I rooted my phone using easy-root and installed RomManager to flash ClockWorkMod, but when I click to flash it only gives me the option for the T-Mobile SGSII. Will this flash still work for my phone or do I need to flash thru ODIN? SGS2 LTE on Rogers.
Yup the T-Mobile SGS2 option in ROM Manager will do the trick.
where did you find easy root? link?

Just did super one click root and wondering if I can install roms from rom manager now. Inspire root was so much more crazier.

Of course everyone is going to have a difference of personal opinion, but if you're looking for a solid ROM try Infused 2.2.3

Actually gtgs Tom in Tom manager is the only one you can flash without hellraiser

I suggest that you go to the dev section. There was only a couple of roms that were downloadable using rom manager. But now that he's moved to a new phone, he may have removed it.
Cranky...
My main question is am I able to do custom roms now just by doing super one click. On the inspire I had to create a gold card and took 20 mins to root. This took 5 mins or less lol

Not quite, you also need to install mod 3e recovery, and clockwork mod.
Easiest way (for me) is to odin uckd5 stock + root + 3e recovery (just follow link below), then download rom manager or whatever any other way you want to install custom rom.

So i tried odin. Came up com8 then bricked my infuse. Fixed it but now nervous to try it again. Any suggestions

1. Root - Best to use Super One Click (Find in Dev section)
2. Replacing Recovery file with Root Explorer app. (Free @ 4shared.com)
3. Download Rom Manager in the Market. (Free). In the app, Click flash ClockWorkMod Recovery and select Galaxy S i9000.
4. Shop for Roms in the Dev section and follow steps.
If you do your research in the dev section, you will be fine but you must follow step by step!

For future reference Adam outler packaged the defuse (froyo) kernel into a one click heimdall package, you can find it in the same thread as the one click uckj4 GB ROM heimdall.
The defuse one is for froyo and will root you and has cwm baked in. all you need is Java (any operating system) the heimdall backend (link in the Java app to install it) and on windows you need drivers (you already have them)
You may need to open the jar file from command line depending on the OS but its pretty easy.
Noob here,
I am wanting to unroot by samsung galaxy i897 on rogers network in Canada. I just rooted it using the superoneclick method. Now whenever I try to enable my wifi the phone keeps rebooting till I pull the battery and restart. I have decided that I am too stupid to have a rooted phone and am looking for a simple way to unroot my phone and restore it back to the standard gingerbread 2.3 it was running on before. I have tried the super one click unroot method, following the guide on this forum and it hasn't worked.
Thanks
simplest method is to flash to stock firmware
Hit me on the thanks button if you find it useful ; )

Another Noob Question
And how would I go about doing that?
You can use ODIN to flash to stock rom
Sent from my Galaxy Tab using xda premium
Ok, so I tried using odin to get back to the stock rogers rom using the roms posted on the following thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=979133
But even though odin says it was successful, the firmware is still AT&T. Any ideas why?
Did you try to wipe dalvik cache, wipe data before flashing to stock rom

Found a thread will the proper rogers firmware. All seems to be working well now. I think I was just just using incorrect at&t firmware. Thanks for the help.
Ultimately what I am trying to accomplish is to install SlimBean ICS on my friends Froyo Galaxy. (I am a Motorola Guy)
From my understanding you need to go to Ginger first. Easy enough, use Kies.
Next I need to install CM, this is where I am getting lost. Do I need to install 7 (GB) before I can install 9 (ICS)?
How do I install CM on this device? Totally lost because there are so many extra steps.
Lastly there is install SlimBean once CM is installed which is easy enough via CWM.
First question is, are you using a Galaxy or Galaxy S 4G? They're different.
Second, skip KIES, use a one-click. Flash once, reboot, Linda, Flash with bootloaders.
Then you can move on to the fun of ICS.
Please remove the battery from the phone and verify that the model for the phone is either
SGH-T959V
or
SGH-T959W
Those are the only phones the files on this forum are meant for! Reply with the model here so we can direct you to the right forum if your friend's phone is different than the Galaxy S 4G

[GUIDES] Fresh out of box Galaxy S 4G | Heimdall One-Click For Dummies
This should get you on GB and rooted with a custom recovery. I believe at this point you can just flash slim bean ICS.
Always make sure you have another ROM you can flash to if the one you want doesn't work. Also make sure you have a backup

That's the one I was using but it didn't explain going beyond gb custom

After using the One Click Heimdall just get to recovery. If you have cwm 5 then you're good to go, just flash the ROM. Search our wiki on how to get to recovery.

Thanks everyone for all the help and clarification. His phone is making me really appreciate how easy flashing a ROM on my phone is even with a locked bootloader.

Well im not a infuse user but i already tried superoneclick with no success.
Is there a flashable kernel that gives cwm? That it can be flashed with stock recovery.
Thanks in advance.
Details: firmware 2.3.6 ginger

Thx again.

Yes, there is.
qkster has bundled Entropy's dd kernel into a heimdall one-click you can use to flash it while the phone is on download mode.
You should find it in the super iset thread stickied on the development forums.
how can i install clock work mod recovery on a SGS4G if odin wont recognize it when its in download mode running 2.3.6 and rooted just need to flash a custom rom to fix two problems can anyone help?
Ask questions in the Q/A forum. This forum is for developing, and unless you've made a ROM or kernel named "how do i install clock work mod recovery" it doesn't belong here.
Wrong place to post this question. Go to the Help and Trouble Shooting section.

Lumins guide, search for it...
First two posts above were from when this was in the dev forum before it got moved. So now that we're in the right place...
You want to follow lumin's guide from here:

but using the Basic with a Twist package from here:

Use Heimdall in the above links instead. It can install a driver for your computer if you don't have one correctly installed.
