Really smart move from the mods in xda, to remove the most active and helpful dev for the mt4gs forum, just for past personal issues... I didnt get along good with him, but he was very helpful, always participated and with his contributions encouraged more devs to work for the mt4gs.
Once again, not very smart mods... Forums are meant to be open, not restricted, as long as its regarding the topic of the forum, and that's all he did.
I might get banned and/or this post deleted, but i just had to give my opinion. Boop.

The Hub Hub is that he was banned because of something he hade did a while ago. Its lame, there murding the Last good qwerty for T-Mo. Our Device was completly overshadowed by the Sensation.

the_scotsman briefly explained it already. He was banned previously because he caused a lot of problems. Then he got around the ban by making a new account (which is against the rules) so he got banned again. Or at least that's what I understood from it.
From what I noticed is he was soooo arrogant and rude. He was always quick to jump on a noob for posting something wrong but as soon as you said something about one of his ROMs he would get pissy with you. Good riddance.

Yes its true he was rude, but nevertheless he would help you out, not like other devs wich you might get lucky if they respond a question of yours. On top of that, he was the only one truely dedicated to the doubleshot. Others dev for us on their free time. Yes he is in rootzwiki and now so am I, but i really liked the simplicity in this forum... Oh well...

Have you ever had to do something you didn't want to because it was your job? Let's face it, the mods don't ban people for topics list this, they allow you to express opinions, etc. But if they allow everyone the leniency you are asking for, this entire forum would be a mess. There are few things that actually get you banned, and undead violated a few of them, several times. It sucks big big balls for us, but look at the big picture before calling out the admins. Overall, this entire forum is a better place because of what they do, positive or not.

Brilliant+nice practically doesn't exist on this planet. It is because there is a natural friction between intellect and ignorance. Neither can see from each other's perspective because their perspectives are so absolutely foreign to each other. It ends in a great deal of frustration between the two groups, which ultimately comes out as RUDENESS.

Now fact of the matter is that if you ban everyone who is RUDE, you ban everyone you actually need in order for this system to work to begin with. You can have developers who are rude mixed in with users who are not nearly as knowledgeable, or you can ban everyone with knowledge and intelligence and have a bunch of whiny users, among whom there is not a single one with the ability to actually push the PURPOSE of the forum to being with.
Two choices: Either accept a bit of rudeness and condescension, OR, shoot yourself in the head. Can't have it both ways.

He kanged a few roms without permission as teamjokerface name. That was one of the biggest things plagurisim I suppose.
My thing is he leanred from his mistake and improved his ethics. The fact that he made a new name and improved himself should be an awsome acheivement nota ban.

Basically this is correct.
If any of you recall TeamPokerFace, we banned him many months ago for several reasons, including a lot of epic kanging and being a read idiot.

First of many topics. Two of the major developers for the #Thunderbolt have departed ways with XDA. It is a sad day to say the least, but one that has been coming. What are your thoughts? New Devs must have a point of view. What is the state of XDA? Will foul mouthed trolls keep pushing great developers out of XDA?

The Facebook generation at its best. I've been lurking for a year, active over a month. In that time the forums have literally degraded into anarchy. The moderators here at XDA have to accept some, if not all, of the blame. This is the General section... Do you really have that big of a problem with people beginning their own thread to discuss a topic that interests them strictly because the conversation has already been had in a different thread..? In my opinion, you just spot-on proved what dbu said. If you honestly don't have a positive contribution to any given thread, then why even throw in your two cents? You've done nothing but spread negativity.
Anyway, I think a combination of flame wars, reoccurring problems, and flat-out disrespect has driven many of the TB's devs away. I've been active on XDA for all of a month, but the way in which older members act towards new ones really puts me off to contributing to any thread within a mile of the development section. That's not to say that every older member acts rudely towards every newer one, but that's certainly the trend I observe here, and quite frankly, putting myself in the shoes of the BAMF team or Chingy, I wouldn't want to be a contributing member of a community like this one. I'm sure it hasn't always been this way, but presently it is, and that's really a shame.
I have been a long time lurker too and i can agree. I am someone who can appreciate the hardwork of these devs but quite frankly I think some are too quickly to get there butt hurt over what some tard is saying.
Sometimes I feel like we are in a locker room and everyone's strutting around trying to proove how big there junk is.

