So im using Sense-O-Maniac rom which includes BEATS. I understand it works with Music app but is there any way to make it work with Google Music app or any other Music applications? (such as pandora)
Thanks in advanced, sorry if this has been asked before :x
Volume+ > Beats Audio (IMHO)
I tend to stream my music more than play local files and was searching for an alternative as well. I found a post (can't even remember which forum now... sorry) that recommended the app Volume+. I tried it out and was much happier with its features. You get a full DSP along with volume boosting. The best part (for me at least) is that you set these tweaks per output method. So you can have different settings for the headphones (called headset in the app), phone speaker, and bluetooth speakers.

I use the paid version so that I can boost the voulume past +6 ;-}

Can someone tell me why in PowerAmp there is a 'Folders' button and 'Library' button.
I'm pretty confused by the interface and the app itself and how to use the folders/library and which is for what and how it should be used.
All my songs I put on the phone appear in the 'Folders' menu, but none of those songs appear in the 'Library' which really seems to be more of a sensible place for them to appear because the Library has all songs, artists, playlists etc and seems to be the normal area for the app to store its music.
I have no idea how to get the music in there which is where I want it.
When I am playing a song it shows the artist and title and below it a folder path location? But why? It's like a path of where it is on the phone's SD card and the path of where it was on the computer. I don't need this information in the player view.
Also, I have to have my volume on max to hear anything decently despite being told PowerAmp helps the issue of the low media volume with the default audio player. (Sennheiser CX870s). Anyone know why/how to get the volume working more 'normally'? (Desire HD)
Any tips are appreciated.
Any other good music player app suggestions are appreciated.
Never encountered this with the default music player (where the audio is not loud enough).
I use the full version of Power Amp (no difference from trial) and it works great for me because I find the stock music player sorely lacking, leaving a lot to be desired.
You could try messing with the equalizer, I don't have my phone on my person at the moment so my advice isn't as solid as I'd like...
Have you tried another music player such as DoubleTwist?
(look up on market place; i can't post links yet )
I use a pair of $50 Sony MDR EX85LP earbuds, they're great for the price and on my Droid X they are plenty loud for my tastes, could it possibly be the earbuds or specific piece of music you are listening to?
If what I mentioned doesn't help my last piece of advice would be to try and find some sort of digital amp that would amplify your music, or an actual pocket amp.
Sorry I forgot to say the volume issues is regarding the HTC Desire HD.
Thanks mithikx I'll check out DoubleTwist.
Anyone else who can answer my OP questions, that would be great
PowerAMP has both features for, well, convenience. A lot of people who're really into their music like to organise it themselves, with a folder structure of their choosing - eg. they might have it separated by genres, or by what mood the music reminds them of, or what place they like to play the music in. The 'Folders' tab gives you the same actual folder structure as is on the SD card, I find it quite handy myself, it makes a lot more sense to me because I can specify the structure any way I choose, much easier than making playlists.
The library, on the other hand, is just like PowerAMP tells you when you first tab to it - it's the default Android media library, and is managed by Android, not PowerAMP. It's the traditional media player structure, and sounds like that's what works best for you. If files aren't showing up in the library, you need to get the default Sense media player (Assuming you're on a stock DHD build) to scan that music, because in theory it shouldn't be showing up in the Sense player if it's not in the PowerAMP library. Try restarting the phone, unmounting/remounting the SD card, or downloading a widget that lets you trigger a media scan.
As for the volume, have you tried boosting the 'pre-amp' in the PowerAMP equalizer? The only other media player I'd recommend would be Winamp, don't like DoubleTwist myself.
Hope this helps.
Hi
I really do like powerAmp a lot. Specially the folder option, since I can play the music in the exactly order I put in the memory without needing to create a playlist. I tried the trial version an I was about to buy it , but then I found the SRS enhancement option on the default HTC Desire HD player and I really like how the music sounds with that option.
Does somebody know if this feature is or would be available on a future version of poweramp? Are these SRS enhancement and the other option Dolby mobile just digital equialization settings that maybe can be reproduce on the poweramp amplifier, or there is something more that is done by hardware or only possible to be done by HTC?

I don't see it happening honestly. SRS Labs licenses their technologies, which would make PowerAMP more expensive than it already is. You can probably mess around with the EQ to make the sound similar to SRS I bet.
Anyone know a good app to use for audio equalizing? I'm getting a pair of q460's to use with my tablet and I read it could do with some equalizing.
If you're just looking for an equalizer for music, several music apps include a built-in equalizer, one example being PowerAMP. If you want a system-wide equalizer, there's a free app called Equalizer in the Market.
Both PowerAMP and Equalizer work fine on the Transformer.
I hope that poweramp adds some notification bar controls for honeycomb like the stock Google music app. Not necessary though as my headphones have the controls on one side.
Did you try Volume+ app in below link

EQ + VR + overall volume boost
I am running Android Revolution HD 3.6.7 and I was wondering if it's possible to get Beats Audio working whilst listening to Spotify.
I dont see any Beats Audio notification when playing music so I assume that it's not working. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Many thanks.
I would recommend Volume+ from Android Market here.
I allows you to configure volumn, EQ, Bass Boost, Virtual Room, etc... on:
Headphones
Speaker
BlueTooth
...and this works for any app!

I have mixed reviews from Galaxy Note users about my free Speaker Boost app (source code is here). The app is supposed to boost media volume (in the usual way, by using the Equalizer API). Most reviewers say it doesn't work, but one says it works.
I'd like to get to the bottom of this. To that end, I'm posting here. If anybody wants to try it (heeding all the warnings; if you use Speaker Boost at too loud a setting, you can bust a speaker--three or four reviews, for other devices, testify to this; my feeling is that it's safer for voice than music), I would appreciate reports.
If it works for some but not all people, maybe we can try to figure out what the differences are. If it works for nobody, I have another idea how to get it working, but I'll need help from users.
Working for me, Criskelo v8 & Speedmod Kernel 3-6 just incase it matters.
Is there anybody it doesn't work for?
It does not work on the Stock Music Player since it has its own equalizer presets but works on other players on ICS and I assume it will do the same on Gingerbread. The increase in sound is not that loud but this little boost is definitely nice.
Most sound boosting apps do not work on the stock music player. You should probably mention it on the description to avoid getting bad reviews.

Hey, you're right. On my Epic 4G Touch with 2.3.6, it also doesn't work in the stock music player (well, actually, I don't use Speaker Boost myself, but instead I use Earpiece, which has some additional functions, but it does the audio boost the same way). I've never used the stock music player before, actually (I never listen to music; I use sound boost for movies and audiobooks). Thanks for the hint that the stock music player's equalizer is overriding this. I think that at on some devices I can override the stock music player's equalizer by grabbing the session ID of the music player audio session from the log, and attaching an equalizer to it with higher priority than the music player's equalizer. I will experiment with that when I have some time.
Running XYLON v2.1.1 A2 on AT&T One X, S-off. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2175273
The DSP manager works with the music on the phone, but doesn't do anything for music playing on internet radio. Played with all the adjustments with in the app, but they have no effect on the sound output.
Couldn't post in the ROM thread as I am new on the forum.
yea, sound mods don't work on those types of apps. i've been trying my hardest to find an app that'll play streaming audio embedded in m3u and pls files and take advantage of sound mods. the only app that i've found that will do it is Neutron Music Player.
Thanks! I will give it a shot.
