[ROM][CDMA][22/11/2011] MIUI-BravoC-1.11.18-2.3.7-data2EXT-CHS&ENG-2.6.38.8 - Desire Android Development

---PARTITION SD CARD(SD卡分区)
--remove all partitions and start from scratch(重新分配所有分区)---
1024(SD-EXT1分区分1024M)---
341(SD-EXT2分区分341M)----
256(SWAP分区分256M)----
YES(确认)----
EXT4(将分区格式化为EXT4格式)
点下PRINT PARTITION INFO(查看分区信息)
2011-11-17 22:30 上传下载附件 (109.91 KB)
我们就可以看到屏幕上打出了分区表了:
分区 文件格式 大小 剩余
SD-EXT EXT4 1024M XXXM
SD-EXT2 EXT4 341M XXXM
SDCARD FAT32 XXM XXXM
SWAP SWAP 257M -
WIPE FORMAT 清除数据&格式化 ----
FORMAT ALL PARTITIONS (EXCEPT SDCARD)(格式化除SD卡外的所有分区)
为了防止清除不干净,我们可以再点下
WIPE data/factory reset 及 wipe cache (清除用户数据及系统缓存之类的)
按返回键返回进入INSTALL FROM SDCARD(从SD卡上选择安装ROM)
----CHOOSE ZIP FROM SDCARD (从SD卡上选择ZIP格式的ROM)
-----XXXX.ZIP(就是你下载的ROM名)
The following translation from the anti-GOOGLE
English is not good, which greatly help translate, thank you!

2011-11-17 22:30 upload and download attachment (109.91 KB)
We can see the screen shot on the partition table:
The size of the remaining partition file format
SD-EXT EXT4 1024M XXXM
SD-EXT2 EXT4 341M XXXM
SDCARD FAT32 XXM XXXM
SWAP SWAP 257M -
So far, we have the SD card into FAT32 1GEXT1 341EXT2 256SWAP four partitions.
Coupled with a brush ROM part of it:
Third: Download MIUI ROM, the ROM download ZIP format SD card into the phone, into the RECOVERY mode,
WIPE FORMAT Clear data & formatting ----
FORMAT ALL PARTITIONS (EXCEPT SDCARD) (in addition to the SD card format all partitions outside)
In order to prevent removal is not clean, we can then point the next
WIPE data / factory reset and wipe cache (Clear user data and system cache and the like)
Press the Back key to return to enter the INSTALL FROM SDCARD (choose to install from the SD card ROM)
---- CHOOSE ZIP FROM SDCARD (from the SD card, select the ZIP format ROM)
----- XXXX. ZIP (that you download the ROM name)
OK, now you can open the brush, and brushing and press the return key to return, call the battery, (a lot of friends stuck in the first screen, the menu returns caused by REBOOT NEW unknown reason, it should be restarted leading RECOVER error, direct set aside the battery, install, and press the power boot, if the right steps, you can now boot up normally, but sometimes the test, the point REBOOT NEW can enter the system, I was depressed.)

I think he is mistaken as his procedure for the ROM flash seems to be for the HTC G7 (bravo c). He was talking mostly about flashing this ROM and partitioning SD cards and all that stuff

[Tut] Upgrade/Change SD Card with Ext2/3 [14/01 - Added Extra Freeware tuts]