I've been on XDA long enough to know dev on dev disputes are the most childish, frequent, longest lasting and tit for tat of all the non sense that goes on in these forums. they as a whole cant even regulate the foolishness amongst themselves so they really have no room for fingerpointing.. Between this phone and my last rarely had a day or two gone by without one dev jumping into another dev's thread throwing a jab or an insult and even after it appears resolved three months later same two devs are in some thread back at it as if they are unfamiliar with the PM button.
That said guess what, it was perfectly fine by me. Not like I was paying for any of this (yes I have donated). Just dont tell me these devs are above the problem and not apart of it.
I also dont really understand why people are so pissed they have to go somewhere other than XDA to get roms like they get free mints by using XDA. I use gingeritis and I dont give a rats ass where its hosted as long as its hosted.

I have been here for a few months.
I struggled trying to learn some stuff to contriburte to themeing and stuff. I will tell i agree with some others as to the problems:
1. Some of these dev(no names at all) likr to share info and help spread the info, while others have this holier than thou attidude. Just search, or google it is not an answer. I don;t want to be sppon feed, but if you can't answer in a good manner, then skip the message and move on. The dev's should never been calling users idiot's, stupid, or whatever name they can come up with. This site was here to share, and for them to develope thier wares.
2. Moderators play a huge role as to why this is goign downhill. I have report several items in which i think a conversation has goen to far, and not once have ever gotten a response back from a moderator. Not a will look into it, I talk to the person.. nothing.. So one gets the feelign unless your a dev, or been here a long time, you get anything from a moderator.... dang shame.
3. Why are not the moderator taken a more active role? You how many times you can go into the many, many threads and see someone name calling or even cursing? I could care less about cursing per say, but this type of envioriment has no place for it. No a single thing from moderators... nothing...
4. There have been some that put some much into this, and get cetain threads stickied.. I love those people.. But as word gets out about this site, more users will be here vs devs, and unless some control is put into place this community will continue to go downhill.
And now I return you to your nomally scheduled programming...
I agree that the mods play a huge roll in a lot of this. Many of them do no moderating at all, which is a shame. Personally I think Xda has grown to large with not enough oversight to many threads on exactly the same thing, usually on the same page. Time was a mod would step in and either merge them, or lock all but one.
And yes, at times Google it or search for it is the correct answer. How else does one learn but by research and coming to the answer. Getting handed the answer may allow someone to do something, but they have no idea why it was that way, nor in many cases how to fix something if it occurs later. By looking for the answer ave finding it, the person is generally better able to help themselves later on.

People get way too worked up over these forums. The whole idea of forums is a way to exchange ideas and opinions, it is a guarantee that people will disagree or get mad. Yes there will be trolls and flamers. If this is too traumatizing, maybe just stick to published articles. To try and pretend you understand why a dev makes a personal decision over whether he is going to be associated with this site or not is a little ridiculous. I didn't read much of Chingy's threads, but BAMF's were overwhelmingly positive.
Also, not everybody spends 24x7 reading these threads, so if someone posts a thread slightly similar to an existing one I have no problem with it. The people who cry about this over and over again are worse than any trolls IMO. No one forces you to click on the thread and read it.

I agree with you. The way the members who have been on XDA over 6 months treat the newer members is ridiculous and some people never have anything positive to contribute and just browse XDA to piss on the posts and threads of others. I for one used to tell people all the time that they've posted in the wrong thread but realized that it: 1) wasn't my job to police the threads: 2) It did nothing but spread negative energy, so I learned to ignore them. Making other members feel like dopes is extremely counter productive.
Just as a side, no one knows what the future will bring and in my opinion XDA will be fine. When I had the captivate one of the favorite developers over there (DG) left for a little while and everyone thought the sky was falling, he eventually came back stronger. I'm not saying that team bamf will return, but hey, you never know.

