Is there a way to restore call logs and sms after flashing a new ROM?

I don't know about call log but look in the market for SMS Backup+. It uses a label (folder) in your gmail account to automatically store your text messages, and you can restore them with a single click.
Highly recommended.

You can use gmail sync in your settings to put your contacts in your phonebook.

That's the best option right there. Assuming you have been keeping your gmail contact list nice and clean.
Why doesn't my G2x delete hotmail messages on the server when I delete them on the phone like my HTC Aria did? Is it an HTC Sense capability?

You have to go into settings, and set it up to delete from the server.

I feel so dumb! Didn't see it in the settings before! Thanks bro!

Is there a way to limit the number of emails stored on the phone? I'm not seeing an option for that. I would also like for the emails to be marked "read" on my main inbox after I read it on the phone, any ideas?
I recently started using k9 mail because its a much better email client. The issue that I'm having is that after I go through and delete my mail from my inbox I click refresh and it repopulates the inbox with all the messages that I just deleted.

are the messages still on the server? there is an option under the settings to delete on server when you delete from inbox (if you really want to delete them).

K9 doesn't work well with pop3. If thats what you're using could be why.

I keep my contacts synced with google so they are there as soon as I sync my google account to the phone.

After installing google voice and skype, when i try to make a phone call tonight it only gives me the option to use either of those two apps. No more option to just call out using the default service with my regular phone #... i have gone into manage applications and made sure neither google voice or skype is checked for default dialer...suggestions?
