Vivid and Raider are the same just different names, the Raider is in Canada offered by Bell and Rogers, the Vivid is the US version.
People have rooted the HTC Raider, myself included, I am unsure if the Vivid has been.
As far as I know there are no roms available yet as it's just been released, hopefully soon.

Hi gang, noob here,
I bought my Raider outright 3 weeks ago ($600.00 Canadian), and still haven't been able to root it. I've tried everything except the Terminal Emulator method as I'm too nervous...too much of a noob...don't wanna brick it. I've rooted my Xperia X10. Is it because the Raider just came out? Is there a simple way to root? Can someone point me in the right direction?
Thanx,
Cheers!

Keep checking the link I posted in my earlier post. Once permanent root is obtained I'm sure it will be mentioned in that thread if not available from that thread itself. You are right, since the phone just came out it will take a few to get it rooted. People are working on it as we speak though.

one click root?

Hey guys do you think one click root you guys have here to root htc inspire would work on the HTC evo
If you are looking to root an EVO shouldn't you be in the EVO section?
Sent from my Inspire 4G using Tapatalk
Yes you are right my friend however i had the inspire before and now i have the evo but the new evos now come with 2.3 and can't root it.at the evo forums don't have the option to go back to stock 2.2 like we do here. So I was going to give this one a shot but I thought of asking first to see if maybe anyone has done it. If not I'll probably stay with the inspire lol.
The current rooting methods for the Inspire/DesireHD are very device specific. No chance it would work on an EVO. Heck, they won't work on DHDs that have taken the 2.3 upgrades either.
Most rooting methods are device spicific so please be careful using things not ment for your device.

[Q] Where do I post for a HTC Hero?

I'm not really sure where to post with the phone I have. I purchased a HTC Hero S and I can't seem to find the right forum for it. I found other HTC Hero forums, but the image for the phone doesn't match the one I've got.
My phone is quite similar to the HTC Evo, with a few differences in hardware. I'm interested in gaining root access, would following the guides there work out for me?
Thanks!
I Don't think there's any Support for the Hero S...
So there's no gaining root access on it for now?

To tell you the truth I'm Not Sure...
I have a CDMA HTC Hero, and used the z4root.apk to get Root Access on my Hero!
I'll post a link to get the z4root all if you wanna try it?

Lemme know if it works?
Thanks for your time, man! I'm going to be reformatting my computer in the next week or so, so eventually I will try it and get around to letting you know how it went.
Thanks again.

Wrong section.
I also have the Telus variant of the HOX and would love to see a root come out for 1.91. If any devs see this, I would be more than willing to help in any way.

i was able to successfully root a telus htc one x, i went to htc dev and did the unlock bootloader other supported devices, then used this for recovery http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1777773 , then took the su from here http://downloadandroidrom.com/file/HTCOneX/root/OneXRoot.zip and then flashed it via recovery and viola magic! it was rooted!!!! I own a evo 4g lte but my friend has a a telus htc one x that i was figured how to do this one

If i get a One X today can i Root it?

I've read that the At&t one x can't be rooted. Is this true?? If it is then im gonna go with the S3.
Depends on the software.

I'd say there is a 40% ull get on on 2.20 i got mine about a week and half ago it came with 1.73 so it's all draw of the hat I'd still get this phone anyways it's a good phone even on stock
I got onef rom work and it has 2.20....so I guess no root or custom ROMS until someone figures it out.
But someone will definitely figure it out yeah ?
One x is an awesome phone. Get that. Use it for a while and then you can root it after one of the developers figures a way out

Or if AT&T ever lets the bootloader get unlocked.
Are there many devices that remain un*rootable for the duration of their usable life?
Thanks all.
Went to swappa and found a mint white HOX running 1.85 and bootloader unlocked with TWCP. Now at least I know I'll get a good usable phone
Any word on root for 2.20???

[Q] So, I got my phone rooted and unlocked. One more quesiton

So after a few hours I successfully rooted and unlocked (s-off) my HTC Inspire. I flashed to Android_Revolution_HD-4G_7.3! Everything is working perfectly. However, I tried to run xbox smartglass and apparently I am on too low of an andriod version. Is there anyway to go up to 4.0+? Also is it worth it?
Any help would be appreciated
Yes, there are 4.0+ ROMs available on both the Inspire 4G and the Desire HD development forums. You can use both; they're nearly the same phone.
