Hi, i tried to update my xperia x8 to doixanh's froyobread or ginger dx and I didn't have much success. I downloaded the latest update file, moved it to sd card, boot into xrecovery and install custom zip. When installation was completed,i reboot it,and I thought it will be good, but it wasn't, it was just your logo of froyobread and nothing was happening. I waited for like 10 minutes and still nothing. Same happened with ginger dx. I'm using the official android for my x8 (2.1 update 1) and official kernel and everything. But i have xxx015, that number he wrote we must have. I really don't see any problem, can somebody please help me? I would really like to use his roms.
Thank you a lot.
Here are roms: ginger dx: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1188486

I had this happen. So I went through the full root process again and then applied the 023-024, and then the 024-026 patches. Everything works great now.
So if all else fails, re-root (follow all the steps in the rooting post).
i try the full update earlier on with the root_v3.3! timescape was not working for me and some other glitches with softwares i installed too..
tried with the update_24_26 and it works
Hi, a couple of weeks ago i rooted my xperia x8, and had it all working using super oneclick, back then it all worked fine, anyway, the other night i happend to go on the update section of sonyericsson software and it advised me that there was an update, me not reaslising i updated the phone completly forgetting that it would delete everything, basically it unrooted my phone, and reset the software to an updated version with a few new apps and stuff. ... i cant recall what the software number was before but my current software is (2.1 update1, baseband version = m76xx-tsncjolym-53404015, kernel version, 2.6.29, SEMCUser SEMCHost #1, and finally build number 2.1.1.a.0.6, ive tried every version of Superoneclick and it just dont want to root anymore, its keeps looping and looping forever.. its really making me mad because if i cant root it now then im stuck with this stupid S.E software on it.. could anyone enlighten me why this has happend, if so what i could do to fix it.. and or whether it was because of the new version that i upgraded to and sony ericsson had blocked it or something?? Hello,
I recently acquired a Xperia X8 and tried to install a CFW, but i have some issues
So far, as i understood, i'm on android 2.1 root, using xrecovery, my baseband is 015, build 2.1.1.A.0.16, the cell is the international version ( not the american one ).
I tried to install FroyoBread v023b and i also tried the GingerDX v017, following closely the guides, and no matter what i try, i end up always stucked at the logo ( either froyobread or i don't remember what is written on the second one ). My x8 simply freeze at these logos, and i finally go again to the xrecovery menu, restoring my backup and am still on 2.1 root.
If anyone have an idea of where i did wrong and how to make me install finally one of these roms, it'd be really nice =)
Thanks

hy my friend.i have also xperia x8 and after i lnstalled xrecovery,i installed cyanogen mode 7 and everything were ok.....try to install this first and then install gigner dx....i hope this helps u!!!!
well, it worth a try ^^ if i can ask you the link of cyanogen mode 7 you used please ^^
I tried to install a CFW too, i'm on android 2.1 Rooted and xRecovery installed , my baseband is 015, build 2.1.1.A.0.16,
I tried to install the GingerDX v017, I install rom manager and when I try to install CWM there is not X8 on phone list.
I sucesfully install Fdxperience with xrecovery and restore to 2.1...
Help me with Rom manager, CWM and GingerDX v017please!
Thanks!
Well, i tried to redownload the rom and install it in case i could have a problem with the file i downloaded ( i doubted of it but who knows u_u ), same problem. i still am freezing at the froyobread logo
- Edit -
I tried just now with another rom, installed using the recovery system, and weirdly, its the same, i freeze at the logo Hackdroid this time...
If I install GingerDX v13 with xrecovery, is it possible to upgrade it to v17 without CWM?

ok i found out the problem... it was the µSD that was causing issues... i removed it, i booted... then i partitionned it a second time ( maybe the ext 2 part was a bit too big and made crash the FW first launch, who knows )

As the title says i have problems installing custom rom on my android phone.
First time i installed a custom rom was 4 months ago and at that time, it worked ! I installed CM7 and it worked with a few small bugs but now i found a better version of cm7 and i tried to install serveral times and it didn't worked.
The custom rom i tried to install was this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1554530
What steps i followed:
1. I rooted the phone with superoneclick v2.3.3 and it was ok
2. I installed ClockWork Recovery from android market and flash recovery (v5.0.2.8)
3. I selected a custom rom to install and until here it was fine.
So, the phone has rebooted himself and the installing of cm7 began ...
And from here start the problem: After installing, on the screen remains the writing ANDROID like in the picture from the attachement. (the picture is made in paint)
So what is the problem, what i've done wrong ?
This is not the first time i install a custom rom,i know how to install but i don't know what is the problem now ...
Sorry if i posted in the wrong section, but i'm new here
Thank you in advice
can someone help me please, i really need to update android !
no one ?!
i need help with this,i can't figure out why is not working ...
nevermind,i solved myself

Hi everyone,
First of all I would like to mention that I really searched and obviously I did not find anything, so please do not spank me for not trying (I used search box and google).
Here's my question, I already have on my beloved Xperia J a version of Cyanogen Mod 10, but I would like to know if in case of update I have to repeat the same process (flashing the boot.img using flashtool etc.), or maybe even downgrading back to ICS, or do I have to only download the Cyanogen Mod 10 and press the update button in recovery menu? I am wondering about that because previously I had HTC Wildfire and back then everything was much much easier.

You just download new fxp cm10 version and flash it through cwm recovery.. without wipe data partition...without flashing ics...
What about installed apps and data? Is everything there after update?
