[Q] i bricked my HTC sensation - HTC Sensation

hi all
help me please , i was using ADB to turn the S-ON , the phone restarted and never came back ....
even when i press the start button nothing happens , i tried the press sound down and open ... nothing
i tried to connect it to the pc , nothing , please help me as HTC EGYPT say they dont have the sw to fix it and wants to replce the motherboard !!!!!

Does your PC detect phone? Try writing command "adb devices", if not try to remove battery and let it for 5minutes and try again, also was your battery full charged before you tryed this?Try let it charge a bit if none of above helps.
But if nothing of that helps i dont see what else could you do..its dead and you need to service it..

nope , ADB doesn't detect it

Before you did the command for S-On did you flash back to stock with the original RUU that came with the phone?

You have corrupted your device and are now in QHSUSB download mode (used by Qualcomm to flash drivers and such to the cpu) and yes you are bricked.

ouch. that sucks lol

Look at the bright side of things. Use this as a learning experience. Now you know what NOT to do with your phone the next time.

Call your carrier or HTC and hope they take pity on you, but you'll likely be on the hook for this one.

[Q] I take it I'm bricked

So I've been trying try to install ARHD, and in the process, I went to boot my phone into bootloader.
Cue, phone not turning on.
Hold down the power button, nothing
Hold down the power+vol down, nothing.
The only glimmer of hope is that when I plug it in, windows says "Hey, there's a device here!" But I think that could just be the generic sound it plays when it realises something is plugged in, whether it works, or not.
I apologise for making *another* brick thread, but it seems most of the "bricked" threads I could find say "My phone just has infinite boot animation, am I bricked? :<" or things similar.
If there's any way, any way at all, to fix this, I would be... appreciative, to say the least.
Prior to possible brickage -
I was following this which in turn linked me to this, I got to "7. enter the command "adb reboot-bootloader". (nothing further required device WILL reboot in bootloader)"
That's it. Nothing else, other than the build up to it, such as plugging it in and moving the files to the C drive and such and such. And then I just did "adb reboot-bootloader", and... it didn't like it.
Any way to undo a brick if I am, or is it completely dead? Off to the phone graveyard?
Thanks in advance.

of all things you tried i think you havent tried this
can you try it and reply
rebooting to bootloader manually:
To reboot to bootloader remove your battery, reinsert, hold volume down and press power button. Do not release Vol down until booted into bootloader
if you got into bootloader and then your phone is not bricked..you can bring back your mobile to life completely
if that didnt helped you..click on IRC HELP CHANNEL in my signature and join it and express your grievance there ?

Would the RUU help ?..

Something like this, since windows is finding it, you may be able to reset it into bootload through ADB.
"ADB reboot bootloader"
If you can get that, you can get back into recovery.

Sensation XE, Dead Screen, Need Help to restore to original status for warranty claim

PHONE STATUS
MODEL SENSATION XE
WARRANTY YES (in warranty)
S-OFF/ON OFF
Rooted YES
SUPPER CID YES (I Know the original CID)
RECOVERY Installed
PROBLEM SCREEN DEAD
REQUIREMENT Want to restore original status (S-ON, Unroot, original CID, Relock the bootloader, remove recovery etc.) for warranty claim.
DESCRIPTION:
Well screen is completely dead, it displays nothing but a whitish backlite, I can hear startup up sound and touch sounds, can also receive calls, power button and bottom buttons are working normally but display is dead for sure.
Yesterday i successfully restored the Original RUU (I can hear the new staurtup sound), now I cannot detect my phone in Adb list (maybe debugging mode is OFF) neither I am able to start it in boot loader. HELP REQUIRED BEYOND THIS.
there was a similar thread by another person long back..do a search for it ..i have given detailed instructions there
hmm it seems like you did done the ruu thing
now you need to go to bootloader ...
remove battery ..reinsert it... then press power button + voulme down together ..after some time you will get a small vibration ..then connect the phone to pc
there fastboot works
you can check it using
fastboot devices command
then use the fastboot to restore the cid to original one
fastboot oem writecid xxxx
then do the SON finally but before that ..check all the existing details of the phone using
fastboot getvar all (post it here except imei so that i can verify them...)
then atlast
fastboot oem writesecureflag 3

removing battery and reinserting the battey is the main part ..are you doing it ?
also while the phone is trying to boot...type "fastboot devices" and then see whether the device is being shown or not
if not showing ..press power button once ....then try fastboot devices again

Need help with HTC sensation, i think he's bricked?

