SIP message manipulation - General Topics

Hi,
My name is Thomas (21), I am student of computer engineering. Task at my school was to make a program that changing original SIP/SDP messages when using VoIP.
The task was hard, I admit to find help on the internet. I found SIP SDK that do the same. Check out if you like:
double v double v double v DOT voip-sip-sdk DOT com/p_223-sip-sdp-message-manipulator-sample-voip DOT html
Think that was great. But somehow I has to change it a little not to look like cheating. According to program (SIP SDK), can you giving me advice on this?
Or other ideas are welcome also.
Greetings to everyone

You can use the Microsoft Voice Command program
HTH
Stefan
You can find it @ a.b.warez.pocketpc
or pay 40U$.
Sorry, I'm a newbie with newsgroups.... Could u help me setup the newsgroup for a.b.warez.pocketpc? Any help would be greatly appreciated..... thanks....
I've got the same problem. I would love to check that newsgroup as well but I do not find a newsserver containing that group.
Could somebody please post the address of a newsserver that is able to check that group?
Thanks a lot...
how to enter news groups
get the address of the new group server of your isp
use a newreader program like outlook express or something else
scann for usegroups sellect the newgroup you want and enter it
news groups is not really http based
well are not as a rule anyway
I am living in a students home with LAN-connection to the net. So there is no dial-up ISP. The newsserver of my university does not accept the above mentioned group.
Is there a kind of workaround to read this group?
News groups
For all you newbees; Let me address this message first;
:!: It's illegal to download software from newsgroups! :!:
But I can't stop you from doing so...
the best way to read newsgroups is to take 5 steps;
1; Get a program that reads alt.binaries posts; like grabit and install the progam.
2; Get a newsserver account or check your ISP. (mostly they also have access to newsgroups but are limited.)
like;
I use www.usenet.com
www.easynews.com
www.usenetserver.com
www.giganews.com
www.supernews.com
www.astraweb.com
www.usenetmonster.com
www.100proofnews.com
(get a account that gives you unlimited download. Should cost you about 15 U$ a month.)
3; then find a post message site like (www.nfonews.com)where groups tell other people what they are posting and where you can find the files. (like the Voice Command from M$)
Alot of Dutchies are using FTD. (This is a program)
But there are numerious sites that will give you this info.
4; Once you have the info where you can find your ‘points of interest’, start your grabber software and subscribe your news account info.
Then find the location. E.g; alt.binaries.warez.pocketpc
Grabber finds the location and you can start downloading your ‘points of interest’.
Most files are wrapped as *.rar files. So you need to have a rar program to unpack the files. There are also *.par files. you also need those files if the program is brokendown in hunderds of *.rar files. *.par files are a sort of repair files. Let say you mis a couple of *.rar files of LOTR dvd. (yes you can find everything) Mostly the uploader will place also *.par files to repair the lost *rar files. So you still have the full program you are downloading.
5; The last thing you have to do is buy a bigger hard disk. B/c you are constantly downloading new things.. 120gb is not big.

Hope this helps you a little bit more on your quest for golden software treasures..

Text-to-image utility for WM?

Anyone know of a utility that will take a text file as input and spit out a simple GIF/JPG/PNG/BMP?
If there are none, plan B would be text-to-speech. Anyone know of a good one that sounds reasonably natural?
Thanks in advance!
if there are such options this is the search which will lead you to them
http://www.google.dk/search?hl=da&q=ocr+pocketpc&btnG=Søg&meta=lr=lang_da|lang_en
you can replace ocr with text to speach if you wanna search for that
One of us is misunderstanding...
As I understand Optical Character Recognition, it takes an image (which contains text) and extracts the text. I'm trying to do the opposite - take a text file as INPUT and OUTPUT to an image. (See attachment.)
BTW- I Googled this heavily before posting. Tons of Text2Image links, but everything I found was made for a desktop PC - not Pocket PC. And including "pocket pc" in the search criteria didn't help... lots of pages with Wintel Text2Image software that mention "Pocket PC" somewhere on the page.
Have you thought of using a fullscreen doc viewer (picsel comes to mind...) and a screen-capture mapped to a hardware button? It isn't automated, but it would get the job done.

With mortscript, you can automate pretty much anything, right? Problem is, that really wouldn't get the job done.
Let me explain the application a bit better...
I use Wisbar Advanced Desktop extensively and I have a pretty sophisticated UI set up. I have a special page for weather, but I'm really not happy with *any* of the weather today plug-ins (and I think I've tried pretty much all of them!) So what I want to do is pass 2 or 3 URLs to mortscript, have it read the file in, parse out the stuff I don't want, leaving me with text that gives me the precise details I do want. I then convert the text to an image file, saving it with the same name ands size every time (e.g. currentconditions.gif - which is already set as a positioned element on the WAD virtual page.) I do the same with extended forecast and surf report (I live at the beach in SoCal) and tell mortscript to go out and update this once per hour. Then, when I go to my weather page, I get exactly the info I want (including sunset time, water temp, UV index, etc.) and my info is no older than 59 minutes.
I'm starting to think that I should just do this server-side... maybe I can find a text-to-image script using php. Hmmmm...