This tutorial will show you how to Upgrade / Change to a new SD card having an EXT2/3 partition. This tutorial is for Windows platform only and assumes that you are comfortable with doing some basic functions with your phone.
Disclaimer:
I take no responsibility for any damage (if it occurs) to your phone by following the the steps mentioned below. Use it at your own risk!!! You have been warned.
Prerequisites:
1. HTC Desire - Rooted
2. Clockworkmod recovery installed on your phone (my version is 3.0.0.5?)
3. Nandroid
4. Download and Install - Freeware: Easeus Partition Manager
5. A windows PC and HTC desire data cable.
Steps:
1. Create a full nandroid back up for your current ROM from Clockworkmod Recovery screen. [No Mybackup or Titanium Backup - Nandroid is Required]
Boot phone into Clockworkmod recovery -> backup/restore -> backup (takes a few minutes) will make a complete backup of you rom, stored in clockwordmod folder of your SD-card (folder named with date and time) [Thanks Papedo]
2. Connect your HTC desire to your PC via your data cable and save the whole "Clockworkmod" folder from your SD card to a folder in your PC. Save any other files which you may want to in that folder.
3. Safely Eject the SD card.
4. Turn off your phone.
5. Remove the Old SD Card and Insert the new one.
6. Boot phone into Clockworkmod recovery.
7. Now select the option - "Partitions Menu"
8. Select option - "mount USB storage"
9. Open Easeus Partition Manager.
10. Create two partitions on the SD *exactly* in this sequence (assuming you have a 16gb card - windows will show 14.98gb free):
a. Fat32 partition - Primary - 14gb
Method: Right click unallocated space on your SD card and select "Create" -
A create partition dialog will pop up - use the following values:
Create As: Primary
File System: Fat32
Partition Size: 13980
Hit: OK
b. Ext2/3 partition - Primary - 1 gb
Method: Right click unallocated space on your SD card and select "Create" -
A "Create Partition" dialog will pop up - use the following values:
Create As: Primary
File System: Ext2 or 3
Partition Size: 1000
Hit: OK
11. Your SD card partitions should look like this (see DISK 3):
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
11. Hit Apply button which will appear on the left hand side.
11. Go to Windows Explorer to ensure that you can see and access the newly created FAT32 partition.
12. Once you are satisfied with the FAT32 partition go and copy paste all the files and folders from the backup of your OLD SD Card made on your PC to the new SD Card.
13. Once this process if finished reboot the phone into recovery.
14. Go to Nandroid - Select Restore. Choose the Backup you want to restore.
15. Nandroid will take sometime to check MD5 sum of the recovery image, be patient. If everything is OK, Nandroid will start restoring the image and will start copying files.
16. Once finished it will display "Restore Complete". Press the back button now, select "Reboot System Now".
Go Crazy!
Now you have a full functional new SD card with EXT 2 / 3 partition.

Thanks. Have a good day.
Hi celestialspring,
Nice explaining with details.. I have problem before kicking off.
i used unrevoked to root, have rom manager installed , clock work mod 2.5.0.7 i am using the latest leedroid rom.
How do i obtain a Nandroid back up to backup as u have required apart from titnanium and backup pro? I don't know how to get nandroid back up from. please advice. thanks a million.
Boot phone into Clockworkmod recovery -> backup/restore -> backup (takes a few minutes)
will make a complete backup of you rom, stored in clockwordmod folder of your SD-card (folder named with date and time)
I know that this is a Windows-only tutorial, and thanks for sharing.
However, when dealing with Android and its (advanced) aspects is always a good thing to have a Linux OS handy: in this case, having native access to the sdcard's ext partition, one can simply copy/paste its contents making the whole process a matter of seconds. Moreover, the gparted utility that ships with most Linux distributions can play the Easeus Partition Manager's role perfectly.

Personally, I wouldn't want to copy and paste the data within an ext partition. nandroid will do a better job of that i feel,
However, Gparted would definitely be my weapon of choice. In my professional experience, windows based partition managers have never been great at handling alien file systems

EASEUS Partition Manager didn't do the trick for me, but Parted Magic did.

Easeus will work but you need to create the partitions exactly as mentioned in the tutorial. If you create the EXT3 partition before the FAT32 partition it won't work. I learnt it by trial and error
Perhaps the biggest advantage of using Easues is that one does not need to burn a CD and then boot from it. I hate booting off my current work envoirnment just to partition an sd card.
This was the quickest and easiest way I found which worked for me. People who are more tech savvy can use Gparted or whatever.

No need to reserve the last portion for linux swap? Just only two partition (FAT32 & EXT3)?
Great .... ! But i have one question...2GB for android .. is it possible ? Or 1gb is really enough ?

2gb. I don't see any issues.
1 gb -- Yes, it is possible only if you want to run older versions of many ROMs. If you intend to run DHD ports then I don't recommened it.

Afternoon all.
My 4GB card is full. I'm running a rooted Desire, S-off with Amon-Ra recovery. My PC is running Linux. I want to swap to a bigger card. I'm fine with partioning the new card with G-Parted, and also cool with copying the data between FAT32 partitions.
I'm not so sure I know what I'm doing with the ext4 partition. Will Amon-Ra Nandroid backup and restore do the whole contents of the ext4 partition? So does the process go a bit like this:
nandroid backup
copy FAT32 partition to PC
partition new card
copy FAT 32 data from PC to new card
take the old card out and put the new one in
boot into recovery
nandroid restore
reboot
Have i got that right, or have I misunderstood something?
That's correct.