Someone says "Hey, I'm having problem A" and within 15 minutes you have either 1) 13 replies of "+1 lol, 10Chars" or 2) 13 replies of "Why didn't you search you idiot. You're so noob".
So now, we've bumped an entire page of useless garbage. Now me personally, I won't read back more than 2 or 3 pages when I check our threads in the morning, so what happens to the legitimate question? It get's lost in the BS.
I get that XDA has grown probably far more than ever anticipated and it requires tons of moderators and maintenance, but how can KernelRapist be ok, but I can't put "I love Jesus" in my sig? Anyway, I miss the old XDA, and maybe it will be back some day, but for now, I'll lurk, but you'll see me over at the Team BAMF forums.

I originally posted this over in the 1.8.6 Thread in response to someone's mindless banter about us leaving because our feelings were hurt or whatever.
Although I can't speak for everyone, the above is why I'm leaving. XDA has become one huge flame war and a place for "kids" to vent their rage. I use quotations, because I mean kids mentally, regardless of age. Some of the most talented and respectful people I have met on these forums are still teenagers and then on the flipside I find out some foul mouthed flamer is a 40 something with 3 kids.
Although this isn't true of every device's forums, I'm seeing it in more and more of them at time progresses. Like I said above, I'll still lurk, as will most of the team most likely. We do still have a lot of friends on other devices over here, but it's just too much nonsense to sift through to progress our development any further in this environment.

I originally posted this over in the 1.8.6 Thread in response to someone's mindless banter about us leaving because our feelings were hurt or whatever.
Although I can't speak for everyone, the above is why I'm leaving. XDA has become one huge flame war and a place for "kids" to vent their rage. I use quotations, because I mean kids mentally, regardless of age. Some of the most talented and respectful people I have met on these forums are still teenagers and then on the flipside I find out some foul mouthed flamer is a 40 something with 3 kids.
Although this isn't true of every device's forums, I'm seeing it in more and more of them at time progresses. Like I said above, I'll still lurk, as will most of the team most likely. We do still have a lot of friends on other devices over here, but it's just too much nonsense to sift through to progress our development any further in this environment.

My point is that this community is here to help each other get the most out of their technology. There are many of us who sincerely attempt to answer questions and help people troubleshoot, not to mention the developers that put in long hours making these phones more useable.
But I've been reading post after post and thread after thead of just whining and its downright childish and non-productive.
If someone has an issue with their phone then let them post and ask questions and contribute to the overall conversation we're all having. All of this self-entitled nonsense about how bad we've ALL been screwed over and how we deserve this and that is uncalled for.

I agree completely with this.
It really makes it super hard to find the legitimate and worthwhile information here(which is plentiful) with all these people looking for controversy and negativity is just not constructive at all. There's a treasure trove of information here hidden within a good ole' fashioned internet "I AM A ENTHUSTIAST AND THIS DOESN"T STACK UP" circle jerk.

I haven't checked out "Quit Your *****in'" post, but I can agree that it is getting really annoying. If your gonna ***** then please feel free to do so in one post and stop making post after post about the same thing. I purposely did not check out a lot of the post complaining about the G2x because I'm personally not facing any of these issues especially since the update. The only issue I am having is the stock camera being dark instead of LG's original camera, so what post do you think I constantly look into? FLAK0's post about porting LG's Camera to Gingerbread. PLEASE LETS FIND A POST THAT FITS YOUR ISSUE AND STICK TO IT! THERE'S TONS OF REPEAT POST SO I AM SURE YOU WON'T HAVE A PROBLEM FINDING YOUR FIX.

