So I recently updated my phone from android 2.2 to 2.3 but I decided to go back to 2.2. I used the stock tmobile firmware posted on a thread from this site aswell as a rom from wind mobile but both times after restore, everytime i get a message in yahoo messenger it uses my ringtone instead of yahoo's default. It works fine when I flash a bin but when i use a restore it doesnt work correctly.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have a Samsung Captivate running original Froyo but I think this issue is related to Android in general.
My phone in unlocked and I'm using it in Brazil, naturally not with AT&T.
No unofficial software is installed.
My issue is I don't have the "delivery report" option in message settings list, so I cannot set the phone to receive delivery reports when I send messages. This happens for SMS and MMS messages.
When I got this phone I kept the same simcard (line, plan, services and carrier). In my previous cell phone, it had this option which was set to enabled and used to work fine.
To re-check, I recently put my simcard in another phone and the option is there and works fine. So, the issue seems to be on the phone.
I've already tried Samsung support but it is completley useless!
I have already tried handcent, but delivery reports don't work very well.
I saw in XDA that there is a solution for Windows Mobile phones that consists in changing a value in the registry. Is there something similar for Android?
If not, is this related to the carrier or the phone/system ?

same problem
Try custom roms, im using a custom rom from http://romkitchen.org/sgs on my i9000 and i have an option for delivery reports in the menu.
custom roms don't support quickoffice, adobe air, adobe reader and bunch of other stuff.. so what the hell is going on with these idiots? can't they make a good original ROM? the original update doesn't even give the new type of screen unlocking feature and bottom bar.. though it gives some uglyass icons in settings-menu..
just hate them!
what did they update actually?
I have a problem with my DC. I am unable to get TouchWiz to display the Gmail unread email counter on the Gmail icon. I was running TouchWiz 4.5 and had no problem with the badge showing using Gmail version 2.3.4. When the new market force updated on my phone, it decided that it would force update to the 2.3.5 version of Gmail as well, even though I had auto update turned off for that. I rolled back to the default 2.3.2 that came with EE4.
Now, I don't know exactly when it quit working, or even if the 2.3.5 update/rollback had anything to do with it. Here's what I have done to try and get it back so far:
1) Roll back to TouchWiz 3.0
2) Tried clearing what data files I could find for TouchWiz (in data/data and data/dbdata)
3) Tried removing, rebooting then replacing the Gmail app
None of these things made a difference
Now, a few things to note:
1) The VVM and SMS counters work fine
2) Temporarily installing the SMS Unread Count widget confirms that Gmail is allowing 3rd party apps to access the counter
I would appreciate any help with this, as it is driving me nuts. I would also like to avoid a factory reset if possible.
Thanks in advance!
Now Gmail unread counter 2.0 new version. Works good with new Gmail app. You have to buy it on Market :-(
Hello, I am having some when I send my email it get stuck in the outbox. I tried clearing the cache and data on the gmail app and I was able to send one email and they problem started again. I rebooted the phone and still no luck. Can anybody help me out? I am running stock gingerbread rom.
edit: seems like the file might be too big...I sent another file no prob
just letting you know that you arent the only one. I'm rooted & tried on various roms and have had the same issue. I've also had it where it would send an email & it'll be marked as abdraft even though it went through.
I finally said f it and installed Boat Browser Mini w/ homepage set to gmail and just do it that way.
Ivenhad the same problem....especially after a nandroid restore.
This happens after most of my nandroid restores. It's a real PITA but go into settings, applications, gmail, and clear data. It syncs everything up again, but you will have to restore settings too (notification tones, font size, folder syncing, etc.) It sucks, but it works every time!

Hi All,
I got a used cappy, unlocked it and using it on Tmobile. It's a great phone and I like it a lot. However, got this issue with it.
I bought 2, 1 for wifey and 1 for me. Wife's phone, didnt touch anything and it is still running Eclair 2.1. It has background data off but both gmail and outlook emails work fine. Configured it for Push and as soon as she gets an email in outlook, she gets notification in her cappy.
Mine, I flashed a custom ROM (Fasty KK4 2.3.5) and it lost the capability to automatically push emails. If I open background data, I do get emails but once I turn if off, it cant push.
Is there any restriction on Android upwards of Eclair? I tried several ROMs but same problem. Any help would be really helpful.
Try Maildroid. It will push with background data, last i checked.

Thanks.
I did check that one and it worked as expected. It is free too which is defenitely a plus. However, I have 2 work emails and only one works with MailDroid. Other one doesnt at all but both worked without any issues in Eclair. Thought I'll post here to see if anyone else faced similar issues, and if possible get potential solutions for me.

Works fine with nougat
I installed that because that messenger is great. However I'm having an issue with MMS messages. It will show a message but it won't download it, tells me it's unavailable. Noticed that on some old messages as soon as I get to a picture in some of them, it crashes.
For MMS on Android 7 mobile data must be always on. I had the same problem and i wrote to support Asus. I got that answer. For me is not normal and I must back to the Android 6
Is that stable for nougat last update?