Just use 4ext recovery, waay better in every way and much more features. U can partition ur new sdard with it to (guide in my sig)
Using 4ext recovery to backup, simply go to
Backup/restore
Backup
Then copy "clockworkmod" folder to pc
Then once uv partitioned ur new sdcard, copy the clockworkmod folder back to new sdcard and in recovery go to
Backup/restore
Restore
Job done
CWM doesn't play with this phone, so I'm using Amon Ra
I just tried the process with Gparted as set out above, and it doesn't seem to have worked. Lots of apps are missing, I don't have the ext4 partition available, and no account details are loaded.

Took the battery out, and put the old SD card back in and miracualously I can now get into recovery. Did a Nand resore but the screen is now flashing white every few seconds. What the hell?

Problem in installing int2ext and all other scripts
I repartitioned my sd card and did exactly what was written. I made a 1GB partition through recovery but still the same prob.
No script gets installed. I get some error with "status 0" or "status 6" written in the end.
Installed cm10 b1 with int2ext4+ in it...mob refused to leave the boot screen. I restarted the mobile several times and finally it started. But the mobile is restarting whenever i touch any notification.

read PM and give it a try.
I have a stupid question... I am using the link2sd app... What is the difference between using app or script? Also is this better than link2sd?
Sent from my HTC Explorer A310e using xda premium
In link2sd the app data cache and dalvik cache are transferred to the external partition.. in this the SD ext partition acts as a part of your internal memory.. its your personal choice about which script to use... also some ROMs do not support some scripts .. like this is not supported in the Sense 4.0A and its modded ROMs..
PS my sdext size is 600 odd + 0 swap
Check out the screenshot for your understanding.. on what happens when you use. It.
Sent from my HTC Explorer A310e using xda premium
Yeah I understand that but is there any difference in using the app or adding the script in the rom? Also what does ungaze do?
Sent from my HTC Explorer A310e using xda premium
Apps2sd app transfers app data to your SD card.. and when you mount your SD on your computer as mass storage it may result in the force closing of some of your apps.. where as in int2ext it is transferred to the ext partition which is not mounted on your computer.. hence your apps remain unaffected..
Sent from my HTC Explorer A310e using xda premium
---------- Post added at 02:21 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:14 PM ----------
Ungaze .. is similar to int2ext but it has different requirement s and sometimes the write speed is diff on the SD card.. you can check the individual posts for all the correct specs..
Also note that int2ext+ will work only for ROMs having init.d support so check the ROM you are about to flash and then use of the script

At first u need to partition ua sd card before flash ics4.04 HTC rom. At it should be at least 512mb. And get there mini partition tool. And get the ext2 partition. It's best. U can get the tutorial in the XDA it self just search. If u can figure it out quote here.
After partition put ics rom(zip file) in memory card(not in any folder). Now go to recovery wipe data/factory rest>wipe partition>wipe dalvik>wipe system(compulsory)>now go to install zip from sd card then flash the new rom>reboot
And wait don't panic it ll take some time. After that don't unlock the screen wait for 2min then install mount2sd(u can use link2sd also but mount2sd is best). Then go to enumerator type su then enable every thing. N enjoy..
Hit thanks if I helped
Typing in swift key3 from tiny explorer with ICS
if am not wrong sense 4 Rom has no m2sd ya don't need link2sd also its auto if ya can't understand partition wizard do this
go recovery > advance )partition) choose any u like 1024 I choose then partition it it will erase all data so back up sd card then go and mout USB after con. to pc copy Rom to sd and do fresh install acc to procedure

I don't think its that simple dude. You need a root explorer (ES File Explorer also has that property), gotta rename the folder and gotta symlink it after moving it to sd-ext.
It's better you change it in the downloaded zip and flash it. Or simply download Sensebuild4

Does anyone have a 64gb micro sdxc card running on this phone?

I formatted it to fat32 and it still doesn't work. I tried it on different roms and no luck.

I've got several 64GB SanDisk Ultra and I get full capacity. I don't format them on Windows though.
Posted from my SGS4G, thanks to Team Acid development
What do you suggest then? I have a windows computer. I tried to format it through the phone but it doesn't recognize it. I'm running DJ's cm10.2 rom.

Personally, I know partitioning with eollie's oneclick works. It's the first one in the second post of my oneclick thread. Also check out lumin30's oneclick guide.
Reboot to recovery, nandroid backup (using an SD card that works) . Put device in download mode and oneclick. Put the SD card in, partition.
At this point I hope you report back
Flash your rom's zip so it's the same version as you backed up with. Same recovery. Nandroid restore your backup.
Worth a shot.