Ever phone thread has there core group of whiners....most of the whiners are people who refuse to flash any of the roms or fixes and complain mostly about issues with th stock rom or they complain about how long the next update is taking......I wish this site allowed only those who take advantage of this sites offerings instead of allowing a platform for people to cry

Lol its a beautiful day in Orlando. I'm great to be honest. And I actually am usually not so bothered by other's complaints, especially not to the point of starting a new thread. I think I've only started one other thread on here and it was about features and tips on using the phone. But there has just been something about the way everyone here keeps talking about the G2X that drives me nuts (that reminds me of a pirate joke of you ever want to hear it). A good constructive complaint is actually helpful but most of what has been posted here, especially since this update started rolling out, has been pathetic whining from people about how T-Mobile and LG have F'd them all and how they are entitled to some sort of retribution. It really is nonsense.
The G2X is one of the fastest and most powerful phones on the market. It had some hiccups at first but its getting better. The software update came out fairly quickly in my opinion. And we have greet dev support for this phone. I don't see much to complain about. No product is perfect, ever. That's why you modify and make it your own and figure out how to improve it to suit your own needs.
Do I let people get to me usually? No. But it is getting out of hand here. Maybe me posting this doesn't help a thing but maybe someone will read it and take a step back and look at how awesome this phone really is.

Yep it's an awesome phone alright. I do agree. But took me five to get a good one.
And there are still many people out there with defective phones.
I say again. IMO, you people who are complaining about the whiners are bigger whiners. This qualifies as needless harassment of people who are just trying to get some straight answers about their phones.
If you go to the LG site, you will see that the responses to legitmate questions are still being ignored. There are still many people who cannot download the update at all. The camera is screwed up ? It's a failure when so many people are having problems. It looks to me like the ones that are bad in the first place are still not working after the update.
I resent my fellow xdaers attacking me and others and I resent the name calling. I sincerely feel that all of you making these comments are worse than me who is simply standing up for my rights. If you want to be an apologist who thinks because you have a good phone or few problems the rest of us should just roll over that's fine. But I stand by my opinions. And I'll continue to patricipate in the discussions which is my right and prerorative.
Bottom line? Polls are still being made that show the rate of unhappiness or bad phones is at least 2 out of 3 or worse.
And sorry, but I still think that each of you who continues to dog people are the biggest jerks here . Why don't you just SHUT THE HELL UP. You've all repeated it over and over. I get it, you think I'm a jerk. I think you're jerks. And every time you call me a jerk, I'll just keep calling you one. You want to act like a child, I'll play.

Ok I'm a newer member here, but not to hacking and yes I posted a thread yesterday about the HTC reps givin the ok to state that the Thunderbolt would be getting Gingerbread in the 3rd quarter. I only put it up because it was being reported on other forums and maybe just maybe someone would care....

You cant post on the Development board unless you have 10 post???So how does somebody get thier if the put up something and it's slamed all over. this is exactly what I'm talking about, there isn't much info here anymore they all took it to other sights. I'm pretty laid back personaly but I had to have a say about what I've seen here since March when I got my Thunderbolt..I*'m not complaining just stating facts and it seems that alot of people agree..

I don't remember reading anything anywhere that stated you had the authority to say who can/cannot post here, or whether or not they should "go somewhere else."
The OP makes a good point. What's worse, someone making an observation that might help others think twice before they slam someone, or someone replying to a post with no other motive than to play king and tell someone s/he is stupid and telling s/he to go somewhere else?
It's pretty obvious which is the more mature of the two methods.
There have been times where I thought someone's information was lacking credibility. I've asked questions, but haven't taken cheap shots. What's the point?

I have seen some extremely helpful people on here thats why i come here. I do go to other forums for some things because thats where the dev's for certain things went. Some people have been treated very unfairly on this forum and no it shouldn't be like that. Personally I have had people say stupid stuff to me but in the end ya gotta realize with this many people on here there are bound to be those with no social skills at all who's intellectual capacity goes just below the Waterboy. Block em, bleep em or beat em with your own wit. I realize that being on any forum and in fact just being on the internet means there are those who take on internet personas of being the baddest dude in the world. Fuhgeddaboutit. If thats what a person has to do to make themselves feel better i make my comments then i talk around them. Ya know, its not so much we just wanna beat on a guy. It's that SO MANY threads have been started. Last time the gullible fool even posted a link to a pic to the absolute fakest looking "corporate memo" I'd ever seen. A lot of people were lapping that crap up and I called them idiots then. Some people actually believed a Verizon rep posted in this forum earlier this week too. Uh.... No, that didn't happen either. Between threads like "Verizon says gingerbread is coming!" threads and the horribly mangled English so often used, I'm beginning to think forums in general are magnets for the least intelligent forms of life walking upright. It's not just Android forums. It's forums on just about every subject imaginable. I think its because nobody ever calls someone stupid when they say something really stupid. A great way to flush your credibility down the toilet is to post a thread like you did. XDA is XDA because they tend to hold themselves to a higher standard. Go look at most other android forums. Most of the development threads are copy and pastes of XDA threads. That's not changing. I'm gonna ask real nice that you please think real hard about what you post here. Maybe check to see how many threads exactly like your proposed thread already exist. Lots of people post questions and comments all the time to good reception. It really is just the foolish nature of your subject matter.

