So I got drunk the other night and somehow I lost the back battery cover to my N1. Anyone know where I can get a replacement?
I found them on ebay awhile back... keep meaning to order a new one for my phone (got extremely scratched up).
Look here.
Next time don't drink and drive Nexus One

Any experience with the powerskin? Any other alternatives? I really am looking for a case with extra battery and not just extra batteries or a different back cover. I like the idea of a case/battery combo.

I know some people who use it and it works for them but a lot of the reviews say it stops charging after a few months...
For the same price you can get the sedio 3800mah battery (60$ ) and then get the case for the extended battery also from sedio (20$ ) which might be a little bit more reliable..
Iirc, the phone won't deep sleep with the powerskin. You don't even need a battery that big. Nexus extended is far more than enough. You don't need one at all. I run 24 hours plus on stock with over 5 hours screen on, gtalk and text all day, emails, fb, weather, words with friends, stream music, and more.
With the nexus extended I'd need a new cover? If so, are there cases that accomdate for the new back cover?

You don't need a new cover. The battery might fit great, it might bulge. definitely didn't need a new case and my cover does bulge slightly

That battery is awesome. I've had it for two days now. I am a moderate to heavy phone user, and it is sitting at 43% after 15 hours of being unplugged. 40% of that is screen time.
I had the power skin, worked great for awhile but now the USB cord on the bottom to connect to the phone stopped working. I could probably have it serviced under warranty but....yeah don't want to bother it wasn't that good

I am on my 4th Powerskin for my SR in less than two months. They either die and stop working or the charging port gets worn down so it only makes contact when you hold it and put pressure on it. It is realistically about an extra 75% added to your battery, but your phone uses it to stay 100% charged so none of your battery saving features work. Would recommend a larger replacement battery over a case battery. I ended up buying extra andido batteries off amazon and plan on giving that a try over this.
I bought it at AT&T so they keep giving me replacements but will not give me a refund.
Do not recommend.
On my 2nd powerskin and it along with the 1st one stopped recharging......waste of time. Plus it makes it bulky.
I went through two of them. The last one overheated my phone and killed it :-( at&t gave me a new phone and I changed to an otter box.

I was climbing a 65 foot route today when my S4 Active slipped out of my pocket. Why I had it in there in the first place is a lesson I should never had to learn... Needless to say, it was there and it fell out from about 50 feet up. Remarkably, I watched as it bounced off the limestone shelf below me and bounce up about 8 feet in the air before sailing off down to the scree slope below. Upon initial impact, the back and battery came off and went in completely different directions. I was able to locate the back, but not the battery. Using my wife's battery (she has the same phone), I re-assembled and voila!! It started right up!! Everything seems to be working (so far)! Talk about a rugged phone!!
So... This leaves me without a battery. Where should I pick one up? AT&T store said they don't' stock them. The battery is a b600bu 2600 mAh.
Pics because it did happen. The last pic shows the approximate hight of the fall.

Ouch man, that sucks! But good to know it lived to fight another day. I dread the day when I will inevitably drop mine, but it most likely won't be 50 feet onto a limestone shelf XD
I ordered my batteries from Amazon.
I bought one of these- http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00BW0XZO0/
and one of these- http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00B26ZSL2
I swap between OEM batteries and the cheap ones are for backup.
Okay, first of all - GOD DAMN !
Second I kinda got a question. I see a huge ding on the plastic, do you see an impact zone actual overlap glass ( did actual glass got hit on impact) or it's just hit plastic part. Cause I am just trying to understand what is going on here. I know people that dropped SGS4 regular from pocket height and unit was cracked, some with same regular model managed to do gf wall aggro and nothing. Now this. Just trying to understand Glass and LCD, how different it in both units. And in your case , just change back, file plastic a bit or get a overlapping case and it's like new.

