i want to ask,..is it possible to tracing our O3D if its stolen? i mean not with 3rd party app installed(i.e. seekdroid, etc), but with google account or market account that connected with the device, or if there's any other way,..
my friend just lost his O3D, just want to help him if its possible.

Why not with a third-party app? Can you not remotely install a third-party app for that purpose?
I doubt there is any other way.
I've never done it but my friend has installed apps remotely but dont think that would help the op as you have to run tracking apps and don't think remote installs would auto run.
You could report the theft and block the phone, and here in uk I know police can track sims if not payg ones so might help find it that way.

Thx guys for your reply. Yes i thought it can be trace by using 3rd party program, but unfortunately the phone is gone before "he" install anything (just got unboxing). Police here can also trace the signal of the simcard by using cooperation from the sim operator, but it takes much much time. I guess theres no other way yet then to be prepare before something like this happen.

Hey,
jsut thought about this thought the whole day. I´ve got a Moto XT720 (Stock ROM) and it works pretty good. Now the thing is, I have the Google Account and so on. But I do not want that Google is tracking me, has access to my phone, and that my phone can connect to google servers (Mail, Calendar, Market, SYSTEM).
Is it possible that I can delete some apk´s so that I have a real standalone mobile phone?

If you do any web browsing on any device even on a pc or iphone google and bing etc will track data about you. You can't use any device online without someone tracking you unless you use a proxy and even then the proxy could still track you.
You can delete or freeze googles apps but browsing will be tracked on any online device so only sure way is switch off wifi and mobile data.
But that defeats the point of a smartphone then.

ICS, at least stock ICS, has the ability to disable system apps.
Settings -> Apps (under 'Device) -> 'All' tab, click an app, click "Disable". It won't be uninstalled, but it will never run, meaning it cannot connect to the internet or do anything else.

The problem is if he ever uses internet he will still be tracked. If he uses gps his location can also be tracked.

Yeah, it's a very strange request, but he could disable all internet-capable apps, and just use his phone for voice and offline apps?
He could still use GPS though, but not A-GPS. GPS just receives the signal from the satellites, this is why you can still log your position while off the cell network. It's one-way communication, so there's no way to be tracked just by listening to the GPS signal. He could download maps to the phone and use it for navigation that way.
Don't get an Android phone is my advice if you want no connection to Google.

Android without the Android market is pretty dull, and even if you would use the amazon appstore (which is officially only working in the US/and maybe CAN) you would be stuck with only a fractal of not up to date apps, since in the amazon app store are alot of old versions flying around.
And please dont believe in the old google creep, who is sitting in front of the "internet" waiting is whole life only to set cookies in your browser. He does not exists!
I don't understand why you would want Android on your mobile device and not want google on it? Thats how smartphones work, if you don't want google on your phone I suggest you get a non smart phone.

I don't think anyone's been hostile, just surprised maybe as seems op wants no tracking yet to be able to use internet which can't be done except at best through a proxy.
To the op, you can root and uninstall or freeze google apps and browse via a public proxy server if you want to avoid tracking but your carrier and possibly google (the main operating systems all record your gps data inc ios android and wp7, think only wp7 was found collecting that though which is why I say possibly not probably) can still see where you have physically been via cell, gps and wifi logs.
If its just google you wish to avoid another option could be use a firewall or dns blacklist app to stop your device being able to connect to known google internet addresses.

If you don't know by now that all of the "free" apps aren't really free, you're kidding yourself. How do you think Google makes money? It's primary purpose is collecting information. Private informtaion (even the carriers...search on the term "carrier IQ"). That is the age we live in. The best that can be done is to either throw your phone away or learn how to secure your phone and info in as much as is possible. There are apps that can identify what apps are sending what data and block them from doing so (on rooted phones). Even then, data still gets out. It's a trade-off. For now, it's used for marketting purposes. However, that much data is bound to fall into the hands of some government who will use it to control the masses. It's just too tempting, and it's the nature of humanity. So, I'll limit whatever data exodus I can and accept the trade-off for the rest (until the government {read Anti-Christ} wrests control). The old saying applies: "It's not paranoia if they really are out to get you".
I honestly don't get the point in using a smartphone with fears of being 'monitored' or tracked. If you don't want to be tracked, don't use the internet, don't use a cell phone, and live under a rock for the rest of your life. That's the best advice I can offer.
Is there an app that will allow you to locate your phone from your computer if its lost? Just wanna install all these things on my phone right now for precautions so I never lose it or if i do I can find it
PS: Not only an app that allows you to locate your phone but an app that also lets you wipe memory or lock the phone from your computer if you don't want people going through your personal files? (Free App or one time buy please, I'm not trying to pay monthly.)

