I was wondering what's the best combo to optimize ram usage to run graphic heavy games such as Shadowgun.
I don't play many games but I have the stock HTC kernel 2.6.35 for the xe and I'm running senseay xe 2.0 Rom and average 300 mb free of ram.

I use Sense-o-Maniac Sense 3.5 with Bricked kernel 2.6.35.14 overclocked to 1.89Ghz if i need it CPU Tuner is really great to set performance levels.
I too am wondering what's the best rom to go for. I'm currently using InsertCoin 3.4.3, but stability seems a bit patchy on my phone. I've already tried faux123's kernel but it ran way too hot, so I'm using bricked 1.5 instead now. Just wondering if there were any other roms that have been proven to be faster and more stable than InsertCoin.
The Rom I use has been my daily since I installed it the day he posted the Rom. Stable no fc's and I've used brick kernel on it for awhile with a little problems and went back to stock kernel seemed faster not oc'd running at 1.2 MHz.

hypersensation .09 and faux's latest kernel. Im a daily flasher that loves sense and ive been on this one for a couple of weeks. fast, amazing battery life, and if u dress it up nice its the best out there. I play shadowgun and dead space all the time with chainfire3d (just to force higher res settings) its a beast

Hey everyone i was looking at Lee's threads and saw his LeeDrOiD HD v2.2.2 and was curious if its possible to run on our devices or let alone his kernel to over clock to 1.8gz....im still learning this inspire world of mods and taking precautions
NOTE:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=842802 <-----all credits to LeeDroid of course
yes. is possible
Yes should work. Make sure you load the new audio fix posted in the leedroid op. Let us know how it goes.
I'm running the 1.8gz kernel can't see much difference between the 1.6gz from bumble but running 1.8gz with best performance enabled

I don't think the kernel used in this ROM is updated to be dual compatible for both DHD and Inspire 4G like CoreDroid or Android Revolution. Although i wish it was so I could give it a shot.
Im currently trying to decide between CoreDroid and Android Revolution as my daily (CM7 is still way too buggy).

Nice find! Now its on!
It's about time, 2.3.4 kernels with oc is just around the corner. I know faux has a 2.3.4 kernel but it's a pia to setup, this should make the kernel cooking much easier.

just checking
with this solve some of the stability issues or problems/inconsistencies that are being reported in some of the ROM threads? I have not rooted because there seems to be a minor glitch in almost all the Roms (from what I have seen). Just curious

No real answer for that since most developer cook differently unless they kang.
In all seriousness though, a lot of the minor glitches do actually lead back to the kernels.

Great news, hopefully we´ll see some improvement soon in the dual core CPU in speed and battery life!!
cant wait for the latest Faux kernel!
Could this help fix the audio issue with Xboarder AOSP? I hope so

Really looking forward to this getting great performance on faux kernel already so can only imagine what it'll be like now!

thanks. One of the problems I have is that my bluetooth stereo headset gives the person on the other line an echo when I talk. It did not happen when I used it with my HD2. Would the kernel, if addressed in the cooking, be able to fix the compatibility with 3.0 to 2.0?
I just got my G2X and just flashed Weapon 3.0 but I feel like it kills my battery. So I wonder if I can use any faux123's kernel with it?

Reset the battery stats and let it run for a couple of days. The kernel included with Weapon 3.0 is the most battery effecient one. I get 14-24 hours depending on use.
Faux123 0.1.3 I haven't had a random reboot yet and getting much better battery life oc at 1200 MHz

How do I reset the battery stats? I tried going to settings > about phone > battery use then stuck I don't see anywhere to reset it. Sorry I'm new to the android world.

does it take a while to boot up with faux kernel on the weapon 3.0?
I am running weapon 3.0 with faux 0.1.3 @ 358min 1200max. Super smooth so far, better than the weapon stock one.

Wow! That is a hot score. Hmm...I have tried custom kernels on some other roms with mixed results (probably my fault). Anyway, I am willing to give it a try again. What is the best way to back up the original kernel in case I want to reinstall it? Of course their is a nandroid back up, but is there a simple way to back up just the kernel?

Forget all that nonsense. See what is using up all the battery/keeping the phone awake/signal etc. That is almost certainly your issue. Not rom/kernel/volts etc

Airplane mode, you shouldn't be boasting about battery life really, you're misleading people!
This is what I get with about medium use.
ROM: Brainmasters MIUI 2.2.17
Kernel: Matrix 17.0.
Frequency: 1050 max 210 min.
Gov: Lazy
Live OC 105.
Arm voltages dropped by 25.

Try Matr1x
I can get 2d battery life with ICS and Matr1x kernel and very minimal usage. Get the kernel from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1361477.
For monitoring battery usage, I use https://market.android.com/details?id=ccc71.bmw&hl=en.
This was achieved with ICS 4.0.3 (CM), Matr1x kernel 1.5, deep idle enabled, Wheatley governor. Since this, I have updated to Matr1x 17.0 and stopped using deep idle because of instabilities. Battery life is still acceptable but varies day-to-day but is still almost always over 1d.
1. I am new to sensation.
2. Device gets hot when used for a while. Normal?
3. Battery life - none! Worst from any of the devices I used (and I had them all)
4. Running Quatrro ICS ROM from Virtouos.

I have an extended 1900mAh battery and it still gets hot at times.
I see your screen takes up a lot and so does mine, but I get WAY longer than 4 hours even on regular battery. Maybe try changing ROM's to see if it makes a difference. Or check out this battery.
http://www.amazon.com/Anker-1900mAh...ZJMC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1333056174&sr=8-1
Try installing a different rom & kernel. Then try setcpu or something similar that let's you control CPU clock speeds. Set up custom profiles for the CPU. Whenever mines starts to get hot it underclocks to a slower speed bringing the temp back down.
