[Q] Need recommendation on Theme/ROM - Droid X Themes and Apps

I'm visually impaired using the DroidX 4.5.605 rooted.
Up until this Verizon update I've found my phone usable, but I need to do something to restore the usability I once had.
1. I would like a high contrast interface, though some have suggested black backgrounds and white text, I would also be ok with the opposite.
2. I would like to double tap to open items. Right now areas like SETTINGS open on signle tap.
Can someone recommend a theme and / or a ROM that would allow me to have both of these features?
TIA,

Cm7 has some themes that are black and white I run .602 gb cm7 rom works great

I love cm7 themes and roms! Def need to take a look there!

[REQUEST]A themed stock messaging app?

There are plenty of themes for the messaging widget, making it more transparent or changing the colors of the buttons to access it, but the inside of the app itself is still white and uninteresting.
So, can someone please theme one? Or, if it's been done, send me to where I can find a themed stock messaging app? Maybe a black background and green text? or hell a black background and many options as to the color of the text. Just something that isn't that drab white. It doesn't go with any rom I've flashed.
If anyone can do it, thank you!!!
*bump*
is this really not possible?
I think this is why people use the alternative messaging apps. Theming in handcent and Chomp SMS is built in.
What's so great about the stock messaging app that you prefer it, anyway?

1. The widget is full screen, transparent and simple. Hancent you consistently have to click on the little picture, then menu, then "all threads"...it's annoying. Also, in most themed sense roms, the widget is themed but not the app itself. So in myn's rom, everything is dark and transparent...but when you open the app, it's boring and white. It's like you're only trying to make the home screens look better and nothing else. Also, you can't theme the widgets from chomp or handcent, so unless your theme happens to look like their widgets, it looks out of place and you're boned anyway.
2. Handcent and Chomp have ads. Ads are annoying and make the product look cheap. I even paid for chompsms ads to go away and they came back. I left a strongly worded e-mail...and review...and i tell people not to get it.
3. the stock app is faster and takes up less space than the 3rd party ones and can't be uninstalled. You HAVE to have it, so why can't someone spend some time and make an app you HAVE to have look a little better?
4. Gmail, menus, the drawer launcher, the drawer itself and various other stock programs are themed all the way through, why not the messaging app too?
I would ask for the stock sense mail app too but I don't use it enough to really care. The messaging app I use 200 times a day minimum.

I love the look of the stock messaaging app in CM6 and would like to have the same thing on a sense rom. Im sure its possible some how.

devs, there's a call for a modded messaging app (not just the widget!).
Who is brave enough to heed the call? CM already has one but it's aosp, we need a sense one.
Please? Anyone? Bueller?
I've always wanted this also. I didn't think it was possible since no one has a themed mms.apk in their rom, so I never posted about it. I did use the cm6 version of AOSP but for some reason mms never worked. Hopefully some of the great developers on xda can get this done for us.
k done with theming it

1) With LauncherPro plus you can have a messaging widget that displays messages from what ever messaging program you use. Its great, I love it!
2) I've never tried ChompSMS because I love Handcent and I've never once seen an advertisement except for an ad for one of their own services within the settings menu. Such a tiny infraction is something I cannot fault them for given how long I've been using their otherwise ad free app.
3) You're right on this one but its really not a concern. On my old MyTouch 3G, I worried about it, absolutely. However, given that Froyo offers the ability to install apps to the SDcard there is absolutely no reason to worry about space. Its just silly. Its akin to being worried about fitting a six pack of beer in a Suburban.
4) No clue, so I'm not going to address it.

