[Q] are the evo 4g cameras switched on the latest MIUI? - General Questions and Answers

I installed the latest MIUI a few days ago on my EVO 4g, I was playing with the video recorder today and noticed it looked pretty bad and blurry compared to the stock rom. I switched to the front camera and it looked like I remember the regular camera did on the Synergy Rom. It looks worlds better, it's like MIUI's mapping the cameras backwards or something, does this make any sense to any one?

[APP] [PORT] Galaxy S camera for nexus?

tried searching but couldn't find anything, any chance this has been done? my dad has the vibrant and the camera app is amazing, puts the N1 to shame. so i was hoping there may be a way to toss it onto my CM6 N1.
figured i'd bump this again and see if maybe i got an answer this time.
That would in-friggin-credible. That camera is awesome. I had a Vibrant, but gave it to my wife because I was foaming at the mouth for a Nexus One.
I'm not sure how camera mods work... can the Nexus camera hardware even function correctly with Galaxy software (or is it firmware)? Even the "tap to focus" on the HTC camera (I'm using it on Enomther's ROM) doesn't really work like that. It seems to just change lighting rather than actually focusing. Actually, have you tried that one? It also does auto focus while recording. It's a nice replacement for the stock Android camera software. It records in 720p too.

Anyone come to Sensation from SGS Vibrant? Thoughts?

Anyone here come from a Vibrant or other Galaxy S device? If so, what are your thoughts? Would like to know how the screen and snapppiness is compared to the Vibrant. I would like to pick up a Sensation when it gets root so I can get custom ROMs on it (not the biggest fan of developer skins, I may just wait for Nexus 3 if it is made by HTC) and was just wondering how it stacks up to my current phone. Thank you!
I came from a Vibrant. I hadn't even been looking to upgrade but I did. The battery life is fat better for me. The build quality is better and 2.3 official rather 2.2. Oh and Sense is the ish!

I had a rooted vibrant with ffc mod. I picked up a sensation two days ago.
My opinion is sense is cumbersome. I replaced the launcher after the first day. I would call the overall feel of system response comparable. Like the galaxy this, at times becomes a bit laggy and slow to respond. The rear camera certainly takes better pictures. As far as videos, i find the 720 recording to be slightly better as well. I did a handful of 1080s over the 4th and thought, neat! and then changed it back to 720.
I think 6 months down the road after a few system updates, root and home brew roms this thing will feel like an entirely different beast.

[Q]: What is the best camera out there?

Hi,
I noticed that the quality of my pictures vary with the Roms.
So I'd like to know if there's a Camera app that takes awesome photos? (Like Virtuous Quattro Camera App) ??
Thank you
Fxcamera is meant to be quite good but I don't think its been updated in a while. The stock ICS camera is pretty woeful when it comes to taking photos, IMO. The best camera app for the sensation, sadly, is the one that comes with HTC Sense roms, as it can utilize the sensation's hardware much better than 3rd party apps.
Bit of a blow really as I'm not a Sense fan at all!
There is a camera app in the development section which you could try.
Awwesome. Thnsk you guys

[Q] Best ROM choice?

I just bought a MyTouch 4G Slide and I'm looking at the different ROM choices. My biggest two concerns are with camera function and battery life.
I have used Cyanogen on my past couple phones and have loved it, so I was looking at CM7 SelfKang. I can deal with only having 2x zoom and 720p video, but some of the comments mentioned poor battery life.
I have been reading into a couple different ROMs, but I'm not quite sure which one would be the best regarding both camera and battery aspects. I'm looking to get opinions from those of you who are more familiar with what is out there.
Thank you!

If you can get it to work right . some have no problems others do .. Rubix ICS 5.3 with the Sense camera is a awesome rom ... I had problems with it . others say it works great
If you want a nice, stable rom. That keeps all the stock feature, but with out the Sense look. Use Rubix ICS on Rootzwiki. It's based of the shipped stock rom. GB 2.3.4.
If you want ICS with working Video and Camera. Use any of Tbaldens ICS Roms but his CM9 Port. You losse 720p video, but really. One can manage with out 1080p. You need a class 6 or higher SD card for full 1080p, otherwsie it is 720p.
If you want a crazy fast Rom use the AOKP port by XMC Wildchild.
If you want a super fast stock rom, use BulletProof.
If you want Sense 3.0 use Rubix Sensation on XDA.
My Personal Fav is the Virtuious Senseless on Root, or PryoIce Senseless.

All Roms not using the CM7 kernel have amazing battery.

CM9 <-> OpenSensation differences, Cam res.

Hello girls and boys,
I'm still confused. What is the main difference between CM9 and OpenSensation? I read somewhere, that they are nearly equal now only Cam, DSP-Manager is better on OpenSensation. Can they be flashed over each other w/o wiping?
Also, which one do you prefer? What about AOKP? I used VI and HyperNonSense until now, but in 2 week holiday I saw a lot of downsides (stability, GPS, ...) and wanted to get some real AOSP ROM :victory: Really loved CM7 on my Desire and Sensation.
Also, does anyone know if Cam Apps like UI Cam or similar also increase photo/video quality of the used ROM or are they only different in photo resolution and UI (not speaking of effects or anything, just plain photo/video material)?
I know, this has been asked a lot, but all threads I read were old or unspecific... Thanks in advance
