[Q] Wireless disconnection policy reverting - Eee Pad Transformer Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Wondering if anyone else has run into the trouble of their wireless disconnection policy seems like randomly reverts back to "Never" rather than what i normal set it as "when screen turns off"
I am using Prime latest 2.1.1 flashed from cwm with stock kernal (then tried flashing clemsyn again), even tried re-flashing it. This issue has only been happening last few weeks.
Anyone else running into this trouble or maybe found a fix for it?

Wifi just scans and never connects

I just upgraded to 5.1.1 ...I posted an update http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1008702 to my post but assumed most never saw it....
anyhow....ever since moving to the update my wifi just spins. It recognizes that there are services available but it never gives me an option to connect to them. Any ideas?
after a sleep? or after upgrade to 5.1.1?
I have encountered this issue before on tnt lite 4.2. I simply rebooted it and reset your wireless router. and then no issue to me.
check out this thread if it is after a sleep.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1006112&highlight=wifi+scan
I don't 100% remember but I think that there is a custom kernel to fix/improve the wifi problem? Anyone can confirm it?

There were some issues regarding sleep (mostly failures to wake, causing reboots, and CPU throttle getting stuck on sleep).
However, those on the 5.0 TNTl are stuck with the existing kernel. Not to bash TNT - I've used 4.X and 5.X versions and think its great - just that it's in its own little world as far as kernel and recovery options.
no sleep...just straight after the update. I have searched the forum and done anything that looks like it might work. Reset the router several times, stood within 6" of the router. Re-booted probably 100 times.
I went back and cleared the darvlick cache and did a factory reset. Re-installed 5.1 thinking this might help but from my noob eyes it looks like 5.1.1 is still running (based on the background wallpaper only).
That is the frustrating thing for me...if this happened on my pc I would go get a new driver or reinstall the hardware and I would be back up and running...with Android and ROM I am completely lost.
++UPDATE++
Just checked into the hotel and the wifi works on an open connection. I really don't want to open my home network if can avoid it...typical suburban cul de sac with too many people that would to steal some wifi

wifi forced off and ramdump.log, after NVFlash wipe and install?
Is it just me that's continuing to have ongoing issues with rebooting even after trying complete wipes back to stock, and then NVFlash wipe and install of this latest Prime or ARHD ROMs?
I just NVFlash installed v2.0.1 yesterday, then applied the v2.0.4 update in CWM. Everything seemed fine, I kept applications installed to a bare minimum to test stability, went to bed last night and did not touch the tablet until 11 hours later. It seems that it slept through the night until about 10 minutes before I turned it on, and found that the wifi was completely turned off (had to go into settings and check the "on" box to enable again), and of course that it had just rebooted as there was a ramdump.log file!
The log seems fine other than a line towards the end that is just a bunch of random numbers? Can anyone figure out what went wrong?

Stock ROMs seem to work just fine, but where's the fun in that?
Thanks.
EDIT : could it be possible that the European radio check is causing wacky stuff with use in the United States? I have unchecked it but not sure if this caused the problems.

Process android media FC

I keep getting this FC, usually as soon as I unlock. Tried rebooting, reloaded rom (full wipe, then reloaded apps with TiBu) but still get the same error. I'm running the latest Revolver, 3.11.1 (I think that's the version) Any ideas what's causing it?
Sounds like some hardware oroblem. If you can, check speaker connections and so on, otherwise you should probbly get used to it!
I have the same issue, it usually occurs when I unlock the screen but doesn't happen all the time. I am also on revolver (version 3.10 I think). I always figured it was a honeycomb issue. Oh well, besides being somewhat annoying, it hasn't caused any noticeable issues.
Yeah, it hasn't caused any issues, just kind of annoying. Its not a hardware issue, I have used Krakd and Prime and it doesn't happen in either of those roms. It only started to happen when I updated to the latest Revolver
Try clearing the app data for the most closly associated app(s).

[Q] Wifi Error (but not your usual error)

ok, so weird issue for me.. and idk if anyone else is experiencing it cause it doesn't seem like it.. I'm getting wifi error (and before anyone says anything about my router, it's already configured). It just won't turn on no matter what. I hit it, it says a grayed out "Turning On..." and then error again. No attempt or anything. I go into wifi settings and everything under Wi-Fi is grayed out, that's the network notification at&t wifi hot spot setting and wifi networks. I've been trying hard and absolutely no resolution. A google search only affords me more "fixes" for my router and that's not the issue. If i can get a referral somewhere else that doesn't talk about the router being the issue then i'd greatly appreciate it.