[THEME] Matrix 0.5 (07-09-11)

**UPDATED** I have decided to upload the theme in its present state(so people may enjoy it while I work on it more). Simply flash the Matrix.zip in CWM, to get rid of it, reflash your rom.zip. I have tested this theme using Infused 1.50 /w Infusion 1.8 and found no usability, stability, or readability problems. As always flash at your own risk.**UPDATED**
Matrix 0.5 Theme for flashing in CWM
In it's present state, the notification bar is partially themed, the dark, and grey popups are rethemed 100%, the system font is tweaked, the bootanimation is changed, download bar, volume bar, new emoticons, "rudolph" style window animations. It is basically 30-45% done, the hard work of hand editing the framework is where the rest of the progress will take place.
This theme is a simple UOT Kitchen file(incomplete theme), but I plan on completing this over the next 6 weeks (preparing for overseas travel right now) and making it into a total theme package that will be a cwm zip.
Theme concept: Solid black background, bright green text and icons, muted green for secondary colors, and inactive text/notifications. Some light theming will be along the lines of the matrix (bootanimation, wallpaper) This would provide battery savings by eliminating white backgrounds where possible, as well as increased contrast.
I am learning how to theme using the resources here on XDA, and can complete this project in my own time on my own, but with additional help the time could be greatly reduced.
I will not be waiting for gingerbread as I need to hone my theme making skills while waiting for it's release. My skills are still growing but I am comfortable editing the framework xml and images. Let me know if you want to help.
**Important Note**For whatever reason, you will manually have to copy bootanimation.zip into system/media for it to function. Also, your ROM must support it.
Download Matrix.zip
go for it dude, id def use your theme. i messed around with uot for a few days & was thinkn about going matrix stlye, but im sure yours will be much more impressive, as i have no theming experience watsoever. i think its pretty cool you offered this...

Thanks to above for the downloads, I'm glad your enjoying it. If you like the theme now, just wait until I get more elements themed. The blasted white clock might be a long time coming, but I would rather have it there than remove it to spite it's color. Please be patient for updates, right now I work full time, I own a house by myself, go to college, and presently I am getting ready for my first overseas trip ever in 2 weeks(that's not mentioning the girlfriend or the garden).
I fully respect all the hard work our devs put into the ROMs and esp the Kernel work going on right now, but I just won't put that much time in yet.
My goal is to have this theme as complete as Matted Blues, with significant progress within 6 weeks, most of it towards the end of that time frame.
If anybody who is using this theme has comments or suggestions, I will take them into consideration, as I posted above I would also love to work with a more experienced themer, if anybody likes the direction this is headed.
tried installing, got stuck at installing no update, with no action on the installation bar. i noticed on matted blues he says its for infused rom(s), is this also the case? will this not install on refuse?

i'm stuck in the installing "update" no movement in the progress bar. been there for about 5 minutes. ideas?
byuboy87 seems to have had the same problem, and then have fixed it himself.
It appears you are coming from Infused. This should load fine by rebooting into recovery, install zip from sd card, choose zip, matrix.zip, confirm, then reboot.
Did you by chance try running update.zip instead of matrix.zip?
Please post whatever information pertinent to the problem you can, I would like to track down where people are having problems installing the theme so I can streamline the process and eliminate problems in my next version.
Just installed and liking so far. One thing did notice...in the pull down notifications when using Andchat i can not read the connection status only the errors. Think the connection status is black on black. Not a big deal but wanted to point it out. Great work by the way.

lol id hate to insult your intelligence by telling you the obvious, so if i am wrong i apologize. i had this problem & it was bcuz i was mistakenly trying to flash bootanimation.zip...stupid... slightly confusing at first, bcuz the .zip downloads are in two diff locations. make sure you actually download matrix.zip lol

any chance this will be reworked to work with infused 2.0(GB)? love all the top icons in the notification bar all green. only thing i would like to change is to have the 5 green bar(strength) but not a big deal.

After using miui...

After using miui I can't go back to any other. The features and functionality of this ROM is just beyond what I ever thought would be possible in an android device.
Their slogan is "Redefining Android" and they surely are.
I was on the fence if I should try this ROM or not since Weapon was pretty awesome too , but after trying this one I'm not looking back.
Thanks goes to Whitehawkx, Segnaro, Jface for making this happen.
****Note****: if themes are not working for you is because you need to go to /data/system and create a folder called theme.

