Quick Question..If I were to increase the cache size, would it run smoother?
Anyway, I'm really impressed with the overall ROM. I still haven't tested out any apps, the phone, messaging...or any of the other things people would use regularly. Will mess around with it a bit more...or maybe a lot =P
I'm so excited haha.
Thanks again for this amazing release!!!

Good job man!

Cool, now I want to see No-frills run on it ;-)

hey all, we were working on this for a bit but XxDaLoWeSt1xX beat us to it...so congrats on BOOT!!! not much atm but with my patch its enough to fix everything else...all we need is signal now since its a gsm port to cdma....THIS IS NOT A DAILY DRIVER...this is DEV. the patch i made while i was working on it adds new kernel,32mb dalvic heap, usb, hardware&lighting buttons, and stops random reboot...now we just need the signal and were good...flash the patch over top of the rom. THEN begin to help if you are a DEV. thx
(once again i take no credit for boot, i tried and failed many times i just made the patch below)

Can't wait to try this out.
This is pretty awesome, i always had prefer this over miui.
Much nicer and cleaner, test it out and its deft a nice rom, good job on porting it, hopefully someone get it workin together soon.

dang! first wimax on cm-6 now this???? beautiful rom, can wait to take it for a spin
Is it possible to "kang" a few things from the miui rom to get this up and goin properly?
I'm surprised (pleasantly ) that this ROM is being developed for the EVO... it is much more professional than MIUI. Unfortunately, I never use ROMs that don't have everything working (so pretty much none of them I use... LOL), but having this in development is exciting
Looks pretty sweet! Is wifi working, saw a screen shot with the wifi signal
so is anyone working on this now to get it to a daily driver or is this up for devs to come and look at?

Well, its been ported to semi-high end phones. Expect absolutely horrible performance from the sdk port to htc g1..

well if you guys can get a new boot.img build with a ramdisk from one of the working honeycomb ports and a zimage from a working 32b kernel we can get something going
well honeycomb has been ported to the evo 4g, but its barely functional.

Honeycomb's primary target is tablets
why is this thread cluttering up G1 dev?
yes mainly for tablets. but some member like bypass portet it to the nexus one and it works... so if someone know how we get it boot PM me or yoshi
bypass said we have to edit the boot.img and it will work but yet it only sitting in the htc logo.

well, 2.3 was released not so long ago
it does seem clear that honeycomb has a different target to gingerbread,
the new features of honeycomb are mostly to take advantage of a larger screen size, and more processing power,
sure maybe it could be dumbed down for g1, but what would be the point?
I love my g1, but its time to move on soon, there comes a point when getting something to run on it for the sake of getting it to run becomes futile , by not moving on to better hardware we are ultimately missing out on the great features that an Android OS can give us when running on up to date hardware
I can get Linux to run on a Pentium3 , but why would I want to do that when I can run it on a quadcore intel ?
I'm moving on to the Evo mid-march, but why not try and make the most out of it?

so far the only bug i have ran across is...of course...the sound lol. on my end of call there is quite a bit of static, but the people i have talked to say they can hear me fine. just installed the audio fix, seems like it has helped some but static is still there.

the sound fix? i use r1 that was in his first post, i didnt know there was r2 i have never had the need for it with the rooted stock rom hehe.
update...the sound is actually somewhat acceptable now, but not as good as the stock rom. this rom is actually pretty cool i am enjoying playing with it, but i will be flashing back my rooted stock rom before work tomorrow.

r2 was taken down, last I heard. It caused the mic to quit working.
Just flashed it, in call sound wasn't to horrible for me, so far it runs pretty smooth.
edit: To be honest the speaker is actually louder and clearer after flashing this, I haven't flashed the sound fix yet.
So far its pretty nice. I'm sure it will be fully developed in a week.
Thanks for the ROM, looked great, however the performance was 30% slower then a stock Inspire.

yes, i noticed that too. remember this is just a test rom leaked from HTC, hopefully future builds will be at least as fast as the stock inspire rom.

So far its good. Sound is not to bad but, its not stock.
So is it just wishful thinking to ask whether this has the cool lock animation that the stock gingerbread or CM7 has. like the tube tv shutting off animation? Common sense tells me no but I thought I would ask.

Hey, wifi hotspot works. Nice.

So many ROM's.... Which one?

After work tonight I'm gonna dive in and unlock my HOX bootloader and dive in to some new ROM's. I see there are now a multitude of choices here, and I am wondering if I could get some feedback regarding which ones are viewed best. Fast, clean, best battery life, customizability... so many criteria I'm a bit confused. Any guidance here would be greatly appreciated.
This should be in Q&A but try clean ROM it's the best in my opinion.....now prepare to be flamed...

The second I clicked "post" I realized I put this in the wrong forum. I am SO sorry. I don't know how to move it. I hope the Mods move it for me. I don't want to be flamed! I'm really sorry.
FLAME!
i'm sure the mods will move this at some point.
personally, i like clean rom DE, sense is pretty, but it's such a huge resource hog still, aosp ICS is so much lighter on ram, even in its faux aosp iteration on our phones.

Duuude, you're sooo stooopid.
Just kidding.
Its not that hard. If you intend to flash the "typical" way using CWM, and not mess with desktop installers then that excludes Magnolia and Sirius (these were released before the bootloader was unlocked) . At least until they are updated to flash via CWM.
There is a stock deodexed 1.85 ROM, and a 1.88 ROM. But as the names tell you, they are just stock ROMs, just deodexed. Good if you want a base to do other mods (which often require deodex) but that's about it. And 1.88 is based on an Asian ROM, and it breaks AT&T LTE.
What you have left is only 3 custom ROMs. CleanROM DE has an AOSP look, if you are looking for that. If you like Sense, pick CleanROM or Nocturnal. CleanROM is somewhat close to stock, but with performance tweaks and other mods, and de-bloated. Nocturnal looks to have lots of customization options when you flash thanks to AROMA. I haven't personally tried Nocturnal. But I've used ROMs on a previous phone that utilize AROMA, and its very slick.
If you want to see the current ROMs listed in an organized fashion, have a look at my index thread (shameless self promotion):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1671237
That's all there is to it, at least for now. Hopefully we'll have a lot more to choose from soon! That's one first world problem I would like to have . . .
Can't go wrong with cleanrom, I've been using his roms on a few phones, I love it.

For me I came to the HOX from my GNex so my assumption was I was going to want to get closer to AOSP / CM9 as soon as possible.
I was surprised to really enjoy a few different tweaks to Sense that HTC has done like the lock screen shortcuts which I use constantly.
For me I have been sticking with CleanROM since the 2.0 version. It has been very very stable and the little tweaks available by default are really everything I want.
I'm really enjoying CleanROM DE. Smooth and ASOP elements are sexy.

Its almost like T-mobiles Jump and Verizon Edge program but existing customers whose contract is a year in can take advantage of the upgrade program too, you just have to switch your plan to one of there new my way plans (which is free and could save you money). I'll be paying an extra 26$ a month for the S4.
