I was in Tmobile the other day and while their phone is very similar in size, I don't think the cases line up perfectly with the volume switches and the curvature of the back, etc.
Anyone found a good yet thin case that snaps on simply to keep the back from getting all scratched up? Thin profile is desire #1 for me.
You should check out a company called Ghost Armor. They make a phone wrap that IMO is way better than ZAGG. It is made model specific. It doesn't protect against shock from dropping, but if scratch protection is what you are looking for this is the ticket. I don't know if they have the wrap for the Skyrocket yet, but I had it on my SGSII and it was great. It costs around $40 to do the whole phone, but it is warrantied for life.
Yeah it doesn't look like they do as of yet but I'll check again later with them.

I have been looking for one as well but since this model is just released the accessories are slim pickings. I bought the OtterBox case for now but I hate the bulk it adds. I too am looking for scratch protection as opposed to shock protection. If you find something I would appreciate you posting back here with the info.
Definitely.

Have you seen the other post in this section? That case looks kind of promising. not only does it look thin it keep the asthetics of the phones original look.

Where did you get an otterbox for it? Is it a commuter series?
I believe we have the same phone for Rogers in Canada. The Galaxy S II LTE.
It's the I727, I haven't heard anyone dub it anything as of yet. But when I google the model number it comes up with AT&T Skyrocket. And the phone looks to be the same..
I can't find an Otterbox on their website. And I'm very curious as to how you have acquired one.
Maybe I can PM you can you can send me some pictures of the phone and the case? Would be a huge favor. Cuz I really wanted to get an Otterbox for this phone.
As well as potentially covering with some kind of Invisible shield for scratch protection.
But let me know about that otterbox.

Looking at the picture of the Rogers version I would say they are absolutely identical. I am confident that the Otterbox on AT&T, or any other Skyrocket case for that matter, would fit your phone perfectly.

AT&T seems to have locked exclusivity with Otterbox products for this phone.

Problem is that AT&T doesn't ship to Canada
Considered a Skinomi or Wrapsol? Great protection and the add almost no thickness. I don't like their screen protector, but then I don't use one at all. One other downside is they don't sell the back protection without the screen protector.

This is only the second otterbox I have had. The first was a defender for the 3gs. This commuter case is well built and feels and looks great. The only problem I ran into was the first silicone layer was getting pinched at the corner when I was trying to put the outter cover snapped in place. After a few attempts finally got it on and so far so good. Def worth the wait and money.

The back is mostly hard plastic. The only silicone will be at the headphone jack, power button, charging port, and the largest part is volume rocker. The plastic has a great design/look to it. You wont be disappointed. Should be getting some pics up a little later.

Here's a quick review of the ray-out `Rubber Coating Shell Jacket' for the HTC Desire HD.
I think a back cover is a bit useless, given it can survive being driven over. Unless you prevent scratches and chips, but that has never really bothered me.
Yeah. It wouldn't be my first choice of protection. But the stores in Japan here were slow to get any cases in when the Desire HD was released in November.
It's been OK minimal protection for a couple of months. I do care about scratches and chips.
I like the look of the Otterbox cases - but I've not seen them in the flesh yet.
The Otterbox cases are some of the best, if not the best, cases available. I have a Commuter one for my DHD and absolutely love it.
Yeah. I'm tempted to get that model I think. It looks like a smart choice.

I'll second that. I have the otterbox commuter also, apart from the fact the rubber shell is a lint magnet, it's one of the best cases available IMO.
Ive got a white version bought from ebay for £3. It looks similar to yours but mine protetcs the camera because the lens surround protrudes. I dont use it because the top and bottom of the DHD is not protected.
Yep, 3 quid sounds more like it. Many things are way overpriced here.
In November when the Desire HD came out, they were selling SoftBank screen protectors (good quality but the usual stick on protector) for about 13 quid. (or 21 dollars). SoftBank is the only main Carrier here selling the Desire HD, the iPhones and the iPad.