Problem with Autocompletion in To: Field

Hello,
Not sure if anyone else is experiencing this problem. Searched but not able to find posts on it.
On my Hermes when typing a contact name in the To: field either in an email or SMS it would match up what you entered to the contacts in the address book. Great function.
On my Touch Pro it seems to work in a similar fashion until you type Space. When you type space it automatically fills the To: Field with what was showing up as the match at the time. e.g. When looking for "Jo Bloggs" - Typing in "Jo" would bring up Joe Smith and if I hit space it'll automatically fill in the field with Joe Smith's details.
I've switch off all of the autocompletion stuff in the options and taken of the T9 stuff.
Any help would be much appreciated.
W
-----------------------------------
Edit - You can switch on the T9 in the recipient field independently to main body of SMS/Email. Solves the problem but doesn't quite work the same as how it did in WM6 Pro and WM5.
Anyway - this is a minor issue but would like to hear if anyone else has experienced this.
---------------------------------
Edit - erghhh... now the T9 is kicking and suggesting words instead of names, which is what it's supposed to do, but doesn't help with filling in the Recipient field. Will carry on fiddling.
Hey,
This is exactly the problem I've been having. I list my contacts in groups (for example, people from my uni have UU in front of their names so I have a quick clear overview of everyone) but now whenever I type "UU" followed by a space it autocompletes it to the first person. Ive tried turning off all the options but no luck. This worked so well when I had the Tytn (or Mda vario II). Help would sure be appreciated! Thanks!
Possible Help
Not sure if this is a huge help, but I've get a lot of Jeff's in my contacts for work. I just type in Jeff and 1 name is shown at the bottom, but if I stop and don't hit space (which is goofy in my opinion) I can press the left or right arrow and it toggles between the Jeff's that are in my list, then press the great space key option and that person is populated.
Not sure if that helps, especially if you are clicking through 50 in that manner, but it works for my smaller lists.
Can definately flick through the contacts as described but previously on my Hermes I was able to type in a First, Surname or full name and it would match exactly the contact that I wanted. Very nifty - so it's annoying that it doesn't work quite the same in WM6.1
Currently, I'm typing the name, then hitting delete allows me to continue when I hit space... not quite the same but is a compromise at the moment.
Good to know that it's not peculiar to my device.

A more advanced text editor of sorts...

I've been looking for a day or two here and have been unable to find anything, but i'm searching for any windows mobile application that i guess best replicates Notepad++. just kind of a simple text editor but also with color coding on html and javascript, etc. i think that'd make the usefulness of my HTC Fuze complete.
Ahhhh Like "Notepad2" That would be pretty sweet on a pda or smartphone.
I use cke (http://www.animaniak.com/cke/cke_main.asp) for my coding on the PDA.
It has script highlighting and other advanced options that you might find useful.

Possible convert my iPhone-app to Android?

Hi!
Ive just finished an iPhone-application, and Im looking into the possibility to convert it to an android-application.
Let me tell you the basic structure of the app:
- It has a simple drill-down-menu, with three levels of lists. Pressing a list-item will bring you deeper down into the hierarchy, and pressing a back-button will take you up a step.
- At the bottom of the hierarchy is a webview that loads a unique webpage depending on the hierarchical path the user has taken. These web-pages (html and javascript) are all localized on the device so it never goes online.
- The webpages has two main resources: images, and sound (mp3). The sound should be playable from within the webpage. All these resources are also loaded from the device.
- When exiting the app, it should save its location and when relaunched it should reopen that location.
As you can see, its a pretty simple application. Im wondering if anybody could detail a little what I need for this to come alive on Android. Perhaps the application-layout Im after is so generic, even, that there is a template for this?
My background as a programmer is mostly C++ and C#, so Im more at home with the Java-syntax than the awful Objective-C that iPhone uses.
So far Ive installed the development-environment, and have tried out the basic "Hello Android"-sample. Thats about it for the moment.

Android uses java syntax and java libraries
so if you like java, then you would probably like android
layouts are done in XML

I don't think anybody can tell you what you need to do. Just start by reading through all of this: http://developer.android.com/guide/topics/fundamentals.html and you should be able to handle this.
Note: your application appears to be trivial.
One thing that I suggest is that you forget about locally-stored web pages and just rewrite those pages in Android/Java. The reason I suggest this is that unlike apple, you can't make any assumptions about what browser the user has installed (if any), or what rendering engine their browser happens to have, or javascript engine, etc. There are AT LEAST three different rendering engines in use on Android, including khtml, gecko, and presto. There are at LEAST two different JAVASCRIPT engines, including SquirrelFish and V8, and soon you will be able to add SpiderMonkey to this list (when Firefox launches). And no, you can't force your application to call on a particular browser since this would violate the modularity designed into the platform.