I don't jack people off with their own ass-backwards ideas just to get along. I don't say anything here I wouldn't say to your face. Not all ideas are valid and worthy of equal consideration. Stupid NEEDS to be called stupid and made fun of. I'd like to live in a world where when stupid people spoke they got laughed out of the room. I can hardly believe people buy some of the insanity and lies they're sold most of the time.
I'm new to posting myself... I've been waiting in the weeds for sometime now, reading the thread for Synergy ROM for a long time. I've got only 4 or 5 posts as well. So far, I haven't had any bad reactions to posts, PM's or even contacting one of the Devs on G+ for the only issue I couldn't manage to figure out on my own.
To the OP:
Try to remember where you are when you post. You are in a forum that is populated with many experienced, sharp people, who know a great deal about this platform. Those that are the MOST knowledgeable typically don't even post. It's those who *think* they know a lot who do. Sadly, uninformed questions do not simply get ignored. Think of it as walking into a medical convention and asking a large population of surgeons why anesthesia is necessary during surgery. They expect that you know some minimal facts before asking a question.
Sadly, these same intelligent people browse the General and QandA sections for posts such as yours to flame you for no reason. Not everyone here is that way, but clearly there are many.
I lurked here for a year, before ever signing up and posting anything simply because it was clear some knowlege is necessary to root, mod, theme and customize your phone. And it was clear that many of my questions had already been answered simply by looking.
Don't get discouraged, read, then read some more. There is a lot to learn, but most of it isn't that hard. And don't pay any attention to the negativity - it only feeds the problem.

I can't stand to read this site these days. Everytime there's a post some self important ass has to jump and tell the person posting just how stupid they are for making the post. If you xda experts don't want to the rest if us here then lock it down. It would be no great loss. There's nothing here that can't be found in 100 other places.
For some reason this site seems to encourage rude moderators that love to trash people especially if someone failed to find existing threads using the terrible search tools provided. Maybe xda just can't carry the weight created by its success. One thing is sure and that is if it doesn't change a lot of people with go elsewhere....

Thanks for the hug... It's not about me I can hold my own and enjoy giving it back. What bothers me is when someone clearly struggling to post and is asking for hlep (And English may not even be their language) then one of these dicks trashes them. I just looked at one where a guy asked how to find a specific item, he got an answer that said check the xxxxx forum and we are not your slave so don't expect us to do it for you. Who talks like that and why aren't they stomped on for acting that way. He gave an answer then added the boot. I see that everywhere here.
The people who respond here do it for their own reasons. It's nice when people help and I have found some helpful threads. Still when I see stuff like the one above I start to think there are people here who get off on acting that way. Being a developer doesn't mean doing sick stuff is OK.

