D3o case causing problems - T-Mobile Sidekick 4G

I bought a d3o case for my daughters sk4g and add soon as I put it on it started messing up. Screen went blank and started vibrating these weird pulses. I looked on here but couldn't find anything.

u removed it to see if it mad a difference?

uhm yes, it doesnt freak out unless you put the d3o case on. then it starts vibrating these weird pulses and the screen goes blank.

is it a hard case or soft? becuase sometimes the case my be pressing on the power button and pressing on the volume button

you know that does make since. those d3o cases are real stiff, especially the buttons. I read somewhere that people were cutting those buttons out with a exacto detail knife. I guess I will try to pry it away from my daughter to look closer at those buttons.

Yeah that what happens to hardcase that's why I used the soft cover

Volume buttons loose?

The volume buttons on my NS seem a little loose and rattle a bit, more than compared to my Vibrant. Anyone else have this? Just the way it's designed or a defect?
Otherwise, very impresses with the NS so far!
Pretty solid on mine, no give and does not rattle even if I shake it.
Pretty solid.. and I'm not going to shake it or do something to possible make it worse!
Mine rattles like crazy and it's super annoying. I guess if others don't do this then I should exchange mine.

Hmm, not good then, lol. I hope my BB has more in stock to do an exchange... Compared to my power button, the volume button(s) are very loose, make a rattling sound every time I even slightly touch it.

mine is but im ok with it. My unlocked one does the same the power button is not loose while the volume button is.
Nothing wrong with mine, no noise or rattle.

exchange it, my vibrant had the same issue and i got one with sturdy buttons
What a pain. I just had everything customized and setup the way I like it and now I have to wipe it and get a replacement because of a crappy plastic volume button.
But at least there is a retail location to handle an exchange unlike the N1.

Fold a small piece of paper, take the back cover off, slip it in the gap of the volume rocker that goes into the hard back of the phone and that takes care of the problem

hahaha it worked for the vibrant and it works for this too =D
Many galaxies have this. Not a big deal for me.
Thx, that's a good idea re: the paper.
I was actually able to exchange mine today no problem, but had to drive 40 minutes to another BB that had a few in stock. This new one has a slightly loose volume button, but not as bad as the first one.
Mine is a little loose then my vibrant but I can live with it
just shook the hell out of mine. no rattle. have a vibrant, also doesnt rattle.
Eh... mine Just started to rattle. Not if I shake it, but if anything touches it. If I lightly touch it it will rattle. As if there isn't enough spring tension or more like the button is to small for the slot in the case. This is going to bug the hell out if me. I love this phone and its all finally customized how I want! Should I wipe and exchange it, or will they think I am crazy?
Same problem here.
The volume buttons are quite loose and I hear some rattle when I shake it.
But that's Samsung.
I know in some cases the Nexus One had problems with the power button, but at least there were no loose parts.
So I went to best buy to see if the loose button was just how its made or a defect. The employee took a few nexus's out of the boxes and they all had the same "loose feeling". Maybe loose is the wrong word; it just isn't solid like the power button. So I guess were just stuck with it. This is still a hell of a phone, just had some pretty high build quality expectations following my N1.

Well, the Nexus 1 did have a big problem regarding the power button.

The Sensation is squeaky

I noticed that when pressing the bottom buttons or holding the phone sometimes will result in a squeak. The one at the T-Mobile store did this too. A little annoying.
There's only 3 buttons on this phone. Power button and volume rocker up/ down. Perhaps you're pressing your screen too hard. I have heard no squeaks. I also use a screen protector and a case though.

Okay, cool. I thought I was the only one experiencing this. Guess I wont send my phone back afterall; forbid me getting a replacement that doesn't work.

I don't care how hard I push anything on the Sensation I have, it doesn't squeek.
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using XDA App
unfortunately, mine has the sqeak as well.
Mine doesn't squeak but it definitely feels a little loose. A nice gel skin case solves that though.
Mine creaks very very slightly when I press certain areas of the battery cover, but nothing more than that.
it doesn't squeek.
So far......
Mine doesn't squeak but does make a clicking sound and feel when I press the bottom buttons.... Three replacements and all have done it. Pissed me off that a high end phone does this.

it is known that after taking the back cover on and off a couple times the sensation starts to squeak...but this is easily fixed with adding a thin layer of paper within the backcover or just tape it (keep the antennas open)

Proud new owner of MT4GS! But wait...

