Okay guys, here is what is my problem on my phone. I had flashed my phone with JPKP5 firmware the day I bought it and I feel that its giving me very very less battery as compared to what it should give. So, could you guys tell me the firmware I should flash it with, so that I can get better battery performance?
I have tried all settings for battery improvements, like lowest display, no wifi/Bluetooth and all that!
Please help me...
Thanks,
Aneesh
Try different rom....
Bro the first month battery will suck......just use it regularly discharge then charge.....u will see battery improvement...
Now about rom install i9003dxkp9 2.3.5 Asian version then cf root it and at last install poseidons rom rc1....u will see the difference
Thanks for the help bro! Its not one month since the date I bought the phone though! Btw, should I wait till my warranty? Or should I just go ahead with doing what you asked?

Thanks my friend
Flashed the firmware in the morning. It was fast and snappy. Nothing to say about the battery yet because it was just around 8 hours. However, it seems to last quite long as it just drop to 80% battery since 90% like 6 hours ago.(don't know yet. Need to test till next morning to say more about the battery life.) Well it was bloated with orange stuff. You can choose between orange or twlauncher UI after flashing. Changing of language is also easily done. Did benchmark on linpack and quadrant. Both still around the same score as in JPF. However, the phone does feel a little more snappier than in JPF. That's all i would say for now.
By the way, the above testing was made with rooting and lagfix V2 installed.
Regards.

I agree with you, until someone says otherwise. The positive is that it is branded, as 5801, and IMEI loss is less likely. More information about the performance is needed.

Hi Guys,
I have upgraded to BVJP9 since it was released. Here are my comments:
Pros:
1. BVJP9 feels faster than JPF but when music player is ON, it lags a little which i never felt in JPF
2. Battery is far better than JPF. Its 14 hours now and my phone has 50% battery.
Bluetooth ON since morning, data service running continuously, moderate calls, listened to music for 4-5 hours. I feel satisfied with battery performance
3. Consumes less memory than JPF. With all my applications installed JPF would use around 184MB ram but this seems restricted to 164 (20MB less)
4. no dropping of battery from 50 - 10 in a moment. battery goes down gradually 50-40-30 (saw all these)
Cons:
1. Users with vodafone connection in India with vodafone mobile connect service ON will face more call drops as compared to JPF
2. Lots of orange stuff, which is not required. If someone can help remove them, would be great
3. Orange boot animation which i personally dont like
4. layar removed
5. Installed applications size is not displayed, which makes me feel that this could be a beta version
6. I faced issue while upgrading from JPF. I had to downgrade to DDJG6, wipe data and upgrade. If anyone faces issue like cannot mount file during upgrading process, they can try to downgrade to DDJG6, wipe data, wipe cache and upgrade to this one
Note: I have not applied lagfix only superuser

Hello guys,
I am reading about flashing, rooting, installing cROMS, and so many things in this forum. Frankly speaking i am totally confused!
Currently I am using Stock rom of samsung , I am on 2.3.6 Gingerbread
Code:
PDA:I9003DDKP2
Phone: I9003DDKP4
CSC: I9003ODDKPH
earlier My phone was on Froyo, when I upgraded using KIES to 2.3.6 my phone has became smoother, but I don't know what is issue with battery life.
In 1 hour time span on GPRS+Display ON+surfing it drains like 10% + battery.
I tried battery calibration. I have never factory reset phone yet. I used an app called battery calibrator from market.
I drained my whole battery and recharged it to 100% .. and so on.. but still I am facing same issue.
I have root my galaxy SL i9003 using DoomLord's tool kit.
Actually now I want to try some other cROMs , Firmwares. Wherever I am having a look at any cROM thread I find pre-requisite as some other base ROMs.
Now can anybody tell me how do I install any other cROM compatible with the above build. I am really newbie when it comes to flashing and all. So please can anyone of you help me and let me understand what I should do to install some other ROM, and I am downloading GalaxySL DDKP2 stock rom, so if any problem occurs how do I reflash with original stock rom?
Some guidance is really appreciated.
I am totally
Please help me out

Try crom poseidon and uc kernel. You have to follow this. Xxkpe-xxkpq-uc kernel-poseidon rom. Battery calibration is a myth. Most mods now are based on xxkpq so I advice you to have an xxkpq based crom.
I am having 2+ days of battery life with uc kernel and poseidon.
Thanks for reply
@earldroid thank you for reply. Another thing i want to ask if I want to go back to original Stock ROM then how do I do it?

Hi friends,
I am pretty new to this forum and before a couple of days i did a research regarding Flashing Kernals and Roms(Dont knw whether my concepts regarding that is right or wrong) and currently i have installed Cyanogen 9.1 for my device. Now let me ask a couple of questions i have for you guys.
1.Will I be able to update my phone and bring back to old ICS firmware via SUS once i brick my phone(I have already unlocked the bootloader via fastboot method)?
2.Evrytime when i flash the Rom(say CM9) i used to flash kernal(boot.img) for the respective rom.Is this necessary all the time?
Will i able to flash a GB rom on ICS kernal(I am afraid to give it a test)?
3.Regarding CM9.1 which i have installed ryt now,I am satisfied with the performance, but i want a stable ROM wud make me happy with a better battery life unlike CM9.1.So could you pls suggest me a GB/ICS ROM which wud have a stable performance with descent battery life.
4.After using GB for a long time,i was very much addicted with the Phone pad kinda keyboard, but when ICS came into picture everything vanished,Smartkeyboard Pro is no gud,Touchpal is conjusted,i want the exact GB keyboard in ICS.Any ideas?!!
Regards
Hazil A.M.
Guys I flashed CM10 Alpha4 yesterday and then the AVATAR rom on my i9003 and since yesterday I m facing battery drain on my device.
I m losing 1% battery every 10mins on standby with 2G on.
Please suggest me what shall i do..??
Which is the best rom/best way to get good battery backup.
I think you need a few more cycle to get a perfect battery percentage.if after battery cycle you still get battery drain i sugest to back to ics with alpha 11 kernel.
Press thanks if i help you
try to use my guides in my signature
Thanks MR.Volkf for your help. Flashed the kernel and the tweaks. Will post the results in a day...

hello community. i am trying to get my brothers skyrocket battery life to last a little longer. i flashed PAC 4.3, everything works great except his battery life is dropping pretty fast. i know sometimes kernels can help with this. Can anyone link me to a good kernel that supports 4.3 for skyrocket? i looked thru the forums but could not find one. any help is appreciated. and if this has been answered a long time ago, i apologize for the repeat.
thank you in advance
I would get better battery stats and see what is using the battery and eliminate as many as those as you can. A kernel is not going to make a big difference.
Edit, see this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=31974989

Well if you want a kernel for pac 4.3, here in the skyrocket forums I haven't seen any for pac, there is a just relaesed kernel for 4.4.2 called Moretz Kernal in the forums heres a link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2694688, that would require a 4.4.2 rom and the 4.4.2 pac rom might not work with it due the hybrid kernel it uses, I would backup the rom with either Titanuim back or somting or nandroid and go test a CM Monthly or one of the roms in the the forums for better batery, theres also this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2411161 to help cut down on the battery usage but remember to backup and read the first posts. Also the battery could be old and could contribute to the problem. Hoep this helps