Let's post the functionality that this ROM has for those that aren't sure what "we" are talking about.
I will post what I remember and then If you guys remember any other feature post it, then I'll update this post with the feature you posted.
Themes - can be downloaded directly from ROM and apply within the ROM. You can theme things separately like the dialer, status bar, toggles, icons, lock screens, messaging app, etc. You can dip all this with the theme manager engine they use. Ability to change fonts within ROM without restarting phone.
Features -
Dialer - record calls and take notes within the dialer during a call. Two big features I always wanted.
Dialer also works as a T9 keyboard
Browser - scroll up and down with volume rockers (pretty cool), hitting the back button actually goes back, not like other browsers.
Screenshots - by pressing menu+ vol down
Settings - Redesigned setting menu with added features and tabs to categorize each setting menu.
Ability to track data usage
Integrated app killer and app manger by long pressing the home key also by long pressing the back key, closes the app completely.
Lock screen - hold down home button will turn on torch
Toggles - when long pressing a toggle, it will open that toggle setting screen.
Camera - added features like Sutter control, zoom in screen, adjustable brightness on screen, touch to focus and redesigned camera skin.
A whole bunch more that I'm sure I'm forgetting or don't know about.
Keep posting features below!

Dude I totally agree, this rom is just amazing it pretty much uses the same kernel As cm so u know the speed is there, it actually feels a little more fluid. And on any other rom when u go to change the lockscreen or even launcher, u have to do a little , "work" and u have to be a little tech savvy for that part, but with miui they make it so damn easy someone coming from the razor could do it LOL , and there is so much options to choose from, **** sitting on latest kernel source, voodoo, and some badass 3d animations, very cool rom oh and moshe22 when u hit back with the browser it actually goes back a page u don't have to hit it a zillion times, the volume scroll is badass

I used MIUI on my G2 or vibrant, can't quite remember. I liked it a lot, but the battery life was so poor I couldn't stick with it. How is it on our phones? I don't need 15 or 20 hours or anything, but wouldn't mind something decent.
Also, are there different ports of MIUI for our phone? If so, are they all pretty much the same? Thinking I'm gonna give MIUI another shot, but want to use the version available that will leave the best taste in my mouth.

Been running Miui since last August/September, whenever it was ported to Evo. Sans CM its by far the fastest, smoothest, most stable rom out there. I haven't seen any reason to switch since it was released for G2x. I'm still on 1.7.26, and dont feel the need to upgrade. Thats how good Miui is.
On my G1 I was flashing roms every day. Moved to Evo/NS and flashed once or twice a week.
On my G2x? I think I've flashed mayyybe 4 roms since 4/20. Why? Cause anything LG touches turns to poop. No offense to all the bomb devs, but CM/Miui are the only things worth running on this phone. I dont get why anyone even wants to run a stockish build when CM/Miui are so much better in every single aspect.

