to install clockworkmod recovery, you need to go to the market and install rom manager (free or paid, it doesn't matter)
then choose "flash clockworkmod recovery"
btw I haven't tried this, so I can't confirm it works
Hope i helped!
with rom manager my device is not on the list, and any device from the list i try, it just brings me to the stock recovery (3e) and i get the message that the zip is unsigned....
could someone please help....
thanks,
Aryeh

I've been waiting for my Samsung Galaxy player 5.0 (YP-G70) To be listed for clockworkmod recovery too.

I was trying to make a backup of my current ROM/info before I installed a new kernel, but when I click "Backup current ROM", I get a pop up that says
Flash Clockworkmod Recovery
You must have CLockworkMOD Recovery Installed before continuing! Install the recovery through ROM Manager first.
I click Install and it asks me to confirm my phone model, but the closes thing that it offers to my phone model is the Samsung t-Mobil Galaxy S2. Is this the one I should use? Or is there another way I should be going about this?
Sorry for all the n00b questions, just want to make sure I do everything right incase I have to fix my phone. haha
Select t-mobile.
Sent from my SGH-I727R using xda premium
Yes you must choose tmobile galaxy s2. Its the same as our phone, ours is not listed. But that is what everyone who uses rom manager does
Don't choose Motorola Startac, you're phone will explode....
As mentioned, the T-Mo Clockwork mod option is the one you want. That is, unless they have added proper Skyrocket option since the last time I flash in CWM.

I just installed the Touch Recovery from Rom Manager using the Android Market in-app purchase. Updated my CWM to 5.8.1.3, from what I gather on the website, this is the T-Mobile SGS 2 version. Works fine from what I can tell/tested.
Just out of curiosity, is it possible to root without cmw and without a computer?

No, you need a cistom recovery installed on phone to flash the su file
You can try twrp recovery that uses goo manager to install its twrp but I think(99.999% sure) u have to be rooted first
You can read my link in my sig about rooting

Need root to have the recovery script.... You could go buy an original gangster Android 1.x phone and use androot or z4root and ginger break
All of which don't work on the sky rocket
Download goo manager and go to a friends house goo has All the files needed like super user and odin
CM9 Skyrocket

Sorry. I can see that there are known issues like no rotating screen (home screen) and no responce at lock screen. How do you see this?
Sorry, I don't know exactly what you mean by CWM 6.0.1.0 and so on. I have a Mac, can I use it to flash the ROM and Recovery?
/RasmusJ
No mobile odin pro is used to flash stock firmwares not custom ones as i know
If you read how to install in www.tramhacksung.org for your device it only mentions cwm not mobile odin or anything else stick with instructions you may brick tab if you do not follow instructions in this site you will find cm9 and cm10 with instructions follow closely i tried all of them

Cwm from rom manager forced recovery loop
im using a sprint note 3 (sm-n900p) and i downloaded Rom Manager to get cwm and it said that it downloaded and installed just fine. i booted into recovery and it just loops over and over. If i remove battery and turn on normally, it'll continue to loop the same. the only solution to fix the loop i had was to take out the battery and boot into download mode, then i pressed down to cancel and it loads up normal. but for now, rom manager has messed up my recovery. (im not an expert on this, but im not a beginner either) just thought id give you guys a heads up

first off, I'm new to this stuff. Love my Samsung phone, tablet and everything else, but changing ROM's and stuff is way above my grade. Where does a person start?? I am computer literate, but with Andriods, I'm lost in space!
I have the Galaxy S4 quad-core variant on AT&T running Android 4.3. I installed ROM Manager and from there tried installing Clockworkmod and TWRP (the latter after failure of the former) and the ROM Manager said below my device name "unsupported device". I heard I have to install manually. Is this true or can I not do any of this because I am on Android 4.3? Yes, I am rooted. I really want to flash either Google Play ROM or CyanogenMod, but I can't until I get a custom recovery up and running. Please help.

I don't have a GS4, but maybe this link can help you.
Well.. guess I can't post links just yet. Go to galaxys4root(dot)com, they have a section about installing recoveries on the GS4.