From what I have read the regular S4 has a small bezel that flexes on impact which makes the screen an easy target. This bezel is not only thicker but it goes a little bit before the glass meaning the plastic will hit the ground instead of the glas. This gives it a little more protection.
That is crazy and does my heart good to see it survive
I found Hyperion brand batteries on amazon
When I was younger, my remote controlled cars always ran longer on them. And they're water proof guaranteed.
2 for 20 + a separate charger just for the spare.
Plus their tech shop has a phone so you talk with engineers, which is pleasant.

Thats amazing on your drop....Hopefully that fall isn't a fluke, and these phones are a bit tougher than the average user is used to.
I got the Anker batteries for the GS4, but the batteries are slightly thicker...they will definitely work in the GS4 active, but i question if it will keep the waterproof seal intact. I plan on using the charger, with more oem samsung batteries.

you can buy them here... I've not yet ordered these though, so I cant personally vouch for them.

I was never comfortable with my regular old S4. Especially with reports of it breaking in peoples pockets with no trauma...
I'm glad to see the Active taking a huge hit and living. But I'm still putting a case on it.
Thanks for sharing.
you just got lucky, it all depends on the 'impact zone', I bet my life if the impact zone were the glass or corner the history will be different.

I guess that's exactly what I am wondering. I mean where are thouse drop tests when you need one. I mean that gorilla glass is perhaps more gorilla'sh
Do they make slightly thinner batteries? So it will make wireless charging less risky.

Yup, totally lucky. An impact on the screen would've surely destroyed it. As it is, there is a large dent in the back cover. I'll probably have to replace it. But, the story holds and I'm still impressed it survived the fall at all.
I picked up a battery from Batteries+. It does seem just a tiny bit bigger. I'll probably order the Samsung just to be safe.

How is the fit on the cheap ones? I heard the ankers are thicker so Im concerned about the seal?

Now that you bring it up, they are a little bit thicker than the stock battery, but the the cover seems to fit just fine. No clue about the seal, I have no intention of doing a dunk test to find out
Just dropped mine three feet and it cracked in two places. Just my luck lol.
No Offense... but I don't know how you guys do this. I have NEVER. EVER. Dropped a smartphone... let alone a cell phone... or cracked a screen. Since 1998...

Good thing now that you have the super dentable aluminum One. All of my friends that have Ones without cases already have dents in the frame. Lol.

Exactly. Fortunately I contacted the death star and they are shipping me a new one free of charge.
If you register your device on Samsung.com, they will send you a coupon for 50% off any accessory that is 49.99, all oem products. You may want to check that out as well.
I bought a Hyperion 3800 mAh battery a while back for my Verizon GNEX so that I would have a reasonable battery life with it. It came with a battery and new backplate. Well, I've had it in a Seidio Extended Battery case and haven't really been paying much attention to the back until I took it out a few weeks ago to reset it and I found out that the little tabs that hold the bottom of the back plate in place had snapped off or worn off at some point. No big deal since I keep it in the case and it holds everything together. Well this weekend I ordered a G2 and I plan on selling my GNEX and I didn't want to sell it to someone with a defective back plate so I contacted them about buying a replacement cover. They are shipping me one free of charge even thought I've had the battery for a while now. I thought that was pretty good. The Customer Service reps were very friendly as well.
Anyway, just wanted to give kudos to them since they have been so helpful with all of it! We see plenty of complaints about companies around here, I thought it would be nice to praise a company when they do something RIGHT!
Right on. I also like to give good feedback like that.

I bought a Pixel off eBay with insurance. About 6 months later the charging port started acting up and the battery would drain very quickly, even quicker when off. Contacted insurance and they gave me a gift card to ebay for the price of the phone, which I used to buy another phone. However, they let me keep the phone. I bought a charging port and battery and replaced them. The phone seems to be good as new. So I haven't glued the screen on yet (waiting on glue). Also, the old screen has a lot of glue all over it. I've also read a few posts where people say they've screwed their phone with the glue. So I'm kinda wondering if I should get a new screen with adhesive already on it. Anybody here "been there done that"? If so is the gluing pretty straightforward? Thanks