Atrix 2 ROM reviews

I have used all of the ROM's available for the Atrix 2, here's my review on each
RebelROM
This was the first ROM I tried out so it's the bar, so to speak, for all A2 roms. First installed it when beta 2 was the current version...lovely ROM! I loved how fast and smooth it was, the minimal theming was perfect and it was very easy to install (CWM flash). I didn't care for the stock dialer and the MiFiles app UI was a nice change but it only supports pics/video/music, can't use it like a full fledged file explorer so it was a waste of space to me. It's an incredibly pared down ROM with smooth operation and subtle theming mods. I did encounter issues with Calendar sync (wouldn't sync) and the GPS didn't work either. Calendar sync was resolved by doing a factory reset..GPS was resolved by removing CWM on boot, which also removed the OC. Reflashing the rom after this (without wiping data) restored the OC and preserved GPS, although it was incredibly inaccurate....as in off by 2+ blocks. Also, turn by turn navigation didn't work....it would give me the directions but the actual turn by turn never kicked it, always said "finding gps". Was never able to work that out.
All in all, great ROM! Beta 3 added some nice theming and some more stuff under the hood but it too is incomplete. Was able to fix the major issue with Beta 3 by flashing one of JWM 28's 1% battery mods.
SCv5
This ROM I think is the fastest and smoothest of them all but my big issue with this one is some of the apps are carryovers from the Atrix 4g, like the text messaging and Blur setup one's. That being said, when I restored by apps and app data I lost out on all my text/sms messg's since the app used in this rom is not the same one used in RebelROM. This was a deal breaker as I despised the look and feel of the Atrix 4g software. If that wasn't enough, the settings menu interface also had the look of the Atrix 4g. I just could not get used to this new look and these apps. Speaking of apps, the Market app is the old one, and wouldn't update for me like it should. I ended up installing the new apk myself, minor inconvenience. And Google maps wasn't included. I did like the animations and UI aside from the portions of it described above, but it just wasn't for me.
AtrixBlaze
This one didn't last long on my phone. I first flashed v2, immediately got rid of it. The font was hard to read (too small, type of font didn't help either). The minimalistic text launcher icons weren't my cup of tea, the theme was over the top and the boot animation was low quality. No reboot option in the power menu. But everything else worked and in speed and smoothness there's no complaint. Ended up giving v3 a shot for the past 4 days or so, wanted to give this version a fair shake as the issues described above for the most part can be customized. This version the dev stepped up his game and came out with what looks like a complete graphical overhaul complete with beautiful ICS animations. The font was much better....but the theming was just way too much for my taste. The icons for the drop down toggles were kind of hard to see/figure out what they were for mainly due to their small size. The notification bar icons were cool, but some were just too small...like the usb one. Nice icons but due to the tiny size up there it just wasn't a good fit, IMO. And unless you stick with a neon blue theme, the bar will stick out like a sore thumb. It's got 2 dialers, one regular one modded like crazy and one in-call dialer....I much prefer the in-call dialer. On the regular dialer if you have big fingers like me you could be a little unsure if you pressed the right number since the whole button doesn't light up, the horizontal dividers and light up animations just didn't sit well with me either. The settings menu icons were nice but just added to the graphical overkill. No problems functionally with this ROM but the over the top theme is just too much.
VictoryROM
A minimalists' dream! Simple and to the point with some very classy mods that fit perfectly. Going into settings and clicking any subsection, the UI looks perfectly stock aside from the tastefully small, ICS blue boxes next to the optional selections...when selected, a tastefully small, ICS blue checkmark populates said box. Very nice! The dialer looks stock, and is for the most part...the mod he did to it doesn't jump out and slap you in the face, it's very subtle and clean looking. The in-call screen is similarly modded. My only qualms about this ROM is that it doesn't have the 1% battery mod nor a reboot option in the power menu...but the icons and text in said menu are clean and crisp. No OC, although that's a good thing as far as battery life is concerned. And the battery icon has no numerical charge indicator. Other than that, an absolutely perfect, classy, tastefully done ROM that works fully right out the box. The theming that has been done to it is not only minimal but complete and consistent throughout the ROM. I'm not sure if JWM 28's 1% battery mods will work on this ROM but i'm going to find out shortly Definitely some room for improvement under the hood, would love to see an optional OC version with the ICS animations and the 1% battery mod as well as reboot in the power menu but other than these small things this ROM absolute perfection!
Disclaimer:

I appreciate the hard work they have put forth on these things and that they allow us to use their creations free of charge, I am simply giving my personal opinion of their ROM's since I have tried them all with the goal of providing an objective review for those who haven't.
Nice re-cap / review of our ROMs. I pretty much agree with your views. Only thing I would change is the note on install method for RebelRom. Its an install zip through bootstrap/CWM recovery. Not a "restore" file.
I'd like to see the options you mention in Victory ROM too. Especially the reboot in power menu option.

