[Q] Flashing Triangle after repair from Samsung. - Verizon Droid Charge

First off, thanks for xda. Favorite place for Android information. Droid charge is my 4th android phone and my knowledge of these phones isnt the greatest. Most I do is root and rom thanks to your guides.
Well anyways I just got my phone back from samsung after they repaired my Charge. It was in a boot loop, tried using CWR to install other roms but always stuck at samsung screen. Well I sent it in after unrooting and putting the stock rom back on. Here is what samsung said they did.

Well phone is working fine except the flashing triangle icon was on it, even with the stock factory rom. I romed humble 5.0 and the icon is still there. After research it appears its that I'm roaming, which im not. Same place I always lived. So I figured something maybe is wrong with my SIM card, so i took my girlfriend's Thunderbolt and swapped SIMs to test. My Charge still showed that icon while the Thunderbolt was fine. Is there any solution to this icon? Its rather annoying, a message pops up when doing certain things warning me that I am roaming and I should be careful of additional fees.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I randomly get this while 2 other charges that I'm next to don't.

It is 100% of the time though.

this may be late but I have the same issue. I sent it in again to fix this issue and it still came back with the blinking roaming triangle. Anyone that has had this ever had the issue resolved?

[Q] Intermittent "not registered on network"

Hello people. I searched for info on this issue, but nothing for the Captivate came up. Intermittently I'll wake my phone up and there will be a little circle with a line through it where there should be network info. Anything I try to do with the network pops up a "Not registered on network" (or something like that) message. Usually rebooting the phone will solve the problem, but last weekend after three reboots it was still doing it. I left my house and an hour later checked it and no circle/line icon. This happens every several days, so not a chronic problem yet. Still very annoying. Any solutions? Thanks.
Stock Captivate.
I would consider warranty return if it were me I havent seen or heard of this before your post. good luck.
I have a stock captivate and let's just say I am incredibly disappointed and annoyed with it and at&t in general I'm tired of all the run around and hold up concerning froyo, but this isn't the thread for that.
My phone has been glitchy since the get go. The newest is the issue with "not registered on network". It has happened off and on, but a couple days ago, after I had turned the phone off for the night and back on, the phone screen blanked out while the bottom touch panel stayed lit and everything became totally unresponsive. After several reboots by removing the battery, my screen finally came up again, but so did that little blue circle and line...voila..."not registered on network"
The guy in tech support from at&t tried to help me out. He stayed on the phone with me for over 2 hrs trying to correct the issue, but even after a factory wipe...nada. Lost all my apps, free and purchased... if we would have froyo like promised, all my apps would have been backed up...UGH...
This is actually my third captivate in as many months. My first phone bricked itself after 2 days. No one could ever figure out why. I am waiting on a replacement as we speak. Of course my "new" phone is being replaced with a refurbished one. I hate that considering my current phone was only 3 months old and didn't have a mark on it, but what can I do?
because you don't mention if you're running stock or a custom ROM, I'm going to assume custom ROM. and if you are, then you must have not searched very hard because this is already a semi-known issue: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=864903
it happens to me ANY time I use a modem newer than JK3... when I use UGJK3 or older, no problems... but if I use UGJK4 or newer, random "no service" on the lock screen with the "circle with a line through it" in the notification bar. as of right now (I believe) there's no known issue why some modems fail on only some hardware. I have a batch 1006 and it works fine right up until the UGJK3 modem, while some people seem to have absolutely no issues with modems (even the newest ones like UGJL2 and TLJL3). basically, if you're running a JPY based ROM, flash JK3 and see if that helps... if that doesn't, go back to a stock captivate ROM of some sort with a stock modem so you don't have these issues (never happened to be me on JI6/JJ4)
Try changing ur SIM card. That could solve the issue.
In my case, it is original stock all the way. The SIM card is fine because I switched it into two different at&t phones and had no issues at all. Right now my Captivate is a gloried camera and MP3 player.
I forgot to subscribe to my own stinking thread! I know this is stale now, but here goes.
I'm running stock froyo, rooted. At the time of the original post I was using it completely stock on eclair. Shortly after the post, it stopped happening and haven't had issues since. I still don't know what caused it. Thanks for all the input though.

Happened to me a year or so ago on a different phone. Turned out they were upgrading the tower closest to me with new hardware and were shutting it down intermittently to work on it.

[Q] Need Help

I have a 2 month old AT&T Captivate and about a month ago I loaded the Andromeda v2.0 MOD and love it. Everything was working fine until about a week ago when my external speaker stopped working. I turned to the Andromeda programmers and one of them had me upgrade to v1.2 but that didn't help and they helped me downgrade back to stock so I can turn the phone back to AT&T.
But along the way something happened and now the AT&T white flash screen just flashes on and off every two seconds. I've tried every process on this web site including building a JIG to force the phone into download mode but that didn't work either.
It's now in what I'm told is Bootloop. Does anyone have any idea how to get this crippled Captivate back to stock?
Thank you.
If it is just stuck at the white screen, take it back to AT&T for a warranty replacement. Tell them that you were trying to upgrade it to KB1 Froyo through Kies, when it failed. A bit unethical, I know, but the phone was going to go back anyway for the speaker issue.