I've heard cerebus to be really useful with a lot of cool tools (it's a one time paid app though)

If you have apple device then with the use of FindMyPhone app you can search your iPhone, iPad location.
I use Cerberus as well. Another feature not mentioned is that not only can you see where your phone is, you can download the history of its location.

AVG and Kaspersky Mobile Security have a track option, GotYa! also works fairly well. (And has some nice anti-theft features, such as remotely bricking your device.)
Keep in mind that they work better on a device with 3G than without. Tracking my WiFi-only tablet (without WiFi on) only resulted in an area the size of the entire neighbourhood (3km²).
Kaspersky did an excellent job of tracking down my friend's phone to within half a meter when he got lost in Prague, though.

Hy, i have a app called Mcdonald, It offers some great offers but once you use it you can't use it again in the same phone even if you deleted it, changed account, vpn.
All of that didn't work can you help me to make my phone able to get that offer again?

My banking app stopped working 30mins ago and after I nuked the data/cache and got it working again. I caught the app asking for new permissions that I don't believe it asked for before

settings.Secure.getstring/android_id - same as asking for the serial, why does my bank need this.
PackageManager.getindstalledPackages - wtf does it need to know what apps are on my personal phone?
NetworkInfo.getextrainfo - why does it need to know who my data provider is?
AdvertisingClient$Info.getid - why the actual f*** does a banking app or my bank need my advertising id.
TelephonyManager/getNetworkOperatorName - asking who my operator again, why.
Fabric.with/Kits - not quite sure what this is, cant find anything beyond its something to do with android SDK.
I am emailing my bank app support to see if I can get some straight answers, but in the meantime can someone tell me what "Fabric.with/Kits" is and why the app would be asking for this permission?

Yes, seems like a lot of unnecessary permissions, I'd be suspicions also. Though they might be using those permissions to increase security by "fingerprinting" your phone, thus making it harder for someone to impersonate you, though you can change your advertisers ID on newer Android versions, so maybe not! Or app legitimately need that info for some other reason. Also app permission fall into 2 categories "normal" & "dangerous" you are not asked to approve normal ones only dangerous ones eg access to contacts, network access etc. I'm not a dev so not sure if they have been moved to a new category now & that is why you are seeing them now. Maybe permissions added by bank legitimately but on other hand seem excessive to me.
The Fabric one might be OK as fabric is a module framework that uses kits & is used by some developers to implement crashlytics etc, but guess some kits could be used maliciously. (Google are pushing devs form Fabric to Firebase)
But if suspicions give that app a scan with a good security app (not that this proves app is safe!) Try the Sophos security app, its free, might identify if malicious but also gives a nice summary of permissions granted to all your apps.
Can someone suggest me some lightweight app cloning application ? It does not have to be free but has to be good.
Must have for me i a possibility to turn off it from background running, i don't need any notifications from cloned apps.

Already tried, that app is little shady, why it is in 3 versions, i don't see any difference between them, devs what's to hide negative comments and publish it again ? second why it need to manage my notifications, that is read or remove notifications from other apps (including verification SMS or emails that popup in notification bar), i don't see a good reason for that, and if i will not allow it will display all the time very annoying baner on top that will try to convince me to give the app that rights. I would not recommend it, that personal information thieves does not use stolen data instantly when they got it, they wait till you lost track when and where you can give it to them. So at some time it could happens that in magical way some account number was added as trusted on your bank account and all your cash goes there.