I was running the Atrix Blaze rom for a while (great rom also), and actually i've tried all available roms/psuedo-roms and there were always a few things that I liked/disliked about each.. sooo, I researched a bit and learned a lot about what's where in terms of the system workings for the A2 (and androids in general), and started to change things myself..
That being said, I am currently on a modded version of VictoryROM (i performed a bunch of these mods to Atrix Blaze first, but decided to wipe data (3x) and go with the minimalistic V-rom and start over)...
I changed the fonts, dropdown items, status bar items, lockscreen, dockbar (hotseat), check/toggle buttons, etc.---> (For fun, see if you can spot where I got everything from! Big props and credit goes to those from which I borrowed!! ) I also tweaked out the build.prop and installed milestone overclock (still at stock 1000, but will probably go up to 1100), so I can fine tune the speed.
Not through tweaking and experimenting yet, but so far I'm calling it the altROM (not really - i'm not a rom baker, so it's kind of a joke..)

Looks Awesome. Can't wait for this ROM either. Atrix 2 developing is really picking up after a slow start. Thanks to everyone.
@alteredlikeness
You post could have been written by me. I'm in the same boat so-to-speak. I have to ask. What's in the SystemUI.apk? I'm wanting to make my settings menus (all) black backgrounds.
ROM Toolbox is an invaluable tool. I just changed my battery indicator.

The SystemUI.apk has the quickpanel (dropdown) stuff, and the status bar icons, etc.
Not sure yet about all the settings menus yet, i'll get back to you on that. But i'm pretty sure that they are .9.png files, so it's best not to try and edit unless you are familiar with the process. You can usually just swap - copy over - the exixting .9.png files from different roms with no problem. I'll look into it more and let you know (if you don't figure it out yourself first)
Cool. I just used the icon changer in ROM Toolbox to swap the battery icon. Notice the reboot icon/script I have on my screenshot. That came from RTbox as well. Kinda cheating. But I have changed out some .apks (not really all the difucult either using RTbox.
I have a Linux box so my methods will be a little different than most here using Windows apps. Thanks.

What files did u change for the wifi color I've also been wanting to change my 4g icon

Thanks for your review !
IMO, difference between these ROMs is themes, no more.
Speed, smooth ... are same; bugs, lag and something that locked by Moto are same of course!
Simple reason : all of them based on stock 2.3.5/2.3.6 of Moto for Edison.
Things that I hate on based stock Rom for Atrix 2, have not been fixed yet in all available "cook" Rom now :
- Lock screen
- Light sensor problem
- Lag touching when use virtual keyboard (tried many keyboard apps)
- Freeze when slide to answer (same as Milestone 3 yrs ago)
- Hidden functions/options in Setting menu
- True mobile Hotspot (no needed for sign-in AT&T account)
- Free-call apps compatibility like Viber, Skype, Yahoo Messenger (video call)
- Better camera quality (color, saturation, exposure...)
...
So, change will come if :
- Motorola releases new Rom for A2 (or at least fix all bugs that I listed above)
- Bootloader unlocked for flashing AOSP or any full/ported Android ROM.
Because it's AT&T version so I'm sure Moto still locks things that they think it should be or AT&T want special Rom for them like this way.
Hope and wait now !

There are nine or so .png files in SystemUI.apk/res/drawable-hdpi called stat_sys_wifi_signal_(something)
I think the 4g icons are also in there.. under zz_moto_stat_sys_data_(something)
You can just swap out those .png files with the ones you want. PM me or search if you want a detailed explanation as to how..
@vinamilk
That's one way to look at it. Anothèr is despite motorola/at&t's efforts to keep the phone locked down, development is underway. The community is working it out. Its a testament to how good this handset really is and the potential here. Is the glass half empty or half full? ;-) in the end, our accomplishments will be all the sweeter for having to go the extra mile.

KEB64, if Google gives you full ROM (AOSP), it's more easier for you to re-build, "cook" or tweak yourself. But Rom that based on stock which locked/deleted functions for special request from Carrier agent is hard to tweak more.
I appreciate the effort of all Devs here but we have to admit a lot of limitation when cooking Rom from locked stock Rom.
Understood.