You can also download Ubuntu and run it off a USB stick, without modifying your Windows install.
I will try both suggestions when I have time and will report back. Much appreciated.

Ok I'm trying out the method of running ubuntu from USB which I did. I inserted the card and of course it gave me an exfat error. I go to format and there are fat, ntfs, ext4 and luks + ext4. I don't see fat32 so which one do I choose?

Well it doesn't matter what I choose it doesn't seem to format the card at all. Do I have to install the whole ubuntu to get all the capabilities? I chose trying out ubuntu option.

It should work with the "Try Ubuntu" option. Once you launch gnome-disks you should get a window labeled "Disks" with "Devices" in the left column. Select the microSD from there. From the gear in the top right, select "Format"
In the format dialog, you should select "Compatible with all systems and devices (MBR/DOS)" and "quick format" is fine.
Once the new partition table is written from that step, you need to add a FAT / VFAT / FAT32 partition to the disk. As I recall there is either a "+" symbol beneath the "bar graph" under the Volumes label, or there should be one off the gears beneath the bar graph.
If you're still having problems, I'll try to take some screen shots when I get home.
I would surely like screenshots. Take your time cuz i'm in no hurry.

Once you have gnome-disks running, select the proper drive. From the top-right gear, select "Format..."

Unless you know why you would want something different, you should select "MBR/DOS" (partition table type)
If confident you have the right disk, go ahead.
and you should end up with a disk with an MBR partition table and no partitions
Next, add the partitions you need. Select the free space and click the "+" beneath the map of the partitions
I am setting this one up for Hefe Hook and external data, with a partition for sd-ext and a spare, so I only allocate 54 GB to the FAT partition. If you only need a FAT partition, you can just let it use the entire disk.
After created, you should see it in the partition map. If you used the whole disk, you won't see the "Free Space" section.
If you're adding more partitions, for sd-ext, or other reasons, select the "Free Space" section, then click the "+" again.
Here I'm adding an ext4 partition for "app-to-SD" scripts and other legacy purposes.
Here is the four-partition disk that I am using today.
If you have problems like it not allowing you to convert from GUID to MBR partitioning, the following will wipe the beginning of the disk and generally let you start with partitioning. Insert the right drive letter in place of the # below
Make sure that you select the right drive, as you can wipe your system or any other disk you have with this!
Code:
sudo dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/sd# bs=4k count=1k
Success! Thank you for this extensive walk-through. It surely helped me out. I appreciate the time you took to make this.

[QUESTION] Install apps to external SD (ROOT) app? Galaxy ON5 G550t

I want to install ALL of my apps automatically (from Play Store) on to my EXTERNAL SD card without using any kind of adoptive option. I have root. I have a fast external SD card.
What app can I use. Does such an app exist? Have you tried it? Does it work?
Please note that I am aware that I can do this manually with SOME apps. I do not want this. I want them all to go over, and I want it automatic.
This would be such a great phone for the price if they corrected this small SD card issue.
I have been literally trying this all day today as well with no luck, I am not rooted though mind sharing which method you used?
If I ever get it to work ill let you know!

ROOT is pretty basic. Here's a nice step by step guide. (tmob/metro only)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/general/root-samsung-galaxy-on5-t3435457
I just tried to do the root essentials "install to sd" technique in conjunction with a Titanium Backup restore, and all the apps still installed on the main sd.
I've gotten it to work, after a bit of trial and error. First, make sure you are using this recovery:
Recovery tar :http://www.mediafire.com/?ysugtwzzusxgvw7
Recovery image:http://www.mediafire.com/?tln7q406dmejeq5
Boot into recovery and partition SD Card to 4GB or 6GB as ext4.
The rest of the sd card will be formatted with fat32.
The ext4 will become your "2nd partition".
Download and install Apps2SD Pro.
Go into Partition Tool within the app and you should see fat32 size and ext4 file system according to the size you allocated in recovery.
Select Format from the drop down and re-check the fat32 and ext4 file systems.
It should then prompt you to reboot.
Go back into and select Link apps to SD card, then select Recreate mount script from the left menu...
There are a few other options possibly, but those are the basics... You should now be able to link you apps to the 2nd Partition. Hope this helps!
I'm using 5.25GB out of 8GB internal storage and have several games installed that easily consume over 3GB alone!
