Infuse 4g suddenly has no internet reception on cynogenmod 7 - Samsung Infuse 4G

Hello everyone, I did do a search for my issue but found no solutions so I'm hoping someone out there can help me.
Phone: Samsung Infuse 4G on AT&T running Cyanogenmod 7
I just very recently started messing around with custom ROMs so bear with me. I may use some wrong terminology out of sheer noobness. Feel free to correct me.
A few days ago I put my phone to stock Froyo using GTG's ultimate un-brick. I did this because I wanted a fresh start. I didn't care If I lost my apps, I wanted to start over anyways.
I then rooted using SuperOneClick, and installed CWM using ROM Manager.
I then flashed Cyanogenmod 7 to my phone.
Everything was going great. Pretty much everything worked on the ROM and I was having a great time playing around with it and getting everything set up how I liked it....
until this morning.
I woke up, checked facebook using H+, so I know it was connected to the internet this morning, and then the next time I picked my phone up, it wouldn't connect to the internet! I didn't change any settings or anything between when it was working and when it stopped working. I did have Juice defender installed and if you have ever used that, it has a little shield icon in the status bar that tells you what it is disabling to conserve battery. It had a red circle next to it, indicating that it was disabling my internet. The drop-down also said something like "Data Disabled - (Data/User)"
So I tried disabling Juice defender. No luck. I completely uninstalled Juice defender and rebooted. Still no luck. The only change I had made to my phone recently was installing some crappy N64 emulator, so i uninstalled and rebooted, still no luck. I rebooted into recovery and cleared my cache. Still nothing.
So I'm kinda stuck. My internet suddenly decided not to work and I've tried everything I can think of trying short of going back to the stock ROM and doing it all over again.
So does anyone have any advice to offer?
P.S. - My phone signal works fine. I can send texts and make calls, I just cant get on the internet. No, I'm not in flight mode! :good:
Let me know if you need any other info to diagnose this issue. I've provided everything I can think of but I'm sure I'm missing something.

Also a completely unrelated issue: When I'm using my phone and plug it into a wall charger it becomes unbearably laggy. frame rate is in the single digits, buttons don't respond, etc. Any idea on that either?

Try getting rid of rom manager. I heard its borked. Go back to stock and flash the froyo community kernel through froyo. You can find it on the super everything thread. (That thread is stickied I believe)
That will give you cwm and from there you are good to go.
As far as the charging thing, my phone and my wife's phone does the same thing since the charger that came with my phone broke. Try a different charger.

[Q] Stock myTouch 4g, 100% CPU

Hi All,
I have a mt4g which is rooted with S=Off. I switch between the Sense launcher and Launcher Pro Plus. Usual apps on the phone, not too many.
For last week or so, I have been seeing that sometimes the phone gets really really laggy and Norton Util tells me that the CPU is 100%.
Also, I think most of the times, when this happens, I see a Sync icon up top. I do not sync a lot, just 2 GMail Inboxes and weather (every 6 hours). But I do see that Sync icon most of the times when this lagging happens.
I have tried removing apps, but this still seems to be a problem. I have see somewhere that turning the USB debugging to ON has helped many, but did not work for me.
I tried CM7 RC1 when it was out, but didnt like it (stock camera etc...) and I restored back to my stock ROM. Could this have done something?
Thanks
Ravneet
On your home screen hit menu key. Go to settings. Select accounts and sync. See what all is listed there. Chances are something with sense is constantly syncing.
Disable everything from syncing. See if the problem goes away. If so turn on one thing at a time until you find the culprit.
Hope that puts you in the right direction.

Have tried that. When I go there nothing is synching. Strange.
I have tried to remove all accounts from synch but still see the problem.
Went into recovery and wiped the cache about a hour ago. So far so good. Hope it stays this way.

I've noticed that there are apps that as soon as i download them, and open them that my cpu will go to 100% until I reboot my phone. System panel is a good app that isn't too obtrusive that will tell you exactly what app is doing what.
Have you installed anything new lately?
I uninstalled everything new.
Moreover I think every time this happens the battery is less than 30%. Maybe in low battery profile there are some apps which are over utilizing the CPU.

There's a couple threads like this. The stock Rom seems to have issues running rooted. Best bet would be to flash a different rom

Turn on USB Debugging... See if that does anything
USB debugging is set to ON.