How to Really Mod CM7 so you have ICS/JB on Your G2X - IT'S HERE!!!

For the most part, ICS/JB is a user interface change. Pleasant looking menus with a cool blue color. There are quite a few options out there to give your G2X the look/feel of ICS/JB but I had my eye on efficiency.
The Ice10 Theme and Holo apps are easy on the battery and use little additional CPU. Of course, if you increase cache sizes and use fancy transitions YMMV. But I'm quite happy with my ICS/JB themed phone.
1. Start with the latest CM7 Nightly. I don't know if this works with other ROMs, but it should. GB7.2 is recommended.
2. DO A NANDROID BACKUP
3. Install the ICE10 Theme: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2003484
. . This gives you some of the ICS/JB look/feel.
. . Put the Ice10.apk on your SD Card, click to install. Then start the Theme Chooser app, select Ice10 and click Apply.
. . If you get a theme error that you are missing assets for your screen size, just click Apply Anyway. Reboot phone.
4. Install Holo Launcher: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobint.hololauncher
. .Holo Launcher on XDA
. .Holo Launcher is a brilliant app that gives you the ICS app drawer, screens, and menus. The screenshots don't
. .do it justice, it looks even better than that!
5. Install Holo Locker: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobint.locker
. .Holo Locker on XDA
. .This gives you the ICS lock screen!
For the Ice10 Theme, the G2X resolution is already 240DPI so no changes are needed.
I paid for Holo Launcher Plus because the full ICS/JB experience is well worth the $1.99. It includes additional transitions and improvements. Holo Launcher is insanely customizable! The dock is scrollable and can have up to 10 icons. The Desktop and Drawer each have settings for the "scrolling cache", which is none, Low quality, Normal quality, and High quality. All this really means is the higher the quality, the more RAM it uses to make the transitions faster and smoother You can also change the desktop and app drawer grid size so you can fit a hell of a lot more apps on your screen.
For both Holo apps, I recommend going into the Settings and disabling Auto check for Updates and Auto Report. I don't like my apps checking for updates in the background, uses battery and CPU.
The Ice10 theme XDA thread contains wonderful info on final mods you can make to truly have the complete and total ICS/JB look/feel. Keep in mind that isn't a G2X thread so some of the mods, like the final Menu mods, are phone and ROM specific, so someone would have to make those additional mods specific for the G2X and specific ROM.
The below screenshots are for my CM7 Nightly ROM. Notice how Holo Launcher gives you a dramatic difference in the Settings. The Menu button is also different and the menu options are completely customizable.
Sorry for the lo-res Starship Enterprise wallpaper but it was a camera photo taken of the TV screen some days ago. Zooming in lost lots of resolution.
This is really a fantastic mod. I have all the user interface benefits of ICS/JB while having a totally operational phone with HW acceleration. I really don't need or don't care about using any other ROM at this point, although I'm waiting for Mazout's next kernel.
Thanks to EricTheLuminant for pointing me in this direction.
Remember to THANK ME if you appreciate this!
Thanks I'll probably try the theme later tonight.
Two quick questions: what does your notification center look like? And can you pull down the notification center from the lock screen?
That makes it really easy to check my texts if its in my shirt pocket.

Yes, you can pull down the notification bar from the lock screen. I just tested it on my phone, I didn't even know ICS could do that!
With the above mods notification bar looks like a cross between ICS and GB. It can be modded to look exactly like ICS/JB.
I see you are enterprising on the theme and guide I mentioned earlier! This is good, but you are missing some vital elements that can make CM7 even more ICS/JB like.
Using this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1363239, you'll find many more options. If you are experienced enough or willing to read instructions carefully, you can also use the ACpatcher software to custom mod several apps and the framework to increase the experience. It's very technical, and I don't have the willpower to walk through each and every step.
However, I have made some patches already based on the 2013-03-01 cm7 nightly. I'll see if I can upload them for you guys to give it a whirl. They add ics style notifications, transitions, and phone. See the screenshots attached.