Just PM me an address. I'll get to the post office in the next few days and mail it. Just normal shipping/ international - I'm not fussed. It's not heavy and it's free - so first come first serve. It's the red one.

Hi all, I just bought this phone couple day ago, I am looking for a durable case with holster, what brand should I'm looking for? Otterbox case dose not come with a holster.
Thanks
Just got off the phone with Otterbox. The poster that made direct link above is correct part for our phone. The case will fit if you order the i9000 model one, however the protective cover will block the FFC. This from otterbox.
I personally went with case mate, and it's listed as it should work.
I went in to a T-mo store and tried a case that was originally branded as compatible for the Vibrant but had a sticker placed over it that said "Compatible with Vibrant and SGS4g". I tired my SGS4g and it did not fit. The guys behind the counter even tried to no avail. They went in the back and brought back a Vibrant and it fit perfectly. I don't know exactly what kept it from working...but it did. Just be careful because obviously they are not exact.
Just a data point:
I can swap out the back covers of my vibrant and SGS 4g.
They are interchangeable.

The physical dimensions of the phones are supposed to be the same; however, the button layouts are not.

As long as it's a case that covers the sides and back of the phone, it should work perfectly fine. As everyone has said, the external dimensions are the same.
Another thing worth stating is that you might get a cheap case that just won't fit at all. I'd really just recommend getting the cases that are mentioned on this forum.

I can assure you they are. Anyone who says otherwise has never had them side by side. The dimensions are exactly the same along with the button placement (Vibrant and SGS4G that is). Any vibrant case should work on a SGS4G. If it doesn't fit, somebody is doing it wrong because they are the exact same.
EDIT: The one difference being the FFC as already stated by someone else.
Also just to give my experience with a case. I have the Otterbox Commuter and like it, although I wish I had seen the Trident cases first as I originally wanted a defender case which they do not make for our phone. I would have bought the Cyclops. I may at some point, but the Commuter works for now. I have dropped it once or twice and its still in perfect condition.
Yeah the cyclops case is very nice. I bought it becuase there wasnt a defender series otterbox for SGS4G. The only two issues i have with the case are that it makes it hard to select a phone contact by letter in contacts because of the thick plastic protecting screen and phone from a fall. The other problem (which could be considered a good thing) is that the usb and headhpone jack covers are really hard to remove if you dont have long fingernails. They keep the USB and Headphone jack super tight though which is good in case of rain or a quick fall in a small puddle of water.
Are there any cases available to buy that will protect the phone against drops?

it's pretty obvious there are not, we are all trying to get otterbox and uag to make one for us which would hopefully help with drops. but a easy search for any case at the moment, would result in no good cases available.

TPU cases do NOT work perfectly fine for drops UNLESS those drops are very minor. If you drop a phone with TPU case from waist up, chances are things might not look so good once you pick your phone back up.

My Ultra Hybrid just arrived from Amazon. I went for the clear version. Phone arrives Friday, but initial thoughts are good. Has a slight "tacky" feel ti it which should eliminate any slips from the hand. Will give more thoughts on Friday once i try the phone in it.

I was going to get one of these as it's available on Prime on Amazon (I have Prime) but the cut out for the camera and flash is too big and offers little to no protection from what I can see. In the end I went for one of these:-

But I usually end up with 2-3 cases so that is just the first.
Very tempted to buy one of these.
I have a question for you... I have the same case and I have noticed that when I place the device on any flat service the device will almost rock back and forth if I try using the device while it's laying on the flat service. I can only imagine that this is happening because the legs on the case are not flat. Can you please let me know if you have a similar issue with your case?
Thank you!

Go for it. Great fit. Not too much added bulk. Feels "grippy" in the hand. Only thing is, if you have short nails, its awkward if not impossible to open the charging cover with the case on.
Nice case
I just bought a Spigen for my S5. Looking forward to it.
After having the case for 2-3 days I just noticed I purchased the Gun Metal instead of the black I initially wanted.. FAIL