Sim frying, over heating, connection loosing, SAMSUNG SERVICE!!!

ok so i was running EP1f and had no major complaints (buttons didnt back light) so when i EP1W came out i ended up running it and absolutely loved it! everything worked and i actually liked my phone with the exception of loosing the stock basic android keyboard that was in EP1F (not the samsung added crap or the one in the market) but after about 2-3 weeks on EP1W i started having huge overheating issues and then i couldn't connect to any data (LTE, CDMA,WIFI) and then guess what!?! my phone decided that it wouldn't recognize the sim card so i truck down to verizon and get a new sim and no sooner than i walk out of the store does my phone decide that that sim isnt good enough either! so i get another new sim card and head home reflash back to stock 2.2 and still no data ability and the sim card malfunctions... verizon was clueless and refereed me to samsung who promptly wanted the phone back!
anyone else have anything like this ?
Eh. It happens. Just back up all your stuff, restock it, and get Sammy to send you a replacement.

Yep, already did.. samsung is much easier to deal with than moto!
I've been getting alot of overheating here lately and don't know why. Do I just call the Samsung customer service people?

Why would you want to stay away? It's not your fault the phone is having problems.
Sent from my SCH-I510 using xda premium
Well i'm coming from the Fascinate and got a replacement DC and that one had USB problems, then #2 upon first boot had lockups and reboots. Tried to rom it and that didn't help at all. And the DC I have now overheats and becomes unresponsive to touch when charging. So in short I'm tired of replacements and would like a brand new DC, but that won't happen.

I'd stay away from verizon too and go thru the manufacturer. Verizon does in house "refurbishing" sometimes. Someone gets their phone replaced>defective phone goes back to warehouse>warehouse does in house testing - doesn't find an issue, though truly defective>warehouse deems defective device "no trouble found">defective device goes back into stock and eventually out to another consumer as a replacement>consumer has issue with that device. And this cycle can repeat countless times.

i had that issue with my OG droid... i had 8 or 9 in less than a year... finally went to MOTO and they gave me a whole lot of hell but finally after 6 months of fighting they gave me a D2G which i keep as a back up... as for samsung i called and within 5 min they had emailed me shipping labels and set up my repair ticket...
Now with Samsung is it like VZW where they send out a replacement first and then I return the defective one? And you think they would send a new one instead of a owned one?. I swear we need a Carfax of sorts for these phones lol.

[Q] Phone is DEAD!

My phone will not switch on. The battery is fully charged, i checked it with a reliable voltmeter and it read 3.7 volts. I put a different working battery from a different working sensation and still nothing. The led does not come on when i connect it to the charger and i am losing patience.
The back story is, yesterday i flashed SENSEay onto my phone and all was good. I used titanium to restore the apps, no data, I made a backup and left the phone alone for a while. I decided later on that i was going to play a game of samurai vengeance, but to do so i had to install chainfire3d. I did this and tried to install the beta part of chainfire, unfortunately this caused a bootloop. I pulled the battery and went into recovery to restore, restore went fine and my phone was back to working. Before i went to bed i put my phone on charge and when i woke this morning the bugger would not switch on. Because it has happened during the night i have no idea what occurred to kill it, all i do know is that no-one else has played with it. What the hell has happened to my phone?
All help will be gratefully accepted.
Your in the same boat as me buddy
I started going through the same issue yesterday, finally gave up and called HTC. Your phone (like mine) should still be under factory warranty with HTc so they are willing to fix it for free. I am gonna send mine in but am hesitant because idk if they will be able to tell if its rooted or not.
I have no idea if they will be able to tell if its rooted. What have you tried to get your phone to power on? Most threads with similar problems seem to be battery related, but thats not the case with my phone.

Infuse 4g suddenly has no internet reception on cynogenmod 7

Hello everyone, I did do a search for my issue but found no solutions so I'm hoping someone out there can help me.
Phone: Samsung Infuse 4G on AT&T running Cyanogenmod 7
I just very recently started messing around with custom ROMs so bear with me. I may use some wrong terminology out of sheer noobness. Feel free to correct me.
A few days ago I put my phone to stock Froyo using GTG's ultimate un-brick. I did this because I wanted a fresh start. I didn't care If I lost my apps, I wanted to start over anyways.
I then rooted using SuperOneClick, and installed CWM using ROM Manager.
I then flashed Cyanogenmod 7 to my phone.
Everything was going great. Pretty much everything worked on the ROM and I was having a great time playing around with it and getting everything set up how I liked it....
until this morning.
I woke up, checked facebook using H+, so I know it was connected to the internet this morning, and then the next time I picked my phone up, it wouldn't connect to the internet! I didn't change any settings or anything between when it was working and when it stopped working. I did have Juice defender installed and if you have ever used that, it has a little shield icon in the status bar that tells you what it is disabling to conserve battery. It had a red circle next to it, indicating that it was disabling my internet. The drop-down also said something like "Data Disabled - (Data/User)"
So I tried disabling Juice defender. No luck. I completely uninstalled Juice defender and rebooted. Still no luck. The only change I had made to my phone recently was installing some crappy N64 emulator, so i uninstalled and rebooted, still no luck. I rebooted into recovery and cleared my cache. Still nothing.
So I'm kinda stuck. My internet suddenly decided not to work and I've tried everything I can think of trying short of going back to the stock ROM and doing it all over again.
So does anyone have any advice to offer?
P.S. - My phone signal works fine. I can send texts and make calls, I just cant get on the internet. No, I'm not in flight mode! :good:
Let me know if you need any other info to diagnose this issue. I've provided everything I can think of but I'm sure I'm missing something.
Also a completely unrelated issue: When I'm using my phone and plug it into a wall charger it becomes unbearably laggy. frame rate is in the single digits, buttons don't respond, etc. Any idea on that either?
Try getting rid of rom manager. I heard its borked. Go back to stock and flash the froyo community kernel through froyo. You can find it on the super everything thread. (That thread is stickied I believe)
That will give you cwm and from there you are good to go.
As far as the charging thing, my phone and my wife's phone does the same thing since the charger that came with my phone broke. Try a different charger.