I took a quick look. My focus is on stability and performance, and some of the mod apps mentioned in that thread have huge RAM usage, crash often, and/or have more negative than positive reviews, including the status bar apps.
The Holo Locker lock screen is much better than the GB lock screen. It's easier to use. The only thing I miss is being able to change from ring to vibrate to silent from the lock screen.
Holo Launcher makes the entire experience much more pleasant. It only uses 38MB of RAM.
The Ice10 theme from what I can see uses minimal RAM.
Oh of course. I'm not talking about the RAM using apps, nor do I use any of them...I'm talking about themeing and replacing the framework and phone app to better suit ICS/JB style. That status bar image is completely stock, as is the phone.
These don't affect battery, merely the look.
Download the patches I have made from my dropbox and put them on your sd card.
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/d8g2bdll7i2jn3a/jv85IfKLeG
These patches were made based on the 2013-03-01 CM7.2 Nightly, and I do not know if they will work for older versions or other roms. They are made specifically to work with the Ice10 theme. It is important that these are flashed in the correct order.
1. In CM recovery, make a nandroid backup (although you can also flash the undo.zip files in case of failure. They will restore the original unmodified apps, and you should only need to flash the update-cwm-All-in-1 ICS v11-undo.zip)
2. Select mounts and storage
3. Select mount /system
4. First Flash update-cwm-All-in-1 ICS v11-patch.zip
5. Second Flash update-cwm-JBPhone-pach.zip
6. Last Flash update-Full.ICS.Fonts-with.Clock.Font.zip
7. Wipe cache and dalvik
8. Fix permissions
9. Reboot (will take a few more minutes than usual to rebuild the cache)
Afterwards, you should notice a few things. Your status bar, notifications, font, phone, etc. will be themed more properly to ICS/JB. Good luck!
thanks
Thank to both of you. Till now i have been using ics theme on ADW launcher. Many key components were not themed to ics. Hope to get it sorted now.
Thanks again.

Install Holo Launcher and you'll think your phone came from heaven.
.
Eric, you are going to have to tell us EXACTLY what your patches include. I don't install anything blind.
That would help wouldn't it?
Inside update-cwm-All-in-1 ICS v11-patch.zip:
You'll find theme modifications to the system apps bluetooth.apk, deskclock.apk, downloadprovider.apk, music.apk, phone.apk, systemUI.apk. These will further theme the system apps to the color and style of ICS/JB.
framework-res.apk is also modified to add ICS/JB transition animations, as well as ICS/JB themed notifications and status bar.
If you look at the images I posted earlier, you'll notice that the status bar notifications have that little square on the left, in the manner of ICS.
Inside update-cwm-JBPhone-patch.zip,
you'll find another phone.apk, framework-res.apk. This must be flashed after the first patch, as it will overwrite the the previous ones. This will give your phone app a more ICS/JB style look as well. See screenshots from earlier.
The last patch, update-Full.ICS.Fonts-with.Clock.Font.zip, merely adds the ICS roboto font across your device.
The undo-patches simply return the themed apps back to the original CM7 stock ones. Is it imperative that the theme patches are flashed correctly in the instructions mentioned previously if you wish to use them.
Will the patches work with Hellfire rom?
Wow. Very very cool, Eric.
What if I only want the settings mod?

Got it! IT WORKS!
However, the headings ("Wireless and Networks", "Interface", etc) aren't the nice cool blue color. How do I get that?
BTW, if anyone is having problems copying settings.apk into system/root using ES file Explorer, after you click "Mount File System (mount /system as writable)", you need to close ES, then restart.
It has to do with the parameters set by the Ice10 theme. This is probably out of our control, unless someone edits the theme file itself to change the codes and such. Way out of my ability, anyways.

It's just a theme change. You shouldn't lose anything. Why, is there some tweak needed to play that game?
