They don't even have a page dedicated for Sony Xperia Sola yet here
Developers would always depend on their personal resources for exploring, tweaking and development... Hopefully someone would always make an sponsorship for them... I'm talking about giant company, not only for sony but for other company as well.
In reality XDA become a great help ever since...
for developing and testing apps, which eventually become top paid apps...
for developing firmware, design interface, UI development and other tons of cool stuff....
I know some of this company would always a give a free samples on all various gadget reviewers online... just for marketing stunt...
I hope they will give here in XDA instead and all the developers whom really want to explore and reverse engineer all the products....
Topic. Solved!! Figured it out myself !!

You should make a walk-through then so that others can have an easier go of it.

Hi everyone!!!
Like some of you I bought a new phone, but my O1 stills in perfect conditions...
Considering its quite old and not of much monetary value (at least in my country) selling it is kind of hard.
So I was wondering if there's any alternative interesting use for my O1... Perhaps as a web server? Or a kind of joystick or remote?
This thread is to give ideas and suggestions about a new life/use for old O1s
***UPDATE***
This seems to be already a popular a the best option IMO http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2084746
At this point there's no release, but it's quite promising

Like someone else did here, use it just for navigation. Uninstall all useless apps make it barebone to have ultimate battery life with any froyo/gb rom.

I think I could that anyway with my new phone... The thing is to give it a new use, not just a smartphone with another OS...
Perhaps it would be interesting if I used ubuntu in my desktop and so there would be awesome functions I suppose

This seems to just be a tablet that's been sized down to phone. Kinda cool I guess.

A dedicated gaming device without any gaming controls? Seems to kind have missed the point?

I was expecting better specs also. Maybe dual core and at least the xperia plays slide out controls. Now that would be a nifty device.

Yeah, a single-core CortexA5 seems very outdated today (noting that is a game-oriented device).

Looks pretty cool but more competition for android lol

"The phone doesn’t have a home button, a slider-based lock screen, a "settings" tile, or an app switcher toggle. Instead, a user accesses these functions by swiping various edges of the screen."
Reminds me a lot of the BB10 gestures. Did anyone have a look on mashable where they gave 10 people a BB10 to use to figure out very basic things like unlocking and finding apps?
Let's just say the UX may take some getting used to, that being said if the value proposition is there I think people will be willing to go the extra mile for a new experience.
looks good, thanks for sharing.
Interesting phone. I don't think it will be popular though.

Great system and ubuntu mobile can run with 1ghz dual core, 512mb ram ...
They already ported it to galaxy nexus...
And as open source system we get more chance to port it in ours...
Waiting ubuntu!!!
He people, i know this is kinda unusual but i am willing to sacrifice my honor for the greater good, by asking you to please sing the following petition.

With this, the porting of a lot of different roms for. Broad range of mainstream devices wil become much easier to develop. Our devs need this.
Thanks for your time people!