@NicGraner: Why would the stock ROM have problems with being rooted?
I am still having this problem. Uninstalled everything that is not important.
The phone just becomes unusable and I have to reboot. Un-installed Watchdog Lite too, as I thought since it is monitoring, it is taking up some CPU in background too.
No widgets on the home screens.
I guess I am gonna do a full refresh using the PDxxx.zip and go back to stock stock and then see what happens. not sure if I will lose my root once I do that.
Try the royal glacier rom it's solid stable and the sh!t
http://www.thepetitionsite.com/2/stop-t-mobile-from-being-bought-by-att/.......
I returned 5 phones for this exact problem, then I finally got one where the usb debugging trick actually worked. Before that I was just using OSmonitor from the market to see when I was hitting 100% then I would have to yank the battery as that was the only thing that would make it stop.
When I got this new phone I installed os monitor and waited for it to happen again, which it did, then I turned on usb debugging and watched my cpu usage graph drop to 0%. SUCCESS! Unfortunately since this was my 6th phone this solution seems to be the exception rather than the rule.
I did a lot of poking around on google trying to fix this and found a lot of people with different results. Try disabling t mobile sync and go to the myaccount app in the market and uninstall the updates. If that doesn't work try getting a new sim card and sd card, or just keep returning phones until t mobile offers to send you a g2x...
Also if you search around you'll see that this isn't just a problem with the mt4g. I found multiple threads where this happens on the nexus one, and several galaxy s phones. I really hope google is aware of this.

@johnsmith970: Thanks for the info. I will try calling TMO tonight and see what they say.
I am really bugged by this now. The phone gets totally unusable once this happens.
They will say to do a factory reset. Every tech support person I talked to told me to do that. This didn't solve the problem for me at all. It still exhibited the same symptoms on a fresh reset and not even signed in to google.
I would advise calling htc support just to let them know you are having this problem. Sending back a half a dozen phones per customer can't be good for anyones wallet or their peace of mind.

I have no idea why the stock rom doesn't like being rooted it's just what's been said and the solution which is most widely given (and mostly worked unless theres an underlying problem) is to flash a custom rom.
OK! I have more information for anyone interested.
I am tracking processes now in OS Monitor app from Market.
Most of the times it is the bluetooth daemon (bluetoothd) that goes bonkers. I was connected to my GPS in my car while driving, and when I came out of the car...the bluetoothd is going bonkers...looks like it may be trying to 'find' the device it was connected to. At the same time logcat2 process is also utilizing 30+% of the CPU.
I turned off Bluetooth and both the processes went away
So let me see if this sticks for couple of days.
Thanks

I wasn't even rooted.
If you want to keep stock rom this is what I did and its absolutely solid.
Install this stock rom:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1042586
After installing this rom flash faux123 first time kernel. After its all booted up reboot back into recovery and flash faux123 cfs rc3 kernel. I have my cpu set at 1200mhz and everything is gravy.

[Q] Phone is DEAD!

My phone will not switch on. The battery is fully charged, i checked it with a reliable voltmeter and it read 3.7 volts. I put a different working battery from a different working sensation and still nothing. The led does not come on when i connect it to the charger and i am losing patience.
The back story is, yesterday i flashed SENSEay onto my phone and all was good. I used titanium to restore the apps, no data, I made a backup and left the phone alone for a while. I decided later on that i was going to play a game of samurai vengeance, but to do so i had to install chainfire3d. I did this and tried to install the beta part of chainfire, unfortunately this caused a bootloop. I pulled the battery and went into recovery to restore, restore went fine and my phone was back to working. Before i went to bed i put my phone on charge and when i woke this morning the bugger would not switch on. Because it has happened during the night i have no idea what occurred to kill it, all i do know is that no-one else has played with it. What the hell has happened to my phone?
All help will be gratefully accepted.
Your in the same boat as me buddy
I started going through the same issue yesterday, finally gave up and called HTC. Your phone (like mine) should still be under factory warranty with HTc so they are willing to fix it for free. I am gonna send mine in but am hesitant because idk if they will be able to tell if its rooted or not.
I have no idea if they will be able to tell if its rooted. What have you tried to get your phone to power on? Most threads with similar problems seem to be battery related, but thats not the case with my phone.

I have got myself a new phone and the old one is history. Thanks to everyone that helped but this thread is more dead than the old phone. Might as well close it!

[Q] Some crazy F/C issues

BG: Running Eclipse 1.4 with PBJ kernel. Yesterday I used my phone til it ran out of battery. Out for a few hours and end up at my parents for dinner. Brought the USB cord so i plug it into my Mom's laptop to let it charge over night. I take it off the charger this morning and turn it on...
First thing that happens is it wants me to set up a google account "touch the android" as if I had wiped data. I hit skip, see that one account is still connected, and all my apps are in the drawer. Most of them F/C when I try to run them. So I decide to restore from CWM. Went back to Tweakstock (Guess I never got around to backing up on eclipse) and then went back to CWM and flashed Eclipse again. Now, some android.acore keeps f/cing, as well as all gapps, google framework junk, the eclipse keyboard if i switch from swype, my contacts, etc. Titanium backup doesn't find root. Superuser seems to be working. So I try flashing eclipse again to no avail.
I noticed after this morning that Verizon data widget wanted to be updated. Looked into that a bit and it seems it MAY be to blame, God knows how...
Anyone experience this before? What should my next steps be. I'm thinking back to stock through odin w/ PIT file and work from there?