While I don't agree with people being rude please understand that this is a developers site. Not a tech support site, not a rom flashing site, and not a cool place to be site. It was made by developers for developers. And sometimes people can get rude. That is what the report button is for.
I like this site, and the way I see it,
They are sick of repeat posts, it's like people aren't bothering even looking anymore for what they need, they just post... As I have made that mistake a few times... That said i my self use the Site for my personal use or for the work I do but I ALWAYS give credit where it counts and is a great site for this Canadian to learn the ways of the DROID...
Also i mean maybe some devs like to poke fun, maybe they are tired of people taking time away from thier great works... Who knows, I talk to, a few decent people on here and have learnt alot and intended on learning more when my desktop is back up and running...

i agree, xda really needs a douchee button. im also new here, but i been using the forums for a while, just rencently registered and i have gotten all the info i need, so basicly yes, the douches are somewhat right, but they should just say it a little more politely
I just saying that there is no excuse for treating posters badly. I've been a registered user for more than a year but I find myself coming here less and less because I can find as good or better info on other sites and most don't have the xda attitude.
I want to be clear that most people don't act this way and that plenty of nice helpful people respond here every day. The point I'm making is that there are a few that need to be cleaned up. I hadn't thought of the report button but in the future I will use it freely. Maybe that will get the attention of the powers that be.
It would be interesting to start a thread on the xda **** of the day. People could cut and paste insulting behavior into the thread including the name of the poster. Every day/week members could vote. I bet it would dry up fast....:thumbup:

Makes me laugh when people chant that mantra of "this is a developers site. Not a tech support site, not a rom flashing site......". maybe when the site was made 5,6 years ago it was a developers site. But things grow and evolve as is in the human nature. XDA has evolved into more than just a Dev site, its a site for development, education and learning.
It amuses me when people try to alienate the devs from the users. Don't give excuses for rude or egotistical people, if someone is in doubt, use your knowledge to help him or shut up. afterall, the great devs of today all learnt from scratch. Nobody was born with code in their brain from the womb (except chuck norris ). Because the way this site is going its going to drive users away from its fold.
And when you succeed in alienating the noobs, and xda becomes a dev-only site, who will test the bugs in the developers' software? how will developed apps get publicity? I know some devs who've made alot of money from donations for their software; heck, this site's servers are supported by donations from users.
XDA is a leader in development and mobile collaboration and we've seen the amount of clout and influence XDA has, the mobile companies HTC,Samsung, motorola all hear the voice of XDA (as evidenced by htc's bootloader unlocking, htc dev, making motorola answer for locking bootloaders) but dont think that XDA will have such influence if all of the over 4 million users are gone and like 1000 developers ( if they are even that many) remain.
Also I'm not excusing some very stupid people who ask the wrong questions, and don't follow rules.for example, I only registered here last year but I've followed this site for 3 years. If I had a problem, I also come here to search and I always got my answer. I only had to register when I got the lenovo thinkpad, which didn't have any active development forum so I could post a question. So I guess I'm one of those who likes to search before posting.
The summary of everything I just said is help people who are truly in need of it, (not the silly ones) and XDA isn't a dev only site.

Well I disagree on this one point, if they don't take the time to try and look it up and find it on their own it does give you the right to be a little rude, because that's pretty rude of them, expecting you to take time out of your day to give them an answer when they don't take any of their own time to even try..but, of course, I'm not in favor of going crazy on them..just enough let them know that's unacceptable
I don't like rude people too, and I met quite a few here...
I do am agree thus, that newcomers should look VERY well into the proper thread and all over XDA site.
I like to help when I can and if I can, but I have seen more and more often people asking simple questions like:
"someone can show me some guide?" or " does an xperia thread exist?"
Well don't need help really for this question, is just enough to search..
I guess developers or user generally can get tired of this.
However I am agree that some users normally answer by jokes or in a rude way, although people like this could be everywhere..
Sometimes you have to be rude to let people know they should google first before they post a question

I think most users dont consider themselves entitled or expect any helpful posts in regards to their questions, I'm sure they're just hoping someone can point them into the right direction. I've searched and gathered everything I needed to know myself but its not like I ever expected another user to help me. I figure if users want to help other users, awesome, but don't give attitude when doing so.

I understand but to a point, there's no need to curse at someone and be rude just because he asked a question even if its been asked before a 1000 times, if you don't like the question he asked then don't answer it, I see that a lot on here, noob ask a question then gets an answer "why do you ask so many questions?" I thought to myself why does it matter to you its a q&a forum, just skip over the post or answer the question with some respect without rude remarks