I've never heard of that error before so I don't know. Are you rooted? What version of Android are you running? What I'd do is backup all your apps, text messgs, contacts, etc., and do a factory reset and see if that fixes it. Worst case scenario you could flash a fresh new version of 2.3.5 via RSD Lite and you'd almost surely have the problem fixed, unless it's a hardware issue.
I actually started off on 2.3.5 with the issue, and then i started having problems with my ability to actually get past FB, so i had to do a the rsd fix where i force stock on there again. From that point since it still wasn't working I went and pushed ota which took forever and got onto blaze hoping/praying that it would finally work after that. ultimately nothing worked so I'm here now at the mercy of the forum hoping some guru might have something that I could try.

Wow brother, if you flashed the 2.3.5 fxz to it and still had the problem, i'm thinking there's a hardware issue.
yea, i figured. so i've already contacted motorola and since i'm still under warranty i can return it and they'll send me another one. them's the break, but i got 2 weeks before i even have to decide on that so its not something i'm rushing towards lol
Try going to adb shell
su
ifconfig tiwlan0 down
(toggle airplane on then off)
ifconfig tiwlan0 up
(toggle airplane on then off)
Maybe that will bring your adapter back up. Hope that helps.
hope this doesn't mean anything bad, but it says error no such device
i did adb shell in cmd prompt, it started up went [email protected] then i did su and it changed to [email protected] and i did what you said.. and it gave me that error
Had the same error problem a few ago using blaze v3 rom. After reboot, it was solved and I could connect to my wifi again.
Have no idea what caused the problem, as I didn't do anything out of the ordinary with the device since the update from blaze 2.5.

I am facing same issue on Droid 3. it does not work with Stock ROM, but works with CM9 or AOKP based rom.

only once did i have problem with wifi on this phone and i never fixed it on 2.3 ...
after a lot of trial and error though, i got it fixed with upgrading to ics.
other than that, does your bluetooth do the same? because symptoms like these usually mean water damage. you might want to check the indicators, (if the a2 has any) --- if you broke your wifi by updating rom, this probably isnt the case.
I noticed that the description for the wlan interface is different in the build.prop between GB and ICS. So you might check your /system/build.prop.
Look for this towards the top of your build.prop
Code:
# wlan interface
wifi.interface = tiwlan0
softap.interface = tiap0
In GB wifi.interface = tiwlan0
In ICS wifi.interace = wlan0
So make sure the value is correct, if the value is wrong it will show your wifi "greyed out" in the settings. Anyway, it's something to try, and I hope that helps. If you change the value, make sure you reboot then check to see if it is fixed.
Since I don't know if anyone is still looking into this at all because I haven't seen many updates to this thread, I'm wondering if anyone has checked the kernal information. I was able to do some searching (btw I haven't sent in my atrix 2 in yet because of work) and I found that there was some issues in regards to the Kernal. I don't know if thats true or not but I would like to see someone test it out or try it out or what have you and see if they can shed some light on the situation because the situation is rather bleek, and i'd rather not have to send in a perfectly good phone that was working just fine before the flash, and still wouldn't work after reflashing the AT&T rom.

[Q] Wifi Issue

I own a HTC One S with stock vodafone (gb) rom, rooted, ICS 4.0.3, Touch 4.0. As I see a lot of people have similar issues as mine, however, I wasn't able to find a working solution. So the problem is that the phone stopped being able to connect to wifi networks - no matter if secured or free. I tried to change the settings from dhcp to static, stll nothing. It goes through connecting>obtaining ip address>authenticating>saved,secure... in whatever order, and the cycle repeats over and over... Sometimes bars appear, blink and disappear again. I had no wifi problems until last night, when I went to a place with free wifi, and for the first time I could not connect to it. After that the issue continued at home. Restarting the router/phone don't work. Has anybody found a working solution?

Not a good solution but you could try a factory reset if nothing else works.

I rebooted the phone a few times (waiting 6 mins when off) without fastboot on and on the third time it started working. I hope this doesn't happen again... As I searched through the forums I saw a lot of people having similar issues mainly with dhcp.. hope there's a fix for that...
Problem appeared again... This time reboot isn't solving anything. When I put it on static IP it connects to the network and disconnects over and over again. This s*** is driving me crazy...
are you running a custom kernel?
No. It's stock. Recovery is CWM, phone is rooted via this method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1577831
it could be the boot.img causing your issue. i rooted via this method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1583427 and have never had a problem with wifi unless i had flashed a custom kernel
Well.. I don't know, because I haven't flashed a custom ROM.. Just rooted the stock one... Btw it started working again after like 10 reboots with no fastboot on, but experience tells me that it'll go crazy again...
you could also try flashing a custom rom, it might fix the issue