Sounds like something corrupted in /system area, that's why you back to factory setup screen. To prevent long term issue, I would do the clean slate back to stock with PIT file. Make sure you follow instruction carefully with PIT file.
I couldn't figure anything else out so I went ahead back to stock, and as it's been a while, rooted following a pretty awesome guide at chargeforums.
Still on stock rom but everything seems to be running smooth. From here I will cwm back to eclipse and see how it goes over the next few days. I really have no idea what happened but the last person to touch my phone before it died was my gf so I've had some fun picking on her for breaking my phone. Literally nothing was working earlier so she thought she really messed it up bad.

[Q] APN Dropping - Samsung Galaxy S I897

I have a Samsung Galaxy S I897 running GB 2.3.5 on the AT&T network.
Here is my problem:
I upgraded from Froyo to GB. Everything was fine except that nagging force close of the tethering manager. After much researching, I had to do a hard reset and the phone worked fine.
I then decided that I would try Easy Battery Saver. Without researching this further than customer reviews, I figured it would be helpful. I decided it was a P.O.C. app and got rid of it. Then the problems really started. (DO NOT USE APPS LIKE THESE, for anyone new reading this post.)
The settings remained after deleting the app and I noticed that my battery life was worse. Once I got below 50% battery, I would lose all data connection. My 3g would disappear, then the bars, then I would be left with circle and line. Sometimes my phone would just shut off and show that I had no battery left, this after having the phone charging all night, and after about 5 minutes of use.
I called AT&T... not much help there. I got a new SIM, I did a few battery cycles to bring it back to normal, hard reset the thing like 5 times. I gave up!
Now, I downloaded ODIN3-one click and tried a complete ROM restore. It worked great! I got back to eclaire. I re-installed Froyo then GB. I hoped this would solve the problem. I went ahead and re-installed my apps. One being the Opera Mobile Browser. I went to use my browser. SAME ISSUE AGAIN! I lost my data connection within 2 minutes. OMFreakinGoodness already!!
I'm frustrated and do not know what to do next other than throw this phone out the window doing 90 on the freeway.
Here are my questions:
When running ODIN, should I have used the master clear option after it said it was done? All I did was hit start and it said it was done, so I figured it did what it needed to.
Is Opera Mobile the culprit? I only started using it about a couple of days before using the battery app.
Do I need to format my internal SD? Will Master Reset with ODIN3 do this for me? (Once all was said and done, everything is still on my internal SD.)
Please help. I am a N00b when it comes to working with Androids completely and I am just starting to delve into the modding portion of being an android owner.

Car Mode Toggles on and off Repeatedly after Root

After rooting my Inspire with AAHK no matter what rom I install car mode toggles on and off and drains my battery/ doesn't allow me to functionally use the phone. I've searched XDA and tried many of the suggestions including trying different roms and uninstalling the app via Titanium Backup. After uninstalling via Titanium Backup the app doesn't fully launch anymore, however it still takes over my phone. All of this has been to no avail. Any suggestions on getting this problem worked out?

I had a similar problem last night... This probably doesn't relate directly to your problem, but maybe it'll help someone else.
I've had my phone rooted for almost as long as I've had it (~18 months) without having this problem. I've been running ShoStock 3 (JB 4.1.2) for about a month. I'm running this ROM because I have to use Lotus Traveler for work, and the version of Traveler we have isn't compatible with JB 4.2).
Last night I got in my car and was talking to my wife on my phone. It was ~93° F and my air conditioning doesn't work in my car. Since I was talking to my wife, I didn't want to roll down the window and have a lot of noise from wind or other cars driving past. After a few minutes of talking like this, I was sweating like crazy.
She had asked me to stop at a store on my way home, so I did and I grabbed the items I needed, all while continuing to talk to my wife. As I was standing in the checkout line, my phone started switching back and forth between Car Mode (or Driving Mode or whatever the term is) and regular, so the external speaker was turning on and off.
I'm not sure if it was the heat that got to it, or if it was the sweat from my face, but even after we hung up (since we couldn't talk when it was doing that), it still kept switching to Driving Mode and back. I wiped it off and it seemed to stop. I tried to call her back when I was getting back into the car, but it started doing it again.
Moral of the Story: Large amounts of facial sweat seem to trigger automatic toggling of Driving Mode.
EDIT: I just realized I posted this in the Infuse thread, while my phone is a GS2 (i777). This thread came up as a suggestion when I started to write a post for the i777 Q&A, hence my accidental post here.

Well, that could explain why on summer my car mode was acting like crazy. Solved it by changing rom, but still good to know.
