Absolute noob here, first post and this seems the best place to post my query.
I'm having problems with my video calls with Skype on my Galaxy Note. I bought mine just about a week ago and Skype the most important app for me right now as I need it for comm with my relatives and GF. but video doesn't seem to work. Is there any additional configuration that I need to setup? Or Is there any particular version for Skype that I should be using for NOTE?
I really appreciate any help or guide on this...

working fine for me, at least with test video calls over my LAN - but basic skypeout also tested and works too. would help if you described what you are trying and what is going wrong.

Has anyone tried using Skype and or Google Talk on their Transformer yet? If so, were you able to get voice and/or video working? This a big selling point for me (video chat). Any and all discussion around this is welcome. Thanks in advance.

I havnt tried but read my short review posted in the forum
yep, both work ok.. Skype voice quality is better.. but the app is buggy and lacks video (i hear there is an updated soon though).. video calling over gtalk worked well for me as well though..

hey guys, i just got my charge and downloaded the app "tango", which allows video chatting.
but when i try it and i turn on the video my friend cannot hear me.
i remember when i got my phone the guy at best buy said the charge cannot send data and voice at the same time
so i am amusing this is the problem.
my friend has the Tbolt and it works fine.
If video chatting is out of the question for the charge why did they even include the front facing camera.
also is there a way around this? how can i get video chatting to work on my charge.
any ideas

i've found this thats how i came upon tango but it doesn't seem to be working for me.
is it just my phone or all charges?
Make sure your friend does not have mute selected, and does have the speaker selected.

The developers of Tango are aware of the audio issues associated with the Charge, and are working to resolve it. Here's a post from another site:

something new with Fring, because when I used it, it wouldn't use the front facing camera.
Yeah Fring was update a few hours ago. But the volume is too low for the program to be honestly useful.

Has anyone been able to get skype video to work on the charge? I just got an upgrade available and I'm debating whether to get this or the thunderbolt which can use skype but the battery life is a major concern.

It is low. If you are outside or in a noisy place you'll have issues. But for me it's not too bad. I use it at work to talk and cheack on my son at home. If I don't call him he'll never take a bath. Hell when I was his age I was ironing my clothes and smelling fine. Had girls all over the place. This boy don't give to you know whats.

Don't look like it. I just checked the reviews in the market place and as of 6-8-11, people are still rating it poorly because of that.

Not sure if you're aware, but that just means you can't use data while on voice CALLS only. Data doesn't disable your microphone.
I've downloaded Qik but haven't tried it yet. Anyone have any luck?
Is there a chance a dev out there might help us out with this? Or maybe we can lobby our requests at the dev who modified skype to work on various devices over at the i9000 forums.
If our phone could have this feature then I'd be content not changing mobiles for the next 5 years...

On a sorta side note... Anyone else here trying CM7? Try using both g talk and Skype there with the front facing cam. I think they partially work!

I'm planning to buy the ChaCha for my gf. And I want to use the chacha for whatsapp and skype. But I have read that the ChaCha does not support video calling for Skype. Tango is a great alternative for this, but anyone confirmed that Tango video calling works on ChaCha ??

i use tango with my gf and its working like charm and u can use it from pc to phone or other way around and the quality in video and voice are great ,, u should try qik too
My gf really likes the keyboard style of BB but I insist on using Android. So after finding out ChaCha, it instantly suggests this to her.
Also, I am using HD7 and Skype still does not show up on WP7 yet, so Tango is the best solution at the moment.

I sideloaded it on my p3113, and the camera is sideways, but it does make calls and connect. You can see the other persons cam. I have had reports that audio cuts in and out.

tnx for sharing. I have had that issue before with my previous tab10.1 P7500. messenger works with video calling but image is sideways, but if you flip your cam the return it back using the front cam, your image will appear normal. ( i mean vertical, not sideways anymore). That is why I am really disappointed for replacing the old tab 10.1 with the new tab 2, even skype's video calling wont work. at least the OG tab video calling works. I just wish they could release a new plugin or fix soon for the video calling coz its making samsung's reputation really bad....

Yah, it looks like they released the device without testing for compatible apps for video and voice calling. even skype's video calling doesnt work either. they should start fixing these issues coz its already been months since the release of tab 2 and if this would take longer before it could be fixed, it could really give samsung a really bad impression to consumers. besides, they just won their case over apple, right?

My customer has a custom app that uses the camera to take pictures and insert the pictures into a form for reporting purposes (home inspection app).
He is having all kinds of issues with the camera. Today, SAMSUNG support told him that, the "tablet was not designed to be used by an app that controls the camera".
This is complete BS in my opinion but I need more info to fire back at their support.