I am still psyched on getting this phone, but I have one issue that bothers me a bit, and I would like to know if anyone else can confirm it.
The black outer trim of the face of the phone that surrounds the screen seems quite scratch-able.
I have a screen protector that covers the phone from the four hardware buttons up, so that part's fine.
However, on the naked black chrome underneath the buttons (and to the right and left of the optical track pad), I already have a few slight, but enough to bother me kind of scratches.
Yes it is
It is very scratch prone..And do yourself a favor and do not use the BodyGlove case, which is the only case they had at Tmobile when I bought the phone. It ended up scratching the phone more than if I didnt have it on at all. I usually keep my phones in pristine condition so I can sell and trade up when the time is right. Ive had this phone for 3 weeks and it looks a year old already.. But it is a great phone despite its weight
Wow, what are you guys doing to your phones???
I have had the phone since the release date and mine looks brand new.

I keep mine inside the pouch my G1 came with, and have a small piece cloth to clean eye-glasses inside of it. No screen protector (the ones I got from Amazon SUUUUCCKKKEEEDD), but this one seems much more resiliant than my MyTouch3G slide.
My phone looks amazing. Had it sense day of release. and I got the black body glove.
Sent from my myTouch_4G_Slide using xda premium
mine isn't scratched b/c I'm using a full body Zagg that I got put on in less than 24 hours of receiving the phone. However, my phone met the side of a filing cabinet while in my Case Logic belt holder and the bottom side of the screen is 'dented' in near the 'home' button, so its like the screen isn't flush, I can feel a little ridge, the other side this isn't present.
so watch out for stuff like that! (phone still works 100% fine, fingers crossed!)
Guys, read what I said again. I'm talking about the black chrome plastic under the hardware keys. It's hard to see in light, but if you look closely, maybe you'll see some scratch(es)?
I'm not talking about the actual touchscreen, if that's what you guys mean...
@token2k6
I have the ZAGG full body shield too, but last time I remember the full body shield doesn't actually cover the entire front face of the phone, but from the bottom of the touchscreen upwards. (which leaves the hardware keys, the optical track pad and the black chrome design naked)
@RazoE
Me too! I still got the G1 case and am using it atm.
Check out the cases thread in the accessories forum. Answers are there.

keep the phone in one pocket and your keys in another.

[Q] Cracks in Casemate Hula bumper case

I have a couple of cracks in my black Casemate bumper case. They're not that noticable, and they don't cause any structural problem, but they're a bit annoying.
I'm pretty sure it happened when I took my phone out of its case a few days ago to clean it a bit. Anyone else have this problem?
I can't post an image; apparently I'm too new.
I also have this problem. the part on top of the charger port cracked as it is the thinnest part
That's where mine cracked too.

no cracks in mine yet, but i have a different issue that is a bit annoying. recently the volume buttons have started sticking. i hit volume down, it scrolls all the way down, i hit volume up, it scrolls all the way up
edit: nevermind, the phone does it without the bumper

Case-Mate Tough Frame Case

Does anyone else who has one of these cases have a problem with accidentally powering the phone off or hitting the volume rocker? I've always preferred a bumper case (especially for this fatty - anything with a back would just make this thing too thick) but didn't realize until now how important cut-outs are rather than buttons on the case. Every once in a while I feel my phone vibrate in my pocket and pull it out only to see that it is restarting. This never happened with the cheap OEM case which had cut-outs. I'm about to take an exacto knife to it and cut those raised buttons out, but am afraid it'll be too hard to reach the buttons.
Maybe try shaving the case buttons down a bit.
I've had the Case-mate naked tough on since day one, haven't had a single problem with it. Although when I first installed it I had to reinstall it twice to make sure the buttons line up.. Awesome case, just a lil slippery on the back side, but overall I'm very happy with it.

Actually, I can press the power button just by pressing the case near the power button. It appears they didn't recess the case enough near the button, so shaving off the outside isn't going to help. It would probably be best to shave it down on the inside, but that would be very difficult. I think I'm just going to cut the button out.

That's a totally different case than this one.
I have the Vena and liking it. It shows scuffs and scratches but still shows off my custom back fine. No issues with buttons. They work flawlessly.
I don't have your issue above. The side of the case with the buttons is kind of loose, so I emailed the company and never got a response. Then I emailed them back and still didn't get a response. Then about a week or two later I randomly got a brand new case in the mail. They never contacted me, but gave me a brand new case. So I'm happy about it lol. I would suggest contacting them because that should not be happening.
Have your problem in spades.

Whenever I touch the phone, I always seem to brush the power or rocker and either turn it or crank the volume. Time for a little surgery. Love it otherwise.