K got this HTC from a friend of me, was working before, had it rooted and fixed with custom rom
It was S-on on v1.27
k now gonna try to explain what's going wrong:
When i shut down the phone, put battery out, back in, connect to usb, i get the phone recognized by ADB (my HTC phone)
when i type adb reboot-bootloader, device responds and boots into fastboot mode
when i use vul up i get Fastboot usb on screen
from this point i can't get any further, device doesnt respond from any button action except for vol up.
Device is not recongized in windows now (windows 8 64bit) got the famous error 43
So in ADB everything is fine, but in fastboot nothing is working/responding
when i pull battery out, then put it back in, i can succesfully boot with volup en power, then i get everything running (custom rom from before) but it says safe mode
Any ideas what i can do to get this thing back on it's feet?
regards,
Robin

In bootloader(fastboot mode) no buttons will works except vol up,down and power..
If you want to flash a custom rom then
First goto bootloader
Now enter to recovery by using vol down and then power button to ok.
Place a Rom.zip in sdcard format cache/dalvik , all partition except sd and then flash rom..

problem was that none of the button's where responsive, i found the cause of this, volume buttons are damaged (the strip inside was broken)
So now i have a new problem much wurse i think
only power button works, so i did a complete reinstall with ruu, booted up fine, but always in safe mode for some strange reason,
Now after shutdown, i can't get the phone on anymore, only goes to Hboot, and there is nothing responsive, non eof the buttons work, can't use vol buttons because they are broken.
Adb is not responding either, only getting HTC Android USB device in my device list....
I think the phone is ready for trash? :S

in bootloader adb doesn't work only fastboot
so when you are in hboot screen try this command
fastboot reboot (in the hboot screen should say fastboot usb)

since you are dealing with a hardware problem then yes
but try this
boot normally(even on safe mode)
connect it to pc and type
adb reboot bootloader
it will take you directly into fastboot mode
then type fastboot reboot
see how it goes and check volume button from there(to confirm the hardware issue)
otherwise repeat the procedure but instead of fastboot reboot run the ruu.exe again

Then i dont know how to help you you're only chanche is to restore the boot loader but the way to do that i'm sorry i can't suggest... When it happened to me, recovery was gone and screen black with backlight, only fastboot worked and i sent every single piece of rom via usb. I wish you good luck.
No modes usually means 1 thing...
"Hard Bricked".
What i would try:
See what happens if you plug the device into charger or USB Cable.
Also "fastboot" would fix it... But you got no modes and as far as i know there is no way to use fastboot manually on this device.
At least i couldnt find a way.
Try:
Remove your battery and plug it again.
Remove any cables connected.
Try some button combos to see if it boots anywhere.
If not install android sdk.
In your computer (under dos prompt / shell / command line) manually run adb.exe
I.e:
Adb start-server
Adb devices
(see if your device number is shown).
If it is: System is on. Your device is detected. A solution may be possible.
If it is not (probably): Device is Hard Bricked.
Either ways. If screen is on then theres a tiny hope you can revive it.
I would see if Odin could detect it and repartition it. Or even try to get it connected to my PC and manage the partitions manually. But... We go back to fastboot.....
So i guess jtagging; replacing board so on... Would be the only option.
Or i would sell it for parts and get a new one since that one is probably dead. (Sad...)

Hello again.
There's one last method you could try then...
- Required tools: 2 Persons (lol)
- A thin Clip
Remove the back cover from your device. Note that between the camera and speaker (literally in the middle), you'll see a tiny hole. That hole is another button.
1st remove your battery and place it again after 30 seconds. (Time for the device clears the components power).
Then Just press:
That tiny hole button + Volume Down + Home Button + Power Button
Try it a couple of times until your device boots into forced Download Mode.
Please press Thank button if it helped you.
