I'm using MIUI for Rom now and the music player is just ok... same with Google Music. I actually liked the Sense 3.5 music player from my Incredible, the beats by dre setting actually did make for good sound. I'm curious what you guys use, I'd rather not pay for an app since I'm just using my phone more like an iPod.
thanks!
You need a kernel with voodoo or buy the voodoo app and you'll love the new sound it provides.

Get the voodoo kernel and app and try ttpod from the market. Best free player out there. Even has lyrics support like none other.
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App which costs money.
Flash the new matr1x kernel it includes voodoo and rules anyways

Nice, I'm using matr1x kernel 10.5 and just downloaded ttpod, giving it a shot now. Thanks guys.

Like the title says, what's your music player of choice on your G2x?
Personally, I use Poweramp because of the Eq, folder based playback, and it looks very nice.

Im kinda at a loss here ....ive tried several gb kernels and i cant seem to find one that is compatable for the voodoo control app.
Can someone point me to a good kernel for this please
Sent from my SGH-T959V using xda premium
Voodoo plus works great for me. Has on any kernel. What are you trying to do?
He probably does not have voodoo plus. I don't think we have a kernel with voodoo sound.
Voodoo plus is it for now.
Thats it i was trying to use the sound controls.
I loved that option when i had my vibrant
Sent from my SGH-T959V using xda premium
He probably doesn't. If he did I bet we wouldn't see this post here. So shortbus it's worth the cash. Get voodoo control plus. Problem solved.
Ok so with the paid vrs comes the extended sound controls for this device?

Raver puts his own sound tweaks in his ROMs if you are on Cyanogenmod Hybrid or Octaine.
Yes the paid version works without a supported kernel. I believe it even says that in the app description.
yep. Come to think of it the regular may also come with it. If you have non free version is there a choice to load sound driver?
The free vrs has the option....if the paid vrs has it and it works even thought the free one doesnt....i dont have a problem purchasing it.
The voodoo control app is a must have....works awsome on the vibrant and now i want it on this phone lol
Sent from my SGH-T959V using xda premium
The regular voodoo needs the kernel. I think that is how he entices you to pay for it.
"If you don't want or cannot flash a kernel, my commercial app "Voodoo Control Plus" has the ability to load Voodoo Sound with only root." -- free voodoo app description
So you need the paid because we do not have a custom kernel to support it... yet.
Yeah the paid one works. Go ahead and get it. Pretty nice too.
Ok thank you....thats the answer i was looking for

If you don't mind going back to Froyo, The Bali 3.3 kernel has voodoo sound support.
I bought the paid vrs and the sound control didnt work for me on valhalla

None of the equalizers from the market work, idk if it's just my rom (xboarders quickwiz) or not, only the stock music player's eq works, if there any way to get the others to work, thanks

Hi Twisted03
You mean this one ?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.motioncoding.beats
I intend to check it after I make a nandroid backup.
Is it even legit ? not a proprietary of HTC & Dr.Dre ?
Downloading now. What about dsp? Will they conflict?

Trying it now with CM7 RC1R11 inject w/ TWRP odexed.
*EDIT* Yea.. this got bad real fast. It didn't work at all.
From what I read it hasn't been tested on our phones yet... Just seeing if anyone has tried it with success or failure

What build did you use? 317?
Edit : I confirm installing BN-317. (I'm on Hebrew Valhalla BML ROM).
DSP Manager becomes unlaunchable. Constantly crashes.
I feel like listening to Rock EQ.

I used all three, the 501, 317 and the 320(???) and none of them worked. Im running CM7 R11 with twrp
Installed and running it right now... Having a hard time hearing the difference between this and voodoo sounds which in my opinion is better

Update : after listening to my playlist I neglected and reverted it. It is like having one static EQ.
I'm currently using voodoo sound, dsp msnager and stock music player which are 3 very customizable equalizers with endless mutual combinations.
Setting voodoo sound to +2db line out, bass boost on, +4db medium speakers 80% dynamic range
DSP Manager Acoustic EQ
And stock music player to sound clarity effect - I'm getting incredibly better results.

R: Best music player?????
Everybody is always talking about Poweramp or Neutron.
I don't agree, I've tried almost all the main players and decided Gonemad is the best one. It's the only one with perfect gapless (have never tried to listen to Pink Floyd the Wall? Neutron and many other players sometimes put small "ticks"between tracks even if they claim to have precise gapless sound). The UI is simple and clear. There are many many options, the audio is great.
Try it by yourself.

This is just a matter of personal taste, the best you will get here is "suggestions".
I've tried Poweramp, winamp,N7player, Zplayer, playerpro, TTPod and few others, if you want a clear answer you might want to tell us what you are looking for in a player ( Effects ? Lyrics ? folders ? Battery ? etc.)
