What rom is better to use between CyanogenMod 7 for the HTC Desire S :: V7.1.0 (9 Oct 2011) or the nightly build of Cyanogenmod?

Stable vs Experimental. You choose.
the stable one is better because it's more stable.
The key's in the name, stable.
I mean you could go with nightly, but they are more prone to get the (fixable) bugs occurring, whilst the stable build(s) are the ones which have the most bug fixes. Nightlies do have the advantage of having new features built in, though.

CM-10 stable has been released on Nov 15. Why are there still nightly roms coming out these days? Shouldn't they work on cm-10.1 now?
Because there's always room for improvements, no software is perfect and somebody would stick to 4.1 instead of pushing his/her device too much with 4.2

It could also be that these updates are leading into the 10.1 builds .... and also there is always something that needs getting fixed

Because stable != final. Misconception a lot of people seem to have.
Don't you hate the waiting? Watching The AOKP Merged Changelog and waiting for your device to be updated? A cool feature, a fix for an error you have? Well I do!
So I decided to build my own nightlies.
To see what changes have been made, go to the Official AOKP Changelog. The builds will incorporate all changes up to the time of the build. I plan (spoken: will try) on building these every time there is a big change for the N7 or every 4 or 5 days... maybe more often if I can get some scripts going. If the team doesn't add any changes then obviously I won't build.
All MY ROMS Have:
CM Trebuchet
CMFileManager
Chronus (cLock)
Swipe to Switch (Phones only)
GooManager
NovaLauncher
AdFree
DashClock
AS ALWAYS USE AT YOUR OWN RISK. I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE IF YOU DAMAGE YOUR DEVICE.
That being said, I use these on my device so...
ROM IS NOW AVAILABLE VIA THE GOO MANAGER APP!!
Clean Installation
MAKE A NANDROID
wipe data/factory reset in recovery
flash ROM
flash Gapps (20130301)
reboot
It is always a good idea to have a Full Nandroid saved in case something goes wrong. That said I generally keep a full Nandroid (updated about once a week) and prior to flashing a nightly I make a data only Nandroid, replacing the previous data only Nandroid I made. So I do this:
Boot to recovery
Make a Data only NANDROID
wipe data/factory reset in recovery
flash ROM
flash Gapps (20130301)
flash System Sounds
flash Franco's Latest Kernel or Metallice's Latest M-Kernel
Restore Data only Nandroid
reboot
Then everything is still set up and I'm done!

The pub build was a test build.. doesn't have the extras (CMFileManager, Chronus or dashclock), a new cherry pick is currently uploading... still trying to perfect pub. Cheers

These are unofficial AOKP builds. Please do not post in official AOKP threads with bugs or negative experiences possibly specific to these builds.
I've compiled AOKP using Steve Spear's Project Unicorn Butter (PUB) optimizations for the following devices:
HTC One (GSM) - m7ul
Nexus 4 - mako
Nexus 10 - manta
Galaxy Nexus GSM - maguro
Galaxy Nexus CDMA - toro
I own and test the first four devices to ensure the builds are functional prior to uploading. Verizon Galaxy Nexus is completely untested, but there is no reason I can think of that it would not work if the maguro build does.
These builds contain all the same features as mainline AOKP, but with compiler, ARM architecture, and additional optimizations offered by PUB.
I will continue to sync and build new versions whenever there are major AOKP updates, or they release a new milestone or stable build.
The installation instructions are straightforward:
1. Download build for your device
2. Download latest gapps here: http://goo.im/gapps/gapps-jb-20130301-signed.zip
3. Install both using TWRP or CWR (ROM, then GAPPS)
4. Wipe cache and dalvik (if coming from AOKP) / Factory Reset (if from another ROM)
5. Toggle your swagger on

And of course, the entire AOKP team for their hard work and innovation.
Let's use this thread to discuss these PUB builds.

No need to wipe data, just cache and dalvik. You should be able to switch back and forth between mainline and PUB builds without wiping any user data.

I love my Samsung Galaxy S3 (GT-I9300) but I have found
a real phone for me, Google Nexus 4 (LG-E960), So awesome!
Any reason why I don't see this in the nexus 10 goomanager? I love my OTA's
Edit: nvm, I found it, it just doesn't show up in compatible roms, and I have to go to your device section to see it
Edit2: AWESOME!! This is my first AOKP and I don't think I'll ever go back
One thing I would like is an option to add a reboot to recovery in the power menu, currently there isn't one
I am totally confused about the cyanogenmod 9.1 builds. The thread has not been updated for a long. 9 builds are there on the first page, 10-12 are somewhere in the posts. There are more builds (don't know where are they, eg build 18 by derefas).
So why is the thread not updating?
Where are the builds 10-18?
I think it's ok to post here in ,Q/A section.

build 18 is in another forum but i think its released as another build in xda .
In xda , its only upto build 13 , build 11 or 9 is the most stable build .
CM9 build 12 / 13 are nothing different apart from the fact they cm9 build 11 + kernel 3.0.16..

Anyone??????
Depends on what you want. The snapshot build has been tested and confirmed to be somewhat stable, while the nightlies are completely untested automatic builds that contain all code that has been submitted to the git.
If you want the latest and greatest, and are willing to deal with possible bugs then go with the nightly.
If you value stability and dont care for the latest commits incorporated in the rom, go with the snapshot.
Patience is the key young padowan.
Flash Nightly. It is proven to be much better than Milestone, and plus it includes more features. It is really stable and is definately daily driver worthy if you do not use bluetooth often (some people report bluetooth problems).
Hit that thanks button tho
